Do u have shock absorber for Mazda 3... preferably KYB |
lungwun:I am speaking from experience bro.. I drive a mazda 3 2007 and know how difficult it can be to get something a simple as a shock absorber.. or even swaybar end links.. I remember searching the whole of apo for my rear light when it got broken.. I was charged for 15k for fairly used.. only for it to turn out to be of the wrong car.. I had to order for one in lagos.. rear freaking light?? I had to resolve to ordering needed parts from amazon and ship them to Nigeria.. imagine the cost and wait time... Till date am yet to find a Mazda MV compatible Auto Transmission ATF in the market that would also be put on order.. I don't regret having this car. the style and handling put Corolla, Camry, Civic and Accord to the dust.. Yet I often have to pay the price of non availability of parts... a costly price for that. |
Nigeria the first thing you should consider before getting any car is ease of maintenance.. ease here is not about money.. its about parts availability. What use is a car when ordinary air filter would take u weeks (mostly after putting it on order) because you searched the length and breath of Gudu and Apo and could not find an airfilter for your car.. try and get a car which can be easily maintained in Nigeria.. which has readily available parts. |
Change your engine mount. (aka engine seat by nigerian mechanics) |
oluamid:I think we need to separate "warrior" from fighter.. on hand to hand some of the above mentioned names definitely merit the mention. for me though the greatest living warriors in westeros are Stannis Baratheon (The greatest of them all) Randyl Tarly and Jason Mallister. Let me start from the Least to the greatest. Jason Mallister. lord of sea guard.. We was said to have fought bravely at the Battle of the Trident, avenging his brother Jeffory Mallister by slaying three of Rhaegar's bannermen. He was one of the primary reason why the Greyjoy rebellion failed by slaying Rodirk Greyjoy one of Balon's sons (in single combat) and leading the surge that drove the Iron islanders back to the sea.. The failure of the assault on seaguard was a major setback for the rebellion as it prevented the Iron men from gaining any foothold in the riverland and deprived Balon of an heir. He also saw action in the battle for whisperingpool. Randyl Tarlly If Tywin ever had a brother from another mother it would be Randyl Tarly (the father of Sam Tarly) He leds the Tyrell Vangaurd and was the only man to have inflicted a defeat on Robert Baratheon forces at the battle of ashford. He also led the capture of Bitterbridge. In the battle of back water bay.. he commanded the center against Stannis at the battle of Blackwater receiving a commandation. In the battle of 5 kings Tarly destroys a northern force attacking the town of duskendale capturing Harrion Karstark and Robett Glover before going on to take Maidenpool.. He is one man who is under stated in the book and the show (where he is non existent) Stannis Barratheon But by far the greatest warrior in westeros today is non other than Stannis the manis.. Stannis Showed discipline required of a battle commander by holding stormend (at the command of his elder brother) for about a year resorting to feeding on rats rather than yielding the castle. Holding the Tyrell ensured that one of the largest loyalist forces did not take the field against the rebels. Charged with the task of taken Dragonstone and capturing Viserys and Daenerys Targaryen he raised a new fleet and led the assault on dragonston (though Viserys and Daenerys Targaryen had already been smuggled out) During the greyjoy rebellion Stannis it was again who was called upon to lead the main assault against the Iron fleet. With the Lannister fleet all destroyed at anchor in lannisport. The Iron men had complete domination of the sunset sea. Any assault on the Iron Island would fail unless this situation is rectified. By tricking the Iron fleet (under the command of Balon's brother Victarion) Stannis led the royal fleet and trapped and destroyed much of the Iron Fleet at Fair Isle. This victory allowed gave way to Robert main assault on the island. allowing free flow of men and materials from westeros to iron island. Stannis then went on to subdue great wyk (the largest of all the islands that make up Iron Island) Although resoundingly defeated at the battle of blackwater bay. (It should be noted that the main blame lays with the commander of the stannis fleet who rather than apply caution sent all the ships into blackwater sending many men to their death) His tactic was quite sound (positioning scouts and outriders on his flanks- all of whom were neutralized by Tyrion's wildlings)... After the battle of blackwater. Stannis showed he was down but not broken.. he was the only "King" to respond to the distress call of the night watch helping to decimate Mance Rayder army with a beautifully executed pincer movement. Taking Mance army from the flanks in a 3 piece Pincer movement that should be thought in school of military doctrine. Stannis is not done. He travels to deepwood motte leading a band of north men to remove the ironborn who held it and returning it to house glover.. while taking Asha Greyjoy captive. Stannis for me is currently the greatest commander in westeros. He has the discipline, the will power, tactics, experience and skill. He is also skilled in both land and sea.. |
domack99:Another thing which won't hurt is to clean your MAF.. a dirty MAF can result to excessive fuel consumption without triggering any code.. Please do not attempt to clean your MAF with Carburetor as this would damage the MAF instead get a dedicated MAF cleanning spray (CRC MAF CLEANER) unfortunately you can get one off the shelve here in Nigeria. The one I used for my car, I got it from a friend in abuja.. idaraa (or something like that met him on NL) you can also use Spirit. |
hkwills:Its a 2.3L Engine that came with the Mazda 3 SP23 (2006).. I should point out the above MPG was gotten doing mostly high way driving at grandma speed (75-85km/h) city driving will give me a considerably lesser mpg with about 23 or even 22 |
first would like to add that most car computer generated mpg are not accurate.. the best way to calculate your mpg is to do so manually i.e reset your trip meter during fillup.. fill your tank, then drive.. when your guage is in half tank or u are about to do your next fill up note the amount of liters it takes to fill up (usually you have to convert the liters to gallons - lots of smart phone app can do that) then divide the amount of miles covered by your trip meter with the number of gallons it takes to fill the car. example I reset my trip meter to 0 fill my tank and drove off.. in my next fill up.. (the fuel gauge is at the mid way point) I have covered 220 Miles.. and 23 liters was used to refill the tank 23 liters = 6.0759572 so to get my mpg i do 22/6.0759572 = 36.666666667.. so my mpg is approximately 37. Please note that where you get your fuel is very important. due to the sharp practices of most of our filling stations, I have chosen to only get fuel from a particular filling station (from a particular tank) I was getting really bad mpg before releasing that I was inputting the wrong data thanks to gas stations sharp practices. Also note that city driving differs.. being stuck in a driglock for hours should not be compared to general stop and drive traffic.. or general non traffic drive around town (which is still city driving) Easy things I would advise your try out: Clean your air filter, inspect your spark plugs and change if it doesn't look healthy (you would know), inspect the state of your gear oil.. also inspect your break calipers to see if it is bonding (one easy way to do this is to put the car on neutral (from a stationary position)on a slightly slipper ground and see if it moves.. you could have your mechanic inspect it too. Also driving habits helps alot.. I was able to improve my mpg from 21 to 27 when I slowed down on the lead foot.. I generally resulted to cruising at around 75-80km/h even when am on the free way.. this allows me drive without applying breaking unnecessarily while resorting to smart switching of lanes.. yes this makes me drive like a grand mother, but also good for my pocket.. I am currently doing 512KM (318 miles) on a 55 liter capacity car and am at 3/4 of my tank all thanks to change in driving habit. |

Here is a patch for those running obsolete (or EOL ) version of ubuntu servers mkdir src Others should simply update their servers |
If its not too expensive you would put the price.. in any case.. few people get time to call when they is no indication of price |
price?.. when u don't display price .. it gives the indication that the car is too expensive hence the secrecy.. Put the price here no one likes a wasted call |
The same scene repeated itself in Sierra Leone where the Nigerian troops showed their tenacity and ruggedness in the face of poor kit, corruption among the officer ranks.. and fighting a a foreign land against a rebel group whose support went from Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Libya to Ukraine.. Yet our boys held their own.. After the intelligence blunder that lead to the January 6th 1998 free town invasion which saw over 30,000 rampaging rebels descend on freetown (hiding behind refugees and routing the 72 mechanized brigade) breaking the iron circle around freetown and pinning our forces to Lungi airport.. It had to take the courage of officers like Brig Gen Maxwell Khobe who choose death before dishonor and lunched the famous operation death before dishonor.. with the sole objective of reverting the rebel offensive and pushing the rebels out of freetown. the freetown offensive saw one of the most massive deployment of Nigerian forces ever witnessed.. a massive over 9000 troops and materials were deployed from the 82nd airborne division Makurdi in less than 9 days.. Gen Maxwell Khobe was an leader who lead from the front. a man who usually and constantly checks the positions of his men to ensure they are were they were suppose to be. In one of the operation that lead to clearing of rebels from freetown he was said to have armed with a walking talkie walked "cool as a cucumba" towards the smoke filled battle field saying gentlemen lets go" Khobe died of injuries he sustained from shrapnels in the frontline .. even when injured he refused to leave sierra leone to recieve treatment until peace was restored. He was made chief of army staff of that country and even today major roads in freetown are named after him. With this battle on BH right in our backyard I often ask myself why our boys seem to have lost the tenacity they have shown from Liberia to Mogadisho and even as far afield as Kosovo.. what changed.. what has happened? Yes corruption but what has always been the case... it has even gotten better over the years as troop welfare seem to have improved from the deplorable state in Liberia and S/L where troops went to battle without even the most basic protection (lack of bullet proof vest) and salaries were rarely paid.. wounded soldiers were left to rot (so much that Jimmy Carter had to pay for their medical bills) despite all these, Nigerian troops fought with spirit in foreign lands.. they fought without air support, without bullet proof vest.. fought on hungry stomach defending the right of foreigners yet are unable to repeat same feet here at home. My conclusion is the weakening of the official class especially the retirement of over 400 of them by OBJ administration in other to make the army coup proof. Most of the retired officers are some of the best this countries has produced.. and no military can survive such unscratched .. Most of the officer class we have now have little battle experience which is exposed by BH.. This is one thing we may never know |
4Play: The way Nigerians talk about Liberia and Sierra Leone, you will think they achieved their military objectives. That is not so true.. the problem we have is lack of records and the absurd secrecy of the Nigerian armed forces which means we would never get to see the sacrifices and success of our forces in foreign mission. Take Liberia: After the debacle that lead to the capture and murder of Samuel Doe by prince Yomi Johnson from the Ecomog force HQ.. Nigeria finally got the message and decided to take charge. It would be the last time we would see a non Nigeria as ecomog force commander. Gen Dogonyaro (AKA Gen Rambo) was brought in to bring in some bite to the already demoralized ecomog.. He came in and went on the offensive immediately launching operation liberty (on Nigeria's independent day 1990) the objective of which was to clear out Taylor and NPFL forces out of monrovia.. within 3 weeks this objective was realized. .NPFL was expelled from Monrovia, a buffer zone was secured, Spriggs Payne Airport was captured from Taylor which stem the flow of arms import, the port of buchanan was blockaded.. a shell shocked taylor accepted a cease-fire in November 1990. When NPFL men tried attacking AFL Barclay training camp in monrovia, no less than 60 of them were killed by a crack Nigeria-Ghanian squad. NPFL home was bombed and some 500 prince yomi johnson men were disarmed. Charles Taylor NPFL forces were cleared from Monrovia and for 2 years Monrovia saw peace.. electricity was restored, live returned to normal.. Dongoyaro's no nonsense approach (which he termed Positive neutrality & limited offensive) pinned down Charles taylor to the outskirts of Liberia and would have resulted to a quick end to the war.. however Jealousy, and fear (Dongoyaro's success was not well taken back well at home with fear that the war was making him too powerful for a coup paranoid IBB this was not good) Dogonyaro asked for more men to complete the job in Liberia and secure a country wide cease fire. But lagos denied this request. fear for casualties and his growing popularity.. even though the needed men Gen Dogonyaro requested for was eventually granted. He was replaced as ecomog field commander he would later say " The whole thing could have finished a long time ago but political consideration are naturally superior to military decisions." Dogonyaro was replaced as field commander though his period was fondly remembered by liberians and ecomog soldiers as the golden age that ushered in a 2 year resign of peace in the capital. Rufus Kupolati his replacement choose a different policy choosing negotiation and working with Taylor to achieve peace hence rolling back the gains of dogongoyao. Mixed of geo politics and lack of political will allowed the war to drag on for years.. yet in the end Nigeria ensured that Liberia saw peace. compared to other western interventions like Libya and Iraq one can call Liberia a success story. |
bigwallace: Keshi has done his best,he has nothing left to offer,he has given it all nd cnt do anybetter than this, keshi cnt beat any tactically sound team @ d world stage, yes he defeated bosnia bt i made bold to say dat it was mere luck, bocs dzeko's goal wud av stood nd osaze's goal wud av bin disallowed,He is tactically deficient @ d world stage it was clear for evribody to see from d confed cup to d world cup itself shows alot abt his tactical ineptudness,nd his selections of players to this world cup was nothin to write home about, der re players in dat squad dt shud neva go near out training camp again even if wwe want to play sao tome nd principle.A Tactically deficient man that qualified 2 African nations to the world cup.. and won the nations cup (against even more "tactically sound" coaches) Before the Bosnian game people were on about how Bosnia were going to destroy Nigeria on the hand of how well they played against Argentina. Keshi out maneuvered them we called it luck.. Even though we completely dominated the game from mid field and had much better shot at goal.. still it was luck.. even when Keshi moved Emineke to the right and played a false 9 (a move that led to the goal and would have resulted to more goals had musa been more clinical) yet Keshi is not tactical enough.. I think clearly the only tactical mistake here is you having a brain in that skull of yours.. because frankly.. that brain has is a waste. |
Most of the people commenting here are daft lack ability to think critically. If there are 21 parallel universes in non of them is Keshi a bad coach/tactician.. in non of them is he also perfect.. Records don't lie and facts speaks for themselves.. right now there are few coaches in Africa (white or black, African or European) who can boast the records Keshi has.. qualified 2 African teams to the world cup, 2nd coach to win the nation cup as a player and coach, first african to qualify a team to the second round.. won our first nation cup in 19 years (something we couldn't even win in our backyard in Lagos) ... A prophet is indeed never respected in his home. Those throwing insult on Keshi should ask themselves one question. What have *you* done with your life? If success is that easy to come by such much so that a man bad at what he does can come by such much success.. then surely you to would have excelled and probably is a world beater at what you do.. Truth is u are at best some dude just getting by or probably a loser who would only dream to achieve 1% of what the man u slander has achieved in life. Keshi is a hero.. even before he coached the eagles.. He is a Nigerian hero but we just have a knack for slanting our heros.. treating them like shit.. Maradona, Gaza, Zidane are all idolized in their nation yet we talk about our own hero with scorn. Let me address this whole 94 eagles issues that seem to be coming up.. The 94 eagles is the best set of players we ever had in this country period. That they failed to achieve more than 2nd round in USA 94 is underachievement in my book. The squad was our golden generation and was complete.. When u have a team that saw the likes of Victor Ikpeba (at his pick in monaco) Jay Jay Okocha (Already a sensation in Germany) Evan Ekoku ( One of the most lethal Strikers in England) being bench warmers.. then u know u have a cup winning squard.. The 94 squad was tight in all department.. yet they failed to get past the 2nd round.. On the issue of the 94 squad again, those who have any sense of history would remember that the 94 squad didn't just happen.. It was a product of 5 years building a team from scratch after our failure to qualify for Italian 90.. He then built a team from a bunch of raw talents led by Amokachi, Yekini, Siasia to the nation cup in Algeria where they took 2nd after starting the tournament with a 5-1 lose to Algeria.. It took westerof 2 tries before he eventually became 3rd time lucky and won the nations cup.. What Keshi has done is to adopt the westerof formula and he too has been successful. This man was able to raise a team for Nigeria after the lowest ebb in our soccer history (when we failed to qualify for the nation's cup in 2012) I was at the stadium when we drew Guinea (when we needed a win) Siasia could not secure a win in Abuja yet people are hailing him as a better coach than Keshi.. (may god judge u harshly) My hope is that this man is allowed to continue is work.. I am sure he has learned from his first world cup experience.. he should be allowed to continue.. heck even ghana a giving their coaches an extension. |
The made in Nigeria PROFORCE PF2 Mk.II Armoured Patrol Vehicle is the alter ego of the Otokar Akrep. Has we can see the forward facing turret is for anything between a 12.7 mm HMG (Heavy Machine Gun) and a 23mm Cannon.. the two rear pintles can take a GPMG ( General Purpose Machine Gun). This is really good development and Proforce really should be commended. If we add their effort to that of DICON which has been able to produce their own APC and now makes bullet proof vest, night vision goggles and balistic helmet. The commissioning of NNS Adoni seaworth defence boat, the drone project work by NAF in conjunction with Innoson motors.. I think all this spell good for the home grown defense industry. One can only hope that this efforts are sustained and improved on. Maybe one day we can start to look into exporting Defense oriented materials to other west african, african and even the world. Proforce effort really should be commended not put down.
|
Posts like this makes me so sad .. the biggest problem in Nigeria is ignorance. I just knew that the cynicism is cool brigade would flood this thread spreading their ignorance and dumbness. Proforce is a Nigerian company employing Nigerians and trying to increase our capacity in the security and defense industry. Already they have been working wirh Dicon and producing Ballistic Helmet, Bullet Proof Vest etc for our forces.. They have also upgraded to making Armed Personal Carriers which has proven to be very effective especially in Coin (Counter Insurgency) Operations. In most first world countries, defence innovation is paid for by the Defence ministry to provide capabilities for the present and future. However no kobo was received from our MOD on the Leopard ACV Block 1 development as it should be the case with first world militaries. Here what we do is slander our own even though many of those who speak her do not even know what APC, MRAP, means They have no freaking clue than to type the non-sense emanating from their moronic brains. And yes the suspension has been changed(reinforced) to handle the weight. have been shot at, had explosive material detonated underneath them and driven over test courses with deep and loose sands to simulate desert conditions. They have been comprehensively tested. The finishing should give an idea of just how thorough their work and quality assurance has been. A sane people would be happy that such an innovation is coming from their community. Rather what we have are people who can not even produce a pin or even have a clue with APC is all about yarning BS

It's also depends.. It has been noted that on highways it's might be better to windup and turn on the AC in other to avoid air drags coming from the Window which can also affect your mpg in some cases even more than if u had your AC on and windows up. For the sake of aerodynamics it's sometimes better to wind up and turn on the AC.. But in normal city driving might be better to just wind down.. Also as noted the size of your engine also plays a big role. |
tzetzefly: Are you sure you are to appear at the Embassy and not VFS ?Yes. |
tzetzefly: The fee will be the same as the France Consulate General in Lagos....Thanks. According to this page http://www.france-ng.com/Lagos/business_visafees.html the visa fee is 12930 with about 5000 paid as service charge fees. Since am not going through VFS would I be also required to pay the service charge fees ? 5000 |
Sorry for taking time in providing an update. Unfortunately my visa was denied because "the purpose was not given/ or information regarding it were not reliable" I got in touch with my contact and we are working on an appeal. I have been given an appointment at the consulate in abuja. I just want to know anyone who has applied for visa using the Abuja consulate. How much is to be paid as visa application fees is it the same as lagos? |
I just got notification that my application has been processed and my passport can be picked up at the VFS office.. I am in abuja and would have to wait till UPS delivers my package to my office in Abuja. I am very anxious |
Thanks alot, I have asked him to call the embassy and he has agreed. He said he would call on the Forth of October, Which is next week Monday. His take was to wait and see how this week pans out before making a move. What do you thing. Do u think 4th Nov (which is roughly 10 days till my intended departure) before I call or do I do this much earlier? |
Hi guys, I was invited for a 2 weeks workshop in france to start Nov 15 to 30th november. The invitation came from the HOD of the computer science department of the University where I work, a french professor who also happen to be a faculty member of the Blaise Pascal University France, The invitation came from Blaise Pascal. I applied for a visa on the 4th of Oct 2013 and supplied the following documents Pay Slip Letter of introduction from the HR director of my institute (The African University of Science and Technology Abuja) stating that the school would be responsible for my up keep during the stay Invitation Letter (Written in french and English) Letter from Blaise Pascal that my Accommodation and Feeding has been booked Insurance Flight reservation Pretty much every other documents which was listed (can't remember of the top of my head) I applied at the French VFS center in lagos and was given an instruction date of 27th of november. Kindly note that the timeframe for my workshop is btw 15-30 of november.. I was thus advised at the VFS center to write to the embassy or ask my company to write them asking them to please expedite my application to a time frame consistent with my travel time. I asked the professor who invited me to write them the france consulate ( admin-etrangers.lagos-fslt@diplomatie.gouv.fr) and also asked our HR director to do same. The prof wrote the consulate in french "seeking their kindness" in ensuring that the visa application is processed with a time frame consistent with the workshop.. My HR director also did the same. The consulate replied the prof stating that the application would be processed as soon as possible. This was on 7th of Oct 2013.. Till then I am yet o here from the consulate.. Here are my questions: Does writing the french consulate asking for an application to be expedited ahead of the instruction date so as to allow it fit a time frame purpose of the travel always work? Like do the consulate respect this letters? Is it ok as I asked the people who invited me to write the consulate and also my HR director? What would the house advise me to do in case I don't hear from them next week.. I would appreciate if people can advise me on this matter. |
CROWÉ: Yes, Mugabe is a horrible leader, after almost 30 years Zimbabwe have no economy to speak of, he is easily one of the worst rulers by any standard. By comparison the emperor of Japan turned Japan from a primitive state to a recognized power in about 30 years, even outperforming Russia who was a great power at the time. Zimbabwe is the perfect example of supreme ignorance and stewpidity, Mugabe took farms from the white people split them into smaller chunks and effectively ruined their commercial value and gave them to the black people, today many of them are abandoned, they are as failed as a state can get before it collapses and that man has had enough time to fix that country a few times over.Smirks of someone drunk on western media propaganda. It is sad that many hold view such as yours without even trying to digg deeper and see beyond the smoke screen. I don't blame you though, once the PR machine is turned against a person/state its hard to prove to the contrary. We had a team from my work place visit Zimbabwe recently regarding investment possibility. When my boss and other colleagues got back, they were full of tales of wonderment with one of my boss stating he would never ever believe western media ever. The reports I got from my colleague was a country on the right path towards economic independence, Zimbabwe is rich in minerals and Mugabe has initiated reforms which lead to the mining sector to be 100% driven by Zimbabweans, Not a single foreign company was involved in mining activities as Zimbabwean scientist have even developed their own tools and equipment all built and operated by Zimbabweans, (if only we could say same about Nigeria). The report was of a very organized country with good infrastructure(Road, electricity etc) corruption is very low.. and with an annual growth rate of close to 5% GDP with the country recovering from the recession and near collapse of the early 2000s.. The dollarization of their currency eliminated the hyper-influation resultant from the troubled land ownership transfer and western sactions. In terms of education Zimbabweans are one of the most educated people in Africa with a literacy rate of over 90% that more than can be said of a certain "giant of Africa" Mugabe is not perfect but he is no where near the monster he is presented to be. I met a Zimbabwean recently and even she admitted that she trust Mugabe more than she would the MDC clowns who lack the discipline of Mugabe. |
