fastestshipper: It is a fair quote. What else could you have expected based on cost of materials at the moment. I looked at this quote very well and I can't see anything wrong with it. The person who made this quote was fair enough making this quote.
What you should now do is to buy your own materials based on the quote given to you and negotiate the labor cost. Hm Maybe I need a cheaper plan then, I normally send him money as am not in the country. |
Properties › Re: Estimated Cost Of My 6flat Foundation. Overpriced?? by bebe2(op): 4:54pm On Dec 22, 2016 |
spyder880: The quote is questionable enough. Under this present price regime, you cannot do this foundation of that house I am seeing with N1.539m.
1. The cement quantity is so small that I doubt if he plans to do an over site concrete on the foundation. If you blind that foundation, cast the column bases and then cast the pillars, you would have spent over 100 bags on 3 flats foundation.
2. 2000 blocks will be too little to do this size of foundation if the foundation depth is up to 1 meter and you plan to raise the foundation high enough to prevent flooding. I don't understand why you have to use 6" blocks inside the foundation? Is that the design of the building? Can we see the structural drawing page?
3. The excavation for only N65k? Maybe the land is too soft or trench not too deep. What depth did the structural drawing prescribe? Bro sorry wats an overcast?? There is no filing in this quotation oo, just to set the foundation out. |

EngrOsas: Don't say that, look at the plan perfectly well. How will u say setting out is 10,000. Is he setting out a shop Yea, I understand the setting out, but 65k for clearing?? No wood to be uprooted oo 155k for bricklayer??but at 50# per block , 2000 block comes to 100k I think he inflated the labour, How much does iron bender charge per ton? But less than 2tons ? He is charging about 150k. AM a woman so still learning. |

Chekitaut: Location? Which type of foundation are you doing? Available Drawing?
Iron bender labour 18k/ton, meanwhile you are buying the rings already price have to come down Carpenter is high block setting is N50/block Setting out N10,000 Granite 20tons N110,000 Sand 20tons N50,000 2x3 N350each Binding wire 10kg N3000
in short all is questionable anywhere in Lagos Location is opic estate , badagry express way, agbara axis. It's a dry land. So regular upstairs foundation. I think the blocks are too much, 2000 blocks to foundation?? How many blocks would then then finish the house? And if iron bender is 18k a ton, am using 1/4 and 3/4 which is a total of 2tons approximately, which should be 18x2=36k , so why am I being charged almost 200k? Will upload the plan

Hello all I want to your opinion on this estimate, i think it's its high but my contractor insists there is no west we could do it cheaper. Foundation for 6 flats, i.e Of 2bedroom each. 3flats ground floor and 3flats upstairs. Is there any area of this estimate that we might be able to reduce to make a saving? mdokaba1: You almost let a tear drop. I remember while growing up, each time any of my loved ones got sick. And maybe asleep due to the illness (which is normal)
I check into the room almost on hourly bases to check if they still have breath in those nostrils. And when my mind plays a game on me that he or she probably ain't breathing, I call his or her name or tap him or her hard till I seesee him or her move in order to clear my doubt
I fear the death of a loved one like hell. And never to have experienced it frightens me the most. I have only experienced the death of some nebors, and it got me sleepless for several nights. It's really scary, if u are someone with a lot of empathy it's difficult not to feel that way. |
Nairaland General › Re: What Is Your Greatest Fear? by bebe2(f): 12:09am On Dec 20, 2016 |
Legend87: You have to diminish such fears from you. Else, you'll end up experiencing what you fear most. It's good to check up on kids at night while asleep. But not with a negative thought. I know, it's social media dat is making it worse, too many bad news and u can't help but wonder how painful it can be if such befalls a person. |

accountbalance: Goodluck to you on re-orientation of these gullible people's mindset. This is actually where most of the problem we have in Nigeria stems from.
Everyday I see people living their lives based on archaic superstitions and believes.
For instance, my educated aunt almost lost her life while giving birth in a church because she thought some evil spirit in the family were after her unborn child so she refused to go for antenatal. Of course, the poor foetus died due to unhealthy delivery.
I really love the way you are trying to open people's mind to critical thinking but I just don't know if it's possible to correct so many people's thought. People's mind have been really messed up in this part of the world, no thanks to our pastors and prophets. u lucky ur aunt survived. same thing happened to my brother in laws wife. she had a lot of complication with her first child, had her premature, the husband who lived in germany sent down loads of money to make sure both mother and child survived, which they did. then she got pregnant again , and decided to go to JESUS WOMEN CHURCH for spiritual care becos she didnt want the evil spirit to make her have caesarean again, her feet were swollen but she didnt go to hospital she was using anointing oil on it. long story cut short, one morning she woke up, blacked out, she was rushed to different hospital no one cud help, until they got to st philomena, by then the child was already dead, she herself never recovered, she died few days later. lesson learnt. person also need apply common sense in alot of situations. |

Acidosis: Funny thing is majority of those who liked Seun's posts are parts of the Christian family. Very disgraceful and easily deceived delusional and faithless illiterate Christians who don't know the difference between the right and the left.
At the sound of an irrational post from an atheist, you see them doubting their faith as shown in the likes. i already liked it before i checked to see it was seun. the guy is quiet intellectual. ancestral causes indeed. d only thing i see is colour (Race) curses. pls can any one tell me one country , one field or one profession were the black race has excelled. |

AnonymousProf: Hello Nairalanders!
I am trying to invest #20m in getting a property. The area I want to get the property is not a virgin place. So the possibility of buying just land and designing to my taste is out of the question. I intend having a block of 4 flats in the least or 6 flats if possible. Is it more cost effective to buy a BUNGALOW at a cheaper rate and then convert to my choice OR an OLD STOREY-BUILDING? Or are there better options? Is it also better to contract out the building of the property to well established companies since I am not based in NIgeria?
Please, professional suggestions or practical experiences only.
Thanks. Welcome to the struggle, I have been on it for over a year. 20m budget depends on the location u need. There are 4flats for 20m I got one in ikotun but I didn't want to go that far. And u will need more funds to update it. |
