Na so ignored all the -ve news surrounding Oando. watched it get to #30+ then down to its present price. I should have exited when Pa Emma did. I never knew i was dinning with devils so I turned up with the wrong size cutleries.
No more romance with stocks, in the past I would have ignored such moves by HW all in the name of long-term. Thank goodness for the new disclosure climate prevailing in NSE. I would only ask that they make such disclosures more timely. Over here, such dealing would be disclosed same day. Good steps forward nonetheless.

Access Bank lost over 6% today, I think this is the beginning.

Might lose 20% by the end of week.
offloaded at an average of #10.5. Wishing a very good retracement in UACN

I have just depressed the share price of ACCESS (Sold)

Took a small hit. The hit came from DB portion of the consolidation with ACESSS. The Access bank portion returned near 90% profit.

I hate to hold cash, so I'll seek to increase my UACN holdings. This move may prove to be a masterstroke! UACN is expected to return at least 70% from here. Could ACCESS have done 70% from here?

Time will tell - i get am plenty

The same guy issued a statement to investing community on NSE that they are not buying diamond Bank. Whereas they were mopping on the floor.

Later they issued another statement that they have bought Diamond bank. grin
Come one, you know better than that!
He couldn't have confirmed the purchase of DB when the final details of the deal had not been ironed out.
Moreover, regulators (SEC, NSE) must be notified and their their approval received before releasing the information to the public.

My friend, Jejebaba, had to connect the dots to me yesterday. Then I knew that people had bought monkey!

Thank God I issued a sell on stocks.

The next question is , where are the other volumes in other Banks coming from? Why are FPI selling?

If you buy with Naira and they buy with dollar, they have 360 times your buying power! grin
Your call was more of a technical call than fundamental one.

HW selling his shares raises a fundamental and not a technical question.

It's good to look at things from as much perspectives as possible.

So my question is Before the PFAs and other institutions bought into Access shares few weeks ago, don't you think they must have done their due diligence before investing?

I don't think we should throw the baby and the water together.
Maybe they should have asked HW if he planned to offload? grin

Few weeks before Oando declared the record loss after tax of N220 billion about 3 years ago, billions of Naira equally entered the stock.

Wale sold some of his shares before the result was made public, thank God for the closed period introduced by NSE and better disclosure compared to what was obtainable in the past
That must be the only reason they postponed the closed period (to offload).
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by bigjay01(m): 6:28pm On Jan 20, 2020
nna777:
Are you sure this is the right call?

The funds that have entered Access alone in 1 week is in excess of 2 Billion oo. Don't you think that's a pointer to something.
Would those funds still have entered if they knew that the oga at the top was offloading 83m+ shares? (?more sell disclosures coming)

I will advise guys to sell there Access Bank shares, I sold half of my holdings last week. I will sell half of the remaining tomorrow.

The effects of Diamond Bank acquisition is affecting Access Bank. The closed period and board meeting was extended because they might be having issues with the auditors.

The timing of the sale by insiders is wrong
better safe than sorry

According to Peter Lynch (One up on wall street), management selling shares in companies they manage is a RED FLAG!

Tomorrow, I will sell all but 5k shares.

In a saner clime, that move in Diamond Bank should have earned him a sack from the Board. But this is Nigeria and anything goes.

I can't claim to be sure as it remains an unending speculation.
With Herbert, everything is possible.
Funny thing is we are unlikely to know when he buys them all back and even more than he sold.
is it this bad?

On transnational bank website, it clearly states that their parent is Access Bank group

I am a newbie o, just read small. I didn't even add the broker's fees about 2.5% for a close cycle of buy and sell.
U go come lose 10% of the dividend in the name of tax.
Selling before markdown makes a lotta sense. However, we have seen a lot of times when the stock gains str8 away the next day after markdown.

Very important to have a very good risk management system in this stock business.

Because of what my mentor told me, I never made the mistake of putting a Kobo in any of poor offerings the guy marketed. But I enjoyed his yarns on radio, television and the articles in his newspaper
