Lol. It's just a means I devised to handle my physical cash needs. There's a particular customer of mine whom I normally instruct to make part payment for goods bought from me. So the balance is normally paid in cash which I collect from him piecemeal, depending on my cash needs.

Truth is none of these accounts are safe. You can only reduce the risk by ensuring you don't expose all of your cash to your payment card or everyday transactions. Always have an account separate from one you use daily to hold your savings. For me I have both Current and Savings. My current holds my daily transaction cash while my Savings holds my not to be touched savings. That account has no channel (card or USSD or mobile App) to it. You can also have your daily transaction accounts in a separate bank and transfer to that account anytime you want to transact.

priceactionx:
Me just dey do transactions anyhow on my phone these days because I don't have time to visit banks for transactions. I don't just have that time. But now am very confused. I use both access bank and stanbic ibtc mobile apps downloaded from playsore. Is it the one you people are talking about? They require pin to login though access bank own, I use fingerprint but I don't understand if it falls in the categories of what you people are talking about. Make I know what to do next before I regret of using them.
Recently my friend Skye bank account of 1.2mii was wiped off less than a month he traveled to SA. He even have his ATM with him there. Within 2 days, all the balance was reduced to 90 naira. Man needs to take extra measures. What do you suggest?

USSD is activated by default for all customers all you need to do is just for you to create your PIN grin ....it shouldn't be so. CBN wants customers to specifically request for the service from the bank before its activated but no ....the banks wants to make money. Now they've gone to WhatsApp Chat Banking

Baba was busy dancing for the electorate naaaa and forgot about the debate grin grin grin

gimmehear:
Why I was absent for Osun Debate.
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ademola Adeleke, has explained why he was absent at the 2018 Osun State governorship debate which held in Osogbo, the state capital on Sunday.

Adeleke’s seat was empty throughout the two-hour debate.

He said he did not refuse to show up as widely believed, but was “held up by the electorate in the places where he had gone to campaign on Sunday.”

Adeleke was one of the five candidates picked and invited for the debate which featured the All Progressive Congress candidate, Gboyega Oyetola; ADP candidate, Moshood Adeoti, ADC candidate, Fatai Akinbade and SDP candidate, Iyiola Omisore.

Speaking to newsmen on the phone on Sunday nght, the publicity director of the Adeleke campaign organisation, Olawale Rasheed, said while they were on their way to Osogbo, a community where they had gone to campaign blocked the highway.

He said they (community) had been marginalised all these years and that there had not been developments in their area.

“To our surprise, while we tried to skip the small towns and villages as we made efforts to meet up, they started trooping on the road; As I am talking to you now, we are just entering Osogbo,” Rasheed explained.

“We did the same thing at Ikirun, trying to avoid some villages, then we had a backlash from the voters, they insisted that they wanted to hear the man (Adeleke) personally speak to them.

“The last village that we attended at Ife East, they were complaining that they had had no light for years, they trooped to the road and blocked our path and this was around 7.30 p.m.

“What we did was to send a message to a correspondent of Channels, and later I sent a message to Seun Okinbaloye (Channels presenter). We are just entering Osogbo now as I speak to you.

“It is not that we are intent on not attending, no. We need to reach the voters and need their votes. And when they block the road and they say you can’t go, what do you do?”

He added that Adeleke made efforts to reach the people, “given the fact that reaching the people was fundamental in defeating an incumbent government.”

Hmmm! This doesn't sound good really. I work in the industry hence my posing all those questions. I would however advise that you go for a Savings and Current account with the bank ....only map your card to current account and never leave a balance on that account except when you want to transact with your card. That way you don't expose all your cash savings to fraudsters. undecided

lilclin:
the guy transferred money from the account... access bank said the last four digits of your atm can be used in place of your pin to clear your money as long as you're with the alerts number
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by bigtt76(f): 11:18am On Sep 17, 2018
I understand it clearly dear. My point earlier was that having access to your ATM card and mobile line does not automatically allow the thief access to your fund through the bank's ATM for cash withdrawal. I agree with USSD and Mobile Bank App, transfers can be made using all of these but not direct cash withdrawal from the ATM.

This is the reason why Central Bank of Nigeria is directing the banks to disable USSD by default on all account and also limit the amount drawable from the accounts using enabled USSD and mobile app channel

scotweezy:
You are still not getting the gist. If a third party has access to your ATM card and the number attached to that ATM, you are as good as toast.
Some certain banks(I am sure of GTBank and AccessBank) allow you to utilize the last four digit of your ATM in conjunction with a four digit pin you create i.e you can use either of the two options to initiate USSD transactions on the phone number attached to the ATM in question.
I hope you now understand the reason? undecided

How will they use the last 4 digit of your ATM Card? Is it that you actually used the last 4 digit of your card number as your PIN? shocked because I don't see how this is possible though. It would be good to know the bank involved though so we all can take extra care.

lilclin:
exactly... with the last 4 digits of your ATM and your money is gone
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by bigtt76(f): 10:54am On Sep 17, 2018
Yes that is if they got access to your Mobile Bank App on the device and your active phone line to reset the password as well as for USSD transactions. They however can't get your PIN to your ATM card undecided

waynemighty:
He is actually saying the truth, if they have the line/SIM used in opening the account and the account ATM card, they'll have access to the account and transfer from the account through USSD, Internet or Mobile App.
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by bigtt76(f): 10:25am On Sep 17, 2018
Naaah Not true. There's nothing in your alert SMS and your ATM Card that can allow non-authorized withdrawal using the card undecided

with your alerts number and your ATM card..
someone can easily steal your money

Did you keep your PIN to your ATM card in your bag or how was he able to conveniently guess your PIN without card being blocked? undecided

Una want make e go de twerk for camera? Invite him for a dance competition you will see him there grin

Rayd502:
Osun State, since its creation, has seen five governorship elections and even before election would hold, many keen political watchers would have predicted correctly where the pendulum would swing.
However, the forthcoming governorship poll remains one without a clear favourite just days before the poll. It is also the governorship poll with the highest number of candidates so far. As many as 48 political parties are fielding candidates in the election.

Out of the lot, five candidates are prominent and anyone of them has the chance of winning the election. The five top candidates are Iyiola Omisore of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Ademola Adeleke of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Gboyega Oyetola of All Progressives Congress (APC), Fatai Akinbade of African Democratic Congress (ADC), and Moshood Adeoti of Action Democratic Party (ADP)
