RomanceRe: Can you really get a sincere girl in Nigeria? by Bibi(m): 10:13pm On Aug 11, 2005
Pasuma, there are plenty good/sincere girls in Nigeria. For me I think its the guys we should be wary about. Everyone is wearing a fine face but filled with 419 tricks in the pocket.....
BusinessRe: National ID Card to Become Credit Card? by Bibi(m): 10:06pm On Aug 11, 2005
There is no law on personal data protection in Nigeria that I know of and ethics are being violated with relish anyway. So no surprise if National Id or driver licence becomes credit cards. Very soon the National health ID card will become credic card and any other card will become credit card. Im not surprised, it must be the scheming of the legislatures who always look into turning public information/data into money via lucrative contracts. Im expectiong a 419 angle on this one, looks like the typical lead 419ers build on. Its only in Nigeria that I see the goverment is willing to commercialise peoples personal data rather than protecting them.
FamilyRe: Wife Beatings in Africa by Bibi(m): 9:57pm On Aug 11, 2005
No matter the reasons, wife beating is sore, it only demonstrates the mans lack of leadership at home. There is no "sin" from a woman that deserves beating. You find this in hot tempered folks mostly, and in most cases, they deserve more beating than the women. I have experinced this directly and I can say so. By the way, this is not an African phenomenon, its a general male gender problem.

FoodFast Food Joints by Bibi(op): 9:29pm On Aug 11, 2005
I noticed the springing up of many fast food joints in Nigeria these days.

In your opinion, do you consider these Nigerian fast foods healthy? Whats is your general opinion for and against fast food?
HealthAbortion: Why? by Bibi(op): 9:26pm On Aug 11, 2005
It is true that many women abort for so many reasons.

1. What are the reasons for abortion.
2. Do you find abortion acceptable, if so why? If not, why?
3. What will make you consider aborthion over other alternative?

PhonesRe: Alert! GSM 419 Experience. by Bibi(m): 9:15pm On Aug 11, 2005
DE-KING, ..... thats a modified version of the currency washing version of 419 where you pay upfront for the chemicals to wash the brown papers which turn into dollars.

Anyway, now you know it. 419 comes in various versions and as Layi said, its only the greedy that fall victim. Any proposition that ask you to fund an unknown/unplanned investment is 419. Dont be fooled.
PoliticsRe: Most Corrupt of the 3 Arms of Government in Nigeria by Bibi(m): 9:08pm On Aug 11, 2005
Debscom ---- thats called the dividend of democrazy. On a serious note, the legislature is the most corrupt. They have nothing to offer but as Debscom said, just meeting about sharing the loot. They are always inflating budgets without concrete reasons (anyway, the concrete reason is that they also run the major contracting firms that will end up chopping the capital budget anyway) to show for it, and nothing to account for their allocations.

I would say on a productivity vs loss basis, the legislature is the most corrupt. Its a negative productivity with a huge, almost immaginable overhead.

You girls have been rapping this topic a lot. However theres one obvious yoruba saying "olobe lo loko" (the one with the soup owns the man)....and remember the stomach is the mans worst enemy, if you can tame that with your good delicacies, you can be sure the man will always be home on time.. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy.......I dont think this is about a man turning u into a cook, but rather you using your cooking to keep they guy within reach... grin grin grin grin

RomanceRe: Do You Believe in Love at First Sight? by Bibi(m): 4:03pm On Aug 09, 2005
I think its LUST at first sight. Usually it sabout how she/he looks and the immediate errotic feelings. Thats not love, but lust. Usually doesnt go the long way.
PoliticsRe: Population Census 2005 (for Nigeria) by Bibi(m): 3:38pm On Aug 09, 2005
I think its a big mistake not to include the two infos in the demographic data. It is indeed a required demographic data to know how many Yorubas, hausas, Ibos etc are there (and how many christians, muslims etc) ,

I believe whoever says these should not be included should also abandon the federal character princinple, which was based on ethnic and race diversity. In essence, it looks like OBJ and co have aligned to continue to cheat Nigerians with the old 1961 demographic data. If we can do it in previous sensus prior 1991, why cant we do it now? Something odious is being protected at all cost.
Christianity EtcRe: Marrying Outside One's Religion by Bibi(m): 1:36pm On Aug 09, 2005
Weymola....you speak with true wisdom smiley
Christianity EtcRe: Marrying Outside One's Religion by Bibi(m): 11:02am On Aug 09, 2005
Marrying oustide one's religion, culture or colour is for the strong hearted, those who will give it what it takes. Love is a great influence, however as we say love is blind, we are not blind to religious differences, colour or race. For those who do it, including myself, we never saw religion as a barrier. The real barrier is the family and immediate society. As long as the couple can deal with the society bias, they will indeed enjoy their marriage.
PoliticsRe: Most Corrupt of the 3 Arms of Government in Nigeria by Bibi(m): 8:29am On Aug 08, 2005
Seun,

yes, thats what I mean. The invisible arm are those not directly linked to the 3 visible arms, but tend to run/dictate for the visible arms...past leaders, private sector, banks, our money bags, etc. This is the most corrupt.
PoliticsRe: Most Corrupt of the 3 Arms of Government in Nigeria by Bibi(m): 8:10pm On Aug 07, 2005
The invisible arm is the most currupt (think about it). At least we all know the 3 visible arms.
PoliticsRe: Why is Obasanjo Nigerian masses worst nightmare by Bibi(m): 1:17pm On Aug 05, 2005
I believe governing Nigeria has aged the man in recent times.
A leader is only bad in Nigeria when he's governing well.
He is bad as long as he doesnt allow people to get away with their greed.
He is a nightmare when people find it more difficult to defraud.

EducationRe: Nigerian Graduates Unfit for Employment? by Bibi(m): 8:21pm On Jul 31, 2005
The real problem with the quality of our graduates is not the students, but the educational system which empasises only reading and writing without much challenge on creativity and inventiveness. I was looking at my former university website a few days back and they were still running the same courses (title and descriptions) I did 15 years ago. The curriculum has not been updated in 15 years. Why?.....do we really have lecturers? (most lecturers and teachers are there by accident, after repeated failures to get other jobs or "ja" for good). Its a system in absolute decay that needs serious overhauling. You can only get maggots from rotten meat. Enough blame on the students. If the system is good (this doesnt have to do with economy, for goodness sake - Curriculum needs overhauling max every 5 years....its a basic requirement), the graduates wont be soo bad...
