mbulela:so on behalf of who is Atedo complaining/campaigning? |
These cowboys no sabi dem mate ![]() Can you imagine that useless Roy 'can't catch the ball' Williams mouthing off to the Saints. 8-5 to 13-0 na 7up, the difference is clear ![]() He even has the audacity to say that they will be seeing in the saints again in the playoffs The guy and the entire franchise should wake up and smell the akamu; I will likely have a better view of the playoffs than Romo! |
So he wants a different set of regulations for each bank or just seeking preferential treatment for his own? ![]() |
AngieFan:The US formally joined the war in December 1941 and had been covertly involved before then. The tide of the war turned in the latter half of 1942 when Japan and Germany both suffered major losses in Midway Atoll and Russia. The Allied counteroffensive started in 1943. |
The Denver game was effectively over when the Colts went up 21-0. Denver could never put up enough points to win the game. Colts spent the middle of the game trying out their passing offense against a 5+ DB package. When needed, they ran the ball (which is what you should do with 5+ DB on the field) and put the game away. I am still not convinced on denver, as their poor running defence and dependence on Brandon will likely hurt them in the playoff. I hope the get the 5th seed and play against NE in the wildcard. I expect Ravens to get the 6th seed. Jags lost out the moment they lost to miami, as I dont see them beating the pats and colts. Dolphins deserve a playoff berth given that they have the strongest schedule, but unfortunately the will need NE to stumble and them winning the division. They might still make it if Baltimore stumbles Titans and Steelers will need miracles to qualify. ![]() |
No2Atheism:that is debatable. There are different levels of management, and different levels of abstraction are affordable. An operations level manager needs a considerable level of hands on knowledge, while an executive could do with little to none. Effective IT management often requires that the manager be knowledgeable in IT, else you could end up employing someone who could do the manager's job as his subordinate (which is a quite inefficient arrangement). |
Afam:more saddening is that often there are others who could do the job but do not get the opportunity because they don't know the 'right' people |
No2Atheism:We have learnt nothing in over a century, I doubt we will learn anything tomorrow. |

He has laid his bed, he should lie on it. |
Until Nigerians are ready to patronize local production, they should not demand for it. Our 'consumer orientation' has led to huge trade deficits that have more or less stunted our growth as a nation. Still ATM systems are not as difficult to deploy and manage as Nigerian banks seem to make them. |
Saints should enjoy their 16-0 as I doubt they will make it to the SB with their injured secondary. A defense that gives campbell and Redman ratings of 111.9 and 93.1 respectively will not get you to the SB, particularly with QBs like Favre, Rodgers, Warner and McNabb standing in your way. They need to get some of those guys back asap to stand any chance. The NFC is still anyone's to win and their playoffs are going to be quite unpredictable, with Jerkyll-Hyde teams like the Eagles and Cardinal prowling around. In the AFC, there are only two teams that can beat the Colts: Chargers and Pats. The rest just cant put up enough points against the colts to stand a chance of winning. Even then, the Colts are better than those two teams on paper, but giving their perennial playoff struggles, one cant bet all on them. If the colts win their first playoff game, they will win the SB. |
mastro:The question then would be what is the difference between a personal cheque, a bank draft, and banknotes? But on a more serious note, please explain to me how this makes policies more effective. Bearing in mind that nowadays virtually all large scale fraud is done via the eletronic bank transfer systems that the central bank are touting. Or do you think that people walk into a branch with a chq for N1billion and cash it.Like I said before its not just about fraud (even though electronic systems are overall more secure than paper based schemes). Policies are more effective cos there is less money in 'limbo'. |
mastro:Feel free to pay them with multiple smaller cheques ![]() Its not just about fraud but also to reduce the level of cash transactions (and hopefully increase electronic ones), which would in turn give the CBN a firmer grip on monetary issues and make policies more effective. Unfortunately, like the typical Nigerian, you cant seem to see beyond yourself. |
Look at these useless Farca boys, their full squad couldnt beat a Villa-less valencia, while Madrid, without Kaka and CR, go there and grab all 3pts from Villa and company. ![]() |
SAF has grown so old that he is now a child, who feels he should get everything he want by hook or crook, even if he doesn't deserve it. So it was fine for the ref to decide the added time when it allowed him score a late goal to beat Citeh, but now that he lost to a goal scored in the 21st minute it has to be taken out of the ref's hand. ![]() United failed to score in 95mins of play, 1yr of added time wouldn't have changed the outcome. |
PapaBrowne:Please correct me if I 've misunderstood your earlier post, but it seems you defined 'real credit' as all those credit instruments issued to entities outside of the banking sector. Thus i would expect your '80% slump' claim to be based on data from said banks or said entities. As regards a credible source/evidence to support my 80% figure, I work with data everyday. The figures are actually worse off, however, they are not conclusive, hence the 80% is just an estimation. You have nether provided evidence to support your claim, nor made reference to any credible source(s) to to support it. To say that 'I work with data everyday' and expect the phrase to be taken as evidence of credibility is hilarious at best, and seems quite disingenuous. That you work with data does not not make said data, or your deductions from it, credible. You say that 'The figures are actually worse off, however, they are not conclusive, hence the 80% is just an estimation'. Yet you had earlier made it seem like a statement of fact saying PapaBrowne:if data are inconclusive, why say that credit has slumped much more than 80%? ![]() Like I said before, you are simply spreading fear, doom and gloom about the sector, without any credible evidence to backup your claim. It is such actions that has increased the risk level in the sector by painting the picture of a poor state and/or uncertainty. Any well meaning Nigerian should not be focused on 'Sanusi the man', but on the policies and action of the CBN, and its attendant effect on the banking sector and the economy as a whole. This should be analyzed, and deductions made, based on concrete data and facts, and not conjectures and rumors like you seem to have done earlier. BTW you are yet to actually state at what point Sanusi got it wrong, and what the right alternative was. ![]() |
The issue is not with the 'bride price' per se, but with parents who feel they deserve hefty material compensations for giving out their daughter's hand in marriage, and might go as far as giving her to the highest bidder. Abrogating the bride price would not change this, as such parents would seek the compensation under a different banner. |
PapaBrowne:Please clarify what you mean by 'real credit', and provide a credible source/evidence to support your '80% slump' claim |
enemies, wey dem? Villa no get craze, Valencia no get aroma ![]() Make Barca no worry, we go soon overtake una ![]() |
So Sanusi's actions has cost the sector over N1B in 3 months? cos thats how much those banks had cost the interbank market before the intervention Sanusi made it known that some banks were ailing and removed executives that had acted inimically in the sector. I ask should he have feigned ignorance and left said executives in office? Is this the first time a bank executive has been sacked, or have we not have entire banks shut down in the past? If you say Sanusi's actions were wrong, would imply that you know the right alternative that should have been taken. Can u let us hear them? The bulk of the problems are from the actions of the sacked executives, and the likes of you who are spreading fear, doom and gloom about the sector. Like his predecessors, leave him alone and let him do his job. After 5yrs, we will take stock and evaluate his tenure in office. The question should never be about the man, but rather the issues and policies. The banking sector has always been plagued by poor corporate governance and inflated books. For once in recent years, we have a CBN that is able and willing to fulfill its supervisory role, and the best some Nigerians can do is to criticize him for doing so. It seems they would rather we keep fooling ourselves that all is well. That is like the drunkard who decides it is better to avoid the imminent hangover by staying drunk ![]() . |
@Cristalz Attempts to deceive the referee by feigning injury or pretending to have been fouled (simulation) is deemed unsporting behavior and deserves a caution. The existence (or otherwise) of contact is irrelevant. After all, Football is a contact sport. |
I don tell FP, we dey buy Rooney for summer ![]() |
PapaBrowne:Nice list you have going, though I wonder to what end. You would rather we continue with the facade of healthy banks, rather than face the music or do you think those banks were healthy? ![]() Are you saying Nigeria and Nigerians would have been better off if Sanusi had done nothing? ![]() It would have been interesting for Sanusi to have segregated those banks from the interbank market, and no more, then we would have seen if the likes of you would have put your money where you mouth seems to be. Feel free to criticize his methods (though am yet to hear an effective alternative), but the bottom line is that Sanusi did not create nor engender the rot, he is simply trying to clear it up |
and we are back to the draws ![]() another game killed by bringing on Santa Cruz. I dread when Adebayor goes for CAN. |
PapaBrowne:so your problem with Sanusi is motivated by the lost returns on your investments? ![]() |
oyinda.:Lets just say, I have seen one or more guys, go in and come out, of this venerable lodgings, and I can say that all these men would have jumped at the chance if given the alternative of being married to Tiger and his cheating behind. ![]() |
oyinda.:While your analogy might be fine using an overseas prison, you obviously have no idea (and pray you never do) what its like to spend a night at Kirikiri staff quarters ![]() |
Its saddening that some, who should know better, cannot (or choose not to) differentiate between the evenness of a rule, and the equitableness of its application Anyways, guess it just another record in the chronicles of the tin gods ![]() |
As usual, Nigerians prefer to argue about the men, and not the issues. ![]() |
MrCrackles:I suspect the poster may prefer the latter ![]() |
