Already in use and have seen some in Kadunna, they’ve been in use already but not in large quantities.
You can’t have that luxury of 100% freedom or 360 dgr’s view on a nuke. These is to lay down suppressive fire. And it’s not intended for the Northeast it’s only for the the North west/central where the threat is not that high.
Oga Bidexiii...
Thanks for adding more context to its use. I am still not fully convinced by it. They can reinforce the rear shocks per the extra weights. Plus I hope that GPMG doesn't tilt vertically.
I don't know how it is for a pillion passenger to be discharging ammo over my head as a rider.

Edit:
This is the closest system I have found for weapon on a motorcycle.

Some of these Primary 2 Mad Max contraptions from the army nowadays. undecided

By the way, what's the status of DICON collaboration with engineering faculties of some Nigerian universities?
Or how about Nigerians in diaspora, you can find and headhunt some via LinkedIn. Big plus for their cv while they put their brains to work for the nation.

Edit: The solar panel bike set up will not stand the rigours of battlefield and it that happens with Comms link severed, the results can be catastrophic.

What kind of shittty fooking talk is this??!
Country going to the dogs.

All these sort of news lately especially of fraud and corruption, they do know right that even local news are picked up by foreign embassies here and sent back to their home countries and used to build up a continued negative profile of how messed up/criminal minded our people and society is.

Everything and everyone is a thief, fraudster, 419er. From Magu to this despicable goat who had the guts to give this as a defence at court!

Just been hovering away and back to this thread not knowing what to say.

The NA hierarchy ain't worth shit and it shows in some of the lies they reel out to the media regarding battles they execute and casualties.

Seen far too many private companies get stuffed by government or army hierarchy change. If Proforce after investing significant sums could get iron clad agreements to supply the government, even better.

Great revenue stream too. Gabion walls, shoreline defences and so are some of the other uses.

Kinda ish I like!
Instead of going for $1 million 'Lamborghini' drones. Dicon should get serious and look for an OEM Chinese/Nigerian factory or get 'Hesco Gabion' machines, install them and start manufacturing this.
I already seen NA engineers with excavators.

This would save COUNTLESS LIVES.

Edit: loads of these machinery or OEM on Alibaba.

Lol.
Dude that complained about ATGM as overkill wants us to 'spam the battlefield' with drones carrying precise ammunition. Someone please make me understand how his brain works.

In this guy's utopia and as 'President of his Republic'. He shall soon start chasing two fleeing boko youths on a motorcycle with drones whilst spamming the firing button.

Biko, why is the quality of these drone videos posted by NAF so poor? I find it really hard to see anything.
It's just the sensor suite. Will probably upgrade if there's a lull in fighting. Don't know costs or how long to reinstall new upgrades though.

Look, drones are even more suitable for Coin...
Wing Loong 10-20 rockets? Lol. Go find out and come back. Alpha jets and co. carry a panoply of guided, unguided, gun pods and so. A drone's 400kg vs 2000kg+ fixed wing aircraft load out? Add that Turkey and China are going for hard power foreign policy until you drill down to statistics of some of their drones.

Let's invest significant sums into 'Tamborghini' because we can't afford Bugatti only for the former to break down in garages and sheds a year later.

Syria/Libya; go rewatch the types of assets they were taking out with their drones. Armour, anti air, SAMs, houses, etc not Boko boys running across fields.

Go watch Funker530 on YT and see real gritty combat against insurgents, CAS and tell me why UCAV pioneers aren't swarming the battlefield willy nilly.

Heck, NAF videos are clear as daylight showing why. Can drones execute attacks at close range, NOE flying, situational awareness or even the psychological impact of an aircraft thrusting back/forth on a battlefield?

My last take on this.

Chinese/turkish drones ain't expensive
We just too blind to get 'em
Yes, let's buy some $ million drones with tethering and reliability issues because we have' crude oil money'.

Nigeria is better off with MALE drones for reconnaissance and intelligence, a few more helicopters and fixed wing assets than payload restricted UCAV. Besides this is an insurgency not a conventional army like used in Syria or Libya. Great to take out one or two targets, then what happens next?

Strafing runs, multiple hits and so are required dealing with BH convoys. Not your one hit wonders.

Holistic mindset not throwing money at a target is what's required here.

Hammering on the bolded.....Can't we get Western style armed drones from Turkey or the other Arab Country(can't remember there name now) or even Israel?
Armed Turkish/Chinese drones are expensive misadventures. They work but down the line, they start cropping up with reliability issues and later grounded.

There's some trainer version 'Mugin UAVs' used for drone pilot training at the airforce. Wonder if short term solution of equipping with sensors/camera would achieve a better experience.

I could only hope Demfas is able to get more traction in the Nigerian sector. If based in or around Shenzen (tech capital of the world), best believe they'll have access to a lot of technological capabilities.

I just read Proforce have some form of partnership with Kraz trucks (Ukraine). Their 6x6 chassis is the base for some APC, military vehicles and a concept MRLS systems.
If these guys get favourable business conditions, I hope they will build more advanced hardwares.

One man cornered $800mil - $1 billion of your nation's wealth. That's about half to 2/3rd the price for the construction of the Lagos - Ibadan railway.

Multiply by the possible tens or dozens who have done same, y'all would have had effective train networks in every state.

Wow!
One of the few countries in the world where ATM withdrawals and money transfers are TAXED! They might as well tax oxygen we breathe in.

How about effective taxation on all conglomerates, multinationals who manage to pay as little as possible.

Then also make the environment conducive for more businesses to thrive so they could tax them?

Quick question folks, I read about French bases all around Nigeria especially in francophone countries around us, the question is, Why do the British not have similar bases in Africa or around the world like the Americans? is it that its not part of British foreign policy or is Britain no longer the power it once was? Your thoughts on this please.

Most of French West Africa are largely weak hence France is still ever present in their almost every aspects; from monetary (CFA) to security.
Britain has become insular to their colonies for a long time. That we are of course surrounded by French West Africa is down to us getting divvied up by France-Britain with the latter getting the most strategic WA countries(Nigeria/Ghana).

While we are no match militarily for France, I do not think any country would make a mistake to ever challenge Nigeria. Our population alone is a problem no external Government would be willing to destabilise. Nigeria should nevertheless have just the right 'stature' to be able to fend off internal/external threats and not overt arms race of SU34 or submarines to counter a colonial overlord.
Our biggest threat remains our massive population which without an economy that can sustain it can become the Biggest threat than French West Africa.

Our army is indeed overstretched. But that's down to the misuse of our policemen. I read a statistic early this week on Twitter that 20-40% of our police are assigned to VIP and other persons. Unfortunately, Nigeria has massive security issues hence Soldiers are drafted in to paper over cracks wherever there are hotspots.

If we had no oil wealth to sustain such significant numbers of army and soldiers, I shudder at what we'd have become.

Let me help him a little.
This Dell laptop comes with carbon fibre, quad core i5, 14 inch 1080p screen, light up keyboard, DDR4 memory, battery life of up to 8 hours, SSD, all packed into less than 2kg weight. I own one and literally boots up in less than a minute.

User experience is part of the reason they cost quite a bit.

Don't know how feasible this is, (Airforce forensics lab active?) can they do forensics on weapons captured on the battlefield.

Itemise the fingerprints on weapons/ied found into a database. Someday these guys would show up at IDP camps claiming civilians or all the way down in Lagos. One cross check and you'd be able to link them to their terrorist activities.

Since building a tank from scratch is highly expensive..Can't we just use the chinese strategy and do reverse engineering of maybe T-90 tank to make the same thing with a little bit difference like in the structure at a lower cost since the steel would be sourced locally and the labour cost would be cheaper.
China has a unique advantage that almost all the manufacturing processes (or very similar processes) on the planet are done in their country. Other countries struggle in knowing what machinery or otherwise to start from. Some components or similar materials may have been made in China at some point.

So, Reverse engineering is not straightforward, Takes many years also and significant funding. Some even fail.

If Nigeria want to RE, start with the T72/T55/Vickers. We still need engineers, lots of them.

LTGEN:

Points are valid:
Here’s the benefits of using a cheap base model
Unlike Brazil or what India did you are not starting from scratch let’s even call it a cheap knock off.
The benefits are you have taken care off difficult questions like weight vs armor thickness...
It could work theoretically, but...a fan of Nigerian policies and political sphere I'm not. Revoking contracts willy nilly is why some firms are suing the country. If you give Proforce a mandate where they commit funds, time and knowledge, then FG better commit to the end, else even me go follow sue the entire nation on their behalf. Lol.

Flash forward 20 YEARS
Nigeria is one of the few AFRICAN COUNTRIES that has a female HELICOPTER PILOT with more in the pipeline
how does this relate to the a Tank building process?
Human capacity
Basic Tank Technology has not changed much since 1945
TURRET
CANNON
SQUAT BODY : carrying 3/4 passengers
TRACKS +WHEEL
What has changed
Weight
ERA
FCS
Computer integrated systems
Types of shells
Where would NIGERIA start from
a Company like Proforce would:
1. Produce a monocoque tracked vehicle as a start using a base model of a T72
2. Using 3D/ CAD / Digital animation , produce on computer two different prototypes
3. Where would they get the Steel/ / Press moulding technology : Easy South Africa , India
4. Key is not to start from scratch - don't re-invent the wheel start with a base model with no bells and whistles
no sensors , manual loading and then move from there prototypes 1- 5 see what works and what doesn't
5. Follow the blue print of the NN They started with the NN Andoni they are on the SDB3 The Navy can tell you the process.
6. Get funding for research from the FG
I hope I could be proven wrong. Just the finance/complexity are a tall order. The financial backing required would have to be ironclad without the penchant for government or their successors to starve, delay or pull the plug. They'll lose momentum, increase costs and probably piss people involved to leave.

Building a tank cost a Brazilian company to go bankrupt and the Indian tank has been beset by huge problems. Turkey has 1, but it's also the most expensive (rumoured $13M per unit) on the planet without capability to match Abrams or Armata.

The most important bit will be producing a tank that's capable than say what a fairly cheap T55 can offer. Using a base model is probably the best option and would save a lot.
Tank details should be mostly proprietary,
If we outsource almost all components to outsiders, most countries would already know how to defeat it before it reaches the battlefield. There'll also be issue of logistics. It's why I'll like to see other supporting industries on ground.

I would go for Ex Soviet as they have pedigree in tanks plus potentially reasonable wages versus the very well renumerated European or American.

About the NN, there's some capability in the shipbuilding industry thanks in part to the oil sector. Worth hundreds of millions, many companies are indeed motivated. Would not be surprised if frigate scale projects would suffice in the future.
