IgbereTV captured the moment an #EndSARS protester was thrown out of a church in Onitsha, Anambra state.

The lady who held up a placard, was heard chanting "End SARS" repeatedly as she walked to the front of the church to display what was written on her placard. She was however escorted out by some church officials.

The circumstances surrounding the death of Chichi Eze (the lady proposed to with 3 rings) seems to be unraveling as Actress and reality show star, Eriata Ese fired back at AIT presenter, Kome Osalor after the presenter threatened to file a lawsuit against those accusing her of killing her friend, Chichi Eze.

IgbereTV reports that Eriata Ese made a clarification on her call-out post, stating that she never accused Kome of killing Chichi. She however stated that everything Kome ''told'' the deceased's husband, was what he kept accusing her of before her death.

The actress averred that she will not intentionally tarnish anyone's image, while pointing out that she shared her posts from a place of pain. She also accused Kome of writing a petition against her in Abuja and trying to use her power to intimidate her.

Senator Elisha Abbo Appeals N50m Judgement; Says S*x Toy Incident Was A ‘Simple Assault’

IgbereTV reports that Senator Elisha Abbo has appealed the judgment of a Federal High Court in Abuja ordering him to pay N50m as compensation to the woman he assaulted last year in a s*x toy store.

The senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in Adamawa State was caught on video assaulting Osimibibra Warmate at a s*x toy shop in Wuse 2, Abuja.

Abbo won the criminal case instituted against him by the police before a Chief Magistrate Court in Zuba but Warmate filed a civil suit and Justice Samira Bature of the FCT High Court ruled against Abbo on September 28, 2020, and ordered him to pay N50m and publish an apology to his victim.

However, Abbo has appealed the judgement. He says the facts of the case disclosed an "alleged tort of simple assault" and not torture or inhuman treatment.

Abbo anchored his appeal on three premises: that the judge erred in law when he dismissed his preliminary objection to the effect that the suit was not recognisable under Section 34 of the 1999 Constitution and the fundamental rights enforcement procedure; that the facts of the case were contentious and could not be determined via affidavit evidence; that the trial judge erred when he held that the applicant had proved her case as required by law whereas the evidence was not in her favour.

Abbo further stated that the court granting N50m compensation to Osimibibra Warmate was "excessive."

Three men on Monday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged exhumation of 10 corpses and beheading them for ritual.

The three are Kola Fatoye, 40, Abimbola Fatoye, 35, and Ahmed Ojo, 56.

According to the prosecutor, Monica Ikebuilo, the defendants committed the offence between March and September 2020, in Orun-Ekiti.

She alleged that the defendants dug up graves and severed heads of corpses at St. Paul Anglican Church Cemetery in Orun-Ekiti.

Ikebuilo said that the severed corpses were those of Philip Akintayo, Moreani Ajayi and eight others.

She said the accused used the extracted parts of the corpses for ritual

“I Saw My Son And Daughter Attacking Me With A Knife" - Woman Who Killed Her Two Children In Kano Claims (Graphic)

26-year-old Hauwa’u Habibu who killed her two children in Kano has said hallucinations and paranoia made her commit the heinous act, IgbereTV reports.

Recall that Habibu was arrested on Sunday October 4, after she hacked her 6-year- old son, Yusuf ‘Irfan’ Ibrahim and 3-year old daughter, Zuhura Ibrahim to death with a machete and aluminum pestle.

The incident happened at Diso Quarters, Gwale local government area of the state. On Saturday, October 3. She also severely wounded her 10-year old niece, Aisha Sadiq.

Speaking to newsmen at the command headquarters in Kano, the suspect claimed that she was hallucinating and saw her young children attacking her.

“I am not even aware I killed my children. I saw my son and daughter attacking me with a knife and another weapon. I called my husband and told him what was happening but he didn’t believe me. So I locked the house and escaped to my mother’s house for safety. The next thing I know was my husband coming to my mother’s house with bloodied clothes saying I killed the children.” she stated.

The suspect added she had been mentally ill for a long time.

“I used to feel I was being pursued. I even hallucinate a lot but my husband never believed me. Even he himself, I used to see him transforming into a beast with hooves instead of legs,” she claimed.

However, her husband and father of the deceased kids, Ibrahim Haruna Aminu, who Aminu, who took a new wife three months ago, debunked her claim of being mentally ill.

“My wife is neither possessed nor suffering from mental illness. That is why the incident touched us seriously because we know she is well and not possessed. Whoever said she is possessed by spirits or has mental illness is lying,” he said.

While admitting that his union with Habibu became estranged when he took a new wife, Aminu, however denied she killed their two kids over squabbles with his second wife.

“When I married a second wife, three months ago, she congratulated and celebrated with me. She even posted my wedding pictures on the social media,” he said.

Narrating how the incident happened, Aminu said he was with his second wife on that fateful day when he got a call from Hauwa.

“I was in my other house in Sharada when she called me on Saturday morning that somebody wanted to kill her. I rushed home and found the door closed. I knocked but nobody opened so I used my key and open the door," he said.

"To my shock, I saw my children slaughtered, lying in pools of their blood. It was later we realised her niece who was also hacked was not dead. After killing the children, she (Habibu) fled to her mother’s house and I traced her there. I asked her mother whether she knew what had happened. I then grabbed my wife’s hand and took her to her father’s house at Galadanchi. From there we reported her to the police at the Gwale divisional office.”

Aminu narrated further: “A day before the incident, while I was bidding her farewell as I set out to my other house, she asked me whether I was well. I asked her: ‘why are you asking?’’ and she said she was hallucinating but couldn’t tell what she was seeing.

“She called on Saturday around 9:55am saying two women and a man were threatening to kill her. I asked of the children and she said they were the ones threatening her. So I told her to keep praying and I’ll be with her after it stopped raining. I called her back five minutes later and spoke with the children. The children asked for Bobo drink and I told them to tell their mother to fetch some for them,"

"I then set out for the house but my car developed a problem. I had to call a friend to tow the car to the mechanics. When I arrived I found the door locked and nobody opened when I knocked. I therefore used my key to open and found my children lying dead. The other girl, who was also stabbed, told me my wife killed them. When I told her mother what she did, the mother started crying while my wife kept asking ‘what happened?’,” he added.

Meanwhile, Police spokesman, Abdullahi Haruna said the suspect would be moved to the Criminal Investigations Department.

A young lady has blasted her boyfriend for sending her a "small" amount of money to celebrate her birthday, IgbereTV reports.

Screenshots of the leaked chat which has gone viral, showed the lady, Tola blasting her boyfriend, Babatunde, after he reached out to her on her birthday and sent her N15, 000 to celebrate her special day.

Apparently, Tola was disappointed at Babatunde's monetary gift and hurled insults at him with a warning never to reach out to her again.

During the video shoot, the young man was seated on a chair with his back turned to a swimming pool. Behind Davido was three men wearing black outfits and covered in white masks.

Davido pushed the young man into the swimming pool, and turned away from him.

However, the moment Davido glanced back, he saw that the man was struggling to get out of the water

Davido immediately ran to the side of the pool as other members of the crew also joined to assist him in bringing out the man.

"I Drug Them With Tramadol Tablets And Syrup" - Notorious Kano Robber Confesses (Photo)

The Niger State Police Command have arrested a suspected robber who specialises in drugging his victims before stealing their money, IgbereTV reports

The suspect, Abdullahi Maikudi, 27, of Katsina State was arrested alongside his accomplice Rabiu Abdullahi, 23, of Kano State for stealing the sum of N 6 m from a businessman in Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state.

Spokesman of the command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday, October 1, said the suspects were apprehended by police operatives attached to the Area Command, Minna, following a tip-off, adding that the police recovered N3.8 m and 410 Cefas from them.

According to ASP Abiodun, Maikudi, lodged in a hotel in Tegina, where he met a businessman on September 25. He was said to have monitored the victim and established friendship with the victim, saying they were from the same state.

During their interaction, he offered the victim a cup of tea laced with tramadol. The buisnessman fell asleep within 10 minutes of taking the drink.

"He offered him a cup of tea laden with tramadol which makes the man fell asleep. The suspect later entered the man's room and stole his bag containing about six million naira and fled to Kano State, where he met Rabiu Abdullahi who was aiding him to flee the country. The two suspects were arrested at Fagge, Kano State and the sum of #3,850,000:00k and 410 cefas were recovered from them. Case is under investigation." the statement reads.

Speaking to newsmen, Maikudi confessed how he that he usually drugged his victims before dispossessing them of their valuables. He claimed to have been doing this for over four years.

“All my victims since I started this business, I drug them with tramadol tablets or syrup so that they will fall asleep in 10 minutes and by then, I would have finished my operation. I usually put it in their tea or food,” he said.

"Yesterday, I received the final report of Alhaji Ahmad Zabarma led committee on mismanagement of public finances & procurement processes. A whopping sum of N107 billion was stolen from state coffers by previous administration. We will recover these embezzled funds!"

Gunmen abduct Catholic priest in Delta as Uduaghan warns youths over crime

Gunmen have abducted a Catholic priest around Bishop’s Court in lselle Uku, Aniocha North Local Council of Delta State.

The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Jude Onyebadi of Saint’s Peters & Paul, Issele Asagba, was said to have been monitored and kidnapped in his farm, at the weekend, where he went to inspect his farm, workers and pay them for the work done.

Communication Director, Catholic Diocese of Issele Uku, Rev. Fr. Charles Uganwan, who confirmed the development, said that the matter had been reported to the security agencies and that members of the church had embarked on prayers for his release unhurt.

He said the kidnappers had not made any contact or demanded for ransom.

He, therefore, pleaded with the kidnappers who may not know that he is a priest to release him unconditionally.

When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident, saying: “The police have been dispatched to the bush to rescue the Catholic Priest.”

FG Suspends New Electricity Tariff For Two Weeks After Agreement With TUC And NLC

IgbereTV reports that the federal government has suspended the new electricity tariff for two weeks, after the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress suspended its planned nationwide strike scheduled to begin today Monday, September 28.

The suspension was announced following the agreement that the deregulation of the oil sector and increase in pump price was to remain as the government rolls out palliatives for labour. At the meeting, it was also agreed that Electricity tariffs should be suspended by the Federal government for 2 weeks with a joint Committee headed by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyami, to examine the justification for the new policy.

The suspension was contained in a communique jointly signed by labour leaders and the Federal Government representatives, and read by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, after an extensive meeting that ended in the early hours of Monday September 28.

According to the communique, “The parties agreed to set up a Technical Committee comprising Ministries, Departments, Agencies, NLC and TUC, which will work for two weeks, effective Monday, September 28.

The committee will examine the justifications for the new policy, metering deployment, challenges and timeline for massive rollout.

The Technical Committee membership is as follows: Mr Festus Keyamo(SAN), Minister of State Labour & Employment, Chairman; Mr Godwin Jedy-Agba, Minister of State Power, member; Prof. James Momoh, Chairman, National Electricity Regulatory Commission, member; Engr. Ahmad Rufai Zakari, SA to Mr. President on Infrastructure member/Secretary; Dr. OnohoOmhen Ebhohimhen, member (NLC); Comrade Joe Ajaero, member (NLC); Comrade Chris Okonkwo, member (TUC), and a representative of DISCOs, member.

The Terms of Reference (ToR) for the suspension with regards to the new electricity tariff are as follows:

-To examine the justification for the new policy on cost-reflective Electricity Tariff adjustments.

-To look at the different Electricity Distribution Company (DISCOs) and their different electricity tariff vis-à-vis NERC order and mandate. “

-Examine and advise the government on the issues that have hindered the deployment of the six million meters.

-To look into the NERC Act under review with a view to expanding its representation to include organized labour.

-The Technical sub-committee is to submit its report within two weeks. During the two weeks, the DISCOs shall suspend the application of the cost-reflective electricity tariff adjustments.

-The meeting also resolved that the following issues of concern to Labour should be treated as stand-alone items: “The 40% stake of government in the DISCO and the stake of workers to be reflected in the composition of the DISCOs Boards. An all-inclusive and independent review of the power sector operations as provided in the privatization MOU to be undertaken before the end of the year 2020, with Labour represented.

-That going forward, the moribund National Labour Advisory Council, NLAC, be inaugurated before the end of the year 2020 to institutionalize the process of tripartism and socio dialogue on socio-economic and major labour matters to forestall crisis.”

Regarding the argument over the increase in pump price, the Federal government says it has made available some palliatives to the labour unions for all its members. The communique stated:

-To cushion the impacts of the downstream sector deregulation and tariffs adjustment in the power sector, the Federal Government will implement the following:

-A specific amount to be unveiled by the government in two weeks; time will be isolated from the Economic Sustainability Programme Intervention Fund and be accessed by Nigerian Workers with subsequent provision for 240,000 under the auspices of NLC and TUC for participation in agricultural ventures through the CBN and the Ministry of Agriculture.

-The timeline will be fixed at the next meeting.

-Federal Government will facilitate the removal of tax on minimum wage as a way of cushioning the impacts of the policy on the lowest vulnerable.

-Federal Government will make available to organized labour 133 CNG/LPG driven mass transit buses immediately and provide to the major cities across the Country on a scale up basis, thereafter to all state and local governments before December 2021.

-Housing: 10% be allocated to Nigerian workers under the ongoing Ministry of Housing and Finance initiative through the NLC and TUC.

The NLC and TUC agreed to suspend the planned industrial action, following these terms of references.
