ComputersRe: I Think Nigerians Need Macintosh Computers! by Bibi(m): 9:20pm On Nov 22, 2005
@ gbade: I dont see the advantage for Nigerians to cling on to mac. For all you know, If Nigerians should be more open minded, then there is no reason to cling onto a closed-minded platform like mac...compared to windows, mac is sooo closed-up.

pros and cons - Windows apps are easy to come by, windows is easily pirated (and applications), windows pcs are dead cheap compared to macs, also you dont get much mac support in Nigeria compared with windows.

--- as such, I see no value in your reco.

PoliticsRe: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by Bibi(m): 3:23pm On Nov 22, 2005
Quote ""He came into government house, knelt down and prayed. Then he addressed thousands thanking the Ijaw people for bringing him back."

If the Almighty was Sopana, or Sango, he will strike him dead on his knees for this blasphemy, but God is all mercifull, probably laughing on his throne with amazement and amusement for this inglorious bastard of a clown.

....and thanking the thousands of Ijaw that brought him back  huh, hes back to finish the looting. Now he has to settle the mafia that smuggled him out for obviously a good price.

Anyway..a warning to nairalanders, watch out for the "full stop" org in Nigeria coming soon. Its a elimination squad for the likes of DSP. Nothing to fear.

No more comment.
ComputersRe: How Do I Get Bandwidth Via SAT-3? (NITEL Wholesale Internet Services) by Bibi(m): 3:12pm On Nov 22, 2005
@elaiho, be careful to commit all your eggs to Nitel. Try Globacom. A friend of mine is using 2mb link with them. Pretty reliable with more than 99.9% uptime so far in last 6 months or so.

PoliticsRe: Bayelsa State Governor Escapes from London, UK (Now in Nigeria!) by Bibi(m): 10:29pm On Nov 21, 2005
Land of Glorious thieves and shameless praise singers.

There is nothing to wait for - The immunity clause renders all prosecution powerless. And I do not think that any treaty exist between Nigeria and UK that overides immunity within Nigerian borders, so no extradiction.

Now we have two innocent governors jumping bail, using fake travel documents, dressed like a woman and recieved with a red carpet.

...I wonder where the loyalty of the so called Ijaw youths is. I really begin to detest their struggle. Charity begins at home.

jumped bail, dressed like a woman....how low can these shameless goons stoophuh?...On top of it all, the lowly condescending welcome, befitting a glorious thief.... cry ...sooo typical.
FamilyRe: Husband at Home While the Wife Works? by Bibi(op): 11:05pm On Nov 14, 2005
maybe we can apply a rule : whatever a woman can do, a man can do better. If women preach equality so much, maybe its ok for the man to take the backstage sometimes.
Car TalkRe: Let's Talk About Flying Cars! by Bibi(m): 12:28pm On Nov 12, 2005
The 1st flying car will neither be mercedez or any other big brand name.. Most probably a self motivated inventor, crazy enough to challenger the status quo. This is not a simple case of invention but a political challenge - its enough a big issue converting cars from using petroleum. Its possible, but the political will. The same for combining ground with air...some people will surely do the utmost to make it impossible, no matter the quality on invention. I see this as a mass product 100 years or so away. These new technologies will surely shape the meaning of development as new inventions will be more successful in developing economies than in developed ones.i.e, the so called 3rd world economies are absorbing new technologies at a faster rate compared with the Developed ones ..i.e. mobile/wireless telephony, 3G, alternative fuel conversion (i.e. sugar cane alcohol in Brazil to fuel cars, Coal in SA, Popularity in Hybrid cars), etc.
PoliticsRe: Do Nigerian Senators Care About Those They Represent? by Bibi(m): 12:13pm On Nov 12, 2005
They are not diffgerent from any other elected position. They are all self serving, never caring for their constituency, rather engaging in supremacy battles with Governors. In fact, Senators are at the bottom line of relevance, they have not done anything constitutionally significant for Nigeria since current deremoctratic inception in 1999. If they have done their job with dignity, there will be no need for ICPC, Constitutional conference, 3rd term preseidency huh huh cry, money laundering, etc. All these point to failure of the Senate and the parliaments in general.

Looks like the ladies have problem with that. I'm a full bloaded guy, if my lady boss wants a rough ride, I will gladly oblige... grin
PoliticsRe: When will Sub-Saharan Africa be on par with first world countries? by Bibi(m): 6:26pm On Nov 08, 2005
maybe in 50 years. I think Africa and 3rd world economy will redefine Development in 15 years or so as the West as we know it becomes aged. Europes development has slowed dramatically with increasing ageing population. With the right leadership and vision, 50 years can do it.
LiteratureRe: Best African Author: Wole Soyinka or Chinua Achebe? by Bibi(m): 8:41pm On Nov 06, 2005
The bitter rivalry between the two does not make either qualify. Also I believe a lot of people will vote on tribal lines on this. If indeed we are looking for best African Authors, we have to look beyond these two, they are surely African authors, but neither is Africa Best.

CultureRe: What Are You? Yoruba, Ibo or Hausa? by Bibi(m): 6:52pm On Oct 18, 2005
@ hot-angel; U think its weird? You can imagine the source of Nigeria problems having to do with 200+ like that with no one shifting position.
BusinessRe: New 1000 Naira Note by Bibi(m): 6:48pm On Oct 18, 2005
@ jally; that's all bullshit. How much is 1000 naira these days? how can you compare that to a 1000$?. The higher bills are needed in the society, especially in cash based society like Nigeria. I remember before the introduction of the higher denominations, I have to carry the 20 or 50N notes in bales, just to have dinner with friends.

Devaluation and denominations are completely different things.

SportsRe: Germany 2006 without the Super Eagles: how do we all feel? by Bibi(m): 8:56am On Oct 18, 2005
Other African teams will Rock Germany for Africa. Nigeria's absence is no reason for African representatitives not to perform. They can do well or even better than Eagles.
FamilyRe: How Many Kids Are Enough? by Bibi(op): 9:28pm On Oct 16, 2005
wow, 20 boys? Lots of dowries to pay, 20 times over only to receive one compensation grin.

Seriously speaking, this is what we should be addressing here; Most family wants males and if the males dont come early, this is a family vulnerable to many kids from same woman or additional wives. I once had an uncle who married a second wife after 5 girls from the 1st wive only to end up with additional 5 girls with the second wife. He died midway, otherwise I'm sure he wont have stopped until he got a boy.

I think the question is, after how many do you stop looking for a boy or a girl?
