If he dared venture onto that zebra crossing during a rush hour, he would've been merged with an articulator's grille before he can say 'BUHARI.' |
victorazy:Interesting, any link from CNN? Its true there were some unintended acceleration problems a couple of years ago but then, what car make hasn't gone through a bumpy patch? That doesn't make them the worst cars on the road. On the contrary, Lexuses happen to be the safest vehicles on the road- just google for yourself. Heck, one of its models, the RX 350 in its present form has caused absolutely no fatalities in the US! |
Could've been worse......at least he didn't buy a 2 week vacation in the Sambisa forest; heck, his cash didn't even end up in the account of some 'Nigerian Prince' somewhere! He should enjoy his bus. |
vodutive:It's definitely a replica....how else could those awful wing mirrors end up on a Lamborghini. Besides the window line is way too high. |
yourboyWill:Nope, unless I find myself in a setting where lack of network coverage would render a typical GSM/CDMA phone is utterly useless. |
yourboyWill:You do realize that's no ordinary phone, right? |
Well, cars are definitely better nowadays, despite whatever any nostalgia mongering fellow may say. Yes, older cars were made with a little more 'taste' as manufacturers were a little more ambitious then. but then today's cars are much safer and can do so much more with so little. Even the 'flimsiness' people associate with todays cars with is quite essential- those 'crumple' zones keep occupants from merging into the car's upholstery during a crash. |
Fogman:Right on! That engine was probably made after a few bottles of potent gin. |
Well, that means he's gonna have to keep his phone, even when it becomes as how Nokia 3310s are today. Not a very good deal. |
This episode would have been exponentially scarier if you were cruising on the highway. Are there any warning signs that precede this? |
SweetyZinta:Next time she'd probably stencil it onto your back while you're asleep! ![]() |
Was the car owned by a family of rabied bears drunk on caffeine and amphetamine ? How can a car's interior get that bad?! If the car's visible parts are this bad, I can only assume the worst for whatever's left under the hood... ...And to think the owner had the cheek to sell for almost a $1000 dollars! ![]() |
I think I agree with only point 3. 200000 miles today is almost nothing, unless your car has a history of crappiness. |
Why do all these three wheelers shown on car talk seem to be some variant of VW Passat? What properties do Passats have that makes this possible? |
Nice write-up @op but I don't think overspeeding can be reduced with a slower car- I can't count the number of times some rogue corolla or yaris passed me doing blistering speeds on the highway The funny thing though is it's almost not worthwhile- some tractor trailer convoy doing approximately 50kmph always seems to pop up at this point. |
That's the side profile of a Porsche 928 |
That's marriage material right there......... Ha, no........a lady with such a temper would leave your face looking like thick bitterleaf soup after every quarrel, should you marry her. I think the fellow escaped a bullet here. |
ireneony:Your manhood doesn't necessarily respond to each fine lady you come across- if that were the case, any dash into 'town' would cumulate in pretty awkward moments! ![]() |
I'd sharply go for 3- then sell it. The secondhand value might likely be enough to buy all the others with change to spare, that's if it's actually a working concept, not some doodle by a teenager in his bedroom. |
Considering the fact that you're already sharing body parts, you might as well share your lives- besides, odds are that your kids would make good donors too, should your present kidney go kaput. But then that's just me being a troll. ![]() |
Hate to be the wet blanket here, but this Innoson looks terribly similiar to another Chinese G-wagon clone, the BAIC BJ80C...pics of that car below..
|
Wow, thank God your ride's banger ain't interference - that would have made things much, much more scary. I'd say go all out and order a brand new one though with a water pump from the Toyota dealership or any other legit source - those ones in the open market just won't cut it. I'm getting to 200000miles on my old lady too- I'd be ordering the belt and pump very soon. By the way @ Gazzuzz, kingreign, Siena et al, is the engine of my '03 Focus interference or non- interference? It has the 2.0 zetec. ( sorry for the derail @ OP ) |
kunle75:On a lighter, (rather derailing) note, the color of your rav4 is AWESOME. Any idea of the name or code of color used? |
Frankly, I think this episode is as the result of mistakes made by both client and mechanic - things might have not degenerated to this if a few things were done differently. As Denn pointed out, no mention of a scan was made. This could have put things in a pretty specific direction- despite the overall state of disrepair of Mr.Joseph's Hyundai. Also I feel Sooperrescue must have been a little too vague with regards to the quotes he mentioned to the client. Finally, the very fact that the client didn't actually have his car fixed kinda justifies the reduced labor costs- which also might be related to the lapses in diagnosis Mr.Joseph I also feel wasn't the best of clients either. Limiting the time space for work on his car adversely affected the quality of workmanship. This is why we almost always ignore the 'clients' demands for hastiness in my area of expertise (I'm in the health sector, by the way). Among the myriad of procedures, its often a single test that determines whether I put the patient on the road to recovery or the road to a severe complication- or even death. Its in this vein that I believe you should never, ever rush your mechanic. Also, according to sooperrescue's account It seems the client's car must've one too many issues due to poor maintenance which might or might not have contributed to his predicament. I think he (the mechanic) did well to attempt to remedy these issues, though the motive and implications should have been vividly made known to the client. Finally, I think it was really under-the-belt of Mr.Sooperrescue's to respond to these accusations with a personal attack on Mr.Joseph. C'mon, dissing his car, really? He might have really pissed you off, but then as a businessman that depends on clients to maintain his business, I think more matured responses would've not been out of place. |
Imagine, $40000 dollars could easily get you a loaded brand new car ( no, not the second hand merchandise that's so popular on the roads today). Heck, it could put up a decent building in some parts! Oh well, to each his own. |
Never say never, folks. |
Tallesty1:I've always wanted to know how the internals of these infinixs tecnos etc etc are but as I'm not much of an MTK fan, I've not gotten my hands on any yet. If it's not too much of a bother please do well to make a thread or something on this topic. Thanks! |
Siena:This is the most evil phrase I've read on Nairaland all day - and I'm just from the politics section! |
Wow, just look at the detail on that finish! This guy really went all out on his restore! Is there any story behind it? If yes, please do well to share! |
Mind blown!!!! The only ones I know are 4, 6 and 11 After reading this article, a lot of Nigerians will be porting to Turkmenistan. ![]() |
