PoliticsRe: Nigeria Presidential Air Fleet In Abuja by bibiking7(m): 11:58pm On Oct 06, 2013
Billyonaire: The purpose of this thread to my knowledge is expository, educative and historical. It is not to critique which President does what or not.

No country is without a problem, and I want to add that no country will EVER be without a problem, even the world power has shutdown.

The poor will always be amongst us and the poor will always blame the rich for their woes even though they spend greater of their times watching TV.

The President deserves a robust and secure fleet, not because we enjoy spending but because we need to protect the head cos without the head the body is but a madman.
are you trying to place the safety of the president over the welfare and wellbeing of most of his citizen who are struggling to survive. So, the president feels safer with 11 aircrafts than he would feel with 2 or 3. Let me remind you of the fact that death is constant and inevitable. President Umar Musa Yaradua had all these aircrafts in his control and all the security details of his predecessors but still died of his illness. DID YOU LOOK AT THOSE FIGURES? The money spent on maintenance is outrageous. If as a business man, you spend more than you earn, then your doom is looming, now imagine that on a global scale, our doom is looming. There is no fuccccckkinggg way to defend this. Bro, You sound like a reaonable guy, dont drag yourself to that level, a level which is so common on this forum these days, where people for some funny reason try to defend some of the outrageous, shameful and unbelievably stupid actions of the government.
"Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity, nothing exceeds the criticisms made of the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed." herman melville.

i finished from unilag in 2007. No regrets. alot has changed in the school though, I miss the old mariere shopping complex, i miss the bread (or yam) and egg in makama, makama was still a male hostel then and they used to sell food till 2am sometimes. I dont really miss the lecturers, but they gave me stories to tell (especialy amechi of physics dept.) Even in the labour market, unilag still shines.

yall should forget all this talk about naija this, naija that. the way i see it, dead people dont spend money. Last year, UK youths went on a rampage for a couple of days, looting stores, some went as far as stealing a whole 32inch TV. They took advantage of the shituation and robbed innocent shop owners. Now, just as we have touts in naija, we have some pant sagging punks that like to call themselves thugs in some other countries, that will shoot you for your pair of sneakers. I hate to say this but ....... it be's like that sometimes. (quote from the movie shorteyes.)

50calibre: Oh please! These are just normal diplomatic words, how gullible could some Nigerians be, what kind of remarks did you expect from Obama, scathing remarks?

Nigeria's position globally is undeniable, however does it live up to its position NO, at the moment and in the long term, is Nigeria vital to America's agenda NO, did he visit Nigeria on his latest trip to Africa NO. I don't know what other pointers you guys need.

Forget words, look at actions. How many minutes did the meeting between Obama & Jonathan last? Considering the fact Obama snubbed Nigeria during his Africa trip, if America was really concerned about its relationship with Nigeria, wasn't it imperative that Jonathan be treated to a proper state visit?

Go take a look at Medvedev's, Xi jing pi's, Taip Erdogan's, Cameron's, Netanyahu's, Ann San Su Kyi's visits, & then come back and talk to me.
You are right.

Everybody can not be an entrepreneur, skill acquisition also isn't for everybody. Government must start talking about Job creation. Jobs! Jobs!! Jobs and more Jobs.
True. Not everyone can manage the risks involved in business well. I have always had issues with that. And people should forget all that psychological crap that those motivational speakers are always coughing out. That nonsense about being an entrepreneur. If we all become entrepreneurs, who would we employ to do the job.
But, as for this association, i have said it before and will say it again, highjacking will be a big problem. I once joined a particular group in a protest, and when we were allowed to meet the people in charge, They said that they could only address 3 or 4 people and those peeps would spread the word. The 3 peeps that were selected were taken into the inner office and settled. That was the end of the protest and thus, the end of our course. Look at what happened to NANS, and what NLC did during the subsidy saga.

Those drainages were actually covered with concrete slabs which have either been removed (yes, removed) or damaged over time. Maintenance is a serious problem in Nigeria, hence they have been left uncovered for so long. Theft and vandalism is also a big issue. People actually steal the manhole covers on some roads in lagos (whyyy? I don't know). Its sickening and appalling.

cheiwura: It pains me whenever I remember that all what we do in Nigeria is politics of acrimony rather than that of ideology. Can somebody remind me population and economic endowment of South Africa vs their electricity generation capacity.

It is worrisome we will keep getting what we have been getting cause we keep doing what we have been doing.

Let us stop this campaingn of seeing political opposition rather than seeing critical national calamity. We are far from development if we keep celebrating 3400mw of electricity irrespective of whose light is costant on paper!

Nigerians it is high time we woke up from political manipulation. Campaigning with electricity after 50 years of independence is not a cheering news.

My opinion!
well said. peeps will campaign with anything these days.

First off, Some people should erase the impression that, anybody that criticises GEJ's government is supporting APC (some of us dont give a fvck about PDP, APC, CPC, TTT, ETC.)

Sincerely, if our government was a sincere one, even if they cant fulfil the promises that they made while campaigning, they should atleast be making a bold step towards it. And the progress should atleast be felt. I dont blame GEJ for naija's problem, but i would appreciate it if he could solve some of them. Now, what pisses me off, is how some people would try to attribute all the good things to GEJ and completely remove him from the negative stuff. We are not stupid. I still find it hard to believe that his pre-decessor was able to reduce fuel price by 5 naira and he just came in and removed subsidy. Lets not forget that we still have not felt the effect of the funds generated from the new fuel price and the silly buses that the federal government bought to aid transportation which we rarely see.

some people are quick to attribute the rise from 132 to 115 to him, but say that he is not to blame for the drop to 120.(i dont get it).

PoliticsRe: Dangote Attributes Success To Jonathan’s ‘favourable’ Policies by bibiking7(m): 6:50am On Sep 07, 2013
payless: Dangote is a liar! Dangote was a bilionaire before Jonathan became a politician. Dangote, you don't have to kiss Jonathan's a55 before you buy the rest of Nigeria. Dangote once said and I quote "you don't fight any government in power even when they are against you. You praise them even when they are against your business interest. I am the best friend of every Nigerian President".

Just because you have unprecedented import waiver from the Presidency doesn't make it a favoroble business experience for all other business men and women. Not everyone gets the same waivers the President gives you. Dangote should tell us how much he is paying the president, his family and associates in forms of campaign and political contributions before getting his import and tax waivers.
Thank you very much, nice comment. If i want to hire someone to wipe my A.S.S, i would hire a professional. Its just funny how the jona goons in this forum seem to think that most of us are retarded, based on the funny comments that they drop. bloody Cockeyed sycophants. I think dangote should have just said "favours" rather than "favourable policies". Even the OP had to put the favourable in quote.
FamilyRe: Girl Commits Suicide Over Mother's Comments by bibiking7(m): 11:00am On Aug 28, 2013
I see no reason why the girl should commit suicide cos of the barrage of insults she received from her mother. That's lame. But there are different kinds of people. The mum might have anger management issues, while the girl might be unstable psychologically. My folks used to whoop my A.S.S regularly and I still love them to death. In fact, I bet suicide wont even be an option for me cos I would probably be so scared of the whipping I will get if I don't die from the poison, and even if I end up dead, the A.S.S whooping might still take place in heaven.

As for NL, there are a lot of sick phucks here. I wonder how they interact with people in real life. Sometimes, I blame the person that insults, butttt, some comments will make you have to grind your teeth to hold back your tongue and fingers from calling the person a dumbass. But, I deal with it by concluding that not everybody in this forum is matured, so they are entitled to their own lame opinion. Plus I have seen worse. 'your father is a bastard' na regular statement for my secondary school, how many people you wan fight sef.

On the streets of lagos, you hear all sorts. am sorry, but I wont claim sir goody 3 shoes, cos I strongly believe that an occasional 'phuck off' is in order to ward off occasional fuckery and I don't see that as cyber bullying smiley.
THE BEST WAYS TO GET YOUR LATE FATHER GRATIUTY

Hi, friends I need help because am dying in silence over four years now. My late Dad worked with PHCN as a officer IID in service and the family is entitled to his gratuity, it worth millions of nairas and has been long overdue. So far as a next of kin we the have undergone several processes concerning it but not forth coming and the situation is getting more critical help advice please. Here is how far we have gone: we have paid and swear affidavit in court, opened a joint account for the family, processed documents with his last service unit/office here in the State and has been sent to Zonal head office at Jos, and was equally sent to Lagos but it is up to three years now no response. We try to follow up early this year by bridging protocols, reach the head office at marina in Lagos, our file are left undealt with. All they tell us is that the Government have not send money for payment, please my fellow nairalanders what do the family do to get this gratuity? Help please help Thanks. THE BEST WAYS TO GET YOUR LATE FATHER GRATIUTY
Go to the head office in marina and ask to see one of the personnel managers and discuss your plight with them.. Would have referred you to someone, but I have to ask first if the person can help or if the person would have time to help. Sorry, but I am not good at asking for favours.

The word homophobic seems like a fallacy, because, the word phobia basically means fear and I am not afraid of phaggots, I just don't like them. That said, I am allowed to have my own opinion about people and there acts. Just as some folks don't like me cos I am black, some peeps don't like Muslims or Christians, some peeps despise atheists, infact, some peeps don't like Catholics and Jehovah's witnesses. They have formed their own opinions about those particular groups of people.

Now, the thing is, how you act towards those people is the main issue. Just as it is wrong to kill people based on their race or religious affiliations, I don't think we need to kill phaggots. Do as thou wilt with your A.S.S.Holes. I have even had passes made at me and I just either ignored or told them to phuck off or politely told them that I don't swing that way. BUTTTT that is as civil as it gets. I have a friend that was almost r.ape.d by a guy cos he passed the night in his crib, now I don't pass the night in just any crib for fear of killing any dude that tries to touch me funny and then end up in prison where I will most likely get my A.ss busted..

Nuff said.

P.S. Forget all that crappy talk about being born gay. Phuck it, NO ONE IS BORN GAY. phucking guineas undecided

Bsmartt: Glory be to the almighty(SWT). this argument is the result of the preaching of our religious leader whose preaching is majorly on hatred for the other faithg its high time they started preaching love and peaceful co-existence among believers of different faith especially in a plural society like NIGERIA. We all know that people convert from one religion to another without any hullabaloo and kaos. Please let us check ourselves! PEACE
Very true talk. Religion has now become a competition rather than a conviction. WHy dont people just try to preach good will for their fellow humans. All they do is talk trash about the other religion to make their religion seem like the right path. They have forgotten that evil does not have a race, tribe or religion. Gruesome murders and crimes have been committed by people of different tribes, race and religions. I have seen atheists with far better character than most of the christians or muslims that i know.
People are here debating about the right of a 25 year old girl to decide which religion she wants to practise. Sounds very silly. SHE IS 25. She can even decide to practice hinduism if she likes. I really have to check that thread that talks about the predominant age on nairaland.

I hate phaggots, they disgust me. But, my belief is that they made thier choice and if their choice of sexuality does not infringe on my way of life in anyway. Then cool, they can burst their A.sses anyway they please. I see no reason why the guy should be lynched if he was not bothering anybody, thats just plain sick and barbaric. I am not one to generalize, but from the comments of the Ghanians here and my interaction with some Ghanians on my BBM, i feel like i will be shot at the airport, if i visit Ghana.. Too much hate and anger in the comments. This is not the first time too. I am a Nigerian, and even i know the issues naija has with tribalism. So, its already obvious that if you strike that nerve in a Nigerian, we go into country defense mode. I dont blame Ghanians for doing the same. Diss an American and see what happens. Abeg, both countries get them ills and issues. We should give all this E-wars a rest. kushe: @Natasha

People will never realise the value of truth till its consequence strikes them. Are Nigerian graduates lazy?In my own assessment, absolutely with a capital A.how about their sense of entitlement? These bunch of poorly educated so called stars(especially the ones post NYSC)attend job interviews and mention sums they intend to earn, sums that are so divergent from their numerical abilities. They hardly can write a decent letter with the right tenses, can hardly think backwards to solve a simple problem and yet they feel they deserve the world. If I have not met and interviewed a whole bunch of them then I would be totally unfair right now but it is just pathetic how bad our products are and Natasha ,let them crucify you, your tone was stern but absolutely required.
To those of you shouting Indian this,Indian that,go outside the shores of this country and sign any form of bond with the intention to breach it and get schooled in what the word 'cicilized' means. We all talk about your word being your bond and not reneging on a promise made.Haven't you ever heard that you can't eat your cake and have it?You signed a bond that stipulated the terms of your release.if you are not happy, guy produce the 250k and stop immersing the reputation of those of us that intend to live right in the mire of a perceived morally bankrupt existence.
Your generalisation is an insult to the hard working youths in Nigeria. Fine, you can say a large percentage of the youths (if you so wish) But your statement makes it sound like all the youths are lazy. Not good at all madam. the way some of us hustle is beyond your comprehension.

As for the enslaved OP. I would never advise anyone to leave a job without getting another one (except na factory work, cos i don hear say people hand dey cut for there). So, if you dont have another job, better dey hustle dey go. Most of these companies make people sign bonds, cos they dont want to spend money training a staff then he runs away to use the acquired skills in another company. But, if the stress is too much for you, just do something to make them sack you. Or just stay at home. No be by force, as long as you no steal them money. OR, you can just call suge knight and give him the address of your oga and he would do to them what he did to eazy e from the pent house balcony.
