Hi Guys,

Please can someone help list out the docs I need to take for my travel? Just double checking to confirm I have all I need. I see something about eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization), is this the same as the ArriveCAN?

My flight is tomorrow.

I would really appreciate.

Thank you.

Hi Guys,

I just got this mail from VFS (after several other mails) :

The decision envelope for your application, tracking ID No. Bleep has been received from the IRCC Office on 1/13/2021 11:13:07 AM at the Canada Visa Application Centre, Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja and is ready for collection.

The decision envelope for your application, tracking ID No. xxxx has been collected from the Canada Visa Application Centre, Canada Visa Application Centre, Abuja on 1/13/2021 11:17:17 AM.

Does this mean the package is now with DHL(I paid for 2-way courier)?

Thank you.

Thank you very much.

Urgently, Can someone please help me with what part of the consent form I need to fill

olasubomy:

Hi Bisola,

The documents to give DHL are:

* Original International Passport
* 2 Copies of the VFS consent form
* Copy of your Biometric acknowldgement slip.
* A copy of the Passport Request Letter from IRCC
* Evidence of payment of the Transmission fee ( This should be paid if you want to use VFS Abuja and your biometrics was not done in Abuja)
* An envelope which you would hand over to DHL . ( write clearly your full residential address, email and phone number and the address of VFS Abuja at the otherside)
* Pay for a two way courier ( so DHL will be giving you two waybill with tracking numbers, one for shipping to Abuja and the other for return courier to your residence in Lagos),
* Being an important document, you can pay for insurance with the courier fee.

I would recommend you send to VFS Abuja, they are faster than Lagos.

Congrats!!!

Thank you.

Is this what the biometric slip looks like?

Also during passport collection from Dhl, is there anything else I’d need to give to dhl?

lentomac:

You are welcome

About a 2nd Time applicant not having that yellow slip, I have no idea on that

Gurus & members who are 2nd time applicants would be able to help you on that

It’s honestly very unpredictable this days.
Even a December applicant already got approved.

OtunbaTee:
I am still surprised at how IRCC works though...there's no definite pattern. I think the aim is to find myself in that office and cause a change. You shouldn't keep someone that applied in March 2020 and answer July, or June for February n vis-a-vis...this waiting is soul draining...
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by bisolaemilia(f): 12:28pm On Jan 07, 2021
Yes, I waited until the whole new year break ( This Monday) to send an email to several IRCC email addresses and web forms too.

foje:
Good morning house and thanks for all the support. Pls I just did upfront medicals yesterday. I was given a form, I believe this is what I should upload. Pls where would I upload this form? Also I had a high blood pressure, would this affect?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by bisolaemilia(f): 12:27pm On Jan 07, 2021
Your question doesn’t sound stupid at all.

Yes, you can definitely do an upfront medical.

It doesn’t guarantee approval but it does help fast track your application. Like if you are going to get approval, you get a passport request straight instead of a medical request

toller:

Congratulations.
I just submitted my application December, and I got a mail saying I'm Eligible for NSE Nigeria Student Express. To get faster processing.
My question is based on ; upfront medical.
Would you get a notification to go for this?
Or you can go do it yourself.
I'm sorry if my question sounds stupid,I'm new to all of this.

Oh I see, that’s clear. Thank you!

I see a yellow biometric slip on the requirement.

It’s a second time application and I am not sure I have any slip for biometrics since I did biometric in my previous application.

What do I do?

lentomac:

You are welcome,

Apart from what you see in the PPR letter by IRCC, VFS have their own additional requirements to process & send your passport to the Canadian Embassy in Nigeria for Stamping, so the consent form is mandatory

And in this form, you are to fill only the 2ND PAGE
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by bisolaemilia(f): 10:42am On Jan 07, 2021
Thank you so much for this.

About the consent form, why is that needed? I didn’t see that on my passport request letter

It just mentioned I send my passport and the passport request letter.

lentomac:

Congratulations on your approval

Big Congratulations! Please can you share all the email addresses you sent your upfront medical result to?

Popoolam:
To anyone that wants to give up, I am begging you not to. Believe me, I can understand the mental torture these applications can give someone.

I am so thankful, I just received my PPR. It feels like I am just breathing well for the first time in months.

I also received the NSE letter, but I submitted only the my Bank statement certificate. In the case of the IELTS, I forwarded them a letter explaining how it was not possible for me to do the exam and get a result before the timeline and attached a waiver letter/mail from my DLI. Please note that this was just my case and I’m not declaring it as Avenue to bypass the IELTS requirement but it is an option in an extreme case.

I got my upfront medical uploaded in a few days by bombarding any and all international IRCC mails I could find. I did this as well as the option of waiting for them to pick my web forms

I want to thank you all for the relevant information. God bless you

Now, onto the passport submission phase.
I would really appreciate any and all information I can get on this. The only thing I know at this point is avoid Lagos vfs.
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by bisolaemilia(f): 10:53pm On Dec 13, 2020
Loool, there’s no specific timeline.

Mine started since July 20th and it’s still on. Meanwhile it only lasted for a week for some people here.

So it honestly depends.

Popoolam:
Evening guys

Sorry, has anyone noted any timeline between when eligibility review starts and when a final decision is made?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by bisolaemilia(f): 11:40am On Dec 07, 2020
Makes a lot of sense to me

kelvine95:

I noticed they have not been sending medical request for some time now. Maybe they feel if you don't do upfront medical, it means you don't need to resume urgently. I would advice you book for an upfront medical and hope for the best.

Thanks a lot for your response.

Tired of waiting for a response since I submitted on the 17th of July.

Is there anyone who submitted in July without a feedback yet?

Frankrobbn1:

For upfront medical exam, you need to take along with you the following documents;

1. Original of your international passport.
2. Proof of payment for upfront medical exam

After the completion of your medical exam, you will be given an E-medical slip which bears your UMEI number. You will be required to send a copy of the E-medical slip via the IRCC webform, so that it will be uploaded in your application.

Q-life takes about 5 days to send your medical result to IRCC through the designated panel Physician platform.

It will end in praise

Hi Guys,

I am doing my upfront medical soon at Q-life.

Please what do I need to take there? Also is there anything I would have to send to IRCC after the medicals myself or it’s the clinic that would send to IRCC?

Also how long does it take for IRCC to evaluate the medical result?

Hello Guys,

I applied since 17th of July and I still don't have an update on my application yet.

However, I want to go ahead to book for my medicals to save time.

Someone please help me with links to book for medicals.
Can the medical results be used for more than one study permit application?

Thanks.

Hi Guys,

I am considering withdrawing my application before it comes in as a rejection. Its my second application and I applied in July.

Wouldn't want to get a second rejection, as I already have another admission that comes with funding.

Can some please help with the procedure for withdrawing the application?
