Soyenka started campus cultism. That is the fact! He does not command any iota of respect, because he is responsible for blood of youths that have been cut down during cult war. |
@ Mekaboy: You are right, though Obi has been providing the fatherly leadership in the SE zone and that is why we still see cohesion because of his father figure. I believe Oseloka Obaze is the next governor, he has all that it takes. He came from the United Nations in New york where he has worked and rose to Senior position for over 20years. He has seen international politics and best international practice around the world. He is actually in the mould of Emeka Anyaoku. He has a lot of integrity to protect unlike most of rif-rafs and mediocres around us. |
^^^^^ This is mind blowing.. Did they manufacture this in Anambra..? This state is truly the LIGHT OF THE NATION. Anambra is truly setting the pace in advancement. I think this is another credit to Obi, because he stimulated the inflow of investors (FDIs) and coming home of Anambrans to invest. Though Innoson has always had its Head Office in Nnewi-Anambra |
Was it not the same Soyenka that introduced cultism in our universities? ![]() |
ceejay675: Dis is a false information....I was dia live wen it hapnd....I was at asaba park....dangote truck didn't kill anyone...it was d 1st truck that killed 6 not 7...2 women n 4 men....it was really terrible...have not seen anytin like dat in my life b4....d way dia hands legs n head cut off...God hv mercy....government shd do sumtin abt dat upper iweka...d way bus drivers n lorries drivers drive..dy drive wit full speed knowin fully well dat d road is nt gud n peeps always gather along d roadThe entire stretch of the road is nylon tarred clean and neat from Head Bridge-Upper Iweka-Ziks-Junction-Nkpor-Toll gate. The problem we have is reckless drivers mostly trucks from the north and SW who take advantage of the good expressway to speed on top of high gear. |
Myself2: First of,If this is true, then the cult leader- Soyenka has received enough insult that should have sent out of play. |
ACM10: Did he reduce the accidents on Nigerian roads when he was FRSC marshal? What is his track records on education? He introduced cultism. Graduated with 3rd class. What will he give back to Nigerians in academics? This is the final nail that nailed the common cultist called Soyenka. |
sanniemoe: Uneducated thing.. It's spelt SOYINKA and not Soyenka.. That man is a Demi god on his own, well respected, well travelled,a man in all sense of the word.. When he speaks, world leaders listen, they adore him with a passion.A demi....what? Maybe to local champions and villagers like yuroba tribe.. FYI: He is not known nor regarded anywhere in east by anybody. Infact nobody knows him outside yurobaland. Fact!. The only thing that come to mind when we remind Soyenka is campus cultism and cult war. We have Achebe..a hero that is celebrated all over the world as the Africa's most influential celebrity and father of modern African literature. Deal with it.. This is what number president of the world said about Achebe: United States President, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle have described the late Nigerian novelist, Prof. Chinua Achebe as a “Revolutionary author, educator, and cultural ambassador.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/06/achebe-drew-the-world-closer-obama/ Which means Achebe's work have equally affected positively Obama same way it did to Mandela. Does US president knows that a cultist who won political noble prize, that was used to settle him for bringing the monster called cultism to Nigeria and Africa. |
By the time the poor people of imo state will realize that this clown and an aboki trained, potbellied fraudster has done to them it will would have been too late. Fools as abagworo will come here to sell bunkum and projects constructed on the pages of news paper for us to believe. Imo state people should wise up come 2015 to elect a leader that will use their money and work for them instead of using it for his aboki and yuroba godfathers to the detriment of his state. |
Standing5: And why is PEJ the one to speak for Soyinka's admirers? The woman funny small sha!!! Now that it is clear that she, her husband and their co-travellers are fast losing popularity, they ve decided to speak up for Soyinka's admirers. They are simply afraid of the multitude who will applaud Soyinka's stance. And who are Soyenka admirers? If not cultists and base elements of our society ? |
Akell: ....and Achebe would be remembered for giving the whole world a distorted view of the Nigerian Civil War in his swan song tittled 'There was a Country'Now you have accepted the fact that the Africa's most influential celebrity and father of modern African literature is Achebe. While your local champion Soyenka will be remembered for introducing campus cultism and killing of millions of students along the line. It is an undeniable fact that Soyenka will not be remembered for any positive thing. |
chrismalik2010: pity yourself, when soyinka speaks, we think he is always right. To hell with him and his yorubas who adore himGBAM |
[s] P.Stacks:[/s] Next time bring your village champion..this is not for shallow minds. |
[s] DIVINE78: I laugh in Tiv. Let me help you, fasten your belt;[/s] INCOHERENCY AND TRASH NEXT.. MARK: 0/10 |
[s] Akell: The truth of the matter is: you don't live up to your name. it shd be 'bad/ worst view' cus you haven't demonstrated any iota of civility here.[/s] Who is the Africa's most influential celebrity and who is also the father of modern African literature? Achebe is a worldwide household name for positive things..go figure The world will remember each and everyone of them by their works. While Achebe will be remember for affecting millions around the world positively through his work. Soyenka on the other side of the coin will be remembered for campus cultism and killing of millions through campus war etc. |
ocelot2006: Tell him to go ahead nah. Let's see how it works. Here's my prediction though: it will start and end in Lagos, just like the fuel subsidy protest were everyone ran off when the army was called in.GBAM..it will start and end in yuroba land. Don't bother to reply that silly old fool next time, since his clownish governor joined the amala politics, he has taken on siding them. Let hime continue because we don't really regard nor reckon on them. It will not even reach Edo state talk more of getting to Onitsha Bridge. We will send them back with their dirty amala protest. Cowards!!!!! |
This is a welcome development. Who is Soyenka in the first instance? Was he Achebe- the father of modern African literature or Africa's most influential celebrity? Soyenka should be cut to size by all means necessary, afterwards the campus cultism that is the bane of Nigerian universities today is the sole invention of that good for nothing university (3rd Class) 'prof'. If you agree that Soyenka should be tamed: CLICK YES |
This judgement is an insult on yurobas that were massacred and slaughtered in their hundreds by the almajiris during IBB/Abacha regime. |
Na those people on the other side of the niger. Its a life style among them. We see it everyday in their midst. They are the reason that Nigeria has got a alot of bad image abroad. TUFIAKWA! |

Forty-eight hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the time-table for Anambra State governorship election, activities are in the upward swing in the political parties. Checks revealed that political parties are gearing up to comply with the time-table. In the time-table released by INEC, the governorship election in Anambra State will hold on November 16. Towards this end, commencement of campaigns by the political parties is slated for August 13, while collection of nomination forms begins on August 26. INEC also stated that the last day for political parties’ primaries is September 2, while the last day for the submission of the names of candidates to INEC is September 17. The list of candidates, according to INEC’s time-table, would be published on September 24, while political parties have up to October 2 to withdraw and substitute names of candidates. The INEC time-table also stated that run-off election would hold on November 23, seven days after the governorship poll. Checks by Daily Sun revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in its programme to pick the governorship candidate, would release its guidelines for the primaries and constitute a three-man panel in the next two weeks. The panel, it was learnt, would follow the guidelines, conduct the primaries and pick the candidate for the election. Sources revealed that the PDP primaries would hold next month before or after the national convention also slated for August. A source told Daily Sun that the PDP would raise a panel to conduct the primaries, outside the state executive because of the factionalisation of the party in Anambra State. It was learnt that the party opted for a neutral panel so that no aspirant would have undue advantage in the exercise. Sources stated that the PDP might likely pick a candidate that is neutral in the crisis in the state. It was reckoned that the choice of a candidate from the faction might jeopardize the chances of the party, as it’s feared that other factions might work against such candidate. In the PDP, the highfliers among those who have indicated interests to contest for the governorship seat include Dr. Obinna Uzoh, Dr. Andy Uba, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, Prince Emeka John and Nze Akachukwu Nwankpo.Among the lot, Dr. Uzoh is seen as a neutral aspirant, as he does not belong to any of the factions. Also, his acceptance in the Catholic church and his philanthropy may have endeared him to the people of the state. The leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is also preparing to field a candidate in the election. Sources revealed that Chief Victor Umeh and other executives of the party would soon meet to fashion out modalities for the primary election expected next month. When Daily Sun spoke with Umeh, he said: “We will comply with INEC’s directives. We are studying the timetable. Soon, the executive committee of APGA will meet and agree on the modalities, after which we will release a guideline. We will then take it from there. We hope to field a candidate that will ensure that our party retains the governorship seat in the state.” In APGA, politicians like Uche Ekwunife, Osaleke Obaze, Dubem Obaze, Mike Udah and Victor Ogene, among others, are in the race for the party’s ticket. Meanwhile, sources revealed that Prince John Okechukwu Emeka, former minister of Water Transport, might dump the PDP for APGA to further his political ambition. Emeka is from Anam, in Anambra West Local Government Area. His zone, Anambra North has been agitating to be allowed to produce Anambra’s next governor after Governor Peter Obi, in the interest of justice and equity. Anambra North’s agitation has received the blessings of Governor Obi and many political stalwarts from across party lines in the state. Sources close to Emeka said Governor Obi’s disposition to a candidate from Anambra North informed his decision to ditch PDP. Activities around Emeka’s campaign organisation in Onitsha has been intense in the last couple of days, indicating that something big is about to happen. According to Chief Chidi Okafor, who works in the campaign as mobilisation officer, Emeka’s declaration for APGA will come sooner than later, as plans had reached an advanced stage. Emeka is a formidable political force in Anambra North Zone. In 2011 he ran the most effective and efficient campaign that saw him overwhelm both the APGA and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Senate candidates to clinch victory for the PDP in the senatorial zone. But his victory was short-lived, as the Supreme Court eventually awarded the Senate seat to Lady Margery Okadigbo. Efforts to reach Prince Emeka at the time of filing this report was unsuccessful, as his phones were switched off. However, sources close to him indicated that pressure was mounting on him to remain in PDP, being the party that brought him fame and to political limelight. Daily Sun also gathered that the ACN was taking measures to pick its candidate next month. Sources in the party revealed that the leadership was waiting for the outcome of the application for the registration of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the coalition of opposition parties, before setting out to pick the governorship candidate. It was gathered that which ever candidate is picked, would contest on the platform of the APC. Senator Chris Ngige has already indicated interest to contest for the party’s ticket. Daily Sun also gathered that the Labour Party (LP) would soon unfold its time-table towards the governorship election. So far, Chairman of the Capital Oil & Gas Industries Limited, Dr. Ifeanyi Uba, is the only aspirant campaigning visibly to pick the party’s ticket http://sunnewsonline.com/new/cover/anambra-guber-candidates-emerge-next-month/#!prettyPhoto

This is a welcome, its long over due anyways. This clown called okorosha should be cut to size for his rascality. |
The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has said it would not conduct elections in Imo State until the violence and unruly conduct by some politicians that led to the inconclusiveness of the Oguta constituency in the State Assembly re-run on June 29, 2013 is addressed by politicians in the state. Chairman of the electoral body, Professor Attahiru Jega announced this yesterday at the Nigeria Civil Society Situation Room organized by Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre [PLAC]. Jega who insisted that eight polling units remained cancelled, indicted officials of Imo State government and some members of the National Assembly for flouting the restriction order on the election day. He said, “the commission received reports that the election witnessed incidents of violence and unruly conduct by politicians, necessitating cancellation of the election in eight polling units. This cancellation made the election inconclusive.” The INEC boss who was answering questions on the cancelled election further stated: “Imo was regrettably a very bad election, particularly in Oguta where election has never taken place. The trend there was that the power brokers in the area would just return result declaring whoever they like as the winner. But in 2011, we insisted that election must take place in Oguta. But they ganged up and subverted the process. “Reports showed that officials of the Imo State government and some members of the National Assembly across party lines moved around freely despite the restriction order – some of them with security escorts! Worse, some of these politicians aren’t even from Oguta constituency where the election held. “Field reports showed that even though security agents mobilized appreciably for the exercise, there were cases of violence as well as ballots and result sheets snatching by thugs, as a result of which the election was cancelled in the following polling units: PU 001 in Ward 05 (Ndeloukwu/Umuowerre) – with 768 registered voters; PU 007 in Ward 03 (Izombe) – 939 registered voters; PU 009 in Ward 09 (Oru) – 708 registered voters. ”Others are PU 010 (Ward 09) – 657 registered voters; PU 011 (Ward 09) – 407 registered voters; PU 012 (Ward 09) – 408 registered voters; PU 013 (Ward 09) – 667 registered voters; PU 003 in Ward 02 (Egwe/Egbuoma) – 212 registered voters. http://sunnewsonline.com/new/cover/violence-inec-blacklists-imo/

The Op is being economical with truth. Did you see the transformation going on around Headbridge up to Upper Iweka areas? Onitsha is getting better and better by the day. The government is now fencing off the entire activities that use to create ills on the road around Drug Market, Ojukwu Way and up to Customs office. Though I agree with on second Niger Bridge, is long over due. Am in Onitsha now, I must say that am proud of the city and the level of work, cleaning of streets/roads by ANSEPA and general up grade of the city by developing the untapped hospitality and shopping in the city. The attraction of Shoprite and 5 star hotel by the present day government will go along way to tap into the untapped resources. |

UNIZIK is among the top three best universities to study in Nigeria. Even foreigners are now coming to study in the citadel unlike most of Nigerian universities. |
Dude want to continue to delivering projects till the last day in office. A feminine voice with a lion heart and 'can do' spirit. God Bless Obi. https://www.nairaland.com/1343548/chinese-company-constructing-agulu-lake#down |

Same news from Guardian Newspaper: HOPES of making Anambra a tourism destination in the South East may soon be achieved, if the latest effort by the authorities is anything to go by. The State has recently awarded the contract to a Chinese building and civil engineering firm - Soy Groan Construction Company Nigeria Limited, drive the Agulu Lake Hotel resort to boost tourism in the state. The project will gulp about N2 billion and consists of a four- storey building, with conference centre, shopping malls and other amenities. The contract is expected to be executed in nine months. Already, the contractor has moved to site and started clearing and other preliminary work. Meanwhile, Governor Peter Obi who visited the site last week said that the project was in line with the policy of the state government to develop all sectors simultaneously encapsulated in Anambra State Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS). Obi said that the resort would be of much benefit to the state, especially in providing the needed accommodation and other facilities to visitors, saying that it is located within the State Capital Territory. “With the Agulu Lake Hotel Resort, the capital territory will not only boast of an internationally standard hotel but will also have a hotel located in one of the best areas for such purpose. Obi who recalled that the resort was first conceived in the early 1970s in the old eastern region together with the Nike Lake Resort, regretted that Agulu Lake Resort had remained stillbirth until now. The Commissioner for Works, Calistus Ilozumba, an architect told newsmen that the project would be completed as soon as possible because of its tremendous benefits to the State. According to him, the Governor had directed all relevant ministries, especially Housing and Works to pay particular attention to the project. http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=125984:chinese-firm-bags-agulu-lake-hotel-resort-contract&catid=25:property&Itemid=655 |
Chillypelly: I feel some nostalgia hearing that the lady governor is retiring from active politics after his tenure ends in 2014. He tried his best and we the good people of Igboland appreciate and respect his decision. I will pray fervently that the next governor assembles a crack team of the egg heads in anambra to produce a blueprint that will lead anambra to where she ought to be found. I look forward to seeing the onitsha boulevard project that will accommodate the best business clusters in africa, The Louis Ojukwu Int'l Airport in Oba project, onitsha/asaba mega city project consummated, the refinery and petrochemical plant in aguleri completed and the business moguls of anambra origin to return home with a plethora of investments in all sectors of the economy of the state...The best comment from you ever.
