It is guidelines like this that causes inflation and panicking. Too high level for the common man on the street to understand. All they would be thinking now is Naira has no value hence charge anything above normal for services rendered or goods being sold. CBN should have set out with a more friendly and understandable guidelines buh... that governor man head nor de |

Lies Van Vickers has wife and kids too. Why would he want to do that? Modified"I’ve never slept with Van Vicker – woman replies husband" Van Vicker's Manager reacts to husband's claims. In response to the recent rumors trending on the internet concerning Van Vicker and I, none of it is true. Neither Van nor myself would do such a thing. We both have families that we love and care about dearly. Van and I have worked together professionally and as a family for over five years and have never encountered such nonsense accusations. My husband has security issues due to an accident that has completely interrupted his life. He has been harassing all of my male friends, including pastors, ministers, and deacons for years and I chose to ignore. However, this accusation is too ridiculous for me to ignore because it is in the public domain. Further, it is my understanding that my husband is going through some type of medical crisis. I will be returning to the US shortly to deal with this situation and would love my family to be left alone whiles dealing with this unfortunate situation privately. I am currently in Liberia attending to business. While here, we will be premiering our film along with another business associate who also flew in with me from the States to attend both the Ghana and Liberia premieres of the movie 'Skinned'. I assure everyone that there is no evidence of any sort to back up these baseless claims by my husband. Whatever pictures and videos he says he can produce will be of us going in and out of events premises, pick ups and drop offs. None of these pics or video will be compromising in any way. Again, I am asking that these rumors be put to rest. Van Vicker is my client and 'family'. Word! Orikinla: When will Mr. Seun Kuti grow up? He is still gloating in the shadow of his legendary father Fela Kuti of blessed memory. Seun has never composed one single hit song. Will all the political brouhaha going on in Nigeria, Fela would have composed many hit songs since 1999 to date. Femi Kuti has even tried with a couple of hit songs, but Seun seems to be clueless and lazy.. |
Celebrities › Re: Seun Kuti Recounts Fela And Abiola's Encounter by bigtt76(f): 8:01pm On Jun 14, 2016 |
Most likely Chief Tabansi. He owned a record label which also had Majek Father back in the days. He usually short-handed his artists naptu2: Can anybody remind of the person that Fela threatened to deal with in the late 1980s or early '90s? The person was the CEO or a top executive at Fela's record company and Fela alleged that the record company was making a lot of money from his music without giving him his agreed share of the money. So Fela threatened to personally deal with the person and have him detained at the Shrine.
The person replied that Fela cannot do anything to him because this is the Federal Republic of Nigeria, not Kalakuta Republic. I can't remember if it was Dean Disi or Chief Tabansi or who exactly the person was and I'll be very grateful if anybody can remind me. |
Celebrities › Re: Seun Kuti Recounts Fela And Abiola's Encounter by bigtt76(f): 7:42pm On Jun 14, 2016 |
This sounds more credible than Seun's version Caveatemptor: The real story is that Fela was on Decca label owned by Abiola. There was an argument over record sales and royalties, so Fela and his 27 queens and all his band boys headed for Decca records and illegally occupied the place for days until they were ejected by the police. Fela then hired some night soilsmen called agbepoo to go and dump buckets of poo poo(shit) in front of Abiolas house over night such that the occupants could not exit the house in the morning. Seun should get his facts right please. |

Politics › Re: Declare June 12 Democracy Day And Not May 29 – Governor Aregbesola by bigtt76(f): 11:00am On Jun 13, 2016 |
YOLO1: Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State is of the opinion that June 12 should be declared Democracy Day and not May 29 because that was the day Nigerians laid aside their differences and voted a leader. In his address to mark the 23rd anniversary of the annulled election, the Governor insisted that June 12, 1993 was the day Nigerians voted the acclaimed winner of the Presidential election, M.K.O Abiola without recourse to religion or ethnicity.
Aregbesola said, “We will never drop our commitment to June 12. Nigerians, in their heterogeneity, on June 12, 1993, voted for Chief Abiola in a pattern that defied ethnicity, religion, ideology and locality.
“It was a pattern that made mockery of the fabled fault-lines and fissiparous tendencies of the Nigerian federation and projected a nation united behind a popular leader.
Noting that May 29 only symbolises the day the military handed over leadership of the country to a democratically elected government, Aregbesola explained that the unity with which the multi-ethnic groups spoke and acted on June 12, 1993 is what is being celebrated till today.
“May 29, in 1999, was the date the military handed over power to civilian administration and will remain symbolic for the transition to civil rule and the opportunity it presents for realising a truly democratic government that approximates the yearnings and aspirations of the people for a leader that will lead them to the Promised Land of security and life more abundant,” he said.
The governor, however, stated that the country had to wait for a long time after the annulment for the emergency of President Muhammadu Buhari, a leader that would take the country to the Promised Land until.
“We waited for 16 years for that leadership to emerge and we thank God for the election and coming to power of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“A government with a human face is here at last. He represents the aspirations and symbolism of June 12 in that he also got a pan-Nigerian mandate that once again defied the divisions in our country.
“He represents hope for change and national rebirth. He is on that path. God willing, he will lead us to the Promised Land,” Aregbesola said.
Aregbesola said despite the many imperfections associated with democracy, it remains the best form of government.

Car Talk › Re: Why Do The FRSC Insists On Front Seat Belts Only? by bigtt76(f): 7:41am On Jun 13, 2016 |
Do they know that? They are only interested in oppressing drivers upandan Lezzlie: Why do Nigerian FRSC insists on driver and front passenger seat belts only when rear seat belts are just as important.
Frontal collusion can send a rear occupant smashing through the windshield and onto the pavement without seat belts.
A somersaulting vehicle can also spill rear occupants out of windows when seatbelts are not fastened. But the FRSC do not enforce rear seat belt application or usuage.
Is there something substantially different in vehicle regulations about the usages of front and rear seat belts? |

The economy has always been on a false foundation right from time. We've only been deceiving ourselves that we had a robust economy when in actual fact we didn't. It only took the fall in oil price for that to expose us all. Imagine the rebasing of our economy under the previous regime making it the biggest in Africa even when we depended solely on importation, poor power supply, low agricultural exports .....we were merely deceiving ourselves. The reality has now come clear to us and we MUST face it to become greater Nation tomorrow or chill out and continue to live a false life as a Nation. MRSALT: Buhari has finally destroyed the most robust economy in Africa just within one year. Some people will come now and say former administration is the cause. But in the history of Nigeria, there are times we had no foreign reserve and the sell of crude oil was as low as $35 dollars per barrel, yet banks did not regulate the amount of cash an individual could withdraw. May Nigeria never go Greece way. If you do not understand, the banks are indirectly saying 'there is no money' because people are withdrawing cash from their accounts in order to buy dollars from the black markets . Now, banks have no dollars to sell and they have no cash to give you. |
