... I hail back my bro... this ain't no village people thingy... this is plain laziness and lack of due diligence... at this age of internet and level of education we have with life experiences... we should take steps in doing things ourselves... once u are over 18... u are no more a kid that must be spoon fed...
Definitely true, was kidding abt d village thing tho...It really baffles me too.....Atleast a little follow up on the individual's part will do some good..This is definitely a lesson for others to learn from.

How family?

Thanks for your question, in my denial form they did not tick that I did not have enough financial resources to pay for school or to travel (this was most likely because I put my first semester receipt and my ticket booking). The only thing that was ticked was that I do not have enough financial resources for upkeep in Canada. That gives the impression that my bank statement was not valid because the only thing they could have used the bank statement to verify is if I have enough and available financial resources for upkeep. If it was not my old bank statement, they would have ticked insufficient funds for all three fields. And also it is stated on one of the CIC forms that your bank statement should not be older than 1 month.
How much was in ur bank statement? Was it ur personal SOA? Also, can u tell me what they ticked as ur only reason for denial..It is clear u assumed they didn't consider ur statement because it was over a month, bt we can brainstorm other reasons...

... Guys be very careful when picking Agents or what not.... 2 students were refused at POE last month just cos the Agent they used gave them fake admission letters and also ate their tuition... Just cos ur Agent gave u admission letter and u used it to secure VISA does not mean u shouldnt do due diligence to contact the school urself to verify ur admission... Well... the got turned back and back in Naija right now...
Oga Siga, longest time. I dey hail..Hmm..Na when person don see the promise land finish, he no come enter..this one pas be careful oo..Maybe the village witches are at work here....

1)You cannot use a bank statement older than 1 month (this was my only reason for denial in my previous application). The VO will most likely assume you don't have the required balance right now that's why you are submitting an old one. Also ensure your cash inflow is greater than outflow on the New bank statement.
2) if you did not pass the medical, it will be ticked on your denial form
3) it is not too late, just submit, pray and be hopeful.
4) As for the SOP, personally I didn't put one in my application (I have a 2 year study gap) though I'm still a teenager, but if you want to put one, make sure you have a legitimate explanation for your study gap. The VO will be quick to deny is he suspects any dishonesty. But before you ask all these questions, can you state the reason you were denied because that will help you figure out how to repackage your application.

I hope this is helpful to you and I also pray your application is approved this time IJN. God bless you too.
How were u able to come about the bolded? Is there somewhere on ur refusal letter this was stated? That you were refused based on the fact that you didn't have a more recent statement..Pls enlighten the house..

Hello house,
I got denied on the 8th September for insufficient funds (paper route)
Now I reapplied on the 28th of October (paper route too)
List of documents
1. All CIC forms
2. Proof of upfront medical
3. Bank statement of my sponsor 21 million naira balance and cash inflow of 110 million and outflow of 80 million in 4 months (the bank separated it into 2 months each)
4. Letter of reference from the bank stating that my sponsor has informed them of his intentions and he is the sole signatory to the account.
5. Letter of sponsorship from my sponsor (stamped at the high court with the receipt attached)
6. Undergraduate entrance scholarship
7. Admission letter
8. Letter from my parents stating that they are aware of my sponsors intent ( stamped at the high court with the receipt attached )
9. Tax clearance, shares and proof of business registration
10. Official fee schedule
11. Waec certificate
12. High school transcripts and high school certificate
N.b : I used a different sponsor from my first application. But my new sponsor is the spouse of my old sponsor and the old sponsor is also a share holder in the business. Is this going to affect me and is my application good ?
Can the gurus in the house please help me review it asap
You have already applied.. I am not sure of where you need advice again. Or do u want to unnecessarily build your BP? All you can do now is pray and wait to expect a positive outcome.

Cheers!

PLEASE I NEED TO TALK TO SOMEONE ON HERE THAT CAN SHARE MUCH LIGHT ON MY ISSUE PLEASEE... I POSTED THIS EARLIER

Good Morning Everyone. I want to say a big thank you to everyone on here, you have no idea how much help you rendering to people. God Bless you all. I want to go for an undergraduate course hopefully Nursing in Canada. I only have my waec and Neco at the moment. But what i am wondering about is my age. I am 25 now, Will be 26 by Nov.. Please with my age which school can i pick or apply for. Or if i cant go with nursing, which course? The financial aspect is not a problem at all. I dont have any relative over there too. I want a course i can do in 2-3 years. urgent reply is needed. Thanks again
If your finance is not the problem, then you are half-way ready...start ur research on schools and the course u wanna do..Nobody will give u any hint abt any school if u are not ready to work, and we cant select a course for you young man..you should decide and know what you want by carefully alligning ur statement of purpose. This is why it might be difficult for you to write SOP..So after we choose a course for you, we will now explain and tell you why you should study the course?Bros no disrespect bt I will personally make sure nobody helps you with that... grin

Enjoy!

Meanwhile.., I appreciate the contribution if all on this platform.. One thing is that though many are already on their Visa processing, someone like me could kindly be helped as I seek Schools with high admission tendency to apply to, Knowing fully well that the cost of admission application is very expensive and one has to put ones mouth where ones money is, there's never a painful thing as getting a negative admission decision after paying and waiting for months...

On this note, after applying to UWO, I will like the good minds here to suggest school with high admission tendencies that I can further apply for a M.Eng in Elect/Elect with a CGPA of 3.9/5.0.

God bless as I expect a favourable reply..

@berexio
@thesoj
@all Engineering Graduate students in the house...
Elect/Elect? With ur CGPA and a good statement of purpose and CV, u can get into a top school in canada. Schools with high admission tendencies are Uregina,Umanitoba,Uwaterloo,Carleton, UCalgary..Look them up and decide. Package well, u will get your admission God-willing..

Cheers!

Hmmm... my brother, with the testimonies of people like us, and the nonsense CIC is doing this days, the probability of delay after medical passed is 50%. You've just got to keep trusting God until you get your passport back and you see the TRV starring at you the same way you're starring at it. We've had cases of delay after passport request sef, and @thesoj also talked about someone who was delayed after approval mail was received, but the last two cases are very rare and can be put at 0.3, but that of delay after medical passed is as normal as delay before medical call.

God help and favour us all.
Those cases are out of the norm...Once in a while kinda and seem to occur during rush periods..Its not a 50 percent..

they send both hard copy by post and soft copy by mail attachment. If applying online then no need for the hard copy. Don't know if photocopies can be used for paper submission.
paper uses photocopies now. There's no reason to wait for original copy anylonger. Moreover printing a softcopy document in color is 'original' in its term

They should have sent a hard copy of your acceptance letter to your postal addy you indicated while applying to the school. If by any means that copy disappeared en-transit, you can write the academic assistant to print another original copy but this time you'll have to arrange for a courier agent to pick it up from the school and send to Naija for you. I did same and got it within a week. I'm also heading to uOttawa.

like seriously, some schools send hardcopy..Whateva happened to soft copies on student's account?

Thou she did upfront medical. Does it mean her passport can be requested anytime soon. Or There is a chance that she can still be delayed?
Yes PP request is next...And abt ur 2nd question, u want to know if she can still be delayed? Yes bt probability of delay after medical passed is 0.3

@thesoj, thanks for the detailed explanation. Yeah I'm aware I'll be paying fees for the summer session if I register to take courses therein. My program is charged a flat fee per session no matter the number of courses registered provided one remains within the limits min 6 credit unit - max 15credit units/session. I'll plan to limit my program to 3sessions. So I might take the summer break and finish by 2017 Winter. Fair enough, I'll go ahead and drop one course from my already registered four courses to see how I can cope with 3courses and an accompanying toddler. moreover, winter is coming grin
How many courses are u doing? It is usually 8 courses, so 3 courses per semester can still suffice. Bt if u intend to finish in a year, then marathon for you, u won't have any breaks..I know of sb who finished in a year, bt all na book, no work!

Yes no statement of purpose but your CV is requested as well as letters of recommendation. Cocolav is right they don't just look at CGPA. With my 4.18, I've had 5years field engineering experience and with one good letter of recommendation from my undergraduate supervisor and another recommendation from my supervisor at work. It's a total package. So just seek areas where your strength lies and portray on your CV.

What engrg did u study @UG and wats ur MEng specialisation?

Mr berexio, thanks for yor nice observation.

The VO wants me to have some savings and is concentrating on my employment because he thinks I've been home for 7years.

I didn't submit my degree certificate only transcript and a letter from my faculty stating when I completed my degree.(i guess that played a role) I only submitted my ssce certificate of 2008

In summary, I am quite sure these VOS don't read th extra extra letters and SOP we tend to write (atleast not in rush period)

Another thin is that, the most important part of an application is the IMM1294 form....whatever u write there is what the VO makes a decision from.
You are very correct with ur points.. That form IMM1294 most times is what they concentrate on, they just seive thru the rest of the documents and assume quite a lot..We see a lot of these mistakes in other gcms.

Just a quick tip/advice for all who just arrived to Canada or will be coming soon. If you intend getting a car sooner or later, consider starting your drivers licence process asap, depending on your province it could take up to 3 years to get a full licence. However, coming with a 9ja licence can speed up the process to 3 weeks like literally. Furthermore, tho it may be allowed to drive or to get a car with a 9ja license+offshore later, they are certain benefits you get in possessing your province drivers licence. benefits like, using it as a means of ID as opposed to carrying your Passport+visa about, getting some jobs, and also getting a cheaper premium on your car insurance. Cheers guys!!
tnx. This info was timely!

Gcms are a real pointer to how any application is perceived..Instead of stressing ur head and thinking all around ur application, ur gcms can point u in the right direction.

@Akin, the VO wey handle ur file smoke igbo

@Akin here u are changing courses here and there while the VO thinks u left school 7 yrs ago..These people make mistakes too. Mere looking at ur age and college diploma, anyone can assume. So first is for u to correct that misrepresentation.

Secondly, he wants u to have assets even know he confirmed u worked as a trainee with little pay..He wants ur balance to show good money. Yet he wants u to be honest in ur application.

My take: Just give him what he wants to see and collect ur TRV

How is ur australian parole tho?

I don't know what u meant by "if I got this by doing the last 2 semester". I sent my transcript to WES for evaluation, (a skol in USA requires WES evaluation). My undergraduate cgpa is 3.54(second class upper)/5.0 BUT after WES evaluation, it is 3.15/4.0.
Tho my last 2sememter GPA was good cos I started so very baaaad..
U can use the WES free evaluation tool on their website..Slot in ur scores for the last 2yrs, it will calculate for u..

Pls house, Is 3.54/5.0 up to 77% (B+). Cos this prof said they strictly admit that.. Tho after evaluation from wes its 3.15/4.0

Based on your WES evaluation 3.15/4 is 78 percent. I don't know if you got this by doing the last 2yrs alone tho!

You can have a backup plan just incase.

2) what the funding given by the department covers because i don't have my own personal money to sponsor myself, am really hoping for full schorlarship (i graduated with 4.39/5.0)
its good u have a potential supervisor already. The funding will usually cover your tuition and a monthly stipend for upkeep/books. So no worries!

If I liquidate now, I will have access to only 90% of the 2.8m. I can liquidate after 2 years which will be in jan and apr 2016. Maybe I should defer my admission and reapply for study permit next year april because by then I will a total of 9.5m.

Also, I will be able to complete the program within a year if I start in September
Aitte, since u are already nearing the completion of the insurance, it is ok to go on as planned. You can take out time to request for ur gcms note to know exactly how ur application was perceived.
