Naija trucks don't seem to like staying upright....... ........but that's none of my business ![]() |
Naija trucks don't seem to like staying upright....... ........but that's none of my business ![]() |
Themaingate:Very true! As a non-nigerian, I have been wondering why gruesome accidents are so rampant in Nigeria -until now. From the earlier posts of this thread, apathy is clearly evident despite the hazards "screaming" through the pictures!!. ![]() If that truck dare hit the road in the US, the driver would be pulled over before he could hit second gear! From my experience, Nigerians happen to be some of the most intelligent and hardworking people to associate with.....please don't kill yourselves with apathy. |
ARRGGHHH........MY EYES!!!!! (it looks like a rolls kit on an early '90s Nissan Patrol ( the Y60) though) |
kingreign:50m oo boss.....cant take risks ![]() |
Denn:I recieve it!! ***raises hands ![]() |
Hmmmm...the engine bay actually looks neat ooo-It may just work. But I wont touch that car with a 10 foot pole; heck , not even mtn tower sef. A relative swapped the engine of his Explorer to that of a Hardbody a while back...(said it drunk fuel pass whale ).within 2 years he's been through 3 engines and he shares the car with his mechanic-seriouslyoo, the mech keeps his driving license in the car!! ![]() So yeah, I'd stay away. |
I'd avoid the rav4, unless its certified. ( good luck figuring that on the nigerian market) Why? Those years are plagued with a ecu problem that affects the trans. I also wonder why the hell a 2005 toyota corolla is on your list! its almost a lateral move from your Accord in terms of features and drive quality. I would go for the elantra or '07 accord (toss a coin, perhaps?) ![]() But hey, dont go for a car just 'cos your friends recommend it....take a day off and wander the dealerships all over....find the car that clicks with your soul and bring her home..you will definetly not regret it! ![]() |
Haha..good question-its the same here in Ghana! I took my car for a wash quite a while ago and asked for a wax. The fellow, after musing on what the hell I meant, picked up a bucket of soapy water and looked at me, expecting some sort of '''aha, ya.''' After the wash, I took my car back home: defeated. I used to wax my old car, a Suburban- till I could see my hideous face looking back at me through the metal work . That was a almost a day's worth of muscle straining work, considering the sheer size of the truck. But I just cant make myself polish my much tinier present car. Laziness, abi? |
$18500? thats the msrp for a couple of new cars in the US! If your stereotype is true Op ..I must sadly admit Nigerian girls are terribly shortsighted....Some while back I came across a black merc 200 polished to perfection-if it weren't for the ash indicator lights and the fact i'm in Ghana, I would have mistakened it for denn 's (lol!) Folks passing by couldn't help but stop and stare at the beauty....I thought, 'here is a guy that attracts so many ladies it actually makes him angry!' ![]() |
kingreign:Doing great my boss...my greetings to him ![]() |
It looks like those cars Naija universities make every now and then ![]() |
How do they possibly manage to make it look THAT bad?! My present commuter is like 3 times as older and doesn't 1/50 as bad. They must hve been organizing demolition derbies or something. |
Interesting one there Op...how much was she? It might be quite feasible to undertake such a project in naija, as labour costs will be low. .On the other hand, the electronics on that recent model car will definitely be a handful...I really wanna see how things pan out. following sharply |
sultaan:Good question...i also wonder how many lives will be lost in it after they put it back together through "ways and means." |
one of them must be 'gifted' in width and weight.. else adonblveit! ![]() |
lomomike:Salt on filter paper?...now that's genius!! |
lomomike:Not even the smell of vinegar? Did you use white vinegar |
I guess the crown is drifting from Asia to Europe...just like how it abandoned the US a while ago. |
lomomike:It reacts with the ammonia in urine to get rid of the terrible smell. I earlier used baking soda to absorb the moisture from the seat as much as possible. It was very effective though |
Nice one there! Was forced to do a similiar cleanout a month ago after my dumb dog peed in the car. After drowning the car in vinegar; i scrubbed down like a charismatic pastor attacking an 'evil spirit!' Needless to say-my car still smells like vinegar. |
Beemers make mighty fine driving machines....unlike the sterotype, they can be quite reliable too-in the right hands. However, at my side of the world, the mentality is that BMW owners are douchebags. |
To think my crappy (and late) china phone had 20 times internal memory! Wow... |
obstead200:One may say you're paranoid but that's a great practice! I remember back in High Sch a friend told me a ghastly story of how his neighbour fatally ran over his kid while backing out of his driveway. Decades later I still have shivers up my spine anytime I remember - even though my job requires i see such gruel on a routine basis! I've definitely not had a kid in my wheel - thank God! However a dog got stuck in the wheel well of my older car, a Suburban. Should i have moved even a bit things would have gone south, fast! |
lomomike:I should think so....but then i'm refering to the 4 speed available in lower versions of the corolla. |
My brain imploded comprehending this.... |
That's a pity-i really liked this generation though. However, what I don't get is why the hell Toyota would have the balls to put a 4speed automatic in a corolla; a 2014 model?! That's more at home in my '03 ford focus!!! ![]() |
I really didnt like the touch centric setup of Windows 8-so i didnt buy an upgrade from Windows 7. Ive booked my copy of Windowss 10 though. My main worries are my files and programs. ....including a whole lot of games some of which i've had since the 1990s. Will they survive the transition? |
Darn! Belated already? Anyways happy birthday bro! Take this one....
|
Pictures or adonblivit!! ![]() |
I have never really owned a v6- my present car is an I4 ; i used to own a V8 as well. If fuel is not a factor worth considering i'd go for more cylinders (v6 ,etc) over an I4 because of the refinement it gives you. That notwithstanding I do hear recent model V6s like the camry get mpgs in the 20s ;which is pretty decent in my opinion |
Stopped for wearing a cap? A faded 'E' number plate? And they ask for former owner's documents? Nawa for naija polis oooo.... Here in Ghana, the police do love to have their pockets moistened once in a while-but not that badly! |
