Politics › Re: How Can Your Campaign Grounds Be Empty Like These And Still Hope You Can Win? by bentenny(m): 7:04am On Dec 29, 2022
OsunOriginal:
Each time Obi and the clowns supporting him give high hope of winning the forthcoming election, I wonder where the hope comes from. Obi has been moving from one state to the other for campaign and everywhere he goes, the campaign ground is always empty, especially whenever he naively decides to use a stadium instead of a secondary school playing ground as he did in Ibadan, Imo, Nasarawa, etc.

I heard some of his supporters were jubilating over the 5 musketeers' (Wike and others) plan to support Obi and I couldn't believe the dilution. Can Makinde win Oyo for Obi ? grin grin grin grin Obi can't even come 4th in Oyo state whether Makinde supports him or not.
You urchins are poor historians!
So the amount of people that will vote for a candidate is dependent on the mammoth crowd he can pull right?
Below are pictures of APC presidential rally in phcity rivers state 2015 where they pulled a massive crowd and what was the result eventually?
Buhari could only muster 70k votes despite the mammoth crowd grin grin
Make una dey deceive una self! structureless Obi dey give una sleepless nights! grin grin

Politics › Re: Obi's Anambra Vs Tinubu's Lagos!!! My Reply To A Tinubu's Supporter by bentenny(m):
tollyboy5:
I don't need to go further too much. Tinubu survived without fedral allocation but people are demanding his head despite achievement without allocation.

Lagos IGR increase during tinubu tenure without fedral allocations is greater than what any Anambra governor can achieve.

Pitobi has a failed monorail project despite the fact that apga has been ruling the state unlike Lagos where same party built on tinubu lagacy.

Lekki free trade zone started by tinubu is greater than all Anambra governors project put together.

The comparison is just dumb tbh.
The highlighted is a big lie from the pit of hell according to tvc journalist babajide otitoju

Firstly,Lagos state was never and I repeat never deprived of state and LGA allocation from the Fg during Obasanjo's administration!
Tinubu created extra LGs against the warning of Obasanjo and the then president instructed the then minister of finance to only pay state and LG allocations in Lagos that were known and recognised by the FG...this is a known fact and even tvc journalist hangout that happens to have a soft spot for BAT debunked that narrative of zero allocation from FG!
Secondly,it will be unfair and unjust to compare anambra with Lagos!
Anambra was never a capital but Lagos was hence you don't expect anambra to compete with Lagos in terms of infrastructure or IGR!
Its like comparing abia state to rivers state!
The comparison should be what the former governors did and were able to achieve during their time in office...was security better in their state?
What about infrastructural development?
Did the health sector or educational sector or agric sector improve during their time?
How were they able to use resources available to them during their tenor in office?
These are the questions that should be asked!

As much as i am supporting Peter Obi primarily due to his capability and competence to lead the country,i am also aware that he also represents Igbo's best chance of finally getting to power!
I will be watching the number of votes that Peter Obi will be getting from the southeastern region!
I want to see block votes of 90% and above to convince me!
If the igbos do not unite and vote for Peter Obi,they should not come out next time and cry about marginalization because no one esp me will take them serious!

Chai this is so hilarious and at the same time benighted from a clown!

Does SDP have an LG?

Does sowore's party have a state assembly member?

Does PRP have a governor rep?

So why the constant bickering and shedding of tears over a particular party that has been called several unprintable names!

They say the party is insignificant yet that same party without an LG is giving the likes of Deji and glorified urchins sleepless nights! grin

I repeat the more you tag someone insignificant, the more people want to know more about that person!

Deji and others please continue! grin

This year, they said he has no structure, they said he has no money, they said he's not known outside of Anambra State; now, they say he has no crowd in his rallies.
This is what keeps amazing me.....They say he has nothing and yet they cannot stop talking about him!

Well said Olisa

1. Crowds at the rally ground does not determine the outcome of the election .
Its been a known fact that most mammoth crowds seen at campaign rallies are either paid or cajoled like we saw in lagos!
A point of reference was in 2015 when apc came to PHcity for their presidential campaign and the stadium was filled to the brim but when the election result was revealed, apc could only muster less than 70k votes!

Even if Wike declares his support for PDP or APC according to the balablu urchins who had earlier lost hope on making it in rivers state, the damage had already been done and LP fully took advantage of the bickering within PDP and APC in rivers state and gained the popularity they needed!

If APC thinks its by the amount of support from a governor and the amount of mammoth crowd during campaign rallies, that will give them victory in the state then, their distorted memories should go as far back as 2015 and check the crowd during APC campaign rally but at the end,the APC result was a hilarious 66k despite having the financial support of the then governor of rivers state Rotimi amaechigrin grin

OP who is the one responsible for securing the lives of its citizens in the country even that of the south east?

You can complain of the present lopsided security architecture of the country where the policing of the country, has been for a long time, centralized but blaming it on a particular group in a region instead of the commander in chief of armed forces is complete and utter in.anity!

Who is the commander in chief of armed forces?
Who is in control of the entire security in Nigeria?
Do you even know the meaning of armed forces?
Who does the inspector general of police receive orders from?
The constitution explicitly states that there shall be only one police controlled by the federal government aka the executive arm of government!

Its the duty of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria to secure the entire LGAs in the country no matter who the opposition is!

Most of you don't even know your constitution but will open your mouth to spew trash even on a day of celebration!

A Few days ago,one of them created a twitter account and made a Peter Obi parody while using it to spread hate and almost instigated a war between Moslems and Christians....Funny enough, the creator of that account never had the intelligence to understand that no one in this Jet age will believe a personality like Peter Obi would have just 5 followers and a twitter created December when he has been twitting before then!
Fortunately the mods 'hesitantly' closed the thread after several hours of reports from nairalanders about the implication of such thread!

Now this OP possibly a balablu disciple in another benighted ploy to show paymasters that they are working during holidays decided to comically assume there was a rift between PO and Datti...How low can they go to discredit a party they keep saying is structureless and cannot win...This is ridiculous and defies commonsense cheesy cheesy

We want to secure and unite Nigeria, we want to be able to ensure rule of law, and ensure an equitable and just country. We can’t have this without proper devolution of power. There is no reason we cannot have state police to secure our people. There is no reason we cannot have local government police. We need to secure ourselves.

Politics › Re: Tinubu: I Will Remove Fuel Subsidy, Your Protests Won’t Stop Me by bentenny(m): 12:04am On Dec 24, 2022
IbeOkehie:
Your view of the situation is completely wrong. Local refining is NOT a solution. The Dangote refinery will not solve the problem either. Also there's nothing wrong with importation of petrol or any fuel.
If you dont know what you are saying please ignore or be quiet!
Local refining is the only solution to the removal of subsidy and importation!
Importation attracts landing cost that is most times inflated as a result of the naira to dollar exchange!
Importation also negatively affects our currency esp considering that this raw material that is domiciled in Nigeria is taken to another country for refining and purchased in another currency by the buyer! No be juju be that?
Nigeria is the only OPEC country that still imports PMS,AGO and Diesel etc
Its like growing cassava at your backyard and asking another country to process it into garri for you when you can simply process it with a local machine? Does that make sense to you?

IbeOkehie:
Think about this for a second, Nigeria has plenty of local universities yet so many run to Ghana for their education. I know a Nigerian that did Medical school in Ghana. University education has been scarce and unavailable in Nigeria for 8 months, that is EXACTLY the same as fuel scarcity. Both sectors suffer from the same destructive factors - total government control, subsidies and regulated pricing.
What i have read so far should never be given an second thought!
You are simply using a terrible and awkward analysis while confusing yourself!
When you send students(raw materials) to another country to study, you are actually assisting to provide more lecture jobs for that country and depleting our own local universities of students and lecturers!
Any time nigeria exports raw materials to another country to import it,they are benightedly empowering other countries with jobs!
Nigeria exports large quantities of cocoa at a cheaper rate to countries like netherlands and buy the processed content like chocolate at an inflated price or thrice the price used to sell cocoa to Nigeria!
The local universities like our refineries, if properly and adequately funded by any serious and education oriented President with first class facilities will provide better education for the youths in Nigeria and discourage our politicians keep wasting tax payers monies to educate their kids outside the countries!
The local universities you indirectly rubbish was an educative umbrella for most developed countries whose students and lecturers came here to learn from our universities!

IbeOkehie:
When is the last time you used the NIPOST post office or enjoyed pipe borne water? I wonder who owns those sectors. Hmmmmm. And how many people prefer watching NTA instead of ChannelsTV or TVC.
Your analysis is seriously underwhelming and laughable!
Is ChannelsTV or TVC main station operating outside the country or domiciled here in Nigeria just like NTA?
Please i advise you peruse what you send next time because this analogy makes absolutely zero sense!

IbeOkehie:
Anyway have a good night. shocked

omonnakoda:
Those are just words .
Yes just words but with a corresponding action,it can be brought to a reality

omonnakoda:
The reality is that petrol and diesel are imported.
That has been going on since successive administrations including this one that failed to simply fix the refineries!

omonnakoda:
The government has borrowed so much now it literally cannot give Nigerians cheap petrol any more than they can give them cheap food.
Firstly,Nigerians never did this and it would be pure ignorance to blame them...Its the FG's refusal to repair moribund refineries and build new ones!
Saudi arabia,an OPEC country like nigeria, just completed 2 full refineries last year to add to the existing refineries they already have...It took them 3-4 years to make that completion which was the same time the APC led administration through PMB were wasting precious time apportioning blames and forgetting that they were there not to complain but to fix the problems that have bedeviled Nigeria for a long time!
Secondly, its totally erroneous and iniquitous to assume Nigerian citizens buy cheap PMS!
And please do not waste your time bringing up that rancid stat that Nigerian citizens purchase cheaper fuel than the US....Now that will be utter absurdity!

omonnakoda:
So the point is not whining about what should be but dealing with what is which will be either Nigerians pay or the pumps are dry.
Whining,if you put it that way, will abate when the right thing is done which is simply fixing our refineries!
Same refineries that substantive minister of petroleum PMB used over 6 years telling us that they can't be fixed because it was beyond damage!
Same adminstration told us for over 4 years that was non existent!
How much does it take to fix our refineries that it took this administration over 7 years?
Once the refineries are fixed with a well thought out plan to build new ones, subsidy will naturally disappear as importation will stop!

omonnakoda:
Even if Dangote refinery works the product will not be free. Any subsidy will necessarily mean a cash transfer to Dangote He borrowed money to build that refinery and must repay and make profit.
Thats why the NNPC refineries needed to be completed to compete with Dangote or any company!
When there is price competition, the amount will gradually reduce!
You speak as if the price will never go down or it will remain static ad infinitum...
All it takes is for the other refineries to be repaired and start refining asap!

omonnakoda:
At the same time ASUU is on strike etc. Subsidy should have been removed a long time ago but we decided to wait until it was no longer a voluntary choice.
Subsidy should have been removed in this administration if they had admitted it was in existence and started fixing our refineries while building new ones very early in this adminstration!
Stop blaming Nigerians who have been made to endure series of hardship as a result of this administration's insincerity, ineptitude and incompetence!

omonnakoda:
That is the reality Nigeria cannot survive 2 3 years of subsidy with the debt service already exceeding revenue. We are literally borrowing money to pay subsidy? Does that make sense?
Who is to blame for failing to repair our refineries or build new ones?
Did the citizens stop them from borrowing funds then to build new refineries or repair the old ones?
Nigeria is the only OPEC country still importing PMS...Is that the fault of an average nigerian?
Direct the blame to the right quarters and stop behaving as if you are just waking up after more than 40 years!

omonnakoda:
We have been through worse before .
Please use 'i' not 'we' because you have no idea what an average person is going through in Nigeria!
You have not being through anything worse because your likes are obviously covered!
Go and tell a graduate earning 40k or less that the food stuffs he is purchasing today will be quadrupled next year as a result of the instant removal of subsidy!
Nothing can compare to the hyper inflation that we will face if subsidy is instantly removed without fixing the refineries or making the refineries ready before the gradual removal of subsidy!

omonnakoda:
Those people who grew up when 10 Naira notes was the biggest denomination are still around .How do you imagine they feel seeing Ghana must go bags of Naira. Subsidy has passed the point of choice now
You Seriously live in a bubble and oblivious of what is going on around you in nigeria or someone is paying for your meal,House rent and Tfare!
Any sensible person who is currently fending for himself will not utter this dross that you are spewing!
Subsidy will gradually go when the local refineries start functioning and importation is brought to a gradual end!
