Roland17:I hate that I missed this game. I really want to see how the Warriors do against teams with skilled and motivated PGs in the second half of the season. As good as Curry is at the 3pt line, half his 3pt shots comes from the opposing guard forgetting to disrupt his rhythm or body him the whole 24s. I am looking forward to tonights matchup vs Clips. My theory is the warriors look very mortal once you disrupt Curry, even if he scores 30+. It not only disrupts the warriors very fluid motion offense, it prevents the other four teammates from running back to setup on defense once Curry shoots. Lets see if CP3 can steal the ball enough to do this. |
joephemzyz:Its now 6 teams. playoffs start week 20. This is week 16, so 3 more weeks to go. let me flog Skywalker5 one last time, before he upgrades again ![]() |
Skywalker5:i am still not over losing gasol. It looked like another lazy Gasol season. I drop the guy and he turns into an all-star ![]() |
SIRcumalot:nooooo. not by any stretch. DH stepped up last playoff, but by no means the best performer. Ariza and the Bearded One affected those games much more. DH is a better than average center, and that is saying a lot for the hardest position in the league. But DH is definitely not a great center. There are post moves he SHOULD have in his arsenal right now that he still seems to be working on. My main concern is DH has hit a ceiling of his own choosing - his skill set has stayed the same last 2.5 seasons |
Donlittle:The problem with analytics aka moreyball, is that is cant measure heart, and DH has very little. As smart as Morey is, I think he has consistently shown himself to not be a good judge of player character. This appears to be his main weak point |
Skywalker5:you traded westbrook based on one week? lollll. btw I didnt know either until you asked me and I looked at the board. strangely, I only got to look at your trade this morning. Looks like just as I was evaluating it, it became invalid. I thought you had withdrawn it. Apparently your other trade went thru. I think you got a really good deal. You got CP3 for Westbrook, and then Kemba to round up the rebounds and points. Ellis is a yoyo and very likely to dissapoint you when you least expect it. Interesting to see how Luscious team plays out, especially if Ellis keeps it up Btw, your trading skills are scary. I would have taken that deal - it was exactly what I was looking for like 2 weeks back. Almost like you reading my mind |
BUTCHCASSIDY:they have some underg talent right there. I need to watch more of these young teams not going to the playoffs. The league is about to get even more crowded with talent |
joephemzyz:hehehehe....dis one. jus watch |
Skywalker5:yup. week 16 is feb 8 to feb 21 so you still have a chance ![]() |
we gon hand the warriors a loss tonite meehn ![]() |
10-6 is interesting. Essentially all are big men with really good fundamentals and great footwork. All freaks one way or the other, including Bird who looks like he should NOT know how to play in the NBA |
Donlittle:totally unexpected. Better record than last year, Porzingis appears to be coming into his own and looked like locker room chemistry was good. I didnt watch enough games to see if Fisher could coach - I assumed he'd be running some sort of triangle anyhow looks like coach tibs may be getting a shot at the knicks - I'm not sure how Melo will react to a defensive minded coach |
A40:my bad yall . anyhow im glad dirk remained dirk |
A40:shuo. lets see the top 10 na ![]() wait i just looked at 11-15. Oscar with no rings is ahead of kobe with 5 rings? |
Donlittle:was a clip at halftime during the mavs spurs game.he was a little irritated, but same cool dirk |
Eniitan, staying true to his name, deliberately writing his own story. I am impressed so far. |
Skywalker5:joephemzyz hol am! No allow make e go anywhere |
A40:And Kidd. Great defensive PG. Todays Nowitzki started in Avery's era. The Mavs were a fun 3 point team before him. Till today, they have defensive identity. Btw Dirk has never hit 2000 pts per 82 games since then. His MO is changed. I wish he'd force the issue in the paint more. Dirk went to two Finals without an All-star. Outplayed Wade, LeBron, Bosh. in the other his starting VMhmm. And Chandler. And Kidd. Barea too. And Sean Marion. But its an LBJ team so I know the blinders are on. But im sure you can spot another all star in there. Bonus points for spotting 2. He needs to STFU. Insecurity is such a biatch. Simple question them ask he replied with an unnecessary tirade. Of course you can't question his achievements but its a disgrace that he opted to disrespect a fellow professional.Kareem stirs up stuff when its not needed. And he does this often. Classy response from Dirk. Dont give yourself hypertension calling greats names. Dirk isnt. |
A40 and SIRcumalot una still dey on top this mata? abeg oooo |
wetin westbrook chop tonight ![]() |
Donlittle:I think thats kareems point - at his size and the number of years he has in the league, he should have had more, particularly offensive rebounds. The big man on the team racks up defensive rebounds. On mavs teams that have played small ball for years, defensive rebounds were the least Dirk should have done. He never affected the game in a way he could have (except for 2-3 years). And the one dude that could have helped him got fired. Dirk is bigger and stronger than he plays. Now Dirk toady is a lot tougher than when he first entered the league, but frankly, that euro style of play pops up way too much to summarize another way, Dirk is good, but boy, he could have been waaaaay much more |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUHIfOicCbU I believe this was the game 5 - funniest clip of the series. Avery was shaking . Beating the spurs in a playoff series those days was a miracle. If you find other clips of this series, you will be amazed at some of the things Dirk was doing, pretty much acting like a traditional power forward |
Donlittle:ry must be opinion wednesday ![]() im a dirk fan and what kareem said is true. Dirk's best 2-3 years in the NBA was when he mixed it up in the paint. This was mainly due to the new coach Avery Johnson constantly hounding him, forcing him to get offensive rebounds, dunk and use his size to defend. By year 2, I think Dirk soured on this, even though it was obvious the all round game was helping him and the team - you need to google up the video when the Mavs sent the Spurs home early. At that time, the spurs were much more dominant than they are now. What Avery did was stunning, even his own reaction was amusing. I think Mavs lost to the heat (wade and shaq) that year Carlisle would come in after Avery lost the locker room and win a championship based on what Avery built. But Dirk kept regressing to the point now where he is almost kinda like the old dirk. The one that used to love shooting threes with Steve Nash, val exel and co...boy they were fun in those days, but they never went anywhere. |
arresa:nice one |
Donlittle:they would have to give up too many pieces to make this work. in return they get a one dimensional player whose strength is already a team strength - scoring. I was hoping Durant would have morphed into a meaner tmac by now ![]() |
A40:He guarded Westbrook every 4th q, including game 4 when Westbrook was determined to bring em back. For those who remember, Wade switched to guarding Durant and literally out-physicalled him. The other end was Lebron-Westbrook. Westbrook thought he could blow past James (I did too) one on one and it never happened. LBJ checked him as far as the 3 point line! Leading JVG and a few other coaches to say back then LBJ could play all positions and guard all positions. Since when did 4-2 turn to sweep? O ga ooThey won 4 straight after losing first 2. Same difference. They were blinding hot. Imo till this day, Durant and westbrook regret that. That was their moment. They were never as deadly as that season. Now Warriors are the new young speedy team. Why e no guard Kawhi, Dirk and Steph na since they said he can guard any positionCoach's preference. Blatt could have done that last year, but it would make no sense on a shorthanded cavs with kyrie and love out. When the Heat played the spurs, Kawhi was not the threat he is now. But in the last 3 years he was with Heat, LBJ took on the best opposing player in crunch time. I still reiterate LeBron is only good at weak side blocks and help defense. One on one he gets torched and frequently tooReiterate all you want, you have no leg to stand on. Experts are knocking LBJ for all kinds of things. You are the first person to bring up defense. Anybody can get torched. Question is, how often is he making stops or changing plays based on his defense? That one is easy - just watch any cavs game |
A40:The guy that shut down a hot westbrook (PG) one-on-one in the nba finals, the year thunder swept even the spurs? And guards the best player on the opposing team come playoffs? lol. obviously you have superior knowledge to spoelstra and riley. I hail ooooo |
gottliebglobal:A little too late for that. Summer of $100 oil is over, winter is here. Even if we recover the bulk of looted funds, the damage is done already. I can only hope the money is plowed into capital projects that can generate returns to pay back the loans. At the same time, if this is the opportunity we need to pull down structures that cannot self-sustain themselves, so be it. If all your state does is collect monthly federal allocation, you need to feel the pinch. |
arresa:see handwriting like farmer ![]() |
Skywalker5:lol |
I wouldnt worry about it. If his mission is God-sent, they just promoted him. |
Skywalker5:the cavs finally looked like they had a sensible rotation. Probably confused the spurs because its different - several times the spurs had a big lineup against the cavs smalls and got lit up. And I kneeeew you would take monta ellis off waivers. May he "bless" you as he blessed me ![]() |
