Good morning, I jus changed my radiator from single to a new double cell due to leakage from the single cell radiator.
Thermostat is still intact and single fan inclusive(not connected directly) After driving the car on Saturday, Sunday morning I checked the water level in the radiator and saw the water is low, so I opened the coolant plastic and saw that the water there has overfilled more than the FULL level its meant to attain, which means that the excess of the water in the coolant plastic is meant to go back into the radiator when engine is cool and it didn't. Does that mean the car would likely overheat. Would love to hear your advise pls....When I called the mech, he said I would need to remove thermostat and connect far directly which am against.The car is a year old and it's a corolla 05 model..would love your inputs so as to take necessary precaution against the unforseen.

Bleed the system well, and change your radiator cap

OP my best advise is go with what you love and have passion for, ensure you have a good mechanic that does not throw parts, get a mech that will find the problem of a car before repairing. Lastly anyone your mind go with, ensure you go with a tech that will scrutinise the vehicle well.

please I have a problem with my opel astra h 2004, the car starts and idle fine, but it doesn't revv, no matter how hard i press down d throttle. rewire said it could be be throttle body (mouth) or the brainbox. After some checks, he said it is the brainbox, the car uses an electric throttle (throttleless). car shows no check engine light, it has been scanned and nothings shows up...
The rewire advised the following.
1. brainbox change
2. complete engine change with brainbox and
manual throttle
3. comvert electric throttle to manual and change brainbox.

I don't know what to do right now, car doesn't rev at all, so it can't move, help!

Due to the kind of weather this days I'll say you should avoid the c class, I fixed about 3 of them all of them had same issues, they entered water and they stopped working. It's a very good car, but situation of Nigerian road and the weather might not let you enjoy the car.
ZDX is a good choice if you want a little bit of SUV feeling.
As for the Lexus, the Es will be a nice choice.
Most important of all, pls go with a competent tech if you are ready. It's very important. I'm very much available if you don't have any.

Madame, my advice is whatever you settle for either Nigerian used or toks, pls go with a competent tech, to help you check the car thoroughly, because if you buy lemon mechanic go chop you well well. Speaking from experience as an auto tech

Yea I have. The codes are pointing to oxygen sensor and vehicle speed sensor. I scanned the sbc and the only fault recorded was driver side wheel speed sensor which was replaced. May be I will rescan and revert. Thanks.

From experience working with Benz, after fixing faults you are suppose to clear the fault off the memory, before problem disappears. If not problem will still be there as if you've never fixed it.

I have been having a hard time with my 2007 kia rio 1.6 for some months now. It idles roughly and sometimes revvs itself up to 40 hundred RPM even on motion. When on motion, it can start fluctuating between 1500 and 2000RPM, sometimes revv up to 3000 and 4000RPM by itself. It is also affecting the brake response.

OBD scan pointed to TPS, MAP sensors and IACV (high). Got new TPS and MAP sensors for it and replaced the IACV with a used one even though removing the cable while engine was running indicated that IACV was fine. These sensors and valve could not even be gotten around me, had to get it sent down from Lagos so returning them isnt that easy.

Myself and my technician have checked for vacuum leaks round the intake manifold and other parts, none.

It really got worse yesterday and the car was really out of control while in motion. It revvs and accelerates and also decides to lose power and break pressure when it chooses.

Is it possible that both the previous and the used IACV are bad?

First congratulations, really happy for you, just have a good maintenance habit, always be attentive to it, always listen or check out for any irregularities or abnormalities, as early detection can save you and your car alot of money and stress, and use a good tech, don't let anyone do any direct connection or remove or add anything for you so that your car can work better, and stick to specifications. And you are good to go.
