Bigger than who? No make person start dey talk wetin dem achieve for life abeg. Some of you for here go dey think say na you go school pass or na you civil pass. cheesy. I mean on a faceless forum? If you no wetin other people don do you go bend. Wetin concern me with your noble parents? You must have been waiting for an opportunity to tell everyone that you were raised right. I pointed out the dent in your attempt at civility and nothing more. You con turn yourself to policeman, dey list rules. By the way i use that "nonsense" every now and then on this thread, and the parties involved do not use that as fuel for explosion. Oh yes i no add the smiley emoticon this time. Nonsense. cheesy
IDENNAA:
Yes , I am civil and respectful because my noble parents raised me so. I brought your parents into it because they failed you and thats why you behave in such an irritating way. Make your point with some decency. If I wasn't well behaved I would have insulted Charles Emeka back rather I pointed him to the rules.

How about you stop this your nonsense talk on Nwakali. His contribution wasn't significant to Huesca's promotion. How about you wait until when he actually starts playing regularly. You no wan let us rest since Huesca enter la liga. As if na Nwakali carry them for back.
IDENNAA:
Of course , Charles is a two-faced individual who is neither here nor there. He kept talking about the stint at Portugal's second division but as of current Nwakali has been on a steady rise but he kept talking about yesterday's events. It's befuddling

This is a competitive sport man. I don't want to undermine the fact that we are different, but then all the players can come out and complain about this and that being the reason they faltered or failed to win. perhaps the NBA should have been scrapped as we are different. It's clear why there's a lot of talk about this year's championship having asterisk. If one guy wins, well the others must have been badly affected by the pandemic. Or if another guy loses his performance must have been seriously impaired by the pandemic. Way to go.
Besides my point is, i would expect him to keep quiet finish this series or the play offs, then talk about it. I would want him to be sure about the reason he's playing badly. Perhaps it's just his way in the playoffs.
DeeMain:
While I am not holding forth for him, humans are not robots. What affects A may not affect B. The effect of the pandemic on individuals will be different because our perceptions are different and we experience things differently.

I hope PG is sure he has finally turned a corner. I hope he's sure this performance is not 1 good in a about half a dozen samples. He's definitely following someone's lead here. cheesy. Perhaps the elders can help us with that. But what's the fuss about the pandemic got to me or the pandmeic has interrupted my routine. You are all under the same conditions. So others should have been affected as much as you've been. He better hopes he doesn't drop poverty stats in subsequent games. cheesy

I do agree i cannot say with certainty that he's close to his ceiling. But given how high he's started. That's was why i ended with, we will have ot watch and see how this develops.
A40:
If he takes less 3's and improve his free throws he would eliminate two of his biggest weaknesses easy. He's not a player that relies on athleticism either so it's really tough to say how close or far away he is from his ceiling.

I struggle to believe a 21 year old in any sphere of life has hit their ceiling

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 9:18pm On Aug 24, 2020
90% from freethrow line? that would be a huge leap. 50% from the field won't be easy too. Doncic is another case study. While it's true that stars peak in their kid 20s on the average, you don't often get stars that already began playing professionally in Europe. He may be indeed close to his ceiling. We'll have to watch how this develops.
etidy:
In fact let's say his peak is a 32, 11, 11 player with shooting splits of 50,40,90 average defense with clutch shooting and play making.
Let's say he does that for 6 to 7 years as his game plateaus, he wins a couple of MVP titles, NBA titles and Final MVP, 10+ all stars.

That's already at least top 10 or 5 worthy career

The scary thing is that those numbers are easily achievable for Luka and all he needs is to win titles to complement that.

Abeg that's a nice peak.

i was actually referring to PG claiming he's doing other things including defending. he must be doing a lot of defending giving that the 21 year old is averaging over 30 points with over 50% shooting. cheesy
A40:
He's 21. The defensive side will take some time to hone. But what he does on the other end is so difficult to stop
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 1:02am On Aug 24, 2020
You people no dey try ooo. You don't want him to come to Golden state. You want us to be at the receiving end of the a super team rampage this time. cheesy
A40:
The Mavericks have the best offensive rating in league history this season. Luka is running an orchestra out there. Luka is the best passer to anyone with functioning eyes

If I'm Giannis if I can't go to the Heat I'm going straight to the Mavs. A frontcourt of Porzingis and Giannis would be match made in heaven on both ends
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 12:50am On Aug 24, 2020
No talk that one oooo. I thought Lebron is the best passer. grin
A40:
Carlisle is an elite coach. Na that Heat vs Mavericks series I confirm am. Any ordinary coach not named Pop or Phil would have lost that series 4-1 after Game 3.

He and Nick Nurse are still the best for me.

My only problem is Luka's consistent spamming of 3's ala Harden. If he had more of a Kawhi, LeNomad shot selection I think he has an even higher offensive ceiling as I believe he is the best passer in the league bar none
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 12:44am On Aug 24, 2020
The thing is Doncic dey average over 30 points with over 50% shooting. I am beginning to wonder which defence him dey play self. Perhaps he's preventing him from averaging 40/45. That's not bad. grin

AD is the primary scorer? According to whom? The last time i checked Lebron has averaged more points in his career than AD has. I thought AD was there to help carry the scoring load. Ofcourse it's absurd. A 27 point per game player keeps giving the ball to some streaky shooters hoping they snap out of it. Such an incredible thought from someone with the highest basketball IQ(supposedly). cheesy
steady986:
In case you forgot, let me remind you; AD is the primary scorer on this team and it's his job to score the recommended amount of points for us to win the game. So get off LeBron's back. LeBron scored only 10 points in game 2 and we still blew Portland out.

And for you to say that someone shouldn't be given the ball to shoot because he missed his previous shots is absurd.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 4:17pm On Aug 23, 2020
You never learn. What a bunch of crap. cheesy. Most people regard MJ as the GOAT cos he did what was necessary to win, which included scoring. Sorry about it, but some of us here hold winning in very high regard. cheesy
steady986:
First picture is from yesterday. LeBron scored a game high 38 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. But look at the measly plus minus beside it...+2

Second frame is from his 10-point game 3 days ago. He had a +/- of +23.

For for someone who has never bounced a basketball in his life to come here and dictate how LeBron should play his game is buffoonery of the highest order. There are different ways to impact a game other than scoring. That's the reason why MJ is their goat. They are blind to all other aspects of the game, they just want the guy who scores the most. Pathetic box score fans

None of his fans blamed AD for not being aggressive, it's haters like you that did that, so stop trying to turn it around like we were the ones who came up with that AD need to be aggressive shiiit.
Whenever i mention AD's lack of aggression it's cos we expect him to be better given his talent/opponent. It's not in relation to Lebron. The mainstream/social media on the other hand would rather blame his teammates than mention the fact that he was poor too
The only thing we complained about was poor shooting, including AD. And it's not lack of effort that made The Lakers lose the game that day, it's simply poor shooting.
Guys were missing wide open shots, especially KCP who went 0 for 9
What a bunch of crap. Why would you keep giving the ball to someone that's missed 5 open shots. Perhaps his poor shooting was what affected his teammates. The third game for example he was efficient, and that trickled down to his teammates. They shot the ball better.
So how ever you want to spin it, a guy who amassed 23 points, 16 assists and 17 rebounds in a loss is not to blame.Pick someone else
He shot terrible and it's as simple as that. Perhaps he began throwing the ball to his teammates when he realized he's been shooting the ball poorly. This is exactly my point. He's not to blame cos he amassed 16 assists? To this i say yes he deserves some of the blame. Stat padder. Didn't he realize he may have to carry more of the scoring load given his teammates were poor. How many assists did he rack up in game 3, in which they won? 8 assists. That was half of what he had in the first game where they lost by about the same amount. So racking up 20 assists doesn't make you blameless when you lose. Cos it means there's something you didn't do well, which may include stat padding-Racking up 16 assists. cheesy

Baba you are mixing things up here. First off I never said he was talking about me. I said he should pin point any comment by ANY OF US who claimed LeBron is carrying AD. That’s the bone of contention.
As @Roland17 himself suggested you may have to scroll back to keep abreast with the history of our discussion on Lebron. Moreso it's become a norm that Lebron fans talk down his role in his team's loss, year in year out.

Now what you say about LeBron not being perfect and having issues, again who disputed that here ?

I have a single specific unique particular peculiar identified issue. LeBron having a bad game 2 is not enough reason to claim [b]he is thread as that niggar.

THAT is the issue and the bone of contention.

By default we all understand he's mortal. My problem is his teammates get the lion share of the blame when his team loses. I know this at least from what's discussed on mainstream media. In fact the Bronsexuals here have been doing the same.

He was not referriing to you per say. He was just talking as per the general opinion of Lebron's fans which is obviously all over both mainstream and social media. And most times it's not explicit. When AD scores less he has to be more aggressive. Lebron always makes the right basketball play. If you make a basketball play in the lead up to a loss, you must partake in the blames. This talk that oh Lebron had a triple double he was trying ot get his other team mates involved. What the heck! I am sure a player of average IQ can realize it when his teamates are shootinh poorly let alone Lebron. No one cares if you pass yourself out of shooting rythm. As the incredible17 year veteran that he is, he surely should know how to mix it up, to ensure he stays in rythm. Whenever Lebron passes the shooters must score. cheesy, as if his passes are conjured. It doesn't matter who passes, i can only give what i have. In the first game for example, the talk was about AD not being aggressive and his other teammates shooting badly. Sorry but the last i checked Lebron has been shooting badly too. So maybe you should aknowledge that he's mortal and he errs too.
Afromentalist:
I am not trying to argue here about some old discussion you guys might have had (which I doubt I was a part and parcel being relatively new in this forum/topic).

Also far from me the idea to absolutely convince you to like or change your mind on Lebron. That’s not my goal, people are free to Bleep with whoever they want.

I’m referring to a specific recent allegation of yours! I challenged you to pin point the specific comment by any of us claiming Lebron is carrying AD. You did not.

Some of you also seemed to write Lebron off because of an average game. That’s what I am talking about.

Your views and tastes about Lebron are totally yours and you are entitled to have them.

I will not say a handful, there are about 15-16 players who have played the Center position (even if not solely the 5 like Duncan) who are in the top 50 of the NBA in points scored.
