calculator123:if your plan is to travel out immediately you finish. then mathematics is not a bad. what do you want? to gain knowledge and know-how and then be involved with ground breaking research or to earn a fat salary. |
Durentt:how many of them? where are all these so called maths graduates working in Nigeria? |
calculator123:Bro don't be deceived I don't know why most of the people replying you recommend mathematics. In Nigeria of today engineering is by far the most lucrative option. that is what the labour market wants. check any job site and see how many placements for engineering compared to mathematics. I don't know why they are not being truthful even if they love maths. yes in advanced countries the sciences and maths leads and are a bit better but in countries like Nigeria. I will advise anybody to stufy engineering over maths. See! what you have to ask yourself is? if I crossover to engineering will I be a first class or 2.1 graduate? if yes go for it. if no, if u see urself struggling in engineering to get a 2.2 or 3rd class then don't border. ask yourself bro am many maths graduates do you hear of their succes story? The ones that are whining(advising) you how many of them earn more than engineers. Baba forget that thing. if you have the brain go for engineering. |
kaziblake:go to the origin. The source. Go Catholic |
agreed |
But why are u people still giving this guy relevance. "he say or he doesn't say" is inconsequential in Nigeria of now. Please stop creating threads of what the bird says on Twitter amd MODs stop moving it to front page! |
Llanthony401:Rome was not built in day. its crystal clear they're far ahead of us but small smal we too will get there. The important thing is to start which we have done. |
This is my kind of dream job. kinda place I would like to work. Nigeria's equivalent of the US Lockheed Martin |
suyamasta:I don't think some of you get it. the normal laws of demand and supply are being thwarted by some BDC's/dollar sellers so they can make more money at the deriment to the naira. when the cbn didn't put restrictions the naira was falling now that it has put restrictions the naira is still falling that tells us something that wrong. btw how many sectors in Nigerian economy and indeed the world do you see the normal laws of demand and supply work. Every item is control or manipulated by humans. a good example is the recent fuel crisis. nnpc has made it clear that they imported more than enough fuel but some group of marketers decided to create scarcity in order to make more money especially in this "travelling period". I hope u get my point. |

Freemanan:destined? how? In your present realities don't you have freedom to do whatever you want. how is it an illusion. why do u want to refuse to accept the "rationality"/reality of freewill? since you are all about rational thoughts. |
Freemanan:because God has given man Free will. freewill to do and undo, free will to believe in his existence or not.....ati be be lo. ![]() Plus don't try to box God into your rationality. He is beyond your rationality. He is beyond "the rational" of man. The created our present realities , our present rationalities. |
babajeje123:Mr oga. The Bible portion you quoted was talking about giving to your neighbour. I said giving to the church is not a guarantee to lift someone out of poverty. Yes it is possible but not a guarantee. What God promised us is salvation and not necessarily wealth(although wealth can be added blessing). He says we should take up our cross and follow him. Many of us have reduced the worship of God to the level of only receiving "blessings and favours". What about our life style? Our words? Our attidude in pleasure and in pain? Our virtues and morals? He didnt need to say "the only reason why we still collect offering is to lift u people out of poverty". What kind of condescenting statement is that! Like without the people the church will still stand. The church is the people. He shouldnt talk down on them like they are useless. I have no problem with the second statement by the way. |
"let me tell you the truth;the only reason we still take offerings is to get you out of poverty" - if truly he said this. It is a very wrong statement to make. 1. how does giving offering lift one out of poverty? Did God say that our offerings is an exchange to get wealth? 2. If he had said the only reason we still take offerings is to help you get salvation that would have made sense. 3. If he is to be honest "getting people out of poverty is not the only reason they take offering". They take offerings to finance the church to finance the spread of the gospel( if that is really what they do). |
Sweetlemon:I hope you don't think sexy to mean tight fitting cloths without exposing skin? |
Atmmachine:all ye Americans. You guys have lost almost all sense of morality and culture such that yhe lines are now blurred. You people have accepted almost every form of irresponsibility and evil under the guise of "equality and fairness". |
holyFRED:my brother there are no first class or second class doctors. All doctors are doctors. chikina ![]() |
quincybee12:so the Catholic Church is not a "Bible believing church"? 2. was it the holy spirit or your friends that inspired you? 3. if you don't have a problem attending every other church(most of which you don't know their origin) why do u have a problem attending the Catholic Church? |
bigass:Read the article. |

SUGARBEE:Its funny, I missed sugarbee posts even though some were ignorant. I guess you got a job. |
wunmi590:I think it stems from the yoruba way of talking. Many of those words are either yoruba or coined by the yoruba speaking part of the country. |
and our bigoted mods and supermods helps to move this trash to front oage again. sigh. seun take warning |
NgeneUkwenu thanks for making snese of this news. we have been eaten dry by the former government and their cronies. we should also note that oil prices are not up oh. if with oil at $47 we can share 511b because of TSA then we should have been sharing 1trillion+ when oil was $100. God thank you for delivering Nigeria. |
many like them have come and gone and were very popular in their time. Its difficult to say who the most popular cause as one reign ends another begins. |
Dear sundayslim, you are right but I think you've been visiting nairaland too often. change your news source it will change your world view too. Nairaland has been pushing alot of those stories because that's what the majority want to read & it drives more traffic. Personally I don't even bother reading such stories because many of them are crafted by editors of hungry newspapers. Note: don't switch to the sun newspaper. |
Vock:don't mind them. They keep listening to foreign investors who want to get the cheapest deals with Nigeria. |
Activa:My brother because most of them are daft and don't believe things can be produced in Nigeria. very lazy senior generation of people. Things were rosy in their time so they are used to importing things. Just look at all our governora which of them is thinking of building industries? None. They all are building roads, roads that can't sustain themselves, roads that will spoil after 1.5years then become liabilities to the government in trying to maintain it thereby increasing their recurrent expenditure. None of them is thinking how to develop the agro allied industries, textile, minning, even the oil gan they aren't think how to develop it further. Very daft generation of egbons we have. |
Hemanwel:My brother thank you. Oga seun aren't you making enough money to employ a full time mod to handle a tribalistic posts? Ah! you keep encouraging evil because of your own bias and money making desires. You refuse to deal with this tribalistic issue because it generates alot of traffic and interest shey? warning: know that you will answer befor God on the last day wether you believe in him or not |
na wa oh. Every governor giving out hilux trucks since I can remember. shey na only hilux truck our police people need to perform their duties. I don't think so. All these are just liabilities given to the police because 1. they will always deteriorate. 2. can the police &army afford to fuel them consistently?-NO! What I think is best for them is to give them continuous and special training on how to handle particular situations peculiar to Nigerian environment. e.g how to confront armed robbers at a bank, how to handle traffic situations, how to control crowds etc |
Best write up I have seen on getting a job. your points are so valid. am a young man and got a job a month after school without the any advice I followed these steps except one though which I can change going forward. Older people look at me and are marvelled how I work my up so fast. I recommend these steps for any graduate looking for a job but just to add one point. Prepare yourself while in school, graduate with a good grade, do extracurricular activities, accept leadership responsibilities these are things that employers look out for. |
