EducationRe: Does Ssce Expire! by biina: 6:51am On May 23, 2009
@topic
The SSCE qualification itself is permanent, but it has a 5yr limit as a requirement for admission into a higher institution.
The argument is that, beyond 5yrs your level of knowledge of the tested subject can no longer be correlated to the certificate.
For example, you doing well in a physics 10yrs ago, does not mean you still remember the material today, and thus there is no guarantee that you would be able to cope with an engineering course in the university.
This is not peculiar to WAEC, as same is practiced everywhere else in the world.

Then you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.
- The appointment of a new CBN governor will affect Nigeria's exportation?
- His appointment would affect the running of the government at federal or state level?
- Or his appointment will automatically deplete the already depleting foreign reserve?

Wont be surprising if your comments were simply because the guy is not your preferred choice.

You should resist the urge to type if you have no tangible contributions to make.

PoliticsRe: Three Illegal Varsities Shut In Anambra by biina: 3:13am On May 23, 2009
It is unfortunate, but the students cannot be absorbed into the other universities, as each university determines his/her criterion for admission. JAMB or NUC cannot impose a student on a school, unless the student applied and met the requirement for admission. The schools were the student's choice.

The student can however sue the school authorities for compensation.
PoliticsRe: Ohanaeze Berates Lagos Over Ban On Eze Ndigbo by biina: 3:02am On May 23, 2009
Bearing a title in Lagos IS the business of the Lagos state government and goes beyond Ndigbo. Unless you feel the Igbos in Lagos are not subject to the state government.  The state government has not banned them from assuming their titles outside the jurisdiction of the state.

Like I said earlier, the Lagos state government (or any government) consulting ohaneze (or any other group) would be an act of courtesy and not by right or a requirement.

As to Igbos deserving more representation in Lagos, we are no longer under a military regime. Once you meet the requirements for office, feel free to contest in the election.

If the Igbos feel so aggrieved by the actions of the Lagos state government, they are free to shun the state in favor of more conducive areas.

It wont be changed. the north would either literarily starve to death or pour enmasse into the south.
The problem of the average southerner, feeling the average northerner desires what the south has. I doubt you have ever lived in the north, else you wouldn't make such a statement.
If Nigeria was to break up, the north will not have the economical potential of other areas, but they would be politically stable and progress at their own pace.
The average northerner is not as ambitious as the average southerners. Do not use their elite as a template for the entire region.
PoliticsRe: War In Niger Delta: Mend Threatens Northerners In Oil Industry by biina: 1:07am On May 23, 2009
In the month of march, Akwa Ibom, Rivers and Delta got approximately NGN 7.6 Billion, NGN 7.5 Billion and NGN 7.0 Billion respectively.
Shouldn't the state governments be held accountable for these funds first, before crying foul and threatening Northerners?

what is the responsibility of your state government then? huh undecided

I really wish they would let the ND secede (the developed countries would be so happy). I am personally tired of their 'victim whining' and trying to justify criminal behaviors under the banner of marginalization.

Nobody is always right, and nobody is always wrong. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Elders should be respected, and experience should be valued.
Experience they say is the best teacher, but it is also a mean teacher. Things learnt through personal experiences are not easily forgotten.
Unfortunately, life is too short to learn from your own mistakes (it is better to learn from the mistakes and experience of others)

MEND are always quick to blame the FG and the rest of Nigeria for their problems.

Each oil company has a department for sustainable development in the ND area. The manager of this department is usually from the ND area (I cant remember one that was not). They are given funds for projects in the region, but often collude with the elites of the region to embezzle most of such funds. How many of those managers have been condemned by MEND? rather the entire oil company and their contract staffs are held responsible.

The truth is that it is a simple case of person wey wan die meet person wey go kill am, bury am. Oil producing is highly capital intensive and the oil companies will do whatever they can to maximize returns on their investments. Oil companies are not saints or demons, they are simply unscrupulous businessmen, who will go into cahoots with anyone (read NNPC and ND elites) willing to help them improve their bottom line.

i have friends who have shacked up with their chicks back in the day, and married them, and i have friends who shacked up with chicks and dumped them.

sadly out of school, there's no real way of knowing a guys intentions. you may get some hints from the sort of peeps  he rolls with.

by all means drop a few clothes. for me, i see it as more of convenience for both of you than anything else. you hit his house on a monday night, and you stay over. are you going to wear the same clothes you wore the day  before to work? unless you are going straight home from his house, having some stuff there is just simply logical.ditto if you plan on unscheduled weekends. i used to hang out at a friends place, so i dropped some clothes there.maybe not quite the same analogy, but you get the idea

a man who shacks up with you then calls you loose for doing so is nothing more than a sanctimonious hypocrite. so what does it say of him? is he not also loose for living in sin?

all such a guy is doing is going for the cowardly exit that so many of us men are known for. after all the lies and sweet nothings we tell to get into the panties, we can't exactly take them all back when we want to move on, so we resort to absurd excuses

anyhow.

@ op, do what your heart tells you. the business of love is nowhere near as cut an dried as so many of us want to believe it is
who say no be d same analogy? we no get proof say u no fit dey climb brokeback mountain  grin
