IgbereTV reports that a 17-year-old boy identified as Daniel James, has been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for allegedly defiling 7 and 5-year-old sisters.

The police spokesperson, DSP Mohammed Ahmed Wakil, who made the disclosure in a statement on Saturday, September 19, said that the suspect was arrested after the victims' parents reported at the 'D' Division Bauchi.

The statement reads:

"On the 17/09/2020 at about 1809hrs one Hannatu Sadiq ‘f’ aged 35yrs of Nassarawa Jahun Bauchi and Hajara Abdullahi ‘f’ aged 25yrs of the same address jointly came to ‘D’ Division Bauchi and reported that on the same date at about 1600hrs one Daniel James ‘m’ aged 17yrs of the same address, raped their two daughters named Hasiya (not real name) ‘f’ aged 7yrs of the same address and Hauwa (not real name) ‘f’ aged 5yrs of the same address."

The PPRO said: "On receipt of the report team of Policemen was drafted to the scene. The victims were rushed to General Hospital Bauchi for Medical Examination and the suspect arrested. During interrogation he confessed to the crime and attested to be a sodomy. Investigation is on progress after which suspect will be charge to court for prosecution."

On the 19/9/2020 at about 2:pm,police operatives attached to the Command Special Anti Robbery Squad(SARS) arrested the following syndicate in Awkuzu,

(i). Ekwugha Innocent Chinazo 'm' aged 25years of Mgbguzo Awkuzu,
(ii). Chidiebere Ogoegbunam 'm' aged 24years of Egbu Awkuzu and,
(iii). David Nnaemeka 'm' aged 19years of same address.

The Suspects had on the 13/9/2020 lured a 24 years old lady residing at ST Micheal hostel Temp side Awka under the pretext of securing for her a beauty make up job,picked her up at ukpo junction along Enugu- Onitsha Expressway and took her to an isolated building at Awkuzu where they allegedly raped the victim repeatedly while in captivity for two days despite collecting ransom of four hundred thousand Naira(#400,000) from her relatives.

Meanwhile,the suspects have voluntarily confessed to the crime and the victim was taken to the hospital for medical Examination.

nvestigation is still ongoing after which suspects would be brought to book.
Consequently,the Command enjoined the public to be wary of this new trend of crime and report suspicious persons through the police emergency number 07039194332 or the nearest police station for prompt response please.

IgbereTV reports that a water tanker crushed a tricycle, killing one person and leaving four others seriously injured in Anambra state. The accident happened on Monday, September 14.

A statement released by RC Kamal Musa, the acting Sector Public Education Officer
of the Anambra state Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission FRSC, states that the accident occurred opposite Jodon Shopping Mall Nkpor, along Onitsha- Awka Old road at about 3pm.

Musa said the crash occurred as a result of excessive speeding and wrongful overtaking. He said four persons who sustained injuries in the accident were rushed to Boromi hospital Onitsha, by FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit Command and the dead victim's body was deposited at the Mogue after he was confirmed dead by the Doctors in the Hospital.

Two Imo State University (IMSU) lecturers involved in a sex-for-grade scandal whose video went viral, have been suspended by the management of the institution, IgbereTV reports.

Spokesman of the university Ralph Njoku Obi who confirmed the development to IgbereTV, said the lecturers were suspended pending the outcome of a probe of the viral videos. He also confirmed that the two lecturers who are currently detained in a police cell in Owerri, the Imo State capital are senior lecturers of the university.

Obi said:

“We just came out of an expanded management meeting now. Management resolved to set up a panel to look into the veracity of the content of the video clips but as it stands now, the two lecturers have been suspended so they can give us ample room to do a proper investigation into the matter.

“It is believed that the trending video clips may have again exposed the ugly underworld of sex-for-grade syndicates operating in the Imo State University, Owerri."

21 Medical Institutions Get Free Medical Equipments From Sir Emeka Offor Foundation (Photos)

Sir Emeka Offor Foundation has distributed medical equipment, supplies and medicines worth billions of naira to twenty-one medical Institutions across the country, IgbereTV reports.

Each of the medical Institutions received medical equipment, supplies and medicines worth between N80m (Eighty million naira) and N100m (One hundred million naira).

Some of the benefitting health Institutions include: Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozalla, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Itufu-Alike, Nigerian Medical Army Corps, University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State, five other teaching hospitals, six federal medical centres, and four specialist hospitals.

Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital, Police Cantonment,Abuja had received their supplies in an earlier event held in Abuja.

IgbereTV reports that the police in Anambra state have arrested a self-acclaimed clergyman identified as Uchenna Chukwuma, 21, for allegedly killing a 60-year-old native doctor, Oliver Chukwudi Ugwu, in Umusiome, Nkpor, on Thursday, September 3.

The spokesperson of Anambra State police command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said men of the Ogidi divisional police station were alerted immediately after the incident occurred.

Police detectives arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect who during interrogation, said he was sent by God to kill the deceased native doctor. According to the police, the suspect said the native doctor was disturbing him spiritually and has not allowed him to progress financially.

Haruna Mohammed added that the victim was rushed to the Iyi Enu hospital Ogidi for medical attention where he was certified dead by the medical doctor on arrival. His corpse was deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Haruna Mohammed said the machete used in perpetrating the crime was recovered as an exhibit and that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka for discreet investigation in order to unravel the actual circumstances surrounding the incident.

IgbereTV reports that the police in Abuja have arrested Frances Tabitha Olisa Ogbonnaya, a woman accused of trying to use blackmail to extort money from Peace Mass Transit Ltd.

Ms. Ogbonnaya, resident in Lagos, had allegedly posted several write-ups against the company on her Facebook wall sometime last year, including claiming that 18 passengers of PMT had died in an accident on the Ore-Benin road, which the company later said was untrue, particularly as no PMT bus carries such number of passengers at once.

Ms. Ogbonnaya was arrested following a petition dated Feb.3, 2020,and addressed to the IGP, on behalf of PMT, by Barr.Okani E.I. In the petition, Barr. Okani stated that Ogbonnaya had engaged in cyber bullying, stalking, criminal blackmail and harassment of the transport company.

The wife of Abia state Governor Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu has been described as the source and principal motivator of the sweet atmosphere of peace presently pervading in the state, IgbereTV reports.

Gov. Ikpeazu Inspects Final Work At Ojike Lane, Aba After Years Of Abandonment (Photos)

The road connects Milverton Avenue to create a U-Shape kind of road.

Some residents of the area were seen expressing their excitement over the ongoing work on the bad road. Business activities ceased in the area for more than 12 years now, due to the bad state of the road.

The Hisbah Command in Jigawa, has arrested two suspects over alleged homosexual act in Dutse Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

The state Hisbah Commandant, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru said this while speaking in Dutse on Wednesday.

Dahiru said the suspects, aged 32 and 20, were arrested at a hotel in Dutse.

He explained that the case was reported by some residents after they heard the suspects arguing over money.

“Today Sept. 2, our personnel succeeded in arresting two persons in connection with an alleged homosexual act in Dutse.

“A 32-year-old man identified simply as Adamu, who resides at Unguwa Uku quarters in Kano state, invited his 20-year-old friend identified simply as Tijjani from Garkuwar Sarki quarters in Sokoto state.

“They perfected plans to meet through Facebook, after which Tijjani came down based on an agreement that he will be paid N50,000 after the act.

“They lodged at a hotel and passed the night together,” Dahiru said.

He said, however, that a disagreement ensured between the duo over money in the morning.

“Adamu could not provide the N50,000 promised to his guest. And that was when they began to argue until people around overheard them and informed our personnel who immediately went to the scene and arrested them,” he said.

Dahiru said that the suspects have confessed to the crime after interrogation adding that the case would be transferred to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution.
