Was accused by my neighbour that I stole her phone because I was receiving a call close to her parked car, I was having an argument with my ex then so I didn't bother noticing her car beside me, omo next thing people said I was the one they saw Last beside her car before I could say Jack police Don show carry me go station, my late mom was just crying because she could not believe a neighbour we have know for a long time could say such. So after much questioning they agreed to let me go on the grounds that her husband told her he will get her a new one and not that they believed I didn't steal the phone mind you both parents of the girl were present and didn't do shit even her younger brother that we both attened same school left me for dead. 4days letter a mechanic on the street told my mom that the phone had been seen that she forgot it in the bank and they had called her to come collect the phone,he knew this because she received the call close to a shop where he was relaxing. The family, the girl didn't come back to apologise until my late mom went to confront them and the father confirmed that it was true that they had seen the phone. We were advised to get a lawyer to sue them but I told my mom to let it go and let's move forward, we didnt speak to the family anymore till we left the house, if I see the girl been robbed, beaten, or in pains in any way I have promised my self to look the other way. I would have been jailed for something I knew nothing about. That's it guys ✌️

After the night in police cell they found the phone under the chairs during cleaning.

It Was a terrible experience.
Immediately after the covid-19 lockdown.resumed back to the office and a colleague raise alarm of lost phone. Searched everyone and everywhere. Phone no show. Next thing I'll hear, i was accused. Her reason being that "i wasn't seriously helping her do the searching the way she wanted". Thought it was a joke until evening when the husband called and told me to either bring the phone or tell him where to meet. Long story short. I had to involve the police before the matter rest o. But the depression/shame wasn't easy even till now.when ever i remember,i always pray to God to expose the thief so i can act the way i would have wanted to..

Had a similar experience in Uni. A friend lost his phone and the suspect is also a friend. That was his I got accused of aiding and a betting theft. Nobody said it to my face, but their body language was enough proof. They felt the friend of a thief is also a thief.

What hurt me more was that most of those peddling rumours about me were my friends, or so I thought. I still don't talk to them. It's been over 6 years now and I still don't talk to them. They tried to reach out to me, not to apologize but to become my friends again. I jejely blocked them on all social media platforms. We can not be friends if you don't trust me.
