FamilyRe: My Husband Wants To Know Everything About My Finances. by Bejusttoall: 10:54pm On Jun 06, 2020
UzorChinonso:
Good day Nairalanders, I have been married for just a year now and it has not been easy here! My Husband wants to know every thing about my finance. He has disturbed me to know how much is my salary worth of.

I have always denied him of the fact, what I know is that I used my money to refurbish our flat, got some new things to change the outlook of the place....

But I am not really finding it funny any longer. As we speak, he collected my ATM card since last two weeks, said I must tell him the pin or I should forget having it back. I went to my bank, told them that I lost the card and they changed it for me last Friday and he collected it again said it's either I tell him the pin or he will do something funny ...

I don't know what funny thing he's gonna do but I am worried! Pls is this how marriage is?
He claims to own me and own my salary! Is it fair? This marriage is too early instead I would have quit and I am pregnant at the moment!
What do I do? I don't want anybody to know anything about my finances including him till I have my baby whom my spirit accepted that I should make my next of kin.

What do I do ?
Get in touch with Cynthia Velarian Raphaels on Facebook, you will thank me later.

I am an As and I am getting married to an As. I love this girl so much that I am moving forward to marry her.

We have done our introduction and our traditional marriage is next month. I know the complications of an As marrying As in the issues of children they might give birth to. But I have no choice. I want to marry the love of my life.
Please consider the excruciating pains you are about to expose your unborn children to, therefore rethink. Though I don't know the level of your faith in God, because with God, all things are possible .

Part 11

Conclusion

When the testing time shall come, those who have made God's word their rule of life will be revealed. In summer there is no noticeable difference between evergreens and other trees; but when the blasts of winter come, the evergreens remain unchanged, while other trees are stripped of their foliage. So the falsehearted professor may not now be distinguished from the real Christian, but the time is just upon us when the difference will be apparent. Let opposition arise, let bigotry and intolerance again bear sway, let persecution be kindled, and the halfhearted and hypocritical will waver and yield the faith; but the true Christian will stand firm as a rock, his faith stronger, his hope brighter, than in days of prosperity.
Says the psalmist: "Thy testimonies are my meditation." "Through Thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way." Psalm 119:99, 104.
"Happy is the man that findeth wisdom." "He shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." Proverbs 3:13; Jeremiah 17:8.

Chapter 37
The Great Controversy
E.G. White
This is what our prayer section dealt with today. Luke 4 : 1-14 is our guiding text. It is all about the temptation of Jesus Christ by satan. We are made to know that as a Christian, we should expect temptation, not just once, but until the end. We are also made to know that satan will tempt a Christian in a subtle ways, and that satan tempts base on the needs of an individual, pleasure of life, and who you are in God as seen in the temptations of Jesus Christ respectively. Jesus overcame the temptations through the word, so also we also must allow the word of God to dwell richly in us.
Shalom.
LiteratureI Can't Breath By Olaonipekun Sr 111 by Bejusttoall(op): 10:18pm On May 30, 2020
I CAN’T BREATHE

I can’t breathe

Knee to my jugular

My necks are hurting

My lungs need fresh air

The pains run over

Why you doing this to me

Hands tied already

Run your investigation

Am still innocent until proven guilty

Really helpless

Hear my plea

I deserve to live

Chance to survive

Have gone over many hurdles

Not time to be prejudicial or jaundiced

Does my skin make me a target?

The concrete is not my friend

The ground is not my bed

So sad my plea and cries fell on deaf ears

But you end up terminating my life

8 minutes and 46 seconds of pain

What is your gain?

I can’t breathe
I can’t breathe
Sitting at the passenger side of the BMW
They open fire
Multiple gunshots
The car is grounded
Open up the door
Bullets already lodged in my body
I see death around the corner but
I murdered it first
Where the paramedics at
Ambulance arrives
Am a straight soldier
Got an heart of steel
Going to survive another day
Being through this stage before
But it was written
7 days later
Breathe my last

I can’t breathe
Caught on camera
Never go unnoticed
I am not smiling
My heart needs oxygen
The blood can’t circulate
The veins and arteries pressured
Body shivering on the street
Now am stone dead
World left in a state of shock
Mr Cop, I don’t think you know what you have done
See what a rush of adrenaline has caused
There is a massive rampage
It’s a riot and retaliation
Still has a resonating voice in death
Both black and white in unison
This must end
There must be justice
This is 2020 times

I can’t breathe
Can’t close my eyes to sleep
Having nightmares
Of cops and sirens
Would I get to see the next day?
The odds are stacked against me
In a challenge with fate
You come as a foe
I come as a friend
Check the statistics
How many get past their 25th birthday
Give us a chance
Don’t beat us down
We got magic
Snuff the breathe outta our nostril
Let us live in peace

I can’t breathe
The stench is too much
The suffering is choking
The poverty has polluted the air
The despondency hangs like a halo
The hatred is contagious
The disparity is demeaning
Am preoccupied everyday
You jump on my tired body
My weak knees succumbed
Like a cookie, just crumble and tumbling down
Even with my unhealthy state
Continue to choke me when I was short of breathe
It all ended in misery and tears
The senseless murders just a recurring decimal
We supposed to have moved passed this stage

It happens down here too
Can’t go around peacefully with a laptop
Carry some kind of phone
You are not comfortable of being not stopped
Dress fashionable, prim and proper
You are a suspect
Drive certain cars
They term your ways are shady
Police harassment is an everyday thing
We are in the eyes of the storm
Show us some love
We are your brothers
We come in peace always

This goes out to those lives cut short prematurely
End police harassment
End police brutality

Part 8

All who value their eternal interests should be on their guard against the inroads of skepticism. The very pillars of truth will be assailed. It is impossible to keep beyond the reach of the sarcasms and sophisms, the insidious and pestilent teachings, of modern infidelity. Satan adapts his temptations to all classes. He assails the illiterate with a jest or sneer, while he meets the educated with scientific objections and philosophical reasoning, alike calculated to excite distrust or contempt of the Scriptures. Even youth of little experience presume to insinuate doubts concerning the fundamental [601] principles of Christianity. And this youthful infidelity, shallow as it is, has its influence. Many are thus led to jest at the faith of their fathers and to do despite to the Spirit of grace. Hebrews 10:29. Many a life that promised to be an honor to God and a blessing to the world has been blighted by the foul breath of infidelity. All who trust to the boastful decisions of human reason and imagine that they can explain divine mysteries and arrive at truth unaided by the wisdom of God are entangled in the snare of Satan

To Be Continued.....
Nothing but the truth. This is what I was discussing with a Danish lady some days ago. Some have are been carried away by the scientific researches to the extent that they now believe that there is no God anywhere. May God help us to stand firm till the end in Jesus mighy name, amen.

Part 10

Many are deceived as to their true condition before God. They congratulate themselves upon the wrong acts which they do not commit, and forget to enumerate the good and noble deeds which God requires of them, but which they have neglected to perform. It is not enough that they are trees in the garden of God. They are to answer His expectation by bearing fruit. He holds them accountable for their failure to accomplish all the good which they could have done, through His grace strengthening them. In the books of heaven they are registered as cumberers of the ground. Yet the case of even this class is not utterly hopeless. With those who have slighted God's mercy and abused His grace, the heart of [602] long-suffering love yet pleads. "Wherefore He saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, . . . redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Ephesians 5:14-16

Conclusion Next.....
Nice one. Yeah, there is still time fir one to retrace his/her steps and do what pleases God. The issue with most of we Christian is that we are hearers of the word and not the doers. May HIS grace be sufficient for us.
RomanceRelationship Tips by Bejusttoall(op): 9:45am On May 27, 2020
The moment you start a relationship or you get married, let one of your first assignments be to make your partner become your best friend.

You don’t need someone who will be commanding you or punishing you as though they are your father or mother, you need a friend you can play with, who can correct you and still make you feel secure.
__________
When you are in a relationship, don’t be overwhelmed by emotions; don’t ignore negative attitudes. If you see any, address it calmly with wisdom. *With wisdom I said o!

However, there are some negative attitudes that when you see, it will be an indication that you are courting either trouble or potential trouble.

I will talk about two of it; if you have hears, please listen! OK?
__________
When you notice that the person you want to marry is cheating, you don’t have to continue in such relationship.

You don’t need to ask questions whether you should quit or not, simply use your common sense.

A cheating fiancé/fiancée will LIKELY still be a cheating husband/wife.

Such person is not a Christian because God does not have a sinning child.

Never manage a sinner for marriage so you don't start enduring hell while still on earth.

Marriage does not change much about people unless they have encounter with Jesus Christ and get really born again.

Marriage will only change the nomenclature from fornication to adultery. That’s all. So, please act wise!
__________
Secondly, don’t take an angry or a nagging partner for granted; I’m sure you don’t deserve a lifetime relationship with such person.

Let your partner know sincerely that it is wrong of them to get angrily shout or nag at you.

Anyone who raises his/her voice or shout at you angrily while you are still unmarried will LIKELY slap or beat you when you marry him/her.

Any habit taken into marriage multiplies, whether good or bad.
__________
Let me give you one more cheap advice;

Go and study how the person you want to marry relates with or treat his/her siblings and parents because very soon, that’s the same way he/she will start treating you and your parents.

If you notice anything you are not comfortable with, don’t be sentimental or madly or blindly in love, talk frankly about it.

True love is not blind; it is infatuation that blinds people's eyes, especially those who block the signals coming from their common sense.

You see, when you get things right in courtship or in your pre-wedding relationship, you will also LIKELY get it right in marriage.

I pray that your relationship/marriage will be an encouragement to us and a model of excellence in Jesus name. Amen.

Thank you very much for reading.

Christianity EtcReasons For Accepting Jesus Christ By Nabeel Qureshi by Bejusttoall(op): 10:21am On Mar 14, 2020
1. M0hammad was the prophet of war; Christ is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6-7).

2. M0hammad’s disciples killed for the faith; Christ’s disciples were killed for their faith (Acts 12:2; 2 Timothy 4:7).

3. M0hammad promoted persecution against the “infidels”; Christ forgave and converted the chief persecutor (1 Timothy 1:13-15).

4. M0hammad was the taker of life; Christ was the giver of life (John 10:27-28).

5. M0hammad and his fellow warriors murdered thousands; Christ murdered none but saved many (compare John 12:48).

6. M0hammad’s method was COMPULSION; Christ’s aim was voluntary CONVERSION (Acts 3:19).

7. M0hammad practiced FORCE; Christ preached FAITH (John 6:29,35).

8. M0hammad was a WARRIOR; Christ is a DELIVERER (Col. 1:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:10).

9. M0hammad conquered his enemies with the sword; Christ conquered his enemies with another kind of sword, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (Hebrews 4:12; Acts 2:37).

10. M0hammad said to the masses, “Convert or die!”; Christ said, “Believe and live!” (John 6:47; 11:25-26).

11. M0hammad was swift to shed blood (Romans 3:15-17); Christ shed His own blood for the salvation of many (Ephesians 1:7).

12. M0hammad preached “Death to the infidels!”; Christ prayed “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34).

13. M0hammad declared a holy war (Jihad) against infidels; Christ achieved a holy victory on Calvary’s cross (Colossians 2:14-15) and His followers share in that victory (John 16:33).

14. M0hammad constrained people by conquest; Christ constrained people by love (2 Corinthians 5:14). Modern terrorists derive their inspiration from M0hammad and carry out their despicable atrocities in the name of his god; Christians derive their inspiration from the One who said, “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9). Modern day disciples of M0hammad respond to the terrorist attacks by cheering in the streets; Modern day disciples of Christ are deeply grieved at past atrocities carried out by those who were “Christians” in name only (the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, etc.).

15. Many M0slems are peaceful and peace-loving because they do not strictly follow the teachings of their founder; Many Christians are peaceful and peace-loving because they do strictly follow the teachings of their Founder (Romans 12:17-21).

16. M0hammad said the Koran is authoritative only in Arabic, and only in his dialect; The Bible is authoritative in many languages around the world, for God knows all things and can inspire His Word in more than one language.

17. M0hammad hated music; Jesus and His disciples sang hymns, and the Apostle commanded the Lord’s Church to sing. (Matthew 26:30, Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)

18. M0hammad allowed that a Mullah, Imam, or Mufti of 1slam can be a terrorist and moral animal like the late Osama bin Laden or Al-Baghdai; The Bible requires that a leader in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ must be above reproach, and when this is not true, Christians demand such a fallen leader be removed from leadership. (1 Timothy 3:1-7, 5:19-20)

19. 1slam calls on its followers to observe Five Pillars, while all other aspects of life can be vulgar and not affect the M0slem’s prospects in Paradise. The Bible calls on the Christian to submit to the total change of his life by the Spirit of God– NO area of life and thought is the choice of the follower. (Romans 12:1-2)

20. M0slem looks forward to eternity in Paradise where there will be virgins who are used for eternal perpetual copulation. The Bible believing Christian looks forward to being with Jesus Christ and is delighted with that. (2 Corinthians 5:cool

21. M0hammad said the witness of a woman was half the value of the witness of a man; and M0hammad said a women goes to Paradise because she satisfies her husband sexually; The Bible teaches that a husband is to love his wife and be willing to die for her. (Ephesians 5:25)

22. M0hammad called upon his servants to fight; Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world; if My kingdom were of this world, then would My servants fight . . .but now is My kingdom not from here” (John 18:36)

23. M0hammad ordered death to the Jews (see A.Guillaume, The Life of M0hammad, Oxford University Press [1975], p. 369); Christ ordered that the gospel be preached “to the Jew first” (Romans 1:16).

24. The Koran says, “Fight in the cause of Allah” (Qur'an 2.244); The Bible says, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood” and “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal” (Ephesians 6:12; 2 Corinthians 10:4).

25. The Koran says, “Fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them” (Qur'an 9.5); Christ said, “Preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15).

26. The Koran says, “I will inspire terror into the hearts of unbelievers” (Qur'an 8.12); God inspires His terror into the hearts of believers (Isaiah 8:13).

27. The K0ran is a terrorist manual which condones fighting, conflict, terror, slaughter, and genocide against those who do not accept 1slam; The Bible is a missionary manual to spread the gospel of peace to all the world (Romans 10:15).

28. M0hammad’s Mission was to conquer the world for Allah; Christ’s mission was to conquer sin’s penalty and power by substitutionary atonement (2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 3:18).

29. M0hammad considered Christ a good prophet; Christ pronounced M0hammad to be a false prophet (John 10:10; Matthew 24:11).

30. M0hammad claimed that there was but one God, Allah; Christ claimed that He was God (John 10:30-31; John 8:58-59; John 5:18; John 14:9).

31. 1slam is geocentric, that is, the whole universe is centered on the Kaaba in the Grand mosque in Mecca in Arabia, and all M0slems pray facing that direction; Jesus Christ is the center of all Christian worship and fellowship, for He is “in the midst” where his saints meet anywhere on earth. (Matthew 18:20, John 4:22-23)

32. M0hammad’s Tomb: OCCUPIED! Christ’s tomb: EMPTY!

33. 1slam must be received, or you can be killed for rejecting it: The Faith offered by Jesus Christ is for “whosoever will” to receive, and all men are permitted to reject it. (Revelation 22:17, John 3:16)

34. Those who leave Islam are killed in most 1slamic nations; Those who leave the true Church of Jesus Christ are allowed to do so with no revenge.

35. Now, is a M0slem submitted to Allah and 1slam because he loves Allah? NO! He dare not leave 1slam, and he is loyal purely out of fear. The true Bible believer is loyal to Jesus Christ purely out of love. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him, because he first loved us.

36. M0hammad invented his cult to enrich himself and only the rich M0hammadans (1% of M0hammadan’s 1 billion population) and those ready to spent all their life’s savings can fulfill the requirements of 5 pillars, especially the Hajj (Pilgrimage to the pagan shrine Kaa’ba in Mecca). The other pillar the poor can’t fulfill is #Zakat (compulsory charity). The other pillar than the rich can be exempt from is #Fasting by feeding the poor. Jesus preached the Good News (Gospel) to all across the social-economic divide and no one is exempt from following His commandments.

Jesus was never a moslem, he is the saviour, he loves you and wants to save you today.

“Dear God, I grieve that I have sinned against You. As a sinner, I’m worthy of death in hell. But I believe You sent Your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for sin and rise from the dead in victory. I now turn from following my own sinful desires and from trying to reach heaven through my own works. I trust in the Lord Jesus alone as my Savior from sin. I love You, Lord, and submit myself to follow You by Your Word, the Bible. Amen!”

FamilyRe: Celebrating A Good Wife by Bejusttoall: 4:29pm On Feb 26, 2020
LagosBoi2:
It is your birthday my darling wife, I have to make public this letter because you are the best thing that ever happened to my life and I can't keep silent anymore.

My friend and lover of 16 straight years, It is usual for husbands to appreciate their wives in the name of marriage but it is unusual to state reasons for the appreciation.

I think you don't just love, there should be genuine reasons to love, I will purge out my thoughts on the reasons you should be the most celebrated wife on earth.

As a young man, if all you ever wish for is to meet your partner a virgin, I personally NEVER wished for it but women who still keep their virginity against all odds for the right man should be specially celebrated in today's crazy world. Amazingly I can confidently say that I am the only man in her life for 16yrs until date, she is a completely faithful wife.

We have never had any issues over infidelity on her part during our courtship and marriage till date, I have been the one misbehaving through the years, growing up was crazy, I was the one exploring life and doing all I could but she submitted her life to me.

As a multi talented young lady, she submitted her career and life to me, believing in me despite all my mistakes, she is the only person that understands me even without an explanation to my human mistakes.

I can not easily forget her usual lines after giving her piece of advice, she will say "I do not see you as my husband, I see you as my own son, If my son should do this same thing you have just done, will i disown him?", "you are still young, you will outgrow these behaviours and be the best man for me"

I lost my biological mother 11 yrs ago but If I call you my mother, I have a genuine reason to do so because you stood by me in a way that only a mother can.

The 16yrs wasn't all rosy, about 9 of the 16 years was full sufferings and poverty, even when I lost hope in myself, you continued to have high hopes in me without any iota of doubt.

We were homeless on two occasions in our lives and then with 2 kids, you endured with me, staying with your mom while I stay with a friend, you even came to live with me in my friend's place.

Despite the humiliation, you refused to give up on me, you absolutely signed off your whole life to me. At a point you wore your best cloth to a company where I asked you to help me submit a proposal, a young lady tapped you to inform you that your dress is torn at the back.

If you have ever had to wear a cloth that is so used up and begins to split into two from the back, you will understand what this means, my wife came home and narrated the issue to me, she actually saw the dress before wearing it, she wore it because she had no better one to wear

I couldn't control my emotions, I began to cry like a baby, I can never forget what she told me that faithful day, she said "Baby, don't worry, the same me wearing torn cloths today will have enough to wear tomorrow, I will even be giving out because it will be excess" Behold 7yrs after her words came to pass, cloths and female accessories are the least of her worries.

Your wisdom is extraordinary even me your husband can not match, your heart so pure that you forgive the unthinkable. Your ways so pure that you find it difficult to tell a lie. You gave me a girl and 2 boys. 12yr, 6yr and 2yr respectively.

You stood by your promise to see me through to success, If you look for a woman who gives in everything into a relationship without blinking, that is my wife.

You politely correct me when I am wrong, you warmly advise me and leave me to make my final decisions, you respect me as a father not as a husband.

Your culinary skills are the best I have ever known, friends and family can testify to this, you are the best mother to our kids, your daughter calls you the best mom in the world, I also call you the best wife and mother in the world. They say no perfect human but you are near perfect. You are so beautiful that people who do not know you conclude that you must have several men in your life spending money on you to look younger and beautiful even after 3 kids.

I can go on and on because there is a lot to talk about you that is not open to others, you live a private life without desperation for anything in life, You are a woman of honor, dignity, value with undying strength to carry on and remain focus against all odds.

I promise to guide our union with my life, protect our family with my strength and celebrate you for the rest of your life.

Happy birthday my darling wife!

You are indeed the best!

Please help move this to FP today 26 Feb to celebrate a good woman's birthday.

Add: On your request, I have added pics.

Thank you.
Happy birthday to her. A virtuous woman indeed. Congratulations

*Text : Matthew 20 : 31*
*And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.*

Today's verse shows how two blind men imbibed the spirit of perseverance irrespective of the resistance they faced in getting the attention of Jesus Christ.

Despite their obvious pitiable state, the multitude forbade them from reaching out to the One who is able to meet their needs and quench the thirst of these physically challenged men.

Brethren, if those who are feeble can be victimized in their effort to get their breakthrough, how much more the fit ones.

Though we may face challenges, resistances, and obstacles in our quest to have breakthrough, rather than letting them to be a cog in the wheel of our success, let us turn them to stepping stones to make our dreams come to reality.

Beloved, the perseverance spirit of the two blind men attracted the attention the Lord and He met their needs as they have desired.

Let us put on the spirit of perseverance in receiving that which we desire provided our desires are according to His will. May God help us.

Father, give me the spirit to persevere.

It works sir. There is no way you will instill the fear of God in your children right from when they are young, couple with parent's good example that majority of them will not turn out to be well behaved.

At least 70% of children raised this way will turn out fine.

That's if the parents know Jesus genuinely themselves.
Parents need to teach their children the way of Lord and pray for them without ceasing.
Many parents are bad examples to their children in lifestyle, dressing, movies and music they view and listen to ,
And they want them to behave different from what they have grown up with .
Parents can't eat their cake and still have it.
Some parents engage in adultery, clubbing, partying drinking but want their wards to behave decently

PoliticsFg Orders Recruitment Of Constables For Community Policing by Bejusttoall(op): 6:14pm On Jan 26, 2020
• IG asks police commissioners, traditional rulers, others to form screening committees
• South-West governors to meet again over law backing Amotekun
• Our members can’t take up constable jobs –Akintoye
• Attempt to stop regional security outfit’ll tear Nigeria apart -Ex-Gov Ezeife
Punch reports
The Federal Government has directed the police hierarchy to commence the recruitment of special constables nationwide preparatory to the implementation of its community policing policy.
The directive on community policing is coming as the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Operation Amotekun, an initiative of the six South-West governors, is gaining momentum.
The governors had set up Amotekun to complement the efforts of the police in tackling insecurity in the region. The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who reportedly described it as “illegal” has since said he was misquoted.

The opposition to the takeoff of the security outfit appears to have been cleared after the South-West governors met with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and Malami in Abuja on Thursday.

To begin the recruitment of constables, Adamu has directed state police commands to set up screening committees.

In a wireless message obtained by Sunday PUNCH, the IG ordered all state Commissioners of Police, Assistant Commissioners of Police and Divisional Police Officers to liaise with traditional rulers and community leaders in their domains to screen volunteers who would be engaged after passing the screening tests.

One of our correspondents, in an exclusive report in May 2019, revealed the decision of the police to engage about 40,000 special constables to complement the conventional police.

At least, 50 volunteers will be recruited from each of the 774 local government areas in the country. The recruitment earlier scheduled for August last year failed to take place.

The police wireless message with reference DTO:231704/01/2020, announcing the commencement of the recruitment, was copied to Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police, departments and formations.

It read, “INGENPOL (IG) directs that you be informed that (the) Federal Government has given approval for recruitment of special constables as a step forward to enhancing (the) community policing policy nationwide.

“INGENPOL further directs all commands’ CPs, ACPs and DPOs in your respective commands to liaise with traditional rulers and community leaders in your respective areas to form screening committees that will screen volunteers who must be of good character and who will eventually be recruited as special constables.”

The message added, “All those to be recommended must be resident in their respective communities and must also be between the ages of 21 and 50 with (the) willingness to serve the community.”

The IG told the CPs, ACPs and DPOs to study the Police Act 49 and 50 for proper guidance while urging them to provide updates on his directives.

One of our correspondents had reported that pastors, Imams, teachers, lawyers, journalists and youths would be considered for the volunteer job.

But the special constables, who would not be armed, are expected to handle charge room and administrative duties, crowd control, accident scene duties, alternative dispute resolution and other less sensitive and less risky functions.

They will dress in police uniform but with a different force numbers to distinguish them from the regular cops.

Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Frank Mba, said the candidates for the constabulary must be physically fit and gainfully employed.

Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, on Friday said the Progressives Governors’ Forum had decided to back community policing.

Lalong, who is the co-chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum Governance Programme Steering Committee after their meeting in Abuja, said they also met to approve the proposed 2020 work plan, programme of activities and design policies for the implementation for good governance in states controlled by the All Progressives Congress.

He stated, “Here, we are not talking about Amotekun, we are talking about general insecurity. On the general term, what we did after a presentation from the security agencies is all of us appear to be talking about community policing.”

Middle Belt opposes govs on community policing

But the Middle Belt Forum opposed the plans by the governors to implement community policing, stating that a regional security outfit like Amotekun would be more effective in curbing insecurity in the Middle Belt.

The forum asked Governors Samuel Ortom (Benue), Darius Ishaku (Taraba), Lalong (Plateau), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa) and Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) to evolve new measures to end the ongoing bloodshed in their states.

The MBF National President, Dr Bitrus Pogu, in a statement on Saturday, said he expected the state executives to invest more efforts in addressing the bloodshed and massive destruction by terrorists on the middle belt.

It said, “Considering the horrifying activities that have drawn global attention, the forum calls on the governors to work towards the creation of a security network similar to Operation Amotekun to obliterate all forms of insecurity in defenceless communities.

“We believe that a security outfit like Operation Amotekun will serve our communities better than the proposed community policing which is similar to the work currently being done by informants in providing intelligence to the police.”

Pogu called on the governors to be committed to the protection of lives and properties.

He advised the state governments to collaborate with the relevant agencies of the Federal Government to end the security challenges facing the Middle Belt.

Pogu also told the governors to let critical stakeholders to be part of their policy implementation in their states.

The MBF asked the states to embark on a massive infrastructure development to lay the foundation for industrialisation to make the economy of the region viable.

Meanwhile, Mba said the police were putting final touches to the implementation of the community policing policy, adding that they were in the process of setting up the screening committees.

He said, “We are on the verge of implementing the policy; we are putting finishing touches, we are about setting up the screening committees for the special constables.”

S’West govs meet on Amotekun bill

Meanwhile, South-West governors are to meet ‘‘anytime soon,’’ to deliberate on the law that would back the establishment of Amotekun in the region.

One of the governors, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told one of our correspondents that the meeting would review the decisions made by the six South-West Attorneys General at their meeting in Ibadan on Thursday.

Apart from the AGs, the speakers of the region’s Houses of Assembly also held a meeting, with the Majority Leaders in attendance.

The source said the governors would review the outcome of the meeting they had with the VP.

Apart from that, the governors, he added, would review the decisions taken by the speakers and majority leaders at their meeting.

He said, ‘‘We are going to meet either this week or early next week to look at the proposed bill that will give legal backing to the operation.

‘‘We know that there is no going back on the operation and what we are doing now is to kick-start it. The primary job of any government is to provide security. If we cannot do that, then we have failed as leaders. We don’t want to fail. Life is precious and we will not allow our people to be killed anymore.’’

Amotekun members can’t take constable jobs — Akintoye

Speaking on the recruitment of police special constables, the leader of the Yoruba World Congress, Prof Banji Akintoye, said no member of Amotekun could be recruited as police constables.

Akintoye, a renowned historian and a Senator during the Second Republic, said this in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH on Saturday.

Akintoye said although the Amotekun initiative and police constable jobs complemented each other in terms of provision of security, nobody should belong to the two different agencies.

He said, “Those ( police and Amotekun) are two different things. The Federal Government has its own arrangements and South-West governors have Amotekun strongly endorsed and massively supported by Yoruba people.

“The two go side by side and they will reinforce each other to give South-West people the greatest security confidence. No one can combine the two jobs. They are different.”

Asked how should the leaders of Amotekun emerge from the state and regional levels, Akintoye said those handling the outfit must have their plans.

“The people who are handling the management and structures of Amotekun have not come out with their blueprint. We are all waiting for that and I know that they are working very hard

“I know that a large number of Yoruba people are reaching out to them from home and abroad and giving them suggestions. I know when those handling it come out they will come out with a satisfactory management format.

“We want to leave them to come out with the format they want. Remember that the governors have said they would come up with legal framework for Amotekun.”

Our members can’t work as constables — OPC

Speaking in the same vein, the Ondo State Chapter of the Oodua Peoples Congress said its members would not be allowed to be recruited as special constables.

The state Coordinator of the group, Mr Victor Olayemi, who spoke with one of our correspondents, said they were ready to work with the regional security outfit.

Olayemi said, “ We can’t allow our members in Operation Amotekun to be recruited as constables and also we can’t work with the police , because we don’t want clashes. But we are ready to work if they give us our own independent roles.

“We know one another and we know what everyone can do, so they should allow us to do the work independently. That is why we are planning to meet with the governors, so they can give us our own role. We are ready to secure our people, we are ready to work in Operation Amotekun.”

We ‘ve not been contacted – Agbekoya

The coordinator, Agbekoya, Ekiti State, Sunday Omoyajowo, said the group had not been contacted about the community policing policy.

Omoyajowo said a decision on whether Agbekoya would release members for recruitment into community police or not would depend on proper understanding of the details of the policy.

He said, “If a step like that is to be taken, the police are supposed to officially inform us and other groups that could be relevant to security. It is when they come to meet us and give us the full details, what exactly will be the roles of the recruits and expectations from the police that we would be able to make decisions whether our members can join or not.

“Without letting us know their actual plans and intentions, such a decision that our members will partake or not cannot be made.”

Northern group endorses Amotekun

The Coalition of Northern Groups has thrown its weight behind the establishment of Amotekun.

While justifying the establishment of Amotekun, the group is also proposing a similar outfit to be known as operation “Shege ka Fasa”, meaning “I dare you” to protect the region from kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery and other crimes in the North.

You’re blind to Christians’ persecution, 25 groups tackle President’s spokesperson
A coalition of 25 Christian non-governmental organisations has claimed the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina, has made himself “the stumbling stone each time the Christian Association of Nigeria raises and re-echoes godly concerns of Nigerian Christians”.

Adesina had accused CAN of “sounding too long like a political party” in his reaction to the body’s statement on the execution of its chairman in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Lawan Andimi, by Boko Haram.

But the coalition in a statement on Saturday by its National Coordinator, Isaac Okonkwo, and National Secretary, Garba Yohanna, asked Adesina to stop using his office to attack CAN leaders.

The statement read, “It is an open knowledge that terrorists and their kinsmen, Fulani herdsmen, have turned many predominantly Christian communities into killing fields.

“This is too obvious to be disputed except to the insincere and mischievous minds like Adesina.

“We note with great sadness that Femi Adesina, a Christian elder in the Body of Christ, and a presidential aide, a journalist of no mean reputation, is now wearing the infamous crown as one of the staunchest defenders of the atrocious killings and maiming of Nigerians, especially Christians under the present administration.

“It is unfortunate for the presidential spokesperson to make himself the stumbling stone each time CAN raises and re-echoes godly concerns of Nigerian Christians over the obvious strategic state policy of persecution. Why? Adesina is not a lone ranger among the handful Christians appointed by the President. We are not unaware of the spoilers and betrayal roles some of them are playing in the corridors of power.

“As an elder of his church, do we need to remind him and his co- travellers that when Mordecai foresaw the genocidal plan of Hamaan against the people of God, he did not turn a blind eye to it or pretend as if all was well but instead alerted his niece, the Queen, Esther, who today would have been called the First Lady.

“The duo not only rose up against the plot but ensured the ungodly verdict was reversed but the mastermind was made to face the consequences. But Adesina does not have time to study the Book of Esther otherwise we would have advised him to learn from Mordecai.”

The groups said CAN’s demand that “ the leadership of the security outfits” should overhauled was not new, saying the President of Niger Republic, Issoufou Mahamadou, sacked his service chiefs when 89 soldiers were killed by terrorists this month.

The statement added, “If he ( Adesina) is shy, afraid or too ignorant to defend or sympathise with Christian brethren whose blood flows in the North-East, Middle Belt and Southern Kaduna, he should keep quiet. He should not allow the lucre of office to becloud his sense of godly judgement.”

I knew I would meet your kind.

This is not a thread to breed competition or promote hypocrisy.

You woman are good at dropping lines like these in order to portray the luckiest woman on Earth.

I have been married for over 3 decades and I can say "Marriage is beautiful if both of you love each other truthfully" and are determined to make your marriage work. Though it's not a smooth sail but with a determined spirit, you will conquer all.

You will sometimes fight your extended family because of that woman you love and cherish. Marriage is not for the feeble heart.

I remember one time, I looked straight in her eyes and I saw a helpless woman. I stood up to my late uncle's and told them never to insult my wife again or I stop bearing their surname and cut ties with them forever.

I could remember when i slumped, my wife was crying like I child. I woke up to her screams and tears.

I love my wife and I am without any doubt that she loves me too. I married her because I couldn't imagine living so far away from such beautiful soul. I wanted to have her all to myself and I succeeded.

Today, I don't see the curves (Of course I wasn't interested in all that when I married her) and she isn't seeing the albs, afro hairstyle etc but she is still my "Sexy Amigo".

I will marry her over and over again if given a chance.

PS: Don't even think money brought us together. I was still trying to find my place in this world when I met her. She told me "I believe in you"

After my mother, no one else except her said those words to me.

I held on to those words and today, it's all history.
Well written, but your moniker and signature are scary. Continue to enjoy your marriage sir
