Very well said! We shouldn't allow small issues like this derail this thread. When I talk earlier say the name 'tout' nor good (borrowing from its use in the Nigeria context) dem say I nor sabi the correct meaning. If anyone comes to this thread and see all the tirades being fired left and right, they wee just conclude 'Touts on Nairaland' are fighting and we all know how touts fighting is always an issue at Obalende or Lagos Island grin grin grin grin .....abeg o! Na joke are de oooo! Peace to all.

fibonacci2526:
This is my summation:

Macbeyland don't want you to think Protein0 has a perceived bitterness towards you, not at all. Why should he?As it is you don't have an idea of what he has done on your behalf as am privy to that information with proof. Never ever assume he has something against you as this is not TRUE.

Protein0, forget all the accusations and counter accusations and be the bigger person here. It's enough!

And to all those who are good at stoking the fire(they know themselves), una go dey alright last last.

Like I said these jabs/subs are bothering on childishness, y'all are adults and should behave like one.

Hahaha ...you're daaah best buoda tout kiss

Protein0:
Nigerians' meanings of words can't change their real meanings ma
I've answered to tout and will still answer it over n over if you address me as such. Egbon tout becomes a phrase with "egbon" having various meanings in the Yoruba language. I'm an L1 user of the kaarooojiire language and I can tell you the various contextual meanings of egbon.
Tout is the word on discus, not egbon tout ma, if you must make it a phrase "aburo tout, omo tout, ogbeni tout, arakunrin tout" are all OK for me. If the egbon was Intended to portray elder respect, then "buoda tout, baba tout, Alaafin tout, alayelua tout" are all fine too.
8 options you have there ma, in place of egbon tout kiss
Politics › Re: 2019: Is Ambode Afraid Of Direct Primaries? by bigtt76(f): 1:09pm On Sep 15, 2018
Ambode should be happy sef ....let him face the people to judge whether he's fit doe a second term of not ...if they say no ....good. If they say yes ...even better, when Tinubu comes for the usual share of the state wealth, tell hi to also go and meet the people and let them decide if he's entitled to a share tongue

CilicMarin:
I don't understand this issue of everybody begging Tinubu to back Ambode..is Tinubu God? As a sitting governor, I don't expect Ambode to be begging for support, but rather have his own support group who should be able to deliver him in the forthcoming primaries.

We cannot be accusing Tinubu of imposition and at the same time asking him to impose Ambode on others. Moreover the former governor has only 1 Vote.

We are too religious thats why we are scammed. The lady felt bad because she thought of what the bible said with respect to giving and be blessed ...unfortunately her faith failed her cause in her heart she became bitter immediately she saw what the money was being put to use. Same way our pastors collect our tithes and used them to flex to our bitterness tongue

Hahaha ...I understand but just felt using it here on Nairaland knowing how fully bastardized the word is used in Nigeria, might make visitors to this thread feel scared undecided but if its deem ok, permit me to be calling you egbon tout tongue kiss

Check it again ma.
Apart from having no demeaning meaning, it has become a parlance with its unambiguous meaning here. kiss

Ofcourse I do dear ....maybe I should have based my argument in the context of Nairaland which more less represents Nigeria. We all know that the word 'tout' in Nigeria has been bastardized, any visitor to Nairaland seeing that widely used to mean someone selling goods or services, is bound to be scared of furthering that pursuit undecided

acekid109:
i don't think you actually understand what the word means touting has to do with advertisements n convincing pple to buy the advertised products

I think the best option would be for each of them to maintain their own pages on NL and post a link to their signature. That way potential buyers can be redirected to those pages when the vendors (or touts as they call themselves) comment on a post. Its almost confusing seeing the adverts and in some cases they are not even up to date with their inventories. angry

fibonacci2526:
Re this ad issue, I personally feel the best way to go about it is that sellers post ads just TWICE daily(no 2 ads per page still stands here) . The issue of "the first to post" on a page is unfair as some other sellers might not be chanced to come online always which will inevitably lead to a seller posting more than 4/5 ads daily. TWICE per day is the way to go.
Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by bigtt76(f): 11:57am On Sep 15, 2018
SMH ....see how you guys are glorifyingly calling yourself touts Haba! angry Why don't you use dignifying name ...vendors or resellers? Must it be touts? Toh!

macbeyland:
Hehehehe. You know say we dey all do like that.

I actually posted first in prep for my ad.

Normally, before I post ad, I check whether any other tout has posted a comment on the page, even an emoji. Once I see any comment from any tout, I will not bother to post my ad.

tammygomo:
It is no longer news that Davido isn’t in NYSC camp. What is surprising is how he brags about it and the NYSC management seem to be undisturbed.

Earlier today, Nigerian football analyst, Oma Akatugba accused Davido of posing for photos in NYSC uniform without going to school.

His tweet reads, “so Davido that never went to school and also is currently observing his Youth service in America grilling with Mr patrick is a more valid university graduate than Kemi Adeosun because he posed for a photograph in that uniform?”.

Davido simply replied, ‘yea tweeting this all the way from Deutschland?’.

I feel irritated when these people say 'Buhari plotted coup in 1983' ......NO he did not! The coup was plotted by the likes of Babangida and co. Buhari was only nominated to head the government out of respect for him

IllegalMoney:

“Buhari who staged a coup in 1983, removed the political class and clamped them into prisons is the same Buhari doing the same thing, today, dehumanizing humanity

“Today, we are more divided as a people. There is more poverty in the country than it was in the past; more pains and agonies. APC has no history like the PDP. It is a mere political contraption.

“For us to have a country which belongs to all Nigerians in a federation, we must have equal rights and opportunity. Every Nigerian has the right to access power whether from the North or South.

“Buhari and the APC have no vision, no human compassion and all they like doing is to inflict pains on Nigerians. They want to destroy people’s living standard to a level that they will all become perpetually poor.

A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr Sule Lamido has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of dehumanizing Nigerians like he did in 1983.

Lamido speaking in Benin City, Edo State on Thursday while addressing delegates ahead of the October National Convention of the party, insisted that Buhari who staged a coup in 1983, removed the political class and clamped them into prisons, “is the same Buhari doing the same thing today, dehumanizing humanity.”

He urged Nigerians to join hands with his party to rescue the country from the clutches of President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The former Jigawa State governor said “For us to have a country which belongs to all Nigerians in a federation, we must have equal rights and opportunity. Every Nigerian has the right to access power whether from the North or South.

“PDP made some mistakes. Some of its members were reckless but they are humans. Time will cure us because they are humans. Some us are calling Buhari’s name because we don’t have institutions. The economy is very weak, no security, no bureaucracy, and no standing institutions to protect all of us in terms of justice and fairness. One single human being is appropriating Nigeria as if it is his own.

“Today, this party of saints called the APC is a party of pains, hunger, anger and evil and where are we today? It is a party which has no historical foundation, no philosophy, ideology.

“Buhari and the APC have no vision, no human compassion and all they like doing is to inflict pains on Nigerians. They want to destroy people’s living standard to a level that they will all become perpetually poor.

“Leadership is geared towards raising people, motivate and give hope and confidence. All those that makes APC government thick are former PDP members.

“They are former governors, senators, ministers, ambassadors among others. The PDP you maligned is now the prominent members of the party and if you says we are thieves, then the government in Abuja is of evil people.

“The former PDP members are the ones that produce the APC government in Abuja. Then how do we build a nation by maligning each other’s where there is no love, respect. Leadership is about that human feeling in you, the feeling of care and compassion. When you see poverty, you feel it.

“Nigeria is for us and not for APC, Lamido or for PDP, as such nobody can come and destroy the country. Be on the watch out. My aspiration is not a desperation. But you and I have been in PDP. We have been demoralized, gone through hell, coerce but yet we never left the party.”
