@berexio1, while he (I stand corrected if the OP is a she) may own the company, his TRV application is not an application for the company. It is a personal application, not company business. That he may own a portion of the company is auxiliary information that will be included in the application. If the OP were my sibling, my advise would be to not write it on company letterhead unless the application was for the company (which is not the case here, the company is not applying for a TRV for itself). Conclusion: he can, but he shouldn't.
@Thomby2k12

My guy, u are not getting it..anything he has as partnership is his property whether in an company or outside a company....This is not to be debated..For the single fact he is a director, that coy belongs to him..jointly though

I don't think it is a good idea to write your SOP on the company letterhead. You are applying for a TRV for yourself (not the company), and the SOP is your personal story. What benefit could possibly come out of writing it on company letterhead (even if u were CEO)? Imho, writing it on company letterhead may unnecessarily confuse the VO. I can't come up with one single justification for writing it on company letterhead.

When you say "can [you] use the company as [your] personal asset?" How would you do this? If your SOP is well written, then it would be obvious to the VO that the company ties you to Nigeria. Other than that I'm not understanding how you would use the company as a "personal asset".

Submitting the coy registration docs Co2 and Co7 showwing him as a director is how to show the coy as his asset..He could even go on to submit coy SOA and his personal SOA to further strengthen it and Yes he can write his SOP with the coy letter head..

Hello house! I posted about my refusal the last time. Attached below are the VO reason for refusal and sincerely I can't really picture the real reason except for travel history... Also I attached the list of documents submitted! Just need guidelines applying to another school for winter on Monday! Thanks
what did u study at UG and what are u going for?

The company registration documents show that I am a director.

That means u co-own the company...u can write on the coy letter head. This is not an issue at all

Do you own the company? Are you a partner in the company? If not, I think doing that would be very wrong. Best you can do is to show that the job will be waiting for you when you come back. Maybe @thesoj can shed more light on this
He is a director..meaning he has shares with the company(or he is a partner)

Thanks for your reply. Please i will so like to know if it late to apply for winter 2016 intake?
Admission u mean?It rests with ur school of choice, most of them have past their deadline..it is easier to defer and get admission..Bt if u are just starting a fresh application, it will take some time..depending on the school..If u have ur transcript(e-copy) and meet requirements for some schools, u can get a conditional offer pending when u send hardcopy transcript..

Again, u need to research more on the schools,,send an email to *(under)*graduate coordinators of the program ur going for..Ask them all the questions..Nobody can give u info here abt these type of questions

Cheers!

**Just to add..make sure u have ur admission atleast 3 months to resumption. So u will have ample time to apply for TRV. Some sch puts this into consideration that's why they have deadlines for their respective terms.m

Good evening.
Please my husband and I are interested in applying, we contacted an expert and the charge is much. A friend applied to another country and with the help of people in this section they were guided on how to go about the application and it was a success.
The person we contacted said he has never failed anyone since he started, and that he will give us proper formats for the application and all, but the money is a lot.
Please if anyone here can help us with guidance for the express entry application I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks.

PLEASE someone help.
you should acquaint ursef with the school's website and get to know the requirements. General notion is that they don't require English test if uv been taught in English and since ur going for UG, it cud be much easier with ur WAEC result. But u av to know more abt these schools and also the programme u intend to study.

Application for admission is done online, payment is made via MasterCard.

Hi everyone, nice work going on here and Ive learnt sooo much.

I just saw my IELTS result of the test written on August 1st, now and i had a
7.0 viz Listening=7.5 Reading= 7.0 Writing= 7.0 Speaking= 6.5

My question goes thus: as per WES should I evaluate my first degree and leave out the secondary school aspect?(getting a transcript is not a problem from my school at all.)

If i include Secondary school leaving certificate, am i buying a WAEC scratch card and giving details?
If WAEC would delay me, kindly advise whether to strike it out or ?

My NOC IS 4112, I'M A lawyer

Shyee, and berexio1. i PMed u,since yesterday.
Thank you my gurus, Jesus Dway et al
Not sure if I saw ur PM..Just evaluate ur degree alone..Secondary school should be left out and pls use WES

While I would like to think that it is not the sole reason for his refusal, it could be one of the key reasons for his refusal. His sponsor's financials looks pretty good. CIC states that tuition plus $10k CAD is a minimum requirement. The $10k CAD number is not a guideline, it is a minimum requirement. Not meeting that requirement could have soured the VO's disposition towards the application.

If u say this for 'Funds Available' I would probably agree...Bt when the form asks for Room and Board its different....Mind u room and board is not equal to Living expenses minus food. They want to make sure u are atleast in-line with what is obtainable..U can write 10k there and if u fall short in ur statements, insuffient funds will be thicked..Putting 10k there doesn't mean u av met CIC requirement..U simply meet the requirement in ur SOA. Bt u can't put sth ridiculous there too, it shows the person doesn't know what he is doing.

Look at it this way, his account balance should have a minimum of 10k+Tuition.That's what CIC says..He can decide to spend less than 10k in living expenses...That's the way I see it.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by berexio1: 10:36pm On Aug 20, 2015
thesoj:
@berexio1 I agree that it doesn't have to be exactly $10k. But the total (of Room&Board plus Other) definitely should NOT be lower than $10k according to CIC. @Graviton2 should play it safe and follow CIC's clearly stated requirements on this one. This is one of the issues he should fix.
I agree with u as I also stated same thing u said here..Bt I think putting 8k there is not the reason for his refusal...
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by berexio1: 10:25pm On Aug 20, 2015
thesoj:
I see an issue: CIC requires that you need at least $10k CAD for room and board and other expenses. I would recommend you put $10k CAD in the room &board category or put at least an additional $2k CAD in the "Other" category. In your app, you only put $8,681CAD, which is less than the CIC requirement.

In a couple hours, I will describe both the Letter of Clarification as well as the spreadsheet. Can't type much now.
it doesn't have to be 10k exact..CIC gives a margin of 10k for living expenses for a year..This includes food, room, board..In my opinion..Room and Board + Other should add up to atleast 10k. Bt expences vary and the figure he put there is quite reasonable too..

Insufficient fund is what it is..Boost ur sponsor's account..U are going for UG program..If grads are requiring 6m..urs should be double that..12m in ur sponsor's account will do the trick..

Cheers!

How much was in ur personal SOA? Any valuable asset in ur name?like land property?

Lastly, don't assume you know what they want. Try to evaluate from all angles.

It is well with u? Did u get a gcms for ur previous refusal?

Question for the house: my sister is starting her MSc program in January and she already got her TRV, while my brother is yet to apply for his TRV to start a PGD program in January as well. They have the same sponsor with sufficient funds.

Do you guys think it creates a bad impression that my brother is trying to go to Canada at the same time as my sister? I am paranoid that the VO may see it as a desperate attempt to go with my sister. Fyi their schools are 550km apart. Would it look better if he deferred his admission to May (but still apply for TRV in September)?

Abeg I need your opinion please @deedee0 @tnuola @Team12 @teesboy @HayqinsbFX @richcasey @berexio1 @SeraSera, @Graviton2 @TheBae @ayooluwatoni
How much is in the sponsor's SOA?If it can coneveniently cover for both with enough cash remaining..There is absolutely nothing wrong. Just like u earlier transferred som funds from sponsor's account to applicant school account. This move will show the funds are available and will be used for study...

Please I need help, I am a graduate of chemical engineering from a federal university in Nigeria. I will like to do my master in Canada especially university of Alberta or
university of Regina and I will like to stay back
after my program but I don't have industrial
experience. My question is that, does Canadian
universities and oil and gas companies offer co-op
(internship) for masters students. Please can someone help with answer to my problem.
I doubt esp if ur going for course-based masters(M.Eng)..Bt for research based(MSc), there could be some collaborations with oil coys or some industries. If ur aim is to get canadian work experience, I will say u shud apply for admission into the program and graduate. Am sure u cud get a job after graduation by God's grace, and since ur a chemical engr, u have options in chemical industries apart from oil coys that are at the moment trying to float admist the current setback..

It appears that the Canadian grading scale is not always consistent across universities. For instance, UManitoba and UWinnipeg both use a 4.5 scale while UToronto and UCalgary use a 4.0 scale. I have never schooled in Canada, but I know that in the US most schools use a 4.0 scale. It also seems they (Canadian schools, e.g. UBC) use percentages a lot, even to represent the final grade on the transcript... I'm not an expert in this area sha.

@thesoj...U dey work for wikipaedia abi? See how u just they provide link to buttress ur claims..I like ur style sha..Kudos..I hope ur going for masters in research doh..

Hello TheBae,

I can see you know so much about this WES evaluation. I did an evaluation on their website few months ago by inputting my courses and grades after which I got a result of my CGPA converted to 4.00.

Could you please check the website and try inputting your grades to see if the outcome is the same as what you got after WES did your course by course evaluation? If it's the same then guyz in the house can try the website 1st b4 making any payment to WES.

See below a screenshot of what I got back then although my CGPA was 4.10/5.00 and 4.54 /5.00 in my last 2yrz (if WES considers the last 2yrz tho)

Thank you as u continue helping the house members. grin
see as u take style enter first class..Am very sure this results from WES takes into consideration a lot of unfavorable conditions that are eliminated once u are overseas..No wander Naija students represent academically over there...I was even shocked to learn that I had 80 percent from an evaluation of my transcript from my sch..
