What's the meaning of this? Someone asked a practical question, you are giving a motivational answer! @ op you had better know that the course is useless if you are looking to make a career from it. However, there are professions that need just any degree like civil service, banking, police force etc. So it's your decision- if you want to do any of these nonspecific degree professions or you can pick a flair in say photography or interior decor, you can enjoy the course. Otherwise you had better prepare well for another jamb next year

Excellent decision!! You see while PwC gives an international touch to your CV, reality is you will garner far more experience with a strong Nigerian IB firm like FBN capital or Vetiva. It is much easier for you to join pwc from a stanbic capital than to join stanbic capital from pwc. The second is a career upgrade.
So great decision. Let the 80 hour weeks begin.

I accepted the Boutique firm offer. Note that, you do not need CFA for a core IBK role. In addition, the CFA charter is useful for asset management and and research roles, I may not be writing the CFA if I was not in Naija. I once worked in a Bulge Bracket(think a JP Morgan) IBK firm outside of the country and I could count(with my fingers) the numbers of Bankers that had CFA. They value what you can do more on the job than the certificate you have, outside of Naija. Again, PE firms also cherish 2-3 years IBK experience before taking you in.

U already know you have to come back for the two reasons of ptdf bond and UK labor policy. - so question is would you get a job on coming back? - in dose days (up to 2013) you come back from UK oil related msc, u get job with Halliburton, shell or at least some design firm or small drilling company. cos money was flowing very well at a pressure head of $120+ and as such there were a lot of opportunities and new projects.
At a head of $50 , not so many new job vacancies exist. Mobil recruited last for engr trainees in 2012. Total plc a very long while ago. Haliburton, schlum and chevron haven't recruited since 2013.
Now ur course is just one year its highly risky to think things would change drastically in a year.

You might really be passionate about chemical Engr. but I guess u need to find another interest that is more practicable in our current Nigerian society.

Another option if u r willing to become a foreigner is to go to Canada and some other ice freezing countries and do MS etc..

Another workable option is to go on a year's leave at your work place or determine if you can easily get jobs along your current line when you come back. (for sales , it should be) - this is in case you are not part of the lucky few that scale through shell recruitment day then. (Shell still recruits few trainees each year).

There is no smart business in Nigeria anymore since the vegetable and his band of thieves took over. Except you are into yahoo, prostitution, round tipping of currency, bunkering, kidnapping and other vices or you simply chose to do online business and operate from home instead of mortar and brick office. As an enterprenuer, the moment you get a shop/office, buy generator, employ staff, pay FG, SG & LG levies, pay rent, pay PHCN bill whether they give light or not etc, you will suddenly see yourself mirred in deficit! Nigeria is a dream killer! I will advice youths that just left the higher institutions or those between the ages of 22 and 30 to live this Godforsaken country ASAP, if you cant afford visa to prime countries like USA, UK, Canada, Australia etc, then consider other African countries. ANYWHERE IS BETTER THAN NIGERIA NOW!!

I strongly advice AGAINST this. There is no where like home- not because dey care for u or cos of d comfort but simply because u r d owner of ur home- nobody can decide to deport u or call u a monkey.
There are opportunities for youths in d country-though I agree they it can b difficult atimes. But trust me if u sample d opinions of dose who have been out of d country for long, more than half would advise against it

You need to communicate clearer- what's d meaning of bond decision measurements? How can u measure a decision - is it a quantity? What d heck is marginal rate?
Deir is rate of returns, yield rate, coupon rate but not marginal rate!
