Imagine American govt begging osama bin laden for forgiveness ? How do u think the family of the victims will feel about the move? How do u think osama and his boys will feel?
Nigeria has been turned into a lawless and uncivilized jungle; anything goes with zero regards for human beings in general. And we can not only blame the weak leaders, the f00lishness is obviously contagious; the leaders are not the only f00ls, the citizen are also stupi d.
This is why the equation has not be vigorously challenged for this long (leaders=f00ls / citizens=stupi d)

One thing is certain at the end of the day, OBJ wouldn't have made the move if Iyabo was one of the victims of Boko Haram.

We need to stand up, use our brain and challenge our lowlife weak leaders. Nigeria belongs to all of us.

@ Chuxyn
I didn't expect u to get it.
Our backward state of mind and low level of thinking got us here in the first place, therefore, I can completely understand why many see nothing wrong with this low standard move. Time is the only thing that will tell.

Let's just wait and see.

There is nothing sad than when the entire group of blind men sleep and face the same direction.

This move is absolutely not a good move, the negative outcome is a long term. Just let us all wait and watch, may be Nigerians can learn one or two things from this mistake.
Nigeria is no longer a village, therefore it is important for us to wake up and do things accordingly, smartly and perfectly, while we continue to think of not just today, but also tomorrow.

This wuruwuru bushman move will only give Boko Haram the confidence and attention they've been seeking for for some time. It is more or less justifying their despicable actions. And the sad of all is other vicious groups out there who are ready to follow the same foot steps of the BH.

Yes, Nigerians mostly think of today with absolutely no sense of tomorrow, But let us wait a minute and try for a change to use our brain.
What OBJ has done would have worked 50 yrs ago, but in 2011 I'm sure that it will only sink us deeper into the red sea.

You don't have to believe me, Just wait and see the outcome of this move.

Furthermore,
OBJ"s move is not to protect anybody but the looters, the corrupt leaders. Because sooner or later they (corrupt leaders) would have been Boko Haram target.

Please do not be a fool, do not give OBJ or our weak government any credit for this move.
The corrupt leaders are the government, it is obvious that Boko Haram has issues with the government, Therefore, sooner or later Boko haram would have shifted their attention to targeting all the leaders that have stolen from us.

OBJ is simply protecting the interest of all the corrupt leaders and not an average Nigerian.

Absolutely a very wrong move by OBJ.
You must not negotiate with a terrorist group under all circumstances

In general, leaders are confronted with challenges and opportunities that are extremely dynamic and complex, the tough part of it all is making critical decisions with absolutely incomplete information. This is why they are called leaders, why we all look up to them, why they are elected to their various important positions and why they should be leaders.
But in my country, things are seen and done differently; and this is why we call our leaders looters.

Obasanjo again has made a despicable move that will only add to the mess already on ground.
This type of move will send a wrong message not only to Boko Haram group but also to other vicious groups (copycats) out there. Negotiation is a clear indication of weakness; you just don't do it, at least not this way.
OBJ should have realized that negotiation with this type of terrorist entails real costs we cannot afford.

OBJ has simply sold the country to the Boko Haram at a very cheap price. Mark it down, this group is gaining confidence by OBJ's visit, they feel that their actions have been been justified. They will strike again.

You do not negotiate with terrorist
You do not give them any positive attention
You do not embrace any of their premises
You do not sit with them.
You do not let them notice your weakness.

United stated leaders didn't just put these rules together, they've don't their home work extensively. If you don't go by these rules you will pay.
Mark it down, OBJ's move will not solve anything, but only encourage this group to go crazy whenever they feel like it, and keep in mind that the Delta connection (militants) is also watching.

What Nigerian government should have done:
They should have secretly invited the current leader of this terrorist group and strike a closed door deal with him. (OR) they should have sent a neutral representative to discover the best way to settle the matter with the current leader of this group. But as a former president or a current president, you absolutely do not meet with any kind of terrorist group, (especially with a terrorist group who has killed close to 1000 innocent citizens)
Jonathan has no brain and OBJ's brain is also still missing.

IBB will never have made such a fo0lish and selfish move.
I called it selfish move because OBJ has only made this move simply to become relevant once again.

There is nothing better for any nation than to have a president that has common sense and can think effectively on his own.

Sorry, I totally disagree with the move.

Even if our heads are empty and lacking blood circulation, let us still try and use the our empty skulls well to the best of our ability.
First, What is there for IBB to gain to be involved in such a despicable act?
Second, If Jonathan does well as our president the better it is for IBB, who Jonathan has embraced publicly and even called "daddy"
And finally, IBB is too smart to get himself in any thing that will crumble this nation. As one of the most relevant and reliable statesmen, IBB wants nothing but the best for this great nation.
I'm sure that who ever this topic is referring to is absolutely not IBB.

May God bring peace to Nigeria and destroy all the enemies of progress

@GBAWE

This topic is about Tinubu, don't let us make it to be about IBB or myself, let's remain focused. In fact, you can go ahead and open another topic for IBB and allow me to surprise you.

As soon as we all put sentiment aside and completely understand that it is all about Nigeria and our future, things in this country in general will get better.
The politicians have used their money, political power and black magic to brainwash a lots of Nigerians; this is why many of us today find it extremely difficult to be on the same page or come together as one to deal with these thieves.
If we want our country back from the hands of evil doers, we must not allow the capturing of any of these thieves divide us. We must come together and support our government to deal with them vigorously.

While a very large percentage of Lagosians practically beg for food to survive daily, Tinubu has constantly sucked the pocket of this state, in the name of "godfatherism and we are building a new Lagos".
A new Lagos that 95% of Lagosians can not afford to live or visit.
Politics / Re: Tribunal Summons Tinubu Over 10 Foreign Accounts by BigB11(m): 2:51pm On Sep 10, 2011
Something tells me that Nigeria is finally ready to deal with this common thief.
It would have been a sweet water if death penalty was in place.

Tinubu is a break Jonathan has been searching for for sometime. From what I"ve heard, I will not be surprised if this low-life is used as a perfect scape goat that this administration needs to bring back our country. Mark it down.

Everyday happens to be thief's day, but one single day (black Friday) belongs to the owner of the farm. I think Tinubu's wings are about to be clipped for good. And Fashola will not hesitate to sing against his estranged boss to safe his own political career.

In short, this is going to be a very deep, and rough cold water for Tinubu to swim thru this time around; I think he (Tinubu) clearly knows this fact too, this is why lately he's been sick in the head off and on.
Politics / Tribunal Summons Tinubu Over 10 Foreign Accounts by BigB11(m): 2:33pm On Sep 10, 2011
Tribunal Summons Tinubu over 10 Foreign Accounts

The Code of Conduct Tribunal has summoned former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to appear before it on Wednesday, September 21, for alleged breach of the code of conduct for public officers, signaling a commencement of his trial for allegedly operating 10 foreign account while in office.

Tinubu was Lagos State governor from 1999 to 2007.

The former governor confirmed the summons last night through his Chief Press Secretary, Olakunle Abimbola, saying, “after years of threats, political mudslinging and media trial on the impending allegations, a formal invitation to commence trial has finally come, which he welcomes”. According to the CCT official, Tinubu is facing trial for allegedly operating several foreign bank accounts contrary to Section 7 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap 56 Laws of the Federation, 1990. The offence is punishable under Section 23(2) of the same Act.

Tinubu was first charged before the tribunal on 24th April, 2007. The trial was, however, stalled for seeming lack of political will to prosecute the former governor on the part of the tribunal. Some had also viewed his prosecution then as an attempt by the Peoples Democratic Party-controlled Federal Govern-ment to silence opposition forces. Tinubu, the leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, has repeatedly denied any wrong doing in office.

The former governor is accused of operating 10 different foreign accounts while in office as governor contrary to Section 7 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap 56 Laws of the Federation, 1990 and punishable under Section 23 (2) thereof as incorporated under paragraph 18, part I of the 5th Schedule to the 1999 Constitution. He was said to have failed to declare the foreign bank accounts in the assets declaration form CCB-1 which he submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau when he was elected governor. A deputy director at the Code of Conduct Bureau, Mrs. Ikechi Iwuagwu, deposed to an affidavit to the effect that the former governor failed to disclose the foreign accounts for which he was charged before the tribunal.

The Foreign Accounts
(1) First Heritage Bank, Country Club Hills, Illinois, USA with Account Number 263226700.

(2) Citibank NA New York, USA operated in the name of Bola Tinubu and Compass Finance and Investment Company Ltd with Account Nos- 39483134, 39483396 and 4650279566.

(3) Citibank Internati-onal New York. Account No. 52050-89451952 and 52050-89451953.

(5) HSBC, 177 Great Portland Street London WIW 6QJ with account name as Bola Oluremi Tinubu.

(6) HSBC, 177 Great Portland Street London WIW 60J. Account Number 04320002DN.

(7) HSBC, 177 Great Portland Street London WIW 60J. Account Name: Tinubu Habibat Oyindamola (Miss). Account No-1320960111

(10) HSBC, 177 Great Portland Street London WIW 60J. Account No- 41421522. Account Name- Oluremi Shade Tinubu.

Confirming that he received the summon, Tinubu said in a statement by Abimbola that: “The summons was signed by the chairman of the Bureau. It was dated 6 September, 2011. “The summons alleged the contravention of Code of Conduct for public officers, whilst Asiwaju Tinubu was governor of Lagos State, by operating several foreign bank accounts, between 1999 and 2007, in alleged contravention of Section 7 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap 56 LFN, 1990.

“The Bureau in the service invited Asiwaju Tinubu to appear before it, in Abuja, on Wednesday, 21 September 2011 at 10 am. Asiwaju Tinubu wishes to state that after years of threats, political mudslinging and media trial on the impending allegations, a formal invitation to commence trial has finally come, which he welcomes. “He said that as a law abiding citizen, when he was informed that the summons had arrived, he directed his staff to duly accept it; and not evade service.

This is in conformity with his profound respect for the rule of law. He wishes to state that as the battle now shifts to the Code of Conduct Tribunal, those who allege must prove. He also welcomes the opportunity to put an end to years of insinuations, unproven allegations and politically orchestrated persecution.

“The National Leader of the ACN calls on everyone to keep calm but be vigilant, while the Nigerian judiciary do justice in this matter.”

Just a couple of days ago, a Nigerian politician front-man picked up 5 black customized Mercedes-Benz 2012 S Guard Edition, from a Benz dealership center located somewhere in US.
FYI: Benz S Guard Edition is a luxury sedan/SUV bullet and bomb proof vehicle, specially made for the celebrities, dignitaries, and the obsessively paranoid big wigs.

Our great leaders have already started to shop and prepare themselves for the worst by modifying their life style to accommodate the newly discovered Naija way of life (Boko Haramism era). It is a wake up call to these folks that sooner or later BH will start targeting them.

Boko Haram and corrupt leaders remain the biggest enemies of this country; both should be dealt with vigorously and equally.

May God bless Nigeria and the rest of the world
Politics / Re: Boko Haram Is Not Our Problem, Corruption Is by BigB11(m): 10:42pm On Sep 07, 2011
I see no difference between Boko Haram and corrupt leaders.
Boko Haram and corrupt leaders are the enemies of this country. They are at the same level and should be categorized together. They should be severely attacked with full force. and their punishment should be the same.

Jonathan should be honest and loyal to the citizens that put him in the office, by exercising the same energy to fight both enemies (Boko Haram and corrupt leaders) of this country vigorously.
I still think corrupt leaders are more deadlier than Boko Haram
Politics / Re: Boko Haram Is Not Our Problem, Corruption Is by BigB11(m): 10:17pm On Sep 07, 2011
I'm sure that now that bomb is sounding all around Nigeria, our leaders will be sincere and willing to make sure that no stone is left unturned to find solutions to this new development/enemy of progress. While these f00ls that called themselves leaders run around for solutions without any hesitation, we must not forget that their pure sincerity to fight terrorism in Nigeria is not to protect anyone or citizens, but themselves. They know that sooner or later they (leaders) will become the target of this terrorist cult.

I wonder what would have happened many years ago to our economic growth in Nigeria if they (Leaders) have put up this same kind of energy or aggression on fighting against terrorism to fight corruption?

Of course without any questions we denounce any kind of terrorism on our mother's land, but if you ask me, I will say corruption in Nigeria is a little bit more deadlier than Boko Haram. For over 30 years, corruption has claimed more lives in Nigeria than anything else.

Let us work hard toward stopping CORRUPTION in Nigeria.

Boko Haram isn't our problem, corruption is, Death Penalty For Corrupt Leaders

It is unfortunate and very sad that we have to visit this topic once again, but it is what it is, if we want a better NIGERIA we must not give up, we must keep the pressure going.

This was posted on July 30 2008, when Yaradua was still our president:
Message for Yaradua:
No need to further waste our time and money; at this point:
Don't bother to give us constant power supply
Don't bother to give us constant water supply
Don't bother to improve education standard in Nigeria
Forget the medical system in Nigeria
And also forget improving the infrastructure.

Just give us a priceless gift and revise the constitution of our country; By immediately imposing the public execution of any convicted corrupt entities (after Oct 2008).
Once the death penalty is back on the block (imposed), I guarantee you guys that all of us will immediately witness automatic constant power/ water supply. All these necessary amenities and the other impossible things will become feasible naturally in a very short period.

Why do you want these folks to continue to take us for a long ride?
Why do you want them to continue to waste our money on improving power sector and other invisible projects?
Why do you want EFCC to continue to chase these folks (governors) in a circle?
Why do you want crisis in Niger Delta to continue?
Why do you want to continue to deal with snow in whiteman's countries?
How long and how many of us are still willing to continue to escape from Nigeria to be slave drivers in other countries?

Do not let us continue to fool ourselves any longer; Nigerians are too damn smart to be anybody's fools.
Support the implementation of death penalty today and see your country fly high once again.

I'm sorry guys, anything else will be nothing but a waste of time and money.

Absolutely, nothing else will work, I guarantee you!

And here we are today still nursing this same old rubbish called corruption.

LET US SAFE NIGERIA BY IMPOSING DEATH PENALTY FOR ALL CORRUPT LEADERS. THIS IS THE ONLY SOLUTION TO ALL OUR TROUBLE IN NIGERIA, NOTHING ELSE WILL WORK IN THIS COUNTRY
