stanley102:I understand your point. But consider that in 2011 most of the results for the President were cooked up just like what they did recently in SS & SE. But with the introduction of card readers, it was difficult to cook up those fake voters in the APC stronghold states. It is not possible to have those amount of voter turnout that we were told from SS. |
12m Nigerians voted for Jonathan while 15m for Buhari. This is nothing to be ashamed of.I disagree with you here Mr Indomie Brain. Think about this, Buhari with no recognized party structure (not even a LG councillor), without campaigning at all in the entire South, without any known financial backing, etc was able to muscle 12million + votes in 2011. Fast forward to 2015, PGEJ with the power of incumbency, about 20 state governors + FCT min, the entire security apparatus of the country, excess funds to throw around, etc was able to garner just over 12million votes. It's a shame! |
This is something I have personally thought about lately. But I'm worried about the cost of procuring 150k cameras. How about the infrastructure (power) to support the functioning of the cameras, except there are battery powered ones. |
I think General Abdulsalami has been unsung. People have hailed the action of PGEJ, but nobody talks about the background role the Abdulsalami Peace Committee played in that whole process. For me, he deserves even more commendation - he is the real hero! Diezani knows how instrumental he is, so she has gone for him to help broker her soft-landing wit GMB (for the monumental fraud she has perpetuated at NNPC) . I hope the General does not accede to this Grand Thief. It is precisely because of dealing with people like her that Nigerians voted GMB. |
preselect:Fantastic review! My hope is that PDP or any other party emerges as a viable opposition to put the APC on their toes. I am not against opposition to the APC, I was only raising my concern about the possibility of PDP being that opposition. |
Gboliwe:I take that to mean that you are speaking for yourself and those under your sphere of influence alone |
Keneking:If APC wins the Gubernatorial elections in Akwa Ibom state, I give you my word that Akpabio will run and leave the Senate. The monumental fraud in the state is alarming and the new government with GMB at the center will definitely send him to where he belongs - Kirikiri. |
“We were with the President right down to the finishing line and proud that we turned in close to a million votes for the President.President Jonathan was heavily favoured and supported in Akwa Ibom. However, he would not have won a free & fair election by that embarrassing margin. Being in Uyo during the elections, I can confirm to you that the rigging was monumental. A certain video is being circulated on social media as proof. The real total turnout of voters wouldn't even be up to 600k. With Jonathan's loss, Akpabio's clout has left him, and he is no more the mini-god he has thought of himself. Akwa Ibom State is embracing change come April 11th. Umana Okon Umana (APC) is the next governor! |
PDP is very poor in the art of proper politicking and mobilization. Over the last 16 years they have depended on money, intimidation, Federal Might, etc to have their way. Now that they have lost their advantage, I'm not sure these guys have the wit, resilience and sagacity of Tinubu to offer a credible opposition. I hope they don't all defect to APC after the Gubernatorial elections. Modified: Should PDP loose Akwa Ibom & Rivers States, then their source of funds will really be compromised, making them virtually dead. |
Truckpusher:Politely providing an answer to my question would have cleared my curiosity. Now you confuse me even more. |

Truckpusher:I'm just curious. How come we had a ND president for about 6years and yet he couldn't somehow deliver what you are asking for? |
While I do think PGEJ acted very responsibly & statesmanly in the wake of the election results, I have my reservations about him. The way the results from SS & SE were 'cooked' up and the last minute attempt by Orubebe to disrupt the final collation leaves one with a lot of questions about his desperation for power. Add that to the way he made State institutions like NTA and the military to falsely mislead Nigerians on the Buhari certificate saga. |
The transition process has begun, following PGEJ call to GMB. I particularly like the way GMB ended that call - "my respect Your Excellency" |
It was further learnt that party leaders had since reached an agreement to ensure that all nominees for cabinet positions must meet strict guidelines to complement the high standard set by the President-elect..When the Leader sets the standard, everyone else falls in line and tries to work within those standards. If you have zero appetite for corruption, people under you will make effort to behave themselves else they incur your wrath. If you think corruption is not stealing, then your cabinet will respond in kind. Long live GMB! |
thotsofnaij:Learn to speak with decorum & civility. It will do you a whole lot of good. |
April4th:Learn to speak with decorum & civility. It will serve you well. |
Very cultured, modest, intelligent and beautiful - A Graceful Woman indeed! Perfect First Lady. |
ifex370:Well, you are right as the article itself used the word "strange". But there is an Edo proverb that says *when a witch cries in the night and a child dies the next morning, the link may not be far fetched* It must be a really worrying strange coincidence. |
abuchilag:Can you please point me to any article where the quote you just printed above was said by Buhari. |
What a sad price to pay for doing your job. This hard fought Change must be sustained. R.I.P to the dead. |
The Resident Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commissioner in Kano, Mikaila Abdulahi, has died, a PREMIUM TIMES correspondent in Kano has said. He quoted residents of Kano as describing the fire incident as “strange”. Mr. Mikaila, who oversaw last Saturday’s presidential and national assembly election in the state, reportedly died in a strange fire incident at his residence on Thursday night or Friday morning. Details of the incident are still sketchy, but our correspondent said Mr. Mikaila’s wife and two children were also killed in the incident. The spokesperson of the Kano state Command of the Police confirmed the incident to our reporter. More details coming…. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/180515-breaking-inec-resident-commissioner-wife-children-killed-in-strange-fire-incident.html |
This woman demonstrated partisanship in the most irresponsible manner. She should just leave DSS already, cos the hurricane of Change is about to blow in her direction and that of those compromised military leadership. |
If the elections were fair and open in the SS, you would have seen the General muzzle up 15-30% of votes, else why were there wild jubilations in Uyo & PH after GMB was declared winner, in spite of the so called 96% GEJ vote. That is how much we ALL wanted Change - across board. You guys do not want to test the resolve of the collective will of the Nigerian people. Your brother is in a better position to explain that to you guys. Respect yourselves! |
Is this threat an existential or real one? If it is real, I do think president Jonathan will call those militants to order. While I have never been a fan of GEJ, I think he has acted like a real Statesman & gentleman in the wake of the election results. The unity & progress of the country has guided his conduct more than his quest for power. If the militants truly consider GEJ as their leader, they should act responsibly in the best interest of the country, just like GEJ has done. However, should they choose to take laws into their hands, I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that the government of GMB and the collective will of Nigerians (who want peace & progress) will put them in their rightful place. Nigerians have made their choice...they should respect that and allow peace to reign. God bless the FRN. |
Rose2014:Point me to article where Buhari said he will make naira equal to dollar. Buhari simply said it was unacceptable to exchange dollar @ N230, and NAN with their mischievous agenda misled the public with the one naira - one dollar story. Sadly, all the newspapers took this news from NAN. If you can point me to any authoritative news source where Buhari was "quoted" as saying those words, I'll immediately apologize for my rants. I don't mean headlines, I mean where he was actually quoted as saying so. |
RevDesmondJuju:U welcome |
The success achieved in the last 6 weeks against BH assures me that this menace can be uprooted from our society. All it takes is the Leadership Will to do so. I'm confident we've got that leader and that will in GMB. |
President Jonathan has been Gracious in defeat, just as General Buhari has been Magnanimous in victory. "Congratulations on your victory...I will work with you to ensure a smooth transition" - GEJ "You will receive nothing but understanding, cooperation and respect from me and my team." - GMB No Victor, no Vanquished. Segun, I wish you will be considered for the position of Special Adviser to the President on Media, a position you so handled with dignity & aplomb for late president Yar'Adua. |
Don't understand how that will happen. Will the FAAC sharing formula suddenly change IFO osun? Don't think so. |
Would like to know which region the APC hopes to Zone the Senate President to. Hear it would have gone to SE, but sadly no senator from that region. My bet is on NC again (Bukola Saraki). |
Is this not the OPC man that promised Jonathan 6million votes from SW? Oh how Jona surrounded himself with low-lives who misled and scammed him. While he and his children will surely benefit from the New Nigeria led by GMB, he should keep his congratulations to himself - for he did not believe and want Change. |
