As an indigene of Oyigbo LGA, I can tell you that we are not happy about the crisis currently rocking our community, affecting businesses, movements of people, goods and other means of livelihood. I think the Nigerian army are making a very big mistake by asking us to provide the IPOB guys who killed their colleagues. If they know who killed their colleagues, why not trace them and fish them out from their hideouts, instead of disturbing the peace of the community? Innocent people are being murdered daily for what they know nothing about. Governor Wike himself has always been a man who prefers to make so much noise over serious issues just to maintain his popularity in the media, rather than confronting them tactically. I want to state clearly that in as much as we condemn any act of violence and destruction of government facilities in our communities, it has never been our obligation or duty to guide and watch over police stations or to protect soldiers deployed to our communities.
