Breaking News............................ Breaking News.......................................... Breaking News............ Breaking News.............................

About two months ago, I got wind of a colleague and sister who was in trouble, in conjunction with fellowship members and circle of friends, we started raising funds, campaign/awareness about her condition which necessitated this thread. The journey, waiting game, uphill of getting compatible donor and financial challenges, was not easy but the good people of Nairaland equally rose to the occasion. Nights of prayer, encouraging words, support and all you can think of cannot be quantified for all the stress, efforts and unflinching support received from here and Nigerians in general. Only God can pay you all back.

Everybody tried their best in terms of resources, prayers, publicity, phone calls etc, God alone can reward you all. On this note, with a heavy heart of JOY and GLADNESS, I announce to you that the transplant was done yesterday, started in the morning and completed about 3pm. Lola and the donor are doing very fine as at today. The surgery was successful.

I cannot express the joy, happiness and all that is flowing from my heart right now. It wouldn't have been possible without the support of you all. I wish I could mention all your names but they are numerous to mention... Although, we still have about 300k to settle but for now we are in the euphoria of the transplant success......

My prayer for you all is simple, May God's counsel, purpose and will be fulfilled in your lives in their season.... Thank you all... Thank you all... Thank you all... Thank you alll.... Thank you allll... Nagode... Nagode... Nagode... Imela..... Imela... Imela... Eseun pupo.... Eseun pupo... Eseun pupo.....

Though we have about 350k to go, the hospital has decided to go ahead with the surgery and we can balance later.
The doctor said the transplant may be conducted this week. The hospital is currently doing one, she will be next.

Thanks to everyone who is making this happen through your prayers, money, information spread.. Etc...

May heavens never be shut on you all.

Hopefully we get good news by the end of this week.

Hello all,

The result has come and it is positive. Lola will be scheduled for the operation in two weeks time. However, the hospital will not go ahead if balance is not paid latest by tomorrow. We have paid 7M out of 9.33M, she has about 1.1M in her account. We are looking at raising balance of 1.2M between today and tomorrow.

That's the latest.

Why was she not move to india to have the transplant done over their than all these sending and waiting for results huh
It is cheaper to do it here as there are qualified specialists who will do it. It is that part of the process that requires it being sent to India

Lovetrust,

1.. Yes, you can after one term

2. Yes, If you get through to becoming registered with ANMAC and AHPRA, you can get your PR processed.

Einsteno,

For Engineer Australia, you only need to be able to demonstrate your competency as an Engineer through your CDR and "CCR" ( not sure of the second) component writing. Your years of experience does not matter to EA.
However, to get at least 5points from Border force, you need three years of experience.

Go to EA's website, I believe you should be able to get a positive assessment.

Sassy123,

Could you please always write in small letters? The caplock makes it difficult to read your text.

The points you calculated is erroneous as you might have put in details you don't have.

For your assessment, none of us can boldly tell you if you will get a positive or negative assessment, we can only advise on the process. However, if you meet your assessing authority requirements, you will sure get a positive response.

I don't know your complete information but if you go through AIMS and can meet their requirements, it better you apply for PR straight rather than wasting money on student visa. The money you will spend for the whole PR process is small compared to the cheapest school fees.

Thank you sir; God bless you positively. Also which is easier? 190 or 189 after the 60 points have been obtained. I'm kinda confused about the state nomination part, dunno how to go about it. Thanks for your response
If your occupation is on SOL list, you don't need state sponsorship.

Thanks a great deal.
Well, I find it easier to write the academics than general. Since in academics, your essay will be official.

Get materials on the internet for the two IELTS and PTE, she can make a decision on what suits her.

Eritack203,

Congratulations... The good thing is after your studies, you can easily migrate to Australia to practise as a nurse.

Lovetrust,

I believe that is what you can do yourself. Go to www.skillselect.gov.au and read detailed information about PR.
From there, you can get the SOL and CSOL list which are used for visa 189, 190 and 489.

Hi NNBL2012, bellogg

kindly advice on the best route to take.
Age: 25
Qualification: B.Eng
Experience: 1yr in d workshop of a transport company as workshop supervisor (nysc), 1yr 6 months as a mechanical Engr in a firm.
IELTS: W- 6.5, S- 7.5, R- 8.5, L- 8.5 overall 8.0 ( I knw its useless cos of d 6.5)

My questions are these
1. Is it possible I extend my experience by 7 months since I have 9months gap btw wen I started Working and wen I finished Nysc
2. Do I go thru student route or PR route? The wahala is I have already applied for a stdnt visa to do advanced diploma not in engineering.
Can you rewrite your English test and aim to get a 20point mark?

You can get a positive assessment from Engineer Australia using your 11\2 year experience to write the CDR.

If you can get a 20point score in English, you don't need to claim point for work experience.

@Lovetrust,

No point disturbing yourself about spouse point. To get the 5-point, you must do a skill assessment and get positive result. The spouse point is not a compulsory requirement, just to aid in point accummulation. Let your spouse get his/her 60point...

I did a 5 years course in Electrical Engineering, but did the program for 4years(yr2-5) and my 1st year was a diploma in the same school, unilag and used a direct entry admission into yr 2. I really want to know if this will affect my assessment from EA if applying as an Electrical engineer.. ie, will i still get the 15 points allocated for bsc?
You can add the diploma result and transcript to it to convince whoever will assess your qualification. I think you should get your full point from EA. EA is not crazy like VETASSES.

I may be tagged old school but it is what it is.

Why put a girlfriend on monthly pocket money when you are not married to her? Yes, it is good to show care, affections and all for loved ones but it doesn't mean you should take over her parents' responsibilities. You need to learn how to exercise caution in "spending resources" on a girl you are not married to.

The foundation of every relationship is built on trust, honesty, openness and sincerity. When these are lost, the union is as good as dead. I don't encourage a sex filled relationship but from your description, your "girlfriend" only see you as an ATM machine. If after investigation, you discover that it is true, she doesn't deserve a second chance. The decision is yours to make though.

And the person you called a friend is an acquaintance not a friend. No friend does that to a friend.

Be wise with your resources and be careful about who you call friend.

ApexTitan,

I don't see any European leaders address your concerns in the nearest future. They are more about political correctness, "intangible reputation" and winning elections than doing what is right. Over the years, France relapsed her laws to accommodate extremism in a bid to be politically correct to some countries and cultures, the result is what we have today.

If peace must be preserved, some iota of sentiments and human feelings have to give way for the greater good of all.

As it is, it will continue until the fundamentals like immigration policy are addressed.

In other news, happy Easter to all.

In addition to being on CSOL, you have to confirm States sponsoring it and their requirements before assessment.
