@oyb
For reasons best known to yourself, you spent a very good part of your time attacking me on the first page (to the extent it looked like the topic was about Beaf, rather than the serious issue of bombs at Eagle Square); for which you were rebuked by quite a few NLers. Somewhere along the line, the truth of govts position began to dawn on you and you shoved your foot in your mouth (as always) to come up with this;

lets see how this goes

theres a chima orlu on fb

this is ben jessy

http://www.facebook.com/people/Ben-Jessy/692063392

so could these be our criminal masterminds - or have our police pulled names out of their asses and implicated some innocents
If all NL mods were as foolish and anal as yourself, there would be no NL today. Thank God, your gutter attitude is highly diluted.

Sagamite: It surely is the best evidence for it in the context of a forum where opinions are being thrust about.

I can't vouch for everyone in the list but I think majority of those on it are good at delivering logical and objective arguments that they can back up in most of their arguments, and willing to accept same when another person puts it forth to them.

I do think though that some NLers are confusing being intelligent to having a sharp mind.

There surely are a few intelligent people on NL, but I think majority of the shapest minds are likely on that list. I don't know everyone on NL, so the poster might have missed some.

There are obviously people that take NL as a bit of fun, time-passer or joke that don't engage too intensely in debates.

Some people can not make the list though as they do take NL seriously but yet their arguments only show passion, not top intellect.

Imagine saying Dede1 and Beaf should be put in the same category as, for example, Deepsight. LWKMD  grin grin grin grin

To this:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-444610.224.html#msg6059851

Read the debate that follows and then the inevitable outcome

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-444610.288.html#msg6090839

Such comparison of the 2 with Deepsight is like pitching the present fastest runner from Sri Lanka against Usain Bolt.

That would be a joke as he would not even be able to compete with the 3rd fastest from Japan/Nigeria that are still a few notches below.
I clicked on this thread out of curiosity today. Matters like the topic of the thread do not impress me therefore, this is likely to be my first and last contribution;  but I saw a post from Dede1 which called my attention, due to a quote from yourself. You referred to me out of the blue, for some obscure reason (most likely, an insecure or diminutive mentality).

A lot of the time, people like you cannot understand that I genuinely detest foolishness. The easiest way to cause me offense is to display brazen foolishness or wanton lip flapping.

Do not cheapen the Beaf persona name by dragging it into asinine arguments that only highlight your low self-esteem issues.

Types like you are most likely known for nothing outside of NL. I am quite comfortable with my mentality, so; I really don’t care if anyone see’s me as the dimmest bulb, just as long as they themselves are smart. However, I take real offense when a blathering fool steps on my name for no obvious reason.

Chimp brain transplants are going for free in research labs; go get something better than what you have between both ears. As a bonus, you would make a good science research subject on the profound mystery of how fools manage to live, breathe and exist.

Police in Nigeria name 2 suspects in the dual car bombings that struck during celebrations
By Bashir Adigun (CP) – 13 minutes ago

ABUJA, Nigeria — Nigeria's federal police force named two men Sunday night as the "masterminds" behind the bombings that struck the West African nation's capital during its independence celebrations.

Meanwhile, a lawyer in South Africa confirmed that an ex-leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, the group that claimed responsibility for the Friday attack, faces a terrorism charge over his alleged involvement in the plot.

Federal police spokesman Emmanuel Ojukwu in a statement named the two men as Ben Jessy and Chima Orlu. He offered no further details about the two Nigerian men, other than warning the public that harbouring them would be a criminal offence.

"It is clear that the intention of the perpetrators of the evil act was to truncate Nigeria's celebration of half a century of her political freedom," the statement read. "Their motive was to cut short the joy of men and women of goodwill and to pour shame and contempt on our president and indeed the entire nation."

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, also known by the acronym MEND, issued a warning to journalists about an hour before the attacks Friday, telling people to stay away from festivities at Eagle Square in Abuja. It blamed Nigeria's government for doing nothing to end the unceasing poverty in the delta as the nation receives billions of dollars from oil revenue.

One car bomb exploded, drawing police, firefighters and the curious to the street near a federal courthouse. Five minutes later, a second car bomb exploded, apparently intended to target those drawn to the scene.

A third, smaller explosion struck inside Eagle Square during the ceremony, apparently injuring one security officer. However, MEND has denied placing any explosives inside the venue.

MEND has destroyed oil pipelines, kidnapped petroleum company workers and fought government troops since 2006. The attack Friday marked the first time it targeted Nigeria's capital — and came within a 10-minute walk of where President Goodluck Jonathan and others attended celebrations marking Nigeria's 50th anniversary of independence from Britain.

The police statement said another arrest had already been made by authorities over the bombing. On Sunday, a lawyer for ex-MEND leader Henry Okah confirmed his client had been arrested in Johannesburg.

Ulrich Roux, an attorney with the South African firm representing Okah, said Okah was arrested Saturday. Roux said Okah "claims that he knows nothing of any of these bombings."

Roux said Okah was arrested and jailed under South African counterterrorism legislation, but has not been charged. Okah is expected be brought to court for a preliminary hearing Monday.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's president has blamed a "small terrorist group that resides outside Nigeria" for the bombings. Jonathan's assertions, coming in a statement from his office Sunday night, go against MEND's claim of responsibility.

The statement quoted Jonathan as saying "investigations show that members of MEND have said they know nothing about" claiming responsibility for the attacks. However, it offered no other details.

The bombs went off when president Jonathan was inspecting a guard of honour in the event-attended by over 15 heads of state of different nations, former Nigerian presidents and former military heads of state save Gen. Ibrahim Babangida , who was absent. The blasts did not prevent the event from going on. Although Jonathan was unshaken when he heard the sound of the blasts, one of his closed aides said, "He is very angry about the embarrassment."
All former Heads of State were present apart from IBB. . .
Was Jonathan actually meant to be killed in a blast? Cos I read somewhere that several bombs were defused prior to the ceremony.
Politics › Colonel Lawan Gwadabe Accuses IBB, Atiku, Gusau by Beaf(op): 8:13pm On Oct 03, 2010
Fury of a Retired Colonel
Written by Demola Abimboye
Sunday, 03 October 2010

Lawan Gwadabe, retired colonel, accuses two key opponents of President Goodluck Jonathan in the race for the PDP presidential ticket of dubious intentions.

It is an allegation of a grand plan by some contestants to ensure that they clinch the presidential ticket of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, at all cost. But Lawan Gwadabe, a retired colonel, who held top command positions in the Army as well as helped in peace operations in some African countries, has exposed the plot.

In a secret letter to President Goodluck Jonathan dated September 6, the former governor of Niger State and commander of the army brigade in Bauchi until he was arrested for a phantom coup plot in 1995 by the late Sani Abacha, detailed plans by Ibrahim Babangida, former military president, Aliyu Gusau, immediate past national security adviser, NSA, to Jonathan and Atiku Abubakar, vice president between 1999 and 2007, to checkmate the incumbent in his efforts to clinch the party’s ticket at the forthcoming primaries. Should they fail, Babangida was alleged to have perfected a defection plan to the All Nigerian People’s Party, ANPP, “where he is assured of a ticket to sabotage all the efforts of PDP and particularly the aspirations of the commander-in-chief.”

The three men, according to Gwadabe, have a war chest including foreign donations to execute their plan. An oil magnate believed to have links to Babangida since his military presidency was also listed as a major financier of the plot. The magnate recently struck gas, about 3.5 billion cubic feet, in two oil blocks he allegedly got under Babangida. Gwadabe sees this as dangerous as he may emerge as the richest man in this continent. The Brass LNG Company is believed to be negotiating a 30-year gas lifting contract with him. “This is a dangerous trend which the president must stop immediately. This issue has far wider security implications which the president should examine carefully,” Gwadabe wrote.

He warned that because of the potential cash calls, the anti-Jonathan group was confident that incumbency is not a deterrent to their ambitions. He enjoined the president to beam his searchlight on a major auto firm from the Asian continent to establish its link to one of the contestants as well as liaise with the Angolan authorities to unravel the extent of one of the trio’s involvement in that country’s oil and gas sector. “His holding in Equatorial Guinea is already a common knowledge, the NNPC should be able to brief you on that,” he wrote.

Gwadabe, who is chairman of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, also complained about the antics of the governors who have been holding meetings aimed at presenting Bukola Saraki, governor of Kwara State, as their candidate. He said there are three zones for their campaigns. They are headed by governors Magatakarda Wamako, Isa Yuguda and Emmanuel Uduaghan of Sokoto, Bauchi and Delta states respectively. “In their strategy meetings, they resolved to use state funds at their disposal to buy delegates to ensure their compliance during the primaries,” he said.

Among northern governors, Gwadabe singled out Saraki and Sule Lamido of Jigawa State for special mention. He said the Zimbabwean farmers’ project in Kwara should be probed and that the federal government should ask for the details of Saraki’s involvement in the Intercontinental Bank saga. “He will be caught red handed. Besides, the current scheming that Saraki is doing to acquire Intercontinental Bank PLC is more to cover up their crimes than any altruism,” he wrote, adding “after all, did they not kill Societe Generale bank through the same means of financial malfeasance?”

He listed the companies Saraki allegedly used for the transactions with Intercontinental Bank. They are Linkers, Directrade, Joy Petroleum and Skyview Properties. “Some of them have been on the watch list of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Mr. President should cause the EFCC to furnish him with the updated information concerning the above mentioned companies. The State Security Services can also be tasked on the same subject matter in order to compare the two results. There are growing indications that the chairman of EFCC has come to that job with a lot of baggage to the extent that sometimes there is a lot more than meets the eye.”

He warned Jonathan to handle them carefully as they are operating with impunity. He suggested to the president to intimidate them. “They are all corrupt yet they are scared stiff of being investigated.” He recommended that investigators must probe state ministries of finance, local government and chieftaincy affairs and agriculture. “These three ministries are where all the illegal activities of governors are taking place to siphon state funds. There is no exception but Kwara and Delta are quite notorious.”

He noted that as at the time of writing the letter to the president, EFCC men had just stormed Jigawa and arrested the commissioners for finance and local government affairs as well as his permanent secretary. “People in Jigawa are so happy about these arrests because Sule is running the state like a fiefdom. The people are happy that his corruption is now coming under scrutiny in Abuja.”

Another haven for the governors’ illegal wealth is the United Arab Emirate. Gwadabe told the president to order discrete investigation of two companies in Dubai. “The result will be mindboggling but it will give the president a special impetus to confront the war on corruption with new vigour and that would endear him to the generality of Nigerians who have been systematically impoverished by their greedy leaders,” he said.

Should Jonathan still clinch PDP ticket, Gwadabe revealed that the two camps have agreed to settle for one of two candidates currently working for them. The two men hail from Benue and Plateau. They are both Christians. The strategy is to let the public think that the northern establishment is not desperate about promoting a battle between Christians and Muslims.

In concluding his letter, Gwadabe praised government for prosecuting some of those involved in the $180 million Halliburton scandal. He said the step would put Jonathan ahead of the pack of contestants both in the eyes of Nigerians and of the international community and leverage the hands of government in its fight against corruption. But he urged Jonathan to summon courage and deal with other cases including the Siemens scandal. “For too long this country has been demeaned by the very leaders who were supposed to project its manifest destiny,” he said.

But highly placed sources read a not-too-altruistic mission to Gwadabe’s letter. One of them traced the former colonel’s anger against Babangida, Gusau and Atiku to their failure to rehabilitate him during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo who was jailed alongside him by Abacha in 1995. Newswatch learnt that when Obasanjo became president in 1999, he had planned to rehabilitate all those jailed for the phantom 1995 coup. Gwadabe was to be brought into the security network around the new president. But the job of national security adviser, NSA, was given to a much more experienced Aliyu Gusau. When Gusau resigned from Obasanjo’s government in later years, Gwadabe had hoped to succeed him. But he did not get the job.

Again, he and Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, former governor of Kaduna State, were reportedly penciled down to replace Farida Waziri as chairman of the EFCC but the plan did not sail through. When Gusau returned to government as NSA to Jonathan immediately he became acting president in February 2010, Gwadabe was always visible around him. The calculation, a source hinted, was that since Gusau has presidential ambition and had told Jonathan he would resign at the appropriate time to pursue it, Gwadabe had hoped to step into his shoes as NSA. But he was not given the job when Gusau resigned recently to pursue his presidential ambition.

The source said Gwadabe’s current posture implies a man offering himself for service by providing unsolicited security report on the president’s opponents. Will President Jonathan sign him on? Time will tell.

Group outside Nigeria behind blasts: president

ABUJA — President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday implicated a "small terrorist group that resides outside Nigeria" in independence day bomb blasts that killed at least 12 people.

"It is a small terrorist group that resides outside Nigeria that was paid by some people within to perpetrate the dastardly act," he said according to a statement released by his press office.

"We are on their trail and I promise Nigerians that the matter will be investigated to the last, and until everybody that is connected is brought to book, we will not rest. Government will no longer condone this culture of impunity."

Militant group MEND has claimed responsibility for the Friday bombings, but Jonathan seemed to cast doubt on the author of the claim in the statement.

"There was a statement purported to have been written by MEND, but investigations show that members of MEND have said they don't know about it," the president said.

"Anybody who thinks that he can come under the cover of Niger Delta struggle to perpetrate violence and criminality, your time is over. We will no longer tolerate it, we will not accept it, the security agents are on their trail, and Nigerians will soon know the actors behind this evil."

What massive questions are there? Is there anything wrong for people to meet in a democracy?

Just admit GEJ goofed on this one. Don not allow nepotism to blind you completely from the truth.
The article never said Jonathan refused to meet with MEND. It said Jonathan refused to meet with a group of militants who later met with Buhari and IBB's representatives. You keep saying MEND because you wish to invent a story that never existed (thats how rumour mongers flow, I guess).

So IBB and Buhari met with miscreant militants, because it is a democracy? Wow!
Do you actually realise how that sounds? Would you meet with criminals, because it is a democracy? If not, why should the case be different for IBB and Buhari? There are even rumours that the criminals got 600milla from IBB, lets see if those rumours crystalise into something tangible in the coming days and weeks.

GEJ: people just use the name of MEND to camouflage criminality and terrorism
I really don't see what people find wrong with the above statement. The Niger Delta struggle is legitimate, but terrorism in not, how is that statement wrong? The bombings were clearly criminal and terrorist, so whats wrong with the statement?

Lets not forget that Wole Soyinka is a MEND spokesperson who has praised the organisation in International media previously. Yes, there will always be criminal elements hanging on the coattails of genuine struggle, so if the President says, it wasn't MEND, then it wasn't. Lets sit back and wait for more info, cos it will come.

Once again BEAF, like you always do, why post the news of IBB & Buhari meeting with MEND on this thread again. You have done this on some other threads. What relevance has such news got to do with the bombings and maiming carried out by MEND? If GEJ meets with MEND, why shouldn't the others do same? Besides, that wasn't the first time in MEND's history of carrying out such wicked acts.

@Nsiman,
How many serious Nigerian news media carried the report you keep referring to in thewill? This bonbimg in Abuja is a serious national security issue which shows how the government has failed it's people again and not some ridiculous beer parlor talk from very obscure false peddlers in the likes of the will.

You should admit GEJ is wrong for coming out openly to be MEND's spokesman.
Dude, the article I posted didn't say MEND, it said "militants". There is a huge difference, because not all militants are in MEND. Also it said, while they met successfully with IBB and Buhari's people (to the extent they were going to make a bold public appearance with Buhari), it said quite categorically that Jonathan refused to meet with them. That takes the rung of your strange argument that IBB and Buhari acting like school kids out of jealousy and held their own revenge meetings with militants. Jonathan is quite clearly negotiating on behalf of the govt when holds meetings with security risks to the country; but who exactly do IBB and Buhari represent when they do same? Its a massive question.

Before posting, you need to be sure of your info. 3 people have been arrested so far. Don't let your obvious bias cloud your judgement, cos it won't change the facts.
Lastly, the incident had nothing to do with MEND and abundant information has been provided to back that up, from the words of the President, to the likes of Tompolo; ignoring that info will not change facts. Already, it has become glaring to most Nigerians that a dumbfounding story is emerging, wise people will sit back and wait for facts, not get involved in spreading baseless rumour and innuendo.

•Ex-military president given conditions
By Tribune 05/09/2010 17:00:00

THERE are indications that President Goodluck Jonathan is yet to strike a deal with leaders of key militant groups in the Niger Delta to strengthen his chances of winning the South-South zone if he decides to run in the 2011 presidential election.
Indications to this effect emerged in the light of efforts by leaders of the militants, who had given up on the government amnesty initiative to engage presidential aspirants from the North in exploratory talks on how to fit into their presidential programmes.

Two leaders of militant groups which surrendered arms in the wake of the Federal Government’s amnesty had arrived in Abuja last week to hold talks with northern presidential aspirants, including General Ibrahim Babangida and General Muhammadu Buhari.

Nigerian Tribune learnt through aides of the aspirants that the militants complained that they were not being consulted by President Jonathan.

The militant heads were said to have canvassed a view that their full participation in the ongoing political process would enhance their resolve to finally discard the toga of militancy, just as they reportedly expressed dismay that their efforts to dissolve into the campaign programme of President Jonathan were not being appreciated.

It is not certain which specific roles the militants desired to play in the presidential campaigns of the aspirants, whom they reportedly met. However, it was disclosed that tentative agreements were reached by the campaign team of General Buhari that they should make a bold appearance during his inaugural campaign summit scheduled to take place in Abuja any moment from now.

Checks within the IBB campaign organisation revealed that none of the militant leaders was able to meet the Minna general in person, but reportedly met his aides in Abuja and told them about their desire to feature in his campaign programmes.

When the militants met with the representatives of the ex-president recently, Nigerian Tribune gathered that they vowed to support him if he agreed to a one-term tenure and hand over power to a candidate from the South-South geopolitical zone in 2015.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that Babangida was told to rescind his decision of handing over to a candidate from the South-East, choose a vice-president from South-South, implement the white paper of the Ledun Mittee committee and create additional states in the South-South geopolitical zone.

Investigations by the Nigerian Tribune revealed that the militants were working with notable South-South governors, who were said to be working underground for different northern presidential aspirants following their irreconcilable differences with President Jonathan.

I am not implicating anybody, but militants have successfully met with campaign teams of some presidential candidates. Questions need be asked.

2011: Militants hold secret meetings with IBB, Buhari
•Ex-military president given conditions
By Tribune 05/09/2010 17:00:00
Written by Idowu Samuel and Emmanuel Adeniyi Monday, 06 September 2010

Ex-MEND “Generals” Disown Abuja Blast
Posted By admin On 02 Oct 2010.

Two ex-militants leaders who are members of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta(MEND), Chief Government Ekpemupolo (aka Tompolo) and “General” Ezekiel Akpesibewei of the Egbema based Deadly Underdogs have condemned the Abuja bomb blast which occurred during the celebration of Nigeria’s Independence
In a telephone interview, General Ezekiel expressed disappointment at the bombing saying it was uncalled for as all the militants have accepted the federal government amnesty programme.

An obviously unhappy Tompolo described the attack as barbaric, adding that it has nothing to do with the Niger Delta struggle.

The former MEND ‘General Officer Commanding’ (GOC), who spoke through his media aide, Comrade Paul Bebenimibo, said it was unfortunate that those responsible chose a day as significant as October 1 to carry out the attack.

He particularly lamented that the masterminds of the ‘dastardly attack’ did not consider the presence of world leaders on the scene of the celebration, adding that the incident was against the spirit of the Niger Delta struggle.
Hear him: “I want to condemn this in the strongest word possible; it is unfortunate and very barbaric and it is not part of the Niger Delta struggle. I call on security operatives to work assiduously to ensure that all the cuprits are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.”

He noted that arresting and prosecuting the perpetrators would serve as a deterrent to others who may think of embarrassing the nation. He charged President Goodluck Jonathan to remain focused in spite of the unfortunate incident, adding that he must not allow himself to be distracted from the duty of taking the nation to a higher height.

In a similar statement, the Leader of the National Ijaw Observers Group, Mr. Austine Ozobo expressed disappointment at the bombing saying he did not believe that it was done by Niger Delta militants and suspected that it could be the handiwork of those opposed to Jonathan contesting 2011.

In his comment, the President, Niger Delta Youth Council, Mr. Godwin Ovuomaraini while condemning the Abuja blast in its entirety said the act was very ludicrous, barbaric and a rear show of insanity.”It is unpatriotic, regrettable and uncalled for especially at a time like this when Nigerians are supposed to be appreciation God for his mercies. We pray God should give the families the fortitude to bear the lost and wish those injured quick recovery and urged President Jonathan to ensure that the perpetrators were brought to book

Truth be told, Jonathan is just being foolish by trying to shield MEND.

Since the whole history of the 'struggle', MEND's Jomo Gbomo has used just ONE email address to send all this missives to the press. He copies Times of Nigeria, Reuters, CNN, BBC and a few other news agencies. The emails used to send the bomb threat and the recently released bomb 'apology' all came from the official MEND email address. I have personally confirmed this from an highly informed source.

MEND did the bombing, pure and simple. Killing innocent civilians is not new to them. At Atlas Cove (an attack many of you hailed by the way), MEND gunned down several innocent workers in their indiscriminate assault. So why this haste to exonerate them?

More than anything, i wanted Jonathan to be President, and i still do to some extent (a better choice than IBB). but there is no frigging need to put my brain on holiday just because i want to believe in him. Coming out to defend MEND is a rather SILLY move on Jonathan's part. In the coming years, Nigeria will be severely tested by Boko Haram and their fundamentalist ilk. A president that goes soft on his people will raise serious dust if and when he gets tough on Boko Haram and religious fundamentalists in the north.

Abeg, for once let's start thinking about what is best for Nigeria. That is all.
What if Henry Okah alone, has access to that email address? What if Henry Okah is Jomo Gbomo and is no longer affiliated to MEND? Afterall, all reports refer to him as the former leader of MEND.

Gayigaskia:
So GEJ says he knows the suspects of this blast not MEND. If that is the case what is taking the justice department too long  to start the job of arresting the suspects and arraign them. He is making these claims while the suspect is watching and is being given enough time to complete the job ( overturned the president ) or flee the country.  As a President i don't think Jonathan should have made any claim as such before making arrests that is very immature and dumb announcement.
Have you heard that Henry Okah, the FORMER LEADER of MEND has been arrested after having his home searched by Interpol, prior to the celeberations?
Perhaps passports have been quietly siezed or the suspects had already ensconced themselves abroad long before Friday (knowing they might be wanted). Lets stop speculating until info on all events attached to the bombing has been released.

Nigerians deserve to know what happened on Friday - if Jonathan says Mend are not responsible then he should as well tell who is behind it. It is not enough to say Mend is innocent of the attack when they already put out a statement claiming responsibility - Jonathan's position is not acceptable to any right-thinking person.

The Mend issue is a sensitive one - more so for Goodluck Jonathan so he could use some professional help next time- he should know what to say and when to to say it.  He cannot be seen as a sympathizer of Mend - some of us still think Mend is nothing but a criminal and terrorist organization that should be treated as such.
"Deserve to know?!"
Dude, walk up to the SSS headquarters and tell the that you "deserve to know."
Babies too "deserve to know" what brought them into this World. I wonder why they don't get the full info until they are adults? Before then its stuff like, "daddy rubs mummies tummy," (which GEJ has given you) or the good ol' unrecommended "shut up!"

Actually you both are the ones who amaze the rest of us all on NL. GEJ is on record to be the first president in the world who has decided to embrace terrorists as his brothers and his people against the well being and security of the rest of Nigerians at large. The fact remains that, the Abuja bombings were not the first attempts of MEND. If MEND claims responsibility, and the same MEND has apologized to 9jans for their dastardly acts, it is highly disappointing for the numero Uno (Number One) citizen of the country to rush to their defense. If MEND were not the culprits, why was Henry Okah arrested in SA?

Let's assume that GEJ has more information as you both mentioned, why has he not picked the so called "person" behind the wicked attacks? GEJ is lamely attempting to subvert the course of justice because it involves "his people". Our C&C is more of an ND president than Nigerian president and his pronouncement yesterday is nothing shot of treason as he prefers to protect his ND brothers than the whole of Nigeria thus opposing the Nigerian constitution which he swore to uphold.
One thing is clear; no NLer knows more than the President about this issue, so lets cut the beer palour talk. If Jonathan has said it wasn't MEND, then you can be 99.99% sure he is correct. The man has info fromm both internal intelligence and foreign govt agencies. I'll add, of course, that you have zero.

As to why Henry Okah was arrested (and how, in your opinion, that ties MEND in); it is unfortunate and quite telling, that that beer palour analysis, the evidence is all around us. Every news agency has reported Okah as the FORMER LEADER of MEND. The thing intelligent minds would do at this time, is wait for the full info to come out and find out who Okah's new master is.

The rest of your post is low, tribalistic crap. Shame.

See i live in Abuja i pass there almost everyday while i dont think you are in Abuja

Then why the hell did i write that people trekked to the eagle square?

See it is not very close as it is being said Where is Becomerich when he is needed?

I dont rush to speak well maybe ppl here do but i rush to think and annaylse the situation properly
It really doesn't matter if you live in Abuja or not. What matters is the accuracy of the news we've both heard. Anyways, don't take offense, because I said you rush to speak.
It has been reported that the road where two explosions went off, was sealed to enhance the security of events at Eagle Square. So it was within proximity of Eagle Square. It is also being reported that it is less than a kilometer from where GEJ was. Can you see where I am coming from?

What about the members of the public that were allowed to view from uncomfortably close proximity?

ElRazur:
Beaf, you have no solid proof and at best, circumstantial "evidence". undecided
Solid proof of what? I only asked questions, I haven't set out to prove anything.

ElRazur:
I don't want to be involved in one lengthy debate, so I will just answer your question and keep it simple as much as I can.
One. Naija is not the best when it comes to security. Come on now, do not frame the question in such a way that suggest that Naija security are good at perimeter security etc. Is it not the same security forces that was unable to protect the president convoy when he got rammed by a taxi driver? Come on now, be reasonable.
I don't understand why you are repeating my very first question to me in a lot of words.
This is my first question; "•How were the miscreants able to smuggle bombs so close to a tightly secure area in which the President was speaking?"
Its practically the same thing you've said.

ElRazur:
Two. While we rumble and make plenty noise about how big we are and the giant of Africa, please note that fire-safety drills and things like emergency evacuation are strange concept to majority of naijans. Prior to the celebration, were there ever a practice run of possible emergency or were there expert who are good at crowd control and management (with emergency experience) called in? Probably no. So trying to lay the blame, given the fact that we are poor are these things is just a bit lame.
All security needed to do was tell people to move, if possible with koboko (at least thats our style). Easy as ABC.
When people either realise that their lives are in danger, their speed tends to improve. grin
I can bet you that people evacuated themselves after the explosions.

ElRazur:
Three. In third world nations, it is one of the characteristics that violence tend to mar potential power struggles (Election, death of a leader, coup etc)

Anyway, you get my point and no, I have no problem with Igbo/MEND/whatever (This part is not directed at you, but those who may miss the point and get crazy)
True.
