Do you have BIS data on the bold 5? If not then you need it. Your friend using it on Android has data on it and has also defaulted Viber as his or her voice call app.

Sports › Re: NFF Shortlists Amodu, Oliseh Toreplace Keshi by bigtt76(f): 12:57pm On Jul 03, 2014
Exactly my thoughts here too knowing that Keshi has only been to the World Cup as a coach for the first time. Given the second chance, stands to perform better than get a new coach who has never been there before. Lets not forget too that the next coach ...white or black if that good, would be coaching his country's National team and not another country.

majamajic: Is it the same amodu I know or a new amodu,
If its the old one, what has he been doing all these years and his achievements.
If its a new one what's his CV
For oliseh, its a try your luck things.
Its a high time we go for well known coaches (black , white or pink). Or we stick with keshi as in the devil we know and he tried (can't remember any African coach that took any African team beyond group stage of any WC.

Yobo would still have scored anyway or boys would have lost in extra time ...not with Mikel stroling on pitching doing 'passing-passing' grin

moshino: Obviously you know NOTHING about football, nor goalkeeping. Enyema is a fantastic goalkeeper, but he made a fatal error in goalkeeping by coming out and NOT PUNCHING the ball CLEARLY away, he had open palms instead of CLOSED FIST. In that situation, he should've stayed behind and allowed his defenders work, or come out and PUNCHED the ball with CLOSED FIST, with an extended closed fist, he would've had better and higher reach than a player cumming in for a header, and if any french player made contact with him, Nigeria would've had a free-kick, and lived to fight on.

Education › Re: Six (6) Most Expensive Secondary Schools In Nigeria (alarming School Fees) by bigtt76(f): 10:18pm On Jun 29, 2014
Hmmm

Mad Cow: we fall into the lucky few that survived that system of education.

I was always terrified of mathematics tests, quizzes and eXmas. I was a perpetual back bencher in a class of 45- 55 students. I always got lost in the crowd and copied my way through school until my mum caught on to my antics and started paying close attention to my studies and hired home tutors to help me keep up.

A lot of my classmates fell off. They beat the system all the way to university graduation only to get caught in the vicious and unforgiving world of corporate employment where you can't cheat your way through.

These ivy league schools sure can reduce their rather outrageous tuition, but seeing as demand for top quality schools have increased and public schools are on an unending slide into uselessness, one can't blame them. In my days, the unity schools where the best, today those unity schools are a shadow of their previous glory.

I have accepted the decay in Nigeria's education system and have recognised that for my kids to get top quality education, I would have to pay top dollar, so now I hussle harder to afford this necessity.

It's sad though.
Education › Re: Six (6) Most Expensive Secondary Schools In Nigeria (alarming School Fees) by bigtt76(f): 4:53pm On Jun 29, 2014
I get you ...we all went through same school of hard knocks grin I remember in secondary school back in Nigeria. Each time we had class test in the sciences, the next class is always dreaded as those who failed are flogged grin the thing is, it helped instill fear of failure and forced us to study or cram as much as we can to avoid such.

Long run, we studied to pass tests and exams but understood natin grin This changed later in life when no longer under pressure ...everything just fell into place.

Mad Cow: If my kid brother had attended the same schools I did, he would have suffered and probably lost interest in school.

And I don't mean Ghana, I'm talking about Europe and the Americas. Where teaching is studied and where teachers recognize that every child's learning curve is unique to that child. Where a genius kid is placed in an accelerated or advanced learning program and a child with a learning disorder is placed in special ed.

I went to school with kids who couldn't keep up and the only solution to a child failing a test is to flog the kid or make the child repeat the class for so long they develop a complex.

So many Nigerians pass through school but yet are not educated, case in point; the countless educated reeetards that we have on Nairaland. People who can't tell the difference between a plier and a cutter or 'I'm and Am'.

Like my Vice Principal in Secondary school always said; if you think education is expensive, try ignorance.

Even in the US and Europe, public schools and Ivy League schools are not in the same class and the reason is obvious. The government can never afford to provide the same standard of education for the masses. Imagine if government schools were relegated to having just 8 - 12 students per class, we would need atleast 100 more public schools to accommodate the current number of students they have.

The moral lesson here is simply "Make Money" because better soup and money go hand in hand.

Jigga101: Ghana's is not a trend though. They performed great but was just unfortunate to make it to the next round.
Sports › Re: Ghana Is The Best Football Nation In Africa. by bigtt76(f): 12:21pm On Jun 29, 2014
Its a known trend on the African scene. When a National team performs ...qualifies to the next round or quarter finals, come next edition they tend to perform below par and also in subsequent ones.

For example

1. Morroco - Round of 16 at Mexico 86 till date nowhere to be found
2. Cameroun - Quarter finals Italia 90 till date still struggling
3. Nigeria - Round of 16 at USA 94 and France 98. Knocked out Group Stage Korea/Japan 2002, missed Germany 2006, Group Stage South Africa 2010. Brazil 2014 ...only God can tell. We de Round of 16 shaa.
4. Ghana - Round of 16 Germany 2006, Quarter Finals South Africa 2010. Group Stage Brazil 2014
5. Senegal - Quater Finals Korea/Japan 2002, no where to be found on the scene.
6. Algeria - Group Stage Spain 82. Back in Round of 16 Brazil 2014 (they are promising this looks like their year though) grin

Wonder what causes this sad trend.
