@chidichris

Absolutely, you have a point, but you can not castigate this woman for wanting to stay or for wanting to fight to the end. To me, this case is very mystifying and I truly think there are couple of other people (Big Wigs) who were supposed to benefit greatly from this contract; these people are currently being protected. Hence, I will not be surprised if we do not see the end of this allegation.
FYI: Most illegal contracts awarding in Nigeria are linked, which means if Madam speaker goes down many others will follow. There is a possibility that these other invisible individuals are too big to go down with madam speaker. Therefore madam speaker is not only fighting for herself, but also fighting for many other folks.
There is also a possibility that she has the abetment of the bigger fish.
Let's chill and see what happens.

Politics is a bastard!

I truly do not know too much about Etteh's trouble, but if she feels that nothing is wrong with her action and she can effectively defend all charges, I truly do not see anything wrong with fighting to the end.
It is part of leadership roles, you must know how to stay strong and stay focused during difficult periods; I guess this is one of those moments.

I say fight for your rights, fight to the end.

Moreover, this is a great example for the ladies; you don't have to always back down for bunch of thugs.
(Yes, I said THUGS. Why? Because 99% of these people who are extremely busy accusing Madam Speaker are also hypocrites)

Yes, Bush has done a lot for Africa, but do not get things twisted; at this point Mr. Bush has no choice but to be generous. As we all know, at this moment he is very unpopular around the world; therefore, it's fair to state that Mr. Bush's generosity to Africa in general can not be easily determined whether it's sincere or just another distraction strategy.
By the way, Bill O'Reilly also happens to be one of Bush's boys.
I guess, one needs to say no more.

It is very sad that up until this morning this idiot still hasn't gotten it yet.
This is the same man who has interviewed highly educated blacks and has also been around none rapper black celebrities, who are well mannered and articulate eg Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Bill Cosby, Whoopi Goldberg, Jessie Jackson Sr and Jr, Bakari Kitwana, Kwesi Mfume, Barack Obama and many many more.
Hence, his statement wasn't a sincere mistake, but an exposure of his muddled state of mind.

This man is a big fool and his barbaric statement is totally unacceptable under any circumstances. He needs to be a man and exhibit intelligence by coming out to offer an apology; but I doubt it because he is a Red Neck and a blockHead.

His time will come.

By the way, your post is excellent.

If you have a better description for this bastard, please let me know. I will gladly change it.

For now, in my book, he remains a pure racist mongrel (bastard)

Tornadoz accused me of belittling the efforts of people like Jesse Jackson and Rev Sharpton. that is simply not true. That I criticise Obasanjo does not mean I belittle his efforts. I just feel some things they are doing are wrong and will need to be corrected. I did mention some Black leaders who have the same goals as they do but with different approaches that I believe are much better. So accusing me of being anti-black is simply a slap on the face of truth.

It is that same attitude I have here. I do not judge people based on the colour of their skin, their ethnicity or nationality. It is the discriminatory WAZOBIA mentality that many Nigerians have, that they have translated to their world-view and thus think anything or anyone different than them must be evil and bad. It would be good if we can set sentiments aside and deal with issues and facts as they are.

While in Nigeria, I employed Hausa, Igbos and Yorubas without any thought to their tribe. I even provided scholarships to 2 hausa boys who showed keen interests in education but without the resources to pursue their dreams. The first time the thought of ethnicity came to my mind was when my Driver, who was yoruba, commented that he was surprised how openly, freely and closely I relate with people of different cultures, and even employ them without giving prefernce to yorubas.

Racism against blacks is greater than your wealth, education, location, pride, and identity as a human being.
It doesn't matter who you are, if you're lucky, at the end of the day you will be the lead slave.

You're free to hold on to whatever opinion you desire, but let's pray for unity and everlasting freedom for blacks in general.

One love!

Prizm or Tayo-D:

I got the message, no need to waste time proving anything. I have been there, done it and then retired.

It's not a big deal; I love the game.

Enjoy!

No talk that thing near Denex.You know Malays are Muslims and are of the Mongoloid race according to Denex,hence we must support them even though anti-Black racism is more pervasive amongst Arabs,Indians and Chinese than amongst Whites.
My Reply:
You're absolutely correct, but the different is the fact that whites still represent the powerful majority. And if we are successful fighting for our rights against the whites, trust me, the rest (Arabs, Indians and Chinese) will just be side attractions."
ie: If the powerful majority (whitemen) settle down and treat blacks with respect and accordingly, the rest (Arabs, Indians and Chinese) will have no other choice, but to follow.

Job well done, Mr Tayo-D alias Prizm (I love this game).

Once again, you're absolutely right.

Have a nice day.

Well, sorry sir, the issue here is much more than just what this man said.
It's about his untidy state of mind.

Folks like him shouldn't be allowed to maintain a talk show. It's 2007 and folks are ready to work together as one.

As you've stated, it is a free world and one is free to hold whatever opinion he or she desires.
In my book, Bill O'Reilly is a racist and a pure hypocrite.

@Prizm:
I respect your stance regarding this statement, but I did not only make my conclusion based on just this statement. This man has been around for many years and he has done nothing but dragged black community on the floor.

Do you know what he thinks about Amado Diallo, Sean bell, Katrina, Jena6, Africa, immigrants and many many more?
Politics › Re: Bill O'reilly A Racist mongrel by BigB11(op): 5:38pm On Sep 27, 2007
@Prizm:

Example:

Let's say that I went to Carmine, an Italian restaurant in Time Square NY City. After my pleasant visit, I went ahead and made this statement to positively impress the Italian community:
"While I was at Carmine today, I couldn't believe that there wasn't any mafia, no shooting, no drugs, no vulgar tongue or gesture, no Sopranos, no gambling, no stealing and I didn't even see any European peasant"
Now:
What kind of reaction do you expect from the Italian folks?
Do you expect these folks to take my barbaric statement as a compliment?
Politics › Re: Bill O'reilly A Racist mongrel by BigB11(op): 5:35pm On Sep 27, 2007
Folks, this discussion doesn't deserve this level of vitriol. Just go and listen to or read a full transcript of the incident in question and decide for yourself. When you do, you will see that this is nothing more than a storm in a teacup. Frankly, nothing can be more exasperating as the readiness of some black people to begin some crying and moaning over every piffling charge of white racism.
You are absolutely correct; but looking at the record of this individual, one has to think twice about this statement.

FYI: Majority of the criticism is coming from white folks.

@Tayo-D:

Dude, you've been smelling yourself since yesterday, but I refuse to entertain your foolishness. I've even clearly expressed to you that this is not a fight, but you continue to personally attack me.
My man, absolutely there is no reason for this; trust me, you can clearly make your points without exhibiting all this childish disposition and you will still get a lot of attention.

Why can't you please do yourself a favor, find someone else (MAMAJAMA is back, I'm sure he will be glad to entertain your childish demeanor).

Have yourself a great day!

So we should crucify a man for racism based on the accusation by a Black racist. How interesting!
What are you talking about?
And who is this black racist?

This topic is about a white racist (Bill O'Reilly), not all racists.

NOTE: As long as you are black in the US you are largely part of the black\African American society, regardless of whether you are African or what have you. The sooner you accept this the better.
Wow!

It's more like someone telling you that the rest of your sibling are animals except you. Most of the stereotype against black people should largely be blamed on illiteracy, ignorance, and lack of orientation etc. People fromany race may exhibit these traits.
Magnificent!
