Ask @ladyguinivere or check her recent posts, she answered this type of question in detail

Abefeokin:
Hello house, just this one pls, so I filled in that I don't know anyone in the US in my application(which was true) now I'm going for a missionary journey in a different state and someone wants to host me, should I tell them @ POE that I'm going to the person's place or just book a temporary apartment jeje? Thanks huh
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 3 by biollar1: 3:28pm On Jan 31, 2016
That's not fair!

Why didn't you pay? It's not even mandatory to give birth for obudo oyinbo....u could have waited till u can. Even if u decided to do it in bits!! And to think u wanna go back to repeat same is just pure undiluted wickedness. No wonder dis pple begin scrutinize upandan.

I think u should meet the gurus and pray. Let ur mind and conscience guide u all the way.

All the best.

My Fellow missionaries, its been a while, trying to settle down after my 2 months missionary journey. Here is my transcript.

Travelled via BA Nov 23rd, Houston POE was a breeze. Honesty pays o, as i declared Child birth during visa interview. Had my doctor's correspondence, Cash, debit cards etc for POE hence all CBP officers were friendly even at secondary inspection. I rem him saying its not a críme to birth here, all We are after is declaration and preparedness.

My wonderful Doc E cared for My prenatals and took delivery of my son vía CS at Oakbend Medical on Dec 23rd. My mum was surprised i was up d Next day considering my experience with my First daughter. All Baby documentation were out in récord time. I had a good time and wont mind doing It again. I left for Naija 24th Jan with my Prince and Mum vía BA

Thanks for your understanding.

@Cuteless I'm interested in this post of urs. Thing is I don't really understand. Never flew Luftansa and United before. I know United POE is Houston, which is for Luftansa? I also want cheap tickets too for May.

Thanks

cutelass:
Are u particular about BA? And it's transit and not direct flight. If u are not particular about BA, why not book united...u can even get less than 250k. The good thing is that ur 'going' is handled by their partner lufthansa just incase u wanna avoid houston poe. Return u flyunited through houston which gives baby same baggage allowance as u. In the end its a win-win. The ticket is valid for 3 months as against the normal 1 yr...so u can't decide to reschedule for Aug or say Dec. That's the only drawback else u can add infant ticket, adjust return date etc. Call united office direct if u cant go to their office. Google for their no (call the gsm nos, the landline doesn't work)...don't wanna drop it here before dem go remove the post.

Travelling....
I tried explaining to her that am not in labour, just that my tummy feels hard and my legs still swollen...but her conclusion was PREMATURE LABOUR!...Anyways, I turned to the one who gave her to me, the one who will never make my TESTIMONIES incomplete, the one whose words will never go unfulfilled... HE says I WILL NEVER CAST MY YOUNG!!.

Hubby and I became comfused, my ticket was originally for today, but he never wanted me to go again...so I told him "Even if lo is going to come prematurely, not here...(we lost his friends son on the naming day due to premature delivery...as a result of DOCTOR'S ASSUMPTIONS). Hubby's thoughts were just to save His wife and child...we were really confused!!

We later changed my travel date to the following day!!....my bag wasn't searched and my food stuff including Yam and Palm oil escaped, to the glory of God, I traveled on Lufthansa, ABV-Frankfurt-Dallas!...with NO ITCH AT ALL!. Except for my usual swollen legs which gets me a little uncomfortable on the second leg, and Lufthansa crew were the best....I was upgraded from Premium Economy to BUSSINESS CABIN grin, gave me like 4pillows to raise my legs, 2 to support my back and yours truely Slept like a baby on board...and my legs went down...

POE
I arrived Frankfurt, had to wait almost 2hrs for wheelchair, was not impressed there sha. Fast forward to Dallas, wheelchairs already waiting in a looking queue, was wheeled to a CBP...

CBP: Hello madam, can I have your passport
Me: Hi...gave him with my Landing card
CPB: I can see you're here for delivery
Me: Yes Sir
CBP: sure you have a doctor by now.
Me: Yes I do have a doctor and a midwife, as I'll also love to experience water birth, so am still weighing my options.
CBP: We give the best care in this part of the world, so am sure you'll enjoy the care...so who's Paying for this
Me: My husband, to join me before the birth
Scanned my fingers and took me to secondary inspection... The officer called my name and asked where am going to stay as its dangerous to stay alone at this period, told him an hotelhotel (which we booked overnight), couldn't even print out, but had my phone ready to show them in my mail, and for the baby's arrival I have been talking to a midwife who is getting me a Nanny and I have our conversations here(gave him my email correspondence with a midwife in Rockwell, Dallas.
He then went Inside for like 7minutes, was seriously praying in tongues, because my words were Incoherent, cos I was really confused.

1-I was supposed to go to Houston, have docs appointment, and prolly enough cash to show, but found myself with hotel booking in Dallas, could only produce a midwife's correspondence, and with just 3400$ which is all we could get from BDC on my departure day....in a nutshell, God was really waiting for me here.
Later to Agriculture cos I declared just my dry foods, but they ceased my Yam...my yam wey don enter America already cry but my palm oil escaped. grin

Note:...am yet to see a doctor, LO is kicking fabulously well, i am doing great, but jetlagged I've not even rested well since I came cos I need to shop for me and Lo, trying to rest though.
So much appreciate this forum...in a way, you gave me the gutt to do this... grin waiting patiently for lo's arrival...if she likes let her come tomorrow sef... grin grin

Unless u are particular abt flying direct...Airfrance, klm, lufthansa is under 300k. BA is abt same price as d delta promo price
I actually don't know anything their POEs, I only know that Delta is Atl and United is Houston. Last I travelled was thru Emirates and that was because we spent some days in Dubai before heading to Orlando.

I can't go thru 7hrs plus 15hrs at once thru Emirates at 35weeks dou I read a page in part 2 about Dubaiconnect (don't know what that means too)

Flew Air France once to the Uk, dont know about USA, can u pls throw more light? Hour many hrs in all for each airline and their POEs, if u can't ... I'll understand, will just look it up.

Thanks a lot dear.

Hello All

I need una opinion and takes Biko.

I intend flying to Houston with hubby and 2 yr old son via Delta in May, called the airline to ask for cost and all and I got 318k for hubby, 318k for myself and 240k for my son.

I inquired about the infant we will be returning with and they gave a ridiculous amt of $400 and ticket has to be bought in the states.

Kindly air your takes on this, trying to avoid Houston POE so United is def not an option. Will also be traveling at 35weeks.

Also note the costs Delta gave is promo price that ends today (according to them). It returns to 380k for DH and I and 270k for my son from tomorrow.

Need tickets to scout for PTA....What do I do? sad

Glory be to God my princess arrived on Thursday afternoon at methodist hospital Sugarland. I had a nice experience with my doctor (Dr Amajoh) and all the nurses that attended to me during my stay at the hospital. They were all very nice and courteous. And I was given lots of freebies like diaper, wipes, girdle, sitz bath, diaper bag with storage bag, baby formula, baby clothes, towels , blankets, sanitary pad and pant etc.

Starting with baby documentation next week by God's grace.

Thanks a lot dear...u actually just cleared my doubts. God bless u.

LadyGuinivere:
Nobody answered u cos these questions get k leg.
1. For flight- u have to check everyday and night and via various search engines. Wakanow, skyscanner etc. Flash sales may pop up or u get a deal.
2. Best time to travel- also best known to u. If u pick a flight u need to know their preggie rules and decide. Again if u read back, ul see people travelling at different weeks and how they felt when they reached. I doubt folks will repost that again.
3. Notification of intent-any time u so desire as long as its before your travel date and u get a reply.
Tip; try using the search button. Type in key words like 'travelled at 34 weeks' or 'notification of intent'. In like 30 minutes ul get a general idea of answers to your questions

Sister no be soooo! The whole gist flowed from your disclosure that Dr F now asks for referral. If u have been reading the thread ul truly get the point. All these are info that are like san'san' all over the thread.
I agree sometyms the tone no de sweet, but (for u and future readers) take the message and leave the tone. The essence of asking people to research is to prevent the kinda fiasco @FTM posted and also for Doctor's to stop taking us for granted as in the MIHS saga.
Peace
Thanks and noted.
