AutoJoshNG: Driving in another man's land could be an adventure to some while being a nightmare to others. In order to have an effortless experience, it is important to have an understanding of the driving laws that apply to such land. Therefore, you need to equip yourself with the following information on the requirements for driving in Nigeria before you do:
1) You must be familiar with the Nigeria road network or use a GPS (Global Positioning System) for easy navigation. 2) Show evidence that you are permitted to import your vehicle temporarily (if any) into Nigeria. 3) Ensure that the vehicle you are driving is road worthy and has the following :
* Vehicle licence. * Vehicle Inspection Certificate. * Proof of Ownership Certificate. * Road Worthiness Certificate. * National Vehicle Identification Tag * Any other vehicle document that is deemed to be relevant.
4) Ensure that such vehicle carry the number plate of the country of origin affixed to the appropriate spaces at the front and rear of the vehicle. 5) If the vehicle is to remain in Nigeria for more than 90 days, you are required to change the number plate to a Nigerian number plate. 6) Ensure that you have an international driving permit issued from your country as well as your country's normal driving licence. 7) If you intend to drive in Nigeria for more than 30 days, you must obtain the appropriate Nigeria driver's licence for the category of your vehicle.
Ensure you have details of your host, local agent of the organization you are representing and your country's embassy in case you miss your way.
We'd like to hear your experience while driving in a foreign country.

marylandcakes: At the moment Nigeria is very unstable, uprise of the Niger delta , the Biafra movement in the east and boko haram in the north. I won't risk it right now. I'm very pro Nigeria and patriotic, at the same time I am very practical and would not take unnecessary risk especially with my kids. Most Nigerians that can afford it are sending their kids abroad and those that can't are sending them to Ghana. The Educational system in Nigeria is messed and the few good private schools are overpriced or full of spoilt rich kids. thats the one that gets me most. scares the hell out of me. |

NL1960: Iam sure many people here will tell you that you should not try it and that boarding schools are bad. Are the day schools not equally bad.
To me it is a good idea. You can have a talk with your brothers. If they were satisfied with the conduct of their kids after schooling in Nigeria, then you are good to go. My son told me that there are four(4) people in his JSS 1 set presently that came from abroad. Two(2) from US, One(1) each from Canada and UK. The problem with some of the boarding schools especially that of the Catholic schools is that they do not have common entrance centres outside the country. Yea. My nieces and nephews that passed thru the stage seem to have done wellish The best thing I see in them is how free they are wen in Nigeria. They go out on their own and even drive in lagos. They are more Nigerian than me. My niece even attempted to fight one area boy that was asking us for money to get into the beach in lekki I was just begging and shaking like a leaf. I def want to explore it. Am hoping some schools have centres abroad where foreign students can take their exams |

barackodam: Adesoye College Offa!!!!!!
The thing is, it doesn't necessarily have to be boarding school. It's more about sending them home to grow up in their land so as not to forget where they came from.
I had a classmate in senior school, his parents are based abroad he's living with his uncle in Nigeria, after sec skul, he went back to his parents abroad.
So, bring them home and let them learn about their father land and not be, "they said Nigeria is *****", or "I wish I know what Nigeria exactly is"
But at the same time, different strokes for different folks
Dats Wat I wud like but there is no one they can stay with. |
Education › Re: Sending Kids Born Abroad To Boarding School In Nigeria. by bebe2(op): 10:11am On Jul 10, 2016 |
Amoto94: I will advise you to send them to a good day school as the evil that's going on in most of our boarding schools are unspeakable, or better keep them over there and teach them manners yourself. Day school is not an option. There is no one they can stay with in Nigeria. It's not necessarily about manners it's about culture and having a different experience. Lol @"adorably corrupt" |

Good day , Just thinking aloud. Is it ever OK to send kids born abroad to boarding school in Nigeria? My brothers in America did this for all four of his kids, they all went to adesoye college . Second brother did same. Loyola jesuit. Now am considering all options as my kids grow older. What are different advantages and disadvantages of sending kids to boarding house as oppose to letting them stay in Europe and continue with their schooling |
Politics › Re: Nigeria has finished me!! by bebe2(f): 1:08am On Jul 10, 2016 |
Optimist1: My sister, Nigerian churches are most concern with raising millionaires instead of Disciples that can serve God in truth and in spirit.
Most churches forget to pray for our fellow brothers and sisters in the north who are dying everyday for the sake of jihad. Is that christianity without love or what? Rather, people will be praying to God for break-through, success, long-life etc while they cannot go for evangelism to win souls to God but they are expecting God should put things right. Besides, we are just marketers here on earth and our target is suppose to be on the kingdom not on the things of this earth that will someday be destroyed.
Would you like to see yourself in hell fire when you die? I know is not your wish but are you living for God or for yourself? Ask yourself and scrutinize yourself.
It might look nonsense to you but I tell you the truth if only God will open your eyes to see the things of spirituality, you will understand what i'm writing to you. And I pray He does, therefore my sister, most Nigerian churches are not serving God in truth and spirit.
You are welcome to join God's fellowship with us. Fellowship for all christian brothers and sisters from different churches, irrespective of which church you come from. For our Lord Jesus is one and He cannot be divided therefore, segregation is forbidden in our mist.
It is called JESUS DISCIPLES FELLOWSHIP. This is the end time we have to worship God in spirit and in truth. Am happy for you. |
Politics › Re: Nigeria has finished me!! by bebe2(f): 11:58am On Jul 09, 2016 |
Optimist1: Yes brother, you are correct but, the only thing that can bring this matter into positive effectiveness, is by drawing closely to God in relationship as to be empowered so that by the time we ask God for change of state of how things are moving about in this country (Nigeria), our prayers can be impacted. For the word of God says, the prayers of the righteous availeth much unto God.
If we all can be righteous before God, then what is it that will make our prayers not to be heard and answered before God? Absolutely nothing. So my brother, if God is excluded from the issue of Nigeria then, we are deceiving ourselves. Let's put things right by coming to God. Hahaha u think it's unrighteousness dat Nigeria is being punished for? U think we don't pray or worship God hard enough? Nothing spiritual is wrong it's all physical. If we give as much attention to the physical like we give the spiritual, things will start to change. |
