Car Talk › Re: Why Is The Engine Fan Connected Direct To The Battery by Billiebaba(m): 8:24pm On Mar 28, 2020 |
Pls scan the car first, that direct connection to ignition might have caused it to have difficulty operating at closed loop, the engine's computer might be trying to make it enter close loop, thereby increasing the fuel trims. |

Billiebaba: Good evening boss, I was working on a car today Corolla 2009 with a 2zr engine. Before accident, the car was starting fine without problems. During the course of repairs engine had to be removed. After the repairs engine was replaced everything was put back in place except for the airbags they were yet to be replaced because of funds. Here is the problem, I have spark, fuel, compression, at times it will do as if it wanna start but it won't start after a very long crank. No fault codes present In the Powertrain ECU. I'm just stuck as I don't know what to do, though the engine sat outside the car for about a week. I really appreciate everybody's contribution, the fix was just a new set of spark plugs on all 4 cylinders |

AutoMoTech: Confirm timing is correct... Presence of air, fuel and spark at wrong time, d engine will never run. Let us start with confirming ignition timing is correct. If timing is correct , then lets check the sensors responsible for letting the computer know when to fire the ignition and injectors... These are the Cam and Crank sensors... Confirm they work as they should Is there a way of checking it without a scope and without removing the valve cover |

AutoMoTech: Lwkmd. Like seriously? Bros and U dey talk dis thing confidently o... Forgive my memory, I just got it clearly now. I'm being confused with duty cycle of electric motors as their speed is controlled by the percentage duty cycle and forgetting that injectors duty cycle varies the amount of time it will open, thinking it only controls rotary related components. I agree injectors are pulse width modulated. |

Inception: It is PWM (pulse width modulated) Injectors are not pulse width modulated, they are more like mechanical switches like that of relays. |
Car Talk › Re: Thegiftedone And Injector Harness Modifications by Billiebaba(m): 2:38am On Feb 06, 2020 |
First, I would like to see and know the value of the resistors added to it and how the modifications were made. Resistors will surely limit the amount of current pulsing the injectors. Thereby causing incomplete opening of the solenoids in the injectors. It might actually affect the spray pattern, whichever way it will still spray fuel. But what bothers me is will the new spray pattern allow for complete combustion that won't affect the engine's performance at higher RPM. |

Phedam: Hello guys, I use a 2007 model VW jetta. I just noticed some days back that while accelerating, my car suddenly jerks violently. Let me explain better, If the car is at, say 40km/hr and I start accelerating, when it gets to like 60 it stops increasing speed and starts jerking violently, if I take my leg a bit away from the pedal and move at constant speed (60km/hr) for about 30 seconds and then accelerate again it will respond to the acceleration until I get to like 80km/hr and it jerks again. and the same cycle occurs at 100km/hr.
Please is there anybody with an idea of what can be going wrong with the car. Responses will be appreciated. Thanks Get the car scanned, I can sense gear issue, it has difficulties engaging gears. |

Perfecttouchade: greetings chief, I have a BMW 316i....it won't start while attempting to start until the mechanic go to the bonnet and pass a little fuel through one small hose then it will start after 2 attempts, serviced the nozzles, change fuel pumps, coil as well but no difference, I got a rewire to work on it and after working for some days, it went back to the hard starting ish...kindly help with solution The issue might be along the fuel line, check fuel pressure, check the fuel regulator. When does it do hard start, is it when you want to start it after long hours of sitting or when few minutes after you stop the engine to restart?? |

Car Talk › Re: Honda City Goes Off At Slow Speed And Battery Light Comes On by Billiebaba(m): 12:20am On Dec 31, 2019 |
samintegrity: Same exact issue with my 05 accord.
Transmission won't shift pass 2nd gear, though still managing till am able to get a new one.
Now lately, it goes off just too frequently, sometimes when I put in reverse.
As a matter of fact, whenever I start in the morning to head out, it goes off like 4 times before it normalizes ..
Funny thing though happened yesterday,
I was driving, and the speedometer got to 40, it went off while I was on the main road oo showing the battery sign,
I put it off, tried to restart then no way, it didn't indicate the battery sign in dashboard, and also no light indicated on P as well.
I managed to pull over, left it and went for service.
Came back to it later in the evening, was able to get it to start again.
But then it went off like 3 times again.
So I start, put gear in 2 and fire all the way down to.my compound.
Observation: The driving belt was replaced abt 2 weeks ago but now losed, and its even half way on the power steering roll.
Observation 2 : the Rewire said the alternator doesn't charge as it shd, maybe due to bell
Any idea what the problem could be. Check the tension in the belt. Diagnose the charging system. |

autologic: Honda doesnt provide such pids ,beside the type of fuel pump design is not duty cycle type but pure direct 12v actuated by PCM via relay Diagnosis this type of issue will require scoping the current waveform of the fuel pump amperage draw for volume test and performing pressure test with appropriate pressure transducer, analysis of this test and amperage waveform will tell such precise story ,however this is beyond DIY but advance diagnosis . The pressure transducer, Is it sold here in Nigeria, one that can be interfaced with any kinda scope?? |
