@Patrickmuf, i didn't think "shut up" was a serious insult, especially when the perspective(banter) is indicated. But when someone asks me "have i been told to shut up in a village meeting before", on thinking about it, that's not something i would want. So i would think some peope here expect interactions resembling real life on this platform. That's understandable. And i apologize if that offends you. I never meant to insult you. However i would like to use this opportunity to tell you that, do not presume to know what anybody else is thinking. Some of us consider it an act of condescension. I will endeavour not to use such words in any post here again. Peace.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by benji93: 12:14pm On Oct 03, 2020
Yes i can, since the argument isn't supposed to be serious. Besides "Shut up" is not an insult, at least not when i have included a smiley face at the end of my post. And i specifically used it cos he assumed he knows what i am thinking. Maybe it's you guys that have such thin skin, that you cannot recognize simple banter. And oh, i did not know people still wander about finding people they can punch. cheesy. Nonsense.
Joezinho:
Can you imagine? The person you were having the convo with never insulted you. Yet you are telling him to shut up.

Can u tell him to his face? Una go just come online and type trash. I wish we all fit see urselves offline. Na those ole fan boys go first Collect punches.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by benji93: 11:59pm On Oct 02, 2020
i am gonna take this as an attempt at a banter. Cos what's the point of comparing them? He got to the semifinals last season, eliminating a more talented Man City in the process. So i suppose his coaching and the mental strength of his players must be good enough to cover for the supposed lack of talent.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by benji93: 7:15pm On Oct 02, 2020
Man, at this point shut up. Do not speak for me. Do not presume you know what i am thinking. Just wait for the appointment. You don't have to wait for too long too. We don't have to turn the table. We only have to see how strong the other table is. cheesy : grin
patrickmuf:
You say this because Ole is the coach of Manchester United and not Leipzig...If the tables turned, you won't even give Leipzig a chance because you know Ole is an average coach...
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by benji93: 6:57pm On Oct 02, 2020
My plan isn't to draw this into a back and forth that can get a book deal. I know your kind and as time would have it, Ole now has an appointment with your impressive Nagelsmann. Time sits and presides as judge over all inferences. I won't speak any further on the comparison.
patrickmuf:
Pep has proven to be successful with top teams so he stands out.

Ole on the other hand struggled with Cardiff and is still struggling to return Manchester United to the top. What's left is for him to try midtable to see if he can cut it at that level or quit if he fails.

Nagelsmann is already a success with Hoeffenheim, the top beckons.

Now, if you must draw inferences, you'd say Pep will not win the league with Tottenham but he will have them playing one of the best football and qualifying for the UCL constantly whilst winning one or two cup in between.

As for Nagelsmann, you look at what he has done with the resources at his disposal and you'd think he would be better off with a more quality squad.

As for Ole, when you see how Manchester United play with the caliber of players we have, you'd be very generous to score him slightly above average. If Ole leaves United today, do you see any top team looking for his services?
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by benji93: 5:36pm On Oct 02, 2020
Did it occur to you that none those guys you mentionedis a star in the NBA? Maybe, just maybe if they were, they would have chosen to play for the US too. I don tire for una argument. What an uninformed argument to put forth. You can do better.
fabyom:
I said "so common" with us Yorubas not all. I am Yoruba myself, Ok.
Please I do not want to start a tribal stuff but the Igbos have proven their patriotism time and time again especially in sport. Look at the basketball team for example: Okogie (Timberwolves), Metu (Spurs), Nwora Jordan, Nnamdi Gabe Vincent (Maimi Heats) too many to count playing for Nigeria. However, that can't be said of Oladipo who is bent on playing for the U.S.A despite not been good enough and the Giannis brothers.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by benji93:
Clap for yaself. I could equally opine that Pep may not be a good coach. He's always played with teams overflowing with talent. But well we'll never know, since he may never coach a team with little to no talent. Oh, Nagelsmann actually undid Pep, last season. Nagelsmann must be better than Pep. Is that inference good? Point being that, you are all over the place with your inferences, and you carry them as if they are factual. I am definitely looking forward to Ole vs Nagelsmann. We'll get to test one of your inferences. But please keep this energy. Do not make inferences from inferences. cheesy
patrickmuf:
Inference...

If your line of argument holds water then we can't categorically say Pep is better than Sean Dyche or the other way around since he hasn't coached players the level of Burnley and Sean Dyche hasn't coached a team as good as City but no, in football, we do infer a lot based on certain variables.

What Nonsense. I quoted you first. I suppose i didn't know you are not the OP then. cheesy. I beg just go and do something else you are good at.
edoairways:
is you that deviating from the subject by passing the blame on me. If I hadn't draw your attention, you were already thinking that I was the victim based on your earlier narratives. I cited Zimbabwe because of the issue of discpline, this aligns with my assertion on why flogging is archaic. You don't flog an adult simply because he or she disobeys rather you teach such adult to be responsible. The victim may be at fault but it doesn't warrant flogging. And yes I still main my stand on arresting any who complain of beating especially from a parent.
Family › Re: At 26 My Dad Still Flogs Me by benji93: 7:02pm On Sep 30, 2020
What the heck! I knew you were not OP from the beginning.I thought you had different monikers, cos i don't understand why this is an argument. Why are fiddling with trivial aspects of this back and forth. Ofcourse it's easier drive this argument by assuming you are the complainant. It helps keep this in perspective. It's quite disingenuous to argue the matter of who i am referring to. Did you call yourself an Investigator? Investigator who? Your argument regarding Zimbabwe doesn't fly, i'm afraid. What does "in no distant time" mean?. Mr predictor, talking like some political/social genius. You seem to know a lot about how policies work or come into effect. The government needs people like you. Get out of here ok. You are playing with phrases that are out of perspective, and in this case your "no distance time" is more or less an exaggeration. You have no idea if it'll ever be done, or if it will be, when? Stop rambling please. Stick to the subject. If you cannot, move on to something else that needs your time.
edoairways:
Since Zimbabwe government restricted teachers from flogging students,in no distance time they will extend to household and gradually other countries will copy them. I only cited Zimbabwe as an illustration. Now back to the question, a person above 18 years is an adult. @ bolded, if only you comprehend and read what I said earlier on, you would know that am not the victim rather an investigator. Such a shame that you couldn't digest all I said rather you misquoted my view.

Ofcourse it's morally wrong ot kill another. But wait, didn't i mention a father should go to jail if he kills his ward in the name of indiscipline? Why bring up a point that i already addressed? Second bolded. What condescension! You will arrest me for flogging my child? That's quite funny. Maybe after you arrest me you can take over the responsibility of taking care of the kid, maybe the government can join in too. What do i care what happens in Zimbabwe? We were talking about a parent flogging his/her ward as a means of correction, you are bringing up flogging at schools.Such a shame. Why are you all over the place? For someone that considers himself civilized enough to arrest a father for flogging his child you are lacking in the ability to make stay on course in an argument.
edoairways:
I don't need to there neither did I justify the actions of the victim however it is absurd. Now you said whose school of thought as to whether it is absurd to flog a child right? Is it morally right to kill or does that have a school of thought?. If need be and you child report me for flogging, I will not only arrest you, I will ensure that you are jailed for domestic violence. Just of recent, Zimbabwe or whatever name they call such country banned schools from flogging.

I could argue that your take on Mane is not True. But we will never know what really is, will we? Mane was on the rise, that's for sure. But how much Klopp's coaching or Mane's person ambition and seriousness about getting better contributed to today's Mane may never be well-defined.
patrickmuf:
When Tiago was mentioned here, you guys called him an injury prone player knocking off the idea almost immediately but now you guys claim Liverpool (our rivals) have strengthened or is it Jota? Or that Greek left back? Will you guys accept any of those players here?

Who has City bought? Ake, Diaz and Ferran Torres...If someone here suggested Torres, won't you people be asking if he will MASSIVELY improve our team? Or is it Ake that you lots won't say was relegated with Bournemouth thus isn't good enough or Diaz from the Portuguese league?

Arsenal have signed Willian whom I am certain won't be accepted here or it is Sali a and Gabriel you people won't knock down for Tuanzebe and Mengi?

Who has Spurs gotten? Bale and Reguillon, the same Bale that you guys started cursing Ed when we were linked to him or Reguillon people started tabbing here because he was dribbled once?

Who has Leicester Signed that you guys think will fit in our team or MASSIVELY improve us as you guys will say?

I am sure if Liverpool or Manchester City were the ones who signed Van De Beek, you guys would have called him an improvement too but because we got him, he isn't.

Now, I hear we're close to signing up Dembele and already fans are against the signing sighting his injury record but if Pep and City swoop for him, you people will start shouting that our rivals are strengthening.

If Pogba, Martial, De Gea and the likes were in other clubs and moved to our rivals in the league this summer, I am sure you guys would've been criticizing Ed here for not getting them. Every toy out there looks so good you want to throw away the one you already have.ut you fail to realize that some ody washes those toys you see out there so they keep shining...

Before you come here to say our rivals are strengthening, do well to point out the players they have signed so we can take a critical look at them.

We have quality players in our team but we have not gotten the right manager to work with them. If you are doubting the impact of a manager on a player, check Mane for instance, until he met Klopp his game was still raw but now, look at Mane, he has fine tuned his game and is now a player to reckon with.

NB: I once supported Ole but when I saw that the job was bigger than him, I had no option but to backtrack.

No you don't have any right. You don't know what is happening in the confines of their household. If If a father goes over the board and kills his son, he should be put in jail. Every father must find the limits within which they effect their discipline. Op is probably not telling us the entire story. Maybe his father had warned him repeatedly to tell someone when he wants to go out, or informed him to not stay out until after a period of time. If your father tells you to be home by 8.00 pm, you must not go out cos your favourites team is a playing. If you ask me: haven't you heard of cases where father's killed their wards in the name of discipline? I can also ask you: Haven't you heard of cases where people went out and never came back, especially at night. Righteousness89 may have gone a little overboard, but he's right. These are dangerous times. A son that goes out to watch football when after 8 pm when his father had told him to be home before 8 pm deserves what's coming to him. The Op knows his father doesn't he? He knows that his father probably has a bad temperament, but he insisted on putting his father in such a bad position. It's unfortunate he lost his job, but as a man that he calls himself he should know to adapt has his situation changes. A teenager hiding in a 26 year-old body deserves an ass whooping. Enough said
edoairways:
I have every right or rather you what a situation where such man kills his child?. Haven't you seen or heard cases where fathers kill their children as a result of discpline?
