Politics › Re: Funny UNILAG/MAU Protest Poster On GEJ & Patience by bknight: 2:28pm On Jun 03, 2012
When a govt makes a moves that is perceived as bad idea, it is the right of d offended to protest.
For the same democracy u enjoy now, some ppl fought for it annd died for it. Its mediocre to rightfully disagree with something but fold ur hand and say "what if they arrest me, d oppressor is a prof, I dnt even have school cert". This is cowardice!

Nigeria enjoys reduced price from wat d govt declared because some brave and courageous ones gave up their comforts, took to d streets and protested and some died. If u can not protest a wrong, then u r not fit to enjoy any freedom whatsoever.
Some fought against slavery, while some cowardly slaves wld have "let's leave d white man alone, they will only kill us, they hv d power, they r better than us, we can not do anything" instead some fearlessly died, others protested. This is comradeship!
A mediocre somewhere wld have said fela was a foolish man for fighting a govt dat was richer, bigger than him and with resources available to disposal. But we see that every man has his own higher calling to achieve.

I have nothing for or against d name change but quit this mediocre way of thinking already. Fawehinmi fought for causes feeble minds cld not. Falana same. Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa achieved his own destiny. Now millions of his people r enjoying his sweat. All over d world, there are causes to be fought for. And men and women of worth and bravery fought for same and today millions enjoy d fruit of their struggle today.

Some fought FG for biafra. While brave men fought and their honorably against what they perceived as injustice, some myopic and mediocre farmer somewhere was cussing at d leaders because he lost his farm produce to d war. Whether dat d cause was right or wrong, their ppl still hail them as heroes who fought for what they believed.

I don't think it is right but I used to wonder: except there were other humans created same time as adam and eve, how did the world population get to this? Noah's ark had only noah and his relatives. If d flood destroyed d whole world, how did world population get to this? Lot's daughters? Infact d insanity of greek 'mythology' gives one an insight to how pervert dis world is if u cld open people mind to see wats in them.

While some cultures elsewhere intra-marry within family, I am not in support of this. Not being in support too doesn't not blind one to d fact dat such temptation is even more rampant than u'd have thot.

Op, a man without sense of caution and strong sense of reason over temptations will drift to ruin sooner. Cases like these should help you learn how to understand ur mind and learn to tame ur temptations.every man needs to learn these.

Even if she's tripping, it might be delusion to think she immediately expects ur friend to ask her into a relationship already when d total strangers just met yesterday? But from d story, he stands a good chance with her.

Don't be too sure/confident, since he doesn't know anything abt hern, let ur friend meet her at least once more for a drink, get to find out more abt themselves. He jst might find enough turn-offs to want nothing more than being friends undecided

-Snobs r usually empty.
-snobs r insecure
-Snobing is one of their own way of seeking attention.

Regardless d admiration I've got for her, she's poo d day I approach her and she snobs. There are other ways to turn me down. I don't feel bad, I can take dat first humilitation and act like I never even saw her but she can take it to d bank dat there won't be a 2nd time, its a total turn off!

btw, why is it those skinny ones dat snob most? undecided

Romance › Re: Marrying A Woman Who Can't Cook by bknight: 1:33pm On Jun 02, 2012
In my deepest thoughts, I think women are sacred. I mean they are very important and should be treated with respect. But, its not understandable to insinuate 21st century people/'civilized' are excused from being able to exhibit certain qualities necessary in my culture. The americans are lazy junk-eating types but in italy, good food is part of their culture. Women and men alike prefer home cooked food and drinks.

I am a very handy 'mr fix it' kinda person, I can spend d whole day fixing d micro, fridge, water or other things dat help d kitchen run smoothly. I cook well and won't be told to cook when its not convenient for her. But that she doesn't know how to cook? D kids will be looking forward to daddy's food and secretly begging him to cook? It jst doesn't sound cool.

I totally subscribe to division of labor. If I did everything else in d house + good bedroom, but d only thing she has to do is cook, and she doesn't know how to?
I'll ensure things she works with, so she better bring some sweet tasting substances from d darn kitchen, else we gonn having some issues there
Romance › Re: Marrying A Woman Who Can't Cook by bknight: 12:59pm On Jun 02, 2012
Fran asoan: The number one thing in marriage is companionship,,,so others are secondary,,,,,she can still learn how to cook in one of these catering schools,it is a matter of time and money and remember love is blind
What exactly does companionship entail? You might want to critically examine 'companionship'.

cowgurl: Is the way to a man's heart STILL the stomachhuh
Certainly hon, certainly! Add 'good cooking' to ur arsenal darl,& ur journey will be smoother -i assure u!

@ 21st century advocates who cannot cook: do you like food that taste good? Don't u think those dat sold 'civility' to you appreciate good cooks? Is it civilized to give people poo for food?
When u're in rome...when u r in africa, do as africans do!
Romance › Re: Marrying A Woman Who Can't Cook by bknight: 12:30pm On Jun 02, 2012
Can u marry a man that's not good in bed?

Yes, certain weaknesses can be and should be covered by love. But then again, certain qualities make love blossom. Its frustrating to eat food dats not well prepared everyday over and over.
There are certain attributes natural to ladies who have tendencies to be good wives, they are good at chores. A girl not being able to cook says a lot beyond 'not being able to cook'. One can deduce a lot from that, enough to shut love down. There are many reasons why people don't end up marrying who they love.

Its easy to say 'I can marry a girl dat cannot cook' until u r in dat dilemma, its misery. I can cook but I'm certainly not willing to enter into such marriage, not because of d food alone but because of d other warning signals associated with it -lazy, high cost of maintaining d home, obnoxious, low sense of responsibility (dis shld hv driven her to learn) etc. I don't need her to be d best cook in d universe, but not being able to fix d family edible meals will be a shame even d kids won't be happy abt.

In matters of marriage, love and reason should balance each other.

ayobams: I stopped over to have a drink very close to my house. As I was packing, my wife drove by and had this funny look on her face and went off. When I got home she asked me who I was going to her house? I didn't get it because it was a bar I was going to. She insisted that she saw me park and noticed I was looking at a woman who was driving into her compound who her kids came to open the gate for. It was then that I remembered that I saw one car and a woman in the car horning by her gate. I was not even near her nor was I even looking at her. I thought it was a joke until she flared up. I wondered. If I was with a girl would it be the woman who was just entering into her house opposite the bar? She claimed she saw me enter the house with the womann that was when I got pissed threw the food away. If she said she didn't like me drinking at the bar that's one thing. Why would you accuse me of entering with one random woman who was just entering her house. I was really angry and sad. I just couldn't imagine why she acted like that or what can you say? Honest response please
Go to the 'Family' section and 'create topic' there on d issue. Folks there will help. Cheers!

Due process.

If they can flaw this action on legal grounds, then without further ado, reverse the utterly rude authoritarian step.

After reading through so many threads about this renaming, I have come to realize those happy abt it seem to have a very personal grudge against the name 'Unilag'. Calling it names like 'Malu-lag' etc Like they feel inferior abt their school compared to Unilag. Jst saying undecided

For me, hange of name is not d problem. But d matter GEJ shocked everybody on new year'd day, now democracy day, u should all get ready for october 1st -another shocker to mark it.

He simply played his politics on those clamoring for june 12 to become democracy day and a national holidaay. He just tossed them dis bone to shut them up ahead of upcoming june 12.

How come d VC claims not to have been aware of the change. GEJ is indeed clueless, but its a litmus paper for those campaigning for june 12 as democracy day if they'd take d bait

Nigerians at home can say anything and all they want to say! But a set of people amuse me here. They are d valueless and very myopic bunch who work, sleep and wake up to cross leg in another man's land and without any sense of belonging saying they resent their country and utter things like they are not nigerians.
They are simply pathetic.
Nigeria is learning. Many ppl worshiping america has never wondered what had transpired in over 250yrs history of governance of dat country until they learned to conceal their corrupt practices (embezzlement, nepotism, ruthless businessmen etc). They had their own phase of corrupt politicians (even as we speak now), their own phase of power outages etc.

My problem with our leaders is dat they steal and eat with all 10 fingers. If they seriously put amenities in place but can't account for some. It may sound mediocre to allow them some 'biscuit' if d job is done well. But in dis case they don't do anything -they just gulp the whole thing, smiling.

To all of you reading this I salute ur courage as nigeirans cos even if we see things from different perspectives you must be concerned abt nigeria to be here viewing dis topic.

Today is a very emotional day for me. I re-dedicate my unwavering loyalty to my fatherland -where I belong cool LONG LIVE YOU AND I!
