4llerbuntu: If your assets aren't liquid enough to afford Samsung's flagship on contract, you might be at least tempted by the fakery of the HDC Galaxy S3. The familiar-looking slab packs a 4.7-inch TFT screen, alongside a humble 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and a 5-megapixel camera. According to GizmoChina, the phone will set shady cash registers ringing at around $200

just contact your nearest shenzen dealer.. grin grin grin

Not a GEJ fan

But then I fail to see the correlation between Goodluck and decline in football. Our football values has surely been on a gradual but consistent nosedive into levels of dire mediocrity since a peak in 1996.
All the consequences of our past sins -neglect, age cheats, scams, corruption and embezzlement et al is fast catching up. Once upon a time, our country could muster an enviable line up of World renowned superstars. Now we are dealing with a rickety bunch of patched up bunch of washed up players and athletes with a vociferous breed of thieving pseudo-technocrats at the helm.

It'll be no biggie-least to me if we fail to qualify. Infact I am not ashamed anymore. Gone are the days of Finidi,Okocha and others. Rather we now struggle not to be steam rolled by groups of semi-professional football players in every football match.
FamilyRe: Where Did Our Daughters Learn To Be Materialistic? by BlackBaron: 9:12pm On Aug 14, 2012
They are simply products of the society.
Money is the number 1 God in the society and most will do anything to get it. Couple that to their warped mentality regarding any and every male as their sole provider even when unmarried and you get your answer.
PhonesRe: Iphone Hd Gaming Vs Android Hd Gaming by BlackBaron: 11:43am On Aug 14, 2012
Iphone has an edge over android. Most developers shun android cos of rampant levels of piracy and very poor sales volumes.
'Onlive 'and emulators is the only area android reigns supreme.
Support the developers else there'll be mass desertion on the android platform.

Saying that, 'Dead Trigger' is free and at only 200+mb, its certainly one of the best HD game out there. I reckon most should be able to download that with their data plans.
PhonesRe: Essential Android Apps! by BlackBaron(op): 12:27pm On Aug 13, 2012
^^
I understand your point dude. To install apps downloaded from your computer to your phone is a bit complex. Infant, unless you go 'black market' you can't snag any file off Google play without an android device. To download and install any app, it must have an .apk extension for it to work. E.g Nairaland.apk. You then drag and drop that into a folder on your phone and install.
Problem is when dealing with larger files, (50mb-Gb+)you may need to download 'data files' independent of the .apk.
I'd say try using a WiFi connection if you're bothered bout data limits as its far easier than tis usb, drag and drop...

PoliticsRe: We Are Taking Illorin And Offa With Us, North Dares Yoruba by BlackBaron: 11:27pm On Aug 12, 2012
ezotik: off topic.

how did the okuns get their name? coz i always thought okun meant the ocean and not just river? or at least that is what i have been made to believe. so are they anywhere close to the atlantic?
Can't say about the origin, but I think the name 'Okun', was derived from a form of greeting commonly used by those who share a similar history and linguistic affinity. The form of greeting is usually - 'Okun' and you'd reply 'O'(?)
PoliticsRe: We Are Taking Illorin And Offa With Us, North Dares Yoruba by BlackBaron: 11:11pm On Aug 12, 2012
Jarus: Yes, that is why Okun's most influential politician, was the spokesperson of the North as Arewa Consultative Forum Chairman and his arch-rival for 30 years, Sunday Daniyan, was also a key northern political figure.
One man's political ambition does not translate to a blanket tagging of all and sundry as part of Arewa.
And last time I checked the other half of my family were born and grew up in Kabba, yet none can even speak Hausa or Fulani or whatnot.
PoliticsRe: We Are Taking Illorin And Offa With Us, North Dares Yoruba by BlackBaron: 11:03pm On Aug 12, 2012
Jarus: Like Sunday Awoniyi, Sunday Daniyan and the heirs to their political structure?
Speak for what you know dude...
Kabba ain't your forte, least if others within Kogi choose North, it'll not be the 'Okuns'
PoliticsRe: We Are Taking Illorin And Offa With Us, North Dares Yoruba by BlackBaron: 10:56pm On Aug 12, 2012
Can't speak for 'Kwarans'
All I know is Kabba-Kogi State would probably go SW if anything.

SportsRe: Nigeria Went To London To See The Queen At The Olympic by BlackBaron: 7:21pm On Aug 12, 2012
Actually it was a disaster. Out of the 10 most populous countries, only Nigeria and Pakistan failed to get a medal.
The latter have won none for the last 5 Olympics and so not even considered medal prospects in sporting circles. Considering we have (had?) a strong sporting tradition, it is a damn shame.
Props to the females, least they put up a good fight in all and managed to feature in a few finals. Basketball team too.

PoliticsRe: El-Rufai Allocated Land To Family Members (8 Plots) by BlackBaron: 5:19pm On Aug 10, 2012
For a man apt to point fingers at others, yet guilty of the same crimes (lesser or not) irrespective he's still as guilty as those he gleefully tries to criticise.

Major fault in Nigeria's political system is this- sharing properties, contracts et al to family, friends and neighbours. Whether giving out oil blocks in the Niger Delta or plots to undeserving family members still boils down to Nepotism( political corruption) which is a malignant cancer in our society.

FamilyRe: Prenuptial Agreements Vs Gold Diggers: How Effective? by BlackBaron: 2:29pm On Aug 10, 2012
Prenups are meant to protect from those using the guise of marriages as an institutionalised form of golddigging.

That fictional dude in the OP was just as silly and useful as a door mat to that lady.

Adding to that...a post I lifted off the internet just exactly sums up my feeling on gold diggers.

"...The worst part of it all is there's an entire generation of women out there and an even more numerous younger generation of girls coming up behind them who are of the mentality that the only way to do things is to land a well off/outright rich man, and make him pay for every last little thing they desire, pop a few kids out and wait for the divorce to eventually manifest itself and then cha-ching! And what's worse is there's an entire echelon of feminist "intellectuals" out there who'll defend said strumpets every step of the way and use a defence barely any more opaque than 'Tough, the man-bastard had it coming for being a man! Go sisterhood!..."

What's your CPU speed?

You may need bout 1.2ghz dual core to run most games and playstation iso's are massive at 100mb+

Try other emulators like cpsemu, tiger arcade et al if size and CPU would be a problem for you

More like $300 billion.

Nigeria ranks second only after Saudi Arabia in terms of capital flight. The money stolen by the corrupt bastards far exceeds the unrealistic figure in Naira.
