They are not based in Lagos.

I collected for my parents last year. So, it's yes, unless things have changed. Only I am not sure if there was a place in submission slep to indicate who will collect.
Also, I saw one family member collect for the whole family several times: when waiting on the queue for my turn.

Really, really, the best answer is the truth. You must have your reasons. Those ones make the best answer. Make sure they make sense to you first, then you will find it easier to relate them at your visa interview and the POE, if asked.

You can try wikipedia: Visa requirements for Nigerian, there's info there on every country and their visa requirements for people with Nigerian passports. There are many different options, difficult to prescribe as you will know what you prefer (e.g. Dubai for sight seeing and shopping, Seychelles for nature, beauty and peace, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Japan, Brazil, Singapore, etc) Some grant visa (free or paid) on arrival and others are easy to get, still others have clear requirements which once met objectively they will grant you their visa. ECOWAS countries are also visa free, but those ones, unless you have a tour operator or a friend in the destination country, I wouldn't really recommend them for vacation, unless you like adventure.

Chibabe, What's the reason for your trip and past visa applications?
Also, if you are scared to apply, and want to avoid the risk of denial, better to travel countries that have less stringent visa conditions. If have traveled to a few of those other countries in the recent past, then: pray, have faith and work on the requirements for this visa application.

I think your cousin will need to send some proof that s/he can accommodate you in his/her house: letter of invitation, evidence of permission to stay in the UK, utility bill, council tax, and any other documents that you think will be helpful: in addition to the normal UKVI requirements for visitor visas.

It's a tough call for a first timer with no travel history, especially if you are young (like below 65). Take your time to study this thread and you will see. You will need to demonstrate to the VO that you will come back soon to your family, that your job is a very secure one that you will not abandon at will (travel history would have helped to show this, especially if you had financed a trip: you + your wife previously).

Go through the thread, assess your situation very well; pray; and decide whether to give it a go, or save your money and make a cheaper vacation that can also count as travel history in future.

@KaptainAfrika has advised you. Hope you managed to correct what the "@agent don kill me" did to your DS160? And that you got the hotel that is not 24 hours drive away. Sometimes, inconsistencies in the DS160 could be the cause of a denial.
Sir, take a break from the US, visit other countries, establish yourself as someone that takes vacation every one or two years; the Strategic Air Command will be yours to see in a few years.

Bros, I like your faith. I suppose you have already paid visa fees, so no harm attending interview.
If going ahead, make sure your Dubai visa is legit (I have heard of banks not accepting them for PTA, and I have seen airline staff debate on whether it's genuine or not). Also, since your trad arrangement is fixed and committed, better to go with hotel and hall payment receipts, not reservation which can be cancelled. If you will come back to Nigeria before honeymoon, go with your Lagos-Dubai-Lagos tickets also.

Going to Dubai for Trad and returning before interview may better help your situation (at least, you will have genuine travel history). However, all in all, I am inclined to opine that you settle for a less towering hurdle: many countries provide top honey moon destination. Close to Dubai, you can try Seychelles (it's visa free on arrival for Nigerians) or Kenya (visa on arrival for Nigerians and if you use Kenyan Airways, you may even find that routing your Dubai flight through Nairobi may be cheaper than Emirates direct flights).

We wanted to spend christmas and another refusal will be so devastating. We are both below 30 ......

If I were in your shoes, I will give the US some more time and build more ties. For now, I would look for other places to have a vacation. (As per avoiding the possibility of "devastating".
We will just peacefully visit Seychelles, Singapore, Rio or elsewhere depending on our likes and the weather forecast. #MyOpinionOnly

Probably your best bet. Additional information: no birth records for my parents, dates are only approximate based on oral tradition.... bla, bla, bla.. By the way, do you parents have international passport or other similar identification documents? You can find a reasonable DOB for them that the entire family sticks to. Ciao

Medical tourism, yes. But you must have strong reasons for choosing US over other countries with good health care systems. Of course, after medical treatment, you will need some time to recuperate and perhaps have follow-up consultations.
Medical + Vacation looks odd to me; vacation is fun, medical is some illness. No, they don't add up. ~My opinion only.

I suppose that by thriving business @cosade means something like owning a Microfinance Bank, Jumia or Shoprite or the likes.
Before applying, I will encourage you to read the pages of this thread from earlier this year, and self-assess. Assets can be sold off, a thriving business if it qualifies as a tie, remains only one tie.
My opinion: considering that you have family that are ties to the US, you need more than assets and business to demonstrate ties to Nigeria. You probably have those ties, but study your situation very well.

Since 10 months old may be too young to leave for a few weeks, wait till next year. If you have the cash for a trip now, visit Kenya or Dubai with your baby.
The US do take identity seriously. They issued visa to one name, another name is arriving at POE: prepare proving that you are one and the same person. You might want to seek clarifications about this from the gurus, and/or read/ask the VO thread about your circumstances.

Bunmi284 has an old expired passport in her maiden name and an old valid US visa in her maiden name. Now, she has a new passport in her husband's surname. Does she need to reapply for a new US visa in her name? (I suppose the biometrics in each passport and on record can be used to recognize her, in spite of the name change: but it would be interesting to know if this is acceptable for the airline and the POE.) Does she need to travel will all evidence of change of name?

If she needs to, and does renew her visa into her new surname, I would suppose applying for a visa for her baby will be straightforward.

@bunmi284. There is also thought of "using the visa for the first time for the purpose for which it was issued". I suppose your visa was for issued for visiting, not birthing: so it is still valid for visiting. Changes in travel plans can be explained: the reasons are obvious from your first post. The only thing is getting a visa for your baby. My only suggestion is that you should consider making a trip before August 2018, though I have read here on NL that "not using a visa at all" does not lead to denial at renewing the visa. If you have gone and comeback in a timely manner, it may "help" the option of going with your baby in the future.

As someone said, the issue at hand seems to be convincing the VO that the child, is your child.

The gurus will reply, hopefully. Today is Sunday, take your time to read through this thread and you will find similar or worse scenarios and the solutions suggested. Keep in mind that the gurus (as well as consulate officials) would likely have read your previous posts; integrity and honesty are paramount in securing a USA visa.
Once you state and abide by the truth, your interview would be smooth. However, you need to do more research about your travel plans: the US does not want 'stranded Nigerians' which can happen if you don't know what international travel to your destination entails.

Nothing like one way tickets for visiting visas, nothing like visiting one museum so far away from hotel, or liking one hotel so much....: the destination and purpose need to be clear. The internet is a useful tool; you even have street-view. If your job-finances and other ties and not tight, better to shelf the interview till you sort out ties to Nigeria: your visa fee is valid for one year but you can reschedule only once.

The success of your application can depend on your ties, your stating the truth and the purpose of your trip, and proper preparation starting with filling the DS160 intelligently.

My opinion: do not rush your interview; straighten out your application/DS160 first (to ensure that the VO does not end up recommending google maps street-view while tarnishing your records with the US files).

If I am to guess, it is sounding like something in your answers did not tally with what is in your visa application form, or your form itself is not consistent and your answer did not clear up any doubts the VO might have as to the genuineness of your trip. Sorry o.

No, it is not mandatory. But depending on the purpose of your visit to the US, it is useful to demonstrate that you usually return to Nigeria after trips abroad.

Follow the same process as you used to get your current/past visa. (Or check page 1 of this thread for the links for starting a visa application process).
As you commence, you will be asked basic questions like is this your first visa, how old are you etc. Depending on your answers, you may be presented the option to apply via dropbox. It's really simple step by step.

If you use google, just be very cautious that it is legit and that it relates to your field. By the way, why do you want to go for the conference? Why spend so much on the trip? Are there no conferences in other places? Of what benefit is the conference to you? .. to your company? These are the kind extra questions if you answer first, it will help you in your decision/choice of conference to attend.

Applying always carries the risk of denial; and it could be due no intentional fault of yours.
A good approach for you, to avoid denial due to fault on your part, is to study this thread from page 1. You will get all the tips you need, be able to assess your ties and circumstances, and build your confidence to tell the truth clearly and defend it at your interview. Wish you all the best.

The UK visit visa is for 6 months with multiple entries that allows one to stay for the entire 6 months assuming you entered the UK on the day the visa was issued . Same thing for either its a 2 years, 5 years or 10 years visit visa. You are only permitted by law to stay for up to 180 days per visit. However, depending on your intention and purpose of visit to the UK, exhausting the number of days allowable (ie 180 per visit), can actually lead to refusal of subsequent visit visa in the future. The question is why do you want remain in the UK for up to 180 days, when your visit is not medically related, where you can neither work or earn an income? Certainly, the ECO will question you motive when you want to renew such a visa.

Just to add that my experience is that the 180 days is cumulative in one calendar year, not per visit. Exceed it, and risk a refusal when you want to renew. The ECO will not only question how you survived in UK on a visit visa (no work, no income), but also how you managed to keep your job/source of income/ties in Naija. Even after making 3/4 weeks visits for many, many years, if you ever exceed the 180 days in one calendar year, there will be issues o. For medicals, there are other visa categories (so was the ECO's position).

Yes, your info will remain on their database, like forever. Consistency is key. Reasonable changes can be explained reasonably.

Since the Yoruba Culture congress would be in the past, you will not be going for it. That is one change. If your next visa application will be for vacation, you can keep in mind that there are over 100 other countries you can visit for vacation (taking your family along for a vacation <in other countries> could also be a good experience + change).

Face and finish your studies, then get a good honest job. These are some changes that will are reflect in your application.
(Hope the information in your previous applications do not contain a misrepresentation? If yes, consider forgetting about travel to the US for a long while, maybe visit other countries [that is another change, BTW].)
