Then what's the point of all these discussions? What's the point of this thread all others of its kind? Witohut making reasonable comparisons, what the hell is football all about? You must enjoy mediocrity a lot. Why the hell do we need a coach self? Not to talk of a foreign coach? Why the hell do we need boots? Why the hell do we need socks? We could play with our legs? Why the hell do we need a ball? We could kick oranges. Maybe our folks can actually take these things seriously and learn. We may never be as deeply technical as they are, but it's definitely not too late to learn. O sorry i forgot, most of our folks are still at least 2/3 years older. Maybe that's why they cannot develop the techniques. cheesy. If one is truly an 18-20 year old talented player, you can still develop the techniques if you focus, work hard and learn. At least you get to hone your talent with techniques that particularly most important. We know you are underprivileged. Most of us have been all our lives. How about we shut up and get to work? cheesy
IDENNAA:
There is an underlying issue people do not consider when they compare English players to Nigerian players. This is the issue; the English players have massive opportunities and privilege to feature in the EPL notwithstanding how poor they are and even the average ones get to play for top English clubs and this helps with player growth , development and confidence. The Nigerian players you are comparing them with dont have these benefits , especially those born in Africa.

Take Awaziem, Nwakali , Ejuke , and Kalu for instance. These player , if English will enjoy the opportunity of playing to football in England and after some season when their potentials have been developed you would call them world class.

If we have a decent league in Nigeria where the average earning is at least one million Naira per month and the clubs are structured to professional standards I can bet you that we will beat England mercilessly every time we meet them. Most of our talented players never received the early teachings they need...Taye Taiwo and Ahmed Musa are perfect examples...raw undeveloped talents.

When Enyimba of Aba reigned supreme in Africa I can point out five players from that set that could cost at least 5 million dollars if was a Brazilian club that won the Champions League back to back....Muri Ogunbiyi, Damian Ude, Onyekachi Okonkwo , late Romanus Orjinta and the bully and skillful Ekene Ezenwa. These players if Brazilians would have raked in about 50 million dollars for the club. Especially, the midfield terroristic duo of Muri and Onyekachi.

Final point, don't compare two players until they have both received the same opportunities.

It's not the wrong way. I used the word "most". Akpoguma is 25, he's never been called up by the german national team, so ofcourse it would normal to declare interest in playing for Nigeria. Has any foreign-born player with Nigerian roots ever gotten a call-up but refused cos he would rather play for Nigeria? find me examples. I actually intended "bottom of the barrel" to be relative.I probably should have clarified it. I meant by the standards of the European countries dominating football. Ofcourse they add quality. I mean, how can you do any worse? grin
tbaba1234:
This is the wrong way to think about this. There are just too many Nigerian players and not all can be absorbed into the English or German teams. That does not mean, they are not quality.

Akpoguma is not ’bottom of the barrel’. Neither are Uduokhai or Tourunarigha. These players add quality to us. They are certainly not bottom of the barrel.

I get your point. The advantage the monitor offers is you get to fit in a wider range of view, which may not be possible when viewing it naturally. But you better hope your stream no dey lag. grin. Before him go stand up tell Maguire, block am, block am. Ball don already enter. cheesy. Another question is is, Is Ole using the tech effectively?

Take it easy on your criticism, man. cheesy. This phenomenon is not limited to Nigeria. I usually have access ot numerous streaming websites, and some of them lag behind others all the time. Different streaming/broadcasting means lag behind the actual event by different amounts everywhere. Several reasons may contribute to that. And ofcourse using better tech is one of them. In that regard we can definitely do better here. cheesy. But make you no talk like white man TV no dey lag.

The earlier we understand that we'll continue to scrape the bottom of the pot the better for us. cheesy. We would mostly only be able to convince the worst of foreign-born players to play for us. The best of them would keep choosing their countries of birth. It was, It is, and it'll continue to be until we get our things right at home. All we can do now is select the best of the worst. cheesy

What kind of jobs does BB naija create? Ofcourse it creates jobs for Prostitueneurs. In addition to the position he was given 5M and house. Someone that just won 30M. This is how low we have become. No one cares if he doesn't go nude for 71 days. Some have lived a lie all their lives. 71 days too short a time. Do people not complain all the time about how their spouses changed after marriage?
You also mentoned that killing it may result in loss of revenue. You people just throw terms in the air and hope it sticks without considering it deeply. The question is who loses, if it's killed? Perhaps the people who vote can save their money and do something more useful with it. Which jobs does BBN create? Besides they only mentioned where the votes came from. You may want to argue that BBN is another entertainment export. However, how many residents of South Africa or Ghana voted? Who gets most of the money generated from votes? Think. Think. Think
TechyMm0:
cool

Let him see it in another veiw

Laycon is one of the best graduating student in his department in UNILAG, he is a rapper and a Big Brother Winner,

Dapo Abiodun needed a Youth Ambassador, who is loved by Ogun indegenes and youth, someone that can communicate in their youth language, some one who knows the pain of been a youth from the ghetto

For 71 days Laycon was under camera 24/7 he didn't go nude, he didn't fight anybody even when provoked he laughed and moved on, not once did he engage in frivolous or mediocre activity, all he did was talk about his life, exercise, meditate through yoga, complete his daily task even when he knows he can't win

I am very certain if this man had 24/7 camera on him for a week, everyone would be surprised at who the Hypocrite is

Nigerian Entertainment sector has contributed alot of direct and indirect jobs to poor youths like Laycon without connection of getting white collar jobs, IF WE STUPIDLY KILL BIG BROTHER ENTERTAINMENT WHILE WATCHING EPL, UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, BOLLYWOOD, WAKANDA AND HOLLYWOOD we would only loose revenue

California USA and Mumbai Indian ,both have the Largest GDP in India and US respectively, they make billions of dollars on all Entertainment

Think about Entertainment as a big business and perhaps as a black human you can understand no oil , non governmental development

And to close my argument, Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, needs to invite MultiChoice Nigeria, Organisers of Big brothers, and Deloitte Anderson Auditing Consultancy to help them with real ways they got to get 90 million votes from all African countries especially SouthAfrica, Nigeria and Ghana to count, in a way that Africans look forward to vote for Nigerian content without fearing Corruption

I never said he cannot. Or that wasn't what i meant. But can you guarantee it won't impact his career? Your point depends on that premise. And if that premise were true, i would have to agree with you. But neither you or I is sure it is.
nitrogen:
So what makes you think that a TD cannot sabotage the activities of a manager without any impact on his own career?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by benji93: 2:08pm On Oct 06, 2020
Good question again. cheesy. And that's correct. mostly, managers get the sack, but it may because the job of a technical director is not as difficult as that of the manager. Also the success of a team depends mostly on the manager According to history, between the two, who is the success of the team attributed to? You rarely hear the name of the director, unless he comes in and revolutionizes the system.
nitrogen:
Lol, don’t you think he can do it and get away with it? Most times, managers get sacked not directors, also, he is a utd ‘legend’.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by benji93: 1:56pm On Oct 06, 2020
Oh so now you see. When i mentioned sometime earlier that the "shut up" thing was a joke, some said it doesn't matter. It's not right to say that. but you can subtly tell some fans that they are 'up manu' fans- which subtly means they are not smart, and do not know how business works- and call it a joke. grin. you see that's kind of pretentious. And don't worry i won't shut you up. grin. As i understand there are a lot of leders here. grin
Now, the bolded is probably true. That's a better argument. But not necessarily. But Van Der Sar wasn't quite experience when he was made a technical director at Ajax. Some people would even go as far as saying that, 'No, don't make him the technicla directorm he was the goal keeper'. The last i checked he's done quite well. Stop tacking on 'sabotage' as a reason, cheesy cos it will most likely bite him in the ass. The job of a technical director is different from that of a coach. It will be obvious if all he does is sabotage the manager.
nitrogen:
Bro, I am not ready to type a long story jare. I know what I am saying. Just calm down, the ‘up manu’ thing is a joke, before you tell me to shut up tongue

Anyway, OGS as a director will be a big mistake due to reasons such as inexperience, sabotage etc.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by benji93: 1:42pm On Oct 06, 2020
Oh so all companies in the corporate world are run the same way? If he becomes the director and the manager fails, will he not receive some of the blame as well and probably get fired. you have a very narrow view on these issues, and you do not consider that other arguments based on perspectives different from yours may be more likely. You are are talking as if you are a CEO of a company, and are well versed in such matters, but you are not, obviously. Quite ocndescending honestly, to think some are just 'up manu' fans and you belong to the class of men with such big business minds. cheesy
The last questions you asked are good questions. But do not presume you know why they happened. Maybe they didn't have a plan. Maybe they were out of touch with the new age. Maybe if Fergie had coached for one more year, we would be talking about a terrible ending to Fergie's Career. Maybe he saw that much. Just maybe.
nitrogen:
See you, it's a corporate/business world. Forget passion and love for the club.

Why did Fergie leave without a plan for the club, why did Gill decide to follow him? Better just keep to your 'up manu' chants.

Lukatew!

Maybe na wetin you go do be that, if you are in such a situation, but no be everybody be like. You fit assume say no be everybody dey think the way you dey think.
nitrogen:
Let me tell you what will happen, sabotage!

OGS as a director will frustrate the new manager and ensure there is no success so the world get the message that he was not a failure.

If we decide to get a director, just don't target our legends, also, don't stay in England, go to Europe.

Sacking those guys will destabilize the club but changing managers every 2 years is not detrimental to stability. In your own words, kontinue. cheesy
nitrogen:
Hmmmmm, I am not saying we should get a SAF, I am saying that we should continue to sack and hire. That's working for many clubs. The managers and players that will come and go, most times, the executives and directors stay.

Again, the managers and players that will come and go. Also, Sacking Arnold, Judge and Woodward at the same time will destabilize the club. Number one, they've been with the club for years, secondly, the commercial side is booming even though we are going through some issues on the pitch, it's the commercial side that makes us stay afloat, finally, do you know what it will take to replace them? One thing I would suggest is to see if Matt can be replaced with a football person, but if you do that, then who negotiates? because a football person may not be able to negotiate and close tranfers o.
