Kaleydd2000: What do you say or how best can one package d following bank deposits,I mean defending it?: 335k on 23/2/18, 267k on 28/2/18, 110k on 28/2/18, 90k on 12//4/18, 200k on 26/4/18, 220k on 30/4/18, 100k on 10/5/18, 150k on 20/5/18, 50k on 29/5/18, 50k on 6/6/18, all paid in by different people, two people depositing like 2/3 times and with d intention of depositing more to make 1.7M. I own d property we reside in, have another under construction,...I just need an expert guidance, the money isn't ''bad money'' or lodgement like that, i don't want it to be seen as that & be denied for that reason. Thanks in anticipation of ur swift response as usual. All d gurus in house please help a brother. Since you say it is not lodgement, explain what it is, as it is and defend your explanation, in a cover note. The best way to avoid money (such deposits) being seen as lodgement, is to avoid such (irregular) transactions in your account in the first place. All the best. |

TashaStPatrik: Please someone should help me out.. I posted a few days ago but did not get a confirmed response. Okay, am applying for myself and baby. Hubby will be the sponsor, do I need my own bank statement? I do not work at the moment though. Should hubby provide his company bank account or personal account?
For baby’s application: 1) what do I fill in for *how much do you have for this trip? * How much will it cost you for this trip * how much for accommodation and living expenses * how much will your sponsor pay towards your visit..
Does she also need an introduction abi cover letter? Read back. I think this was answered. Unless it was a very similar one, in which case you will already know the answers. The baby does not need an introduction or cover letter. Submit the application as family. |

Teeboy22: Yes oo sister ...now are you doing... Pls ma..how do i easily get to the American embassy from obalende ...interview time is 8am ...are we good if we get to the venue 7am
Thanks You probably can get a Keke Marwa/Napep. One of those going to Eko Hotel or Adeola Odeju. Stop at "Checking Point" bus stop (and cross through the car park) or drop at "Kofo" bus stop, near the junction of Walter Carrington. If it is raining, take an Uber or Taxify, better to avoid arriving wet and disheveled. All the best! |

gentlenoni: Good evening house! I've been following this thread for quite sometime now and it really helped me when I had my 1st F1 visa interview, unfortunately I was not well equipped as I was denied at the Lagos embassy in March 2018. This was my experience ;
VO: Why are you switching from Chemistry to Information systems? Me: In a time like this where ICT is taking over the world, I want to be among those to impact that change in my own country. VO: That does not answer my question. Why are you switching? Me Now having no clue what to say)I've always loved working with computer and I want to study this course just to enhance my skills so as to add to the development of information systems in my country.*stuttering* VO: Sorry at this time I cannot issue you a visa. This paper states the reason why. You can apply again. Thank you! Me: Thank you! If you have interest in IT, there are several Certifications exams you can take, passing which demonstrates that you have a flair/ability, and with which you can start working in that field. Demonstrate that you can compute, and have real possibilities in the IT world, then you will know why you want to make the switch. The VOs are saving you from the frustration of entering a course that, without previous practical experience, you may getting fail grades without knowing the reasons. (My2cents) |

Adeyemiseun24: Hi guys, Pls, I just completed my UK visa application and submitted, but I later discovered an error in the employment history. I converted my monthly expenses( look living costs) and amount giving to family members out of my salary to pounds(£) ,but I forgot to put the pounds symbol in front of the amounts. Though, I filled my monthly salary after tax in Naira.
So,how do I go about getting it corrected or should I leave it like ?f it won't cause any issue I am not sure you can make any changes after your biometrics/submission. You probably can recall/cancel your application, but you lose your visa fee. Perhaps you can just leave things as they are and hope for the best. |

My sister booked a hotel from Airbnb in respect to her husbands Visa application. His appointment is tomorrow and she was just informed that her reservation has been canceled..
Can she booked another hotel to submit at TLS tomorrow? Would it affect his application because she has already written down the address of the accommodation in his application.
Kindly assist me. Thanks. I don't know. You can try make a fresh booking at the same Airbnb. If you choose to make a fresh hotel booking, you can include the info about the change in a cover letter. |

Me:i was so emotional and thanked him for giving me the benefit of doubt.this was my fifth attempt.
I wanted to ask if i could travel alone cos my wife 2 days ago received a letter in the post for her dream job interview and unfortunately it falls in the period we are originally scheduled to travel as a family and this is the only time i will be free to travel cos of my work.im only staying in newyork for 10 days..will it be a problem to travel alone even though i said in my ds 160 im travelling with my wife and children?pls guide me Yes, it will be a problem, and may immediately lead to visa cancellation and deportation at POE. Na you know your history: and US has you on file. You applied for family travel, you should make that family travel even if it means waiting for months until your vacations coincide. Consider a shorter holiday for Christmas or other public holiday + weekend. Or you can all go earlier and come back in time for her interview, or go immediately after her interview. Shorter holiday could also mean less expenses. Take care of your lovely kids. All the best! |

nitrogen: Not an issue really. I had a two passports when I travelled to the UK in March. There were no questions regarding the old one that expired some days ago. I presented both at POE (in Heathrow).
He may decide to present the new one, and keep the other. Are you on a visit visa? Did you present both valid passports at the departure airport in Nigeria? I doubt it, as I have witnessed the razzmatazz of NIS officials a couple of times. Last trip sef, it was the SSS guys that were starting their own issues with passport of the person in front of me.... something that wasn't their business. Then again, nothing may happen, they may overlook or skip, perhaps if they have already had a "happy" day. I have held two unexpired, but cancelled without prejudice passports in the days of 32 pages only (because of valid visas in cancelled ones). Shalom. |

alert20: thanks for the input boss... I knew I should have cancelled the other passport but since it's expiring this month ending and I plan to travel next month I don't think I should have a problem or am I wrong ni boss??
if I am wrong, can I still cancel the passport now?? As long as you don't need to carry both, you should be fine. Other gurus can say whether it can have any implication in the future (eg. submitting both passports for another visa application for other countries; if NIS officer at airport can 'complain' that your visa is dated before the old 'un-cancelled' passport expired; etc.) You can still cancel. At any NIS Passport office. (Previous times I did, it always took less than 5 minutes: only need to identify where the office is, and the officer simply stamps a couple of pages and its done.) |

myport: Thanks for your response the graduating student has his visa already and intending to use the same company account he used for his own visa to apply for this other friend.
Some one mentioned home tie, please home would be appropriate for him to present. The whole trip is just max 5 days the graduation is on 14 July. Going through this thread, reading the letters from various ECOs and the comments, you will see a lot of pointers. Is the sponsored person an adult? If yes, he should be the one reading this thread. Abi na you? If he is a minor, perhaps it is better his parents sponsor him. Actually, that 14 of July is pretty close. The TLS/UKVI/ECO needs only 'experience' a slight delay, and the reason for the trip is gone. Especially since the summer rush as begun. (You can browse to this time last year to see how fast visa applications were handled.) Perhaps the sponsor can sponsor his friend for an 'after party' in another country with less stringent visa conditions. |

I have another passport expiring this month, and it has only west Africa stamps Ghana twice and Togo twice respectively... Keep in mind that you shouldn't have two valid passports, the expiring one should have been "cancelled without prejudice" (stamped on it) at the Immigration office when you collected the new one. Don't try to travel with both; avoid stories that touch. |

Enybaby2018: Hello house. First time here hehehe...
Straight to the point. Im a single mother and planning a trip to UK with my daughter. My travel histroy include: UK (twice), Dubai (several times) and USA with my daughter a few times.
I work and earning averagely.(salary not consistent because of allowances). I have a UK host ready to invite and accomodate us.
Can anyone advise what documents to submit since circumstances has changed from my first application? and also do i need a consent letter from her dad?
documents submitted for first application includes: Employment histroy, letter from UK host (not same as the one inviting us now),salary bank SOA( with over a million),payslips, coop acct SOA(some money was transffered from my coop acct to my salary acct), landed property, company brochure, cover letter explaning my application & source of money etc, shares cert.,pictures from previous vacations.
Can someone please advice on what document to include now that my daughter is joining me?
Edakun o! May I suggest you read back? Similar questions have come up in the past. I think it is good that, unless you have proof of sole custody, in support of a letter of consent from her dad, you should include copy of his valid ID and your daughter's birth certificate. |

interswitch: Hello house, Kindly help out. I just scheduled my appointment today though i've not submitted my ds160 form. I'm planning to go to New York City by September for vacation. Ques: Is NewYork a good place to visit by september. Any better option to recommend? (1) There's a place for travel plans/itenary. Is it a good idea to fill it with my plans and routes? (2) Can i make an hotel reservation so i can fill in their address or i can just use their address for now (3)
Kindly help a brother. Thanks 1. It depends on what you like and how you want to spend your vacation. Google is your friend, and there loads of tourist/holiday destination review websites. 2. Depends on what plans you make. IMO, it is good you make your plans known. It might save time at the interview, especially if it makes sense. 3. If you make travels plans, you need to put the address. If you use the hotel as your USA contact, you better have a reservation with them. |

Neot77: gd afternoon all, my intended date to travel is August and there's no more date for interview before the said date and I've already submitted my application. What can I do pls? Study the thread. Several instances similar to yours appear. What you can do depends on what you are travelling for. If it is for a conference, travel date is fixed. You can keep checking for an earlier interview date (and use up your one free date change) or you can see whether you can switch to future conference (and edit/re-submit your form accordingly). If it is for holidays, depends on what you do, where you work, travel history, how you can explain whether visa is still relevant beyond the August date in your form (if you don't swap to an updated form)... |

Thank you so much. I will assume you are not a LNY, so I can tell you that your questions have been answered on this thread a couple of times. Best to read through and pick up the bits useful to you. You need to be clear about who is sponsoring your trip; is this your first sponsored holiday? Are you an adult or a minor? etc. When you have read the thread and still have questions, you can seek further clarifications here. Please rep Unilag well o! |

Bisolanio: Pls help ds160 page won't load on my PC, must I do hotel reservations before filling my form, will I need to fill the address in? Find a PC or browser that can load DS160. Without it, you can't apply. You may not need to do the hotel reservations, but you need to know the hotel address. If you have already made travel arrangements, the way to make sure the hotel will keep rooms for you, is to make a reservation. Bisolanio: Can I change that on getting there or before I leave ? If you change, be ready to offer a good explanation at the POE. But wait, it seems you are asking us whether it is okay to lie on the form? The answer is no. You can fill your intended hotel (where you plan to stay) in the form. The hotel you fill in the Form/Interview, needs to make sense with your planned itinerary. When you fill address in/for the Landing Card/POE: it needs to be valid (CBP can call to confirm you are expected). and it should make sense with your itinerary. Bisolanio: Lastly pls put me through the. Process of securing an appointment after completing my ds160 form. Thank you. This is a DIY thread. You can start by reading the steps as described in page one of this thread, or of the first two parts. Bisolanio: BTW can I still get a date in August? Yes. But you can only get dates by trying. |

Mumyjand: Hello everyone good day please can I submit my business account statement for tourists visa application and I do receive lump some of money in the account from business transactions from my buyers hope I won’t have issue with it please it really urgent It depends on why you want to submit a business account. If it is a business trip, it should be fine. In addition to the printed statement, it is good you get a reference letter from the bank that shows you are the sole signatory to the bank account. If you are not the sole signatory, you may want to support your application with a Board Resolution, showing that you can use the funds for the intended trip. If you want to use it only to show how your business is doing, then, include proof that the business is yours (CAC documents). |

1. To whom will the letter from my company be addressed? 2. Do I need booking confirmation from a hotel? 3. I use prepaid meter since January, will the previous bills be ok? 4. Once applied for USA visa 3 years back, denied without reason, is it necessary to disclose this in the application form? 1. I usually use: British Deputy High Commission, Walter Carrington Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos. (I think any reasonable addressee will do: what matters more is the content.) 2. If you will stay in an hotel, you should include booking confirmation. 3. (I don't know: if you include it, you may include information that you now use prepaid meter and maybe add receipts of units purchases). 4. If you are asked in the form, fill it truthfully. |

If he misrepresented (agent or no agent: any lies are his) the last time, he should come clean. (Read back through the thread for various experiences.) 2. The truth does not change, but the circumstances can change. Let him fill the new form himself and with truthful information. 3. Ditto. 4. Ditto. ("Relative" is well defined.) All the best |
