For a normal car or start and stop technology?

Its for a normal car boss. Its a 2003 Ford Focus SE wagon. The old battery; a Maintenance Free Bosche S3 lasted me a little over 2 years. Seems it lasted a tad too short for me though.

Soldering? My mortal enemy..I really dunno why I cant get a soldering job right! It can't be my handwork 'cos my work routinely requires me to do much more intricate work with my hands.

Kudos though!

I have reached that feared point in the life of every motorist where my battery has decided to meet that Big Battery in the sky. grin

I will definitely have to buy another this week, but before that I would love to know which type of battery would most likely last longer-a maintenance free battery or one you have to top up now and then? What brand would be the best choice?

Thanks in advance!

It feels abrasive . A dirty potion peel off in the process. Yeah it's a windstar and running smoothly. Maintenance is the key my brother

Great to know! Well, seems your headlights have oxidized from the outside-fortunately. If toothpaste doesn't work you can try out the more expensive specialized stuff -like what Gazzuzz recommended. It may or may not work though. Good luck!

Pepsodent is not working oooooo

hmm...how does the headlight feel to touch? if it feels slightly abrasive, another toothpaste should work but if it feels pretty smooth, it most likely an internal problem.

P.S :is that a Ford windstar? I'm really fond of those vans for some reason. Hope yours is treating ypu well?
Car Talk / Re: Headlights And Toothpaste Trick by billy187(m): 6:10am On May 29, 2015
Hmmm..pepsodent should have done the trick.Maybe your headlights are oxidated on the inside? Try posting some pics here.

Car Talk / Re: Top 10 Stock Sleepers (you’re Better Off Leaving Alone) + PICS by billy187(m): 12:05pm On May 25, 2015
benzmatic:
My favourite sleeper of all time would be the mb 190 2.5 16. Produced in the late 1980s, it could generate 205hp, and had a 7s 0 - 60mph time. there was no turbo in the engine, just bigger cylinder, and mechanical valve lifters. on the highway it looked like your typical 190, even the spoilers were modest. u could only start to suspect when the 'baby benz' started to grow larger and larger in the rearview mkrror of your overpriced cosmetically endowed sedan.

I think I totally saw this car yesterday!

It first passed me by so fast I didnt really notice-but then i caught up at a tollbooth and noticed the 'unusual' ground effects and the spoiler. The rainy weather, coupled with my inherent inability to combine phone usage with driving kept me from taking a pic.

For all I know it might be a fake but then I do hope I meet it again on the highway.

Nice Article! But then, you can just ditch the car and use your 2 God-given appendages when doing something as mundane as buying a newspaper.

Heck, you could also go for a bike, if your routes aren't too long.......

Wait, what? You'd rather use your V8 toyota landcruiser 'cos everyone will look down on you and your bike-riding butt? My bad! grin

Nice writeup OP! Contact lenses are optical tools that do not tolerate shortcuts-I've seen folks that used 'pure' sachet water to soak their lenses and it wasn't pretty!

I'd advice: if you frankly can't handle the extra resonsibilities and costs that go with contacts, just get specs. (you could alway tint a set and look pretty cool!! grin)

Thank God no life was lost. But come to think of it,why did passenger airbag not inflated? Despite passenger side was hard hit and this car is a new car.
May God help us from this Chinese /Japanese cars

Newer cars don't activate the passenger airbag unless a passenger sits there.

I Hope the dude was comprehensively insured though

The sun no be Joke...

My pilot gives me 18mpg...
Infact i gt more mpg in accra Than lagos
I dont know why....

If urs is a 2.0l engine as u say u shud get at least 24-25
...
But i dont believe Default mpg figures its actually different in real life

They are almost always different in real life but then the grade of petrol sold in Ghana is higher than that in Nigeria, for some reason.

hmmm...to think you get roughly the same mpg in your Pilot i get in my Focus? I'd be better off with a larger, non-tropicalized vehicle!

Would you guys just Fucking explain where you have a divergent view as regards the topic instead of behaving as if you know all. Give differing views and move on. Nigerians and show off. It's not like you have any superior ideas or anything except the deluded notion that your idea is higher. Mstwhew

I dont see anything wrong with asking for the source of Op's info. If I said your car run better on rat farts than on petrol, won't you ask for my source?

The worst route in Ph.
Eliohani-Rumunduru-Eneka,abandoned and forgotten by RVSG.

Hmmm...might need some stronger aftermarket springs...the wheel travel might be too hard on the OEM ones-especially if you're the type that charges through the tough stuff.

Lol you are saying 18mpg is actually worse

when my chevrolet venture with 3.4L V6 gives me 13-15 mpg
it had zero codes. engines run fresh , thermostat intact and no illegal connection
i have packed the ride for lik 7months now , it think the ecu is bad, wont crank.

my dodge srt8(sold) says 13 city / 19 highway from manufacturer .
but i gt like 11mpg city and 15 highway

..
my pilot gives the best mpg.
currently in accra self.. the sun one kill me

Heheee...da sun kill me finishgrin

Waaaoww...13-15 mpg? thats full-size pickup and suv territory. As for your SRT im not suprised 'cos its mandatory to drive that car with the pedal to the metal! grin

Anyways, for an econosedan with a 2.0. engine like my Focus, i kinda expect much better than 18mpg....maybe 24? What does ur Pilot get?
