uninstall one and see if the problem till persists, if it does then uninstall the other too. If you still have the problem i will advise you to do a backup of your files and do a factory reset

All I am saying is that it will always cost more to make a Nokia 3310 than it costs to make a Galaxy S4. Why is S4 costlier? The cost of making an S4 is 39k but it is sold at 105k, why is it so?

do you have any evidence to back that up? 'cos i find it hard to believe that a phone with monochrome color, no polyphonic sound, no card slot, no usb port, no camera .... will cost more than a phone with the features of a gs4, heck i doubt the 3310 can cost as much as the galaxy star to make

samsung cost abi, i think they don't know abt the others. the only other major oem as cheap as samsung is lg, even huawei cost more (and they are a chinko company too)

u know something guys, i'm guessing a lot of people aren't as used to using google as we are so i'm suggesting instead of the customary "google is your friend" we actually tell them what terms to google for, we should be patient with these guys after all we weren't always so knowledgeable on these issues, i even remember a time (in the early days) i gave almighty 4llerbuntu a command to fix an issue - in quotes just to highlight the command - and was surprised to find out he typed the command WITH the quotes. Nowadays when Ashipa asks a question know he has crawled the web and not found the answer.
Jokes aside, remember ubuntu's one of the most popular linux distros 'cos the people in the forums try to be helpful; some one posts a question that has been answered b4 and people will search the forum to find similar threads and post the links. I think we can do no less. A lot of the people around here don't have our level of experience

are you for real? why would you want to go through all that pain just to get that info when a simple google search will get you more than enough material, some much better than you could get on nl, say for instance you go to google and type install ubuntu on laptop blah blah blah ... Nokia (or Elop) killed that phone's os sha,the positive reviews i heard abt it despite being practically dead on arrival. i can only imagine the kind of waves it would have been making if they'd continued work on it

Three years back, nobody ever thought they would get here. So why not give them more time. Samsung is a better product and we all know that, but they should watch out for this tecno guyz. They are coming with speed.

Actually 3 years back when samsung was just beginning to make waves i was thinking that if tecno just went into android they too really make waves. At that time, if they had come out with an android device maybe i would have bought, but for now sha they don't have what i'm looking for in an android phone. Both Samsung and Tecno are beneficiaries of the android OS, before android i won't give Samsung a second glance, it was Nokia all the way (and if those idiots had at least adopted android i probably would still be with them). I guess a lot of people have forgotten that both devices had crappy ui pre-android (for the most part) though Samsung did have one or two decent phones

Well i like MTP mode, i think MS started it, removes the inconveniece of having to switch to mass storage to access your device, especially on linux. Nokias have had it for a while; even the ~30k acer tablet (wifi only) that i bought recently has it

1stnoble: You have spoken well though, I understand what you are saying. Its all about marketing strategy, rome they say was not built in a day. They found a place in nigeria to better their product name, as time goes oin, and as more nigerians use their product, they will be recognised in other african countries and soon the world. My father always say "always plant your seed where you know it will grow, soon it will find favour in the soil around" that's just it. They are planting in nigeria doesn't mean they are bad, we should be happy about that.

Perhaps the build quality is ok but if tecno is selling more in Nigeria than in any other country doesn't it say something?

i think the argument that most pro-samsung users adopt is that nigeria has a reputation as a dumping ground because their certification standard is not strict. If lenovo, another chinese company sold their devices here i don't think we'd have as much argument over the matter because they are known to sell their devices in countries that have stricter certification standards. In other words, when tecno starts selling on amazon.com i will get over my reservations on buying a tecno and accept that they are on par with other popular brands

all this argument about tecno/samsung really tires me.
You know who i blame? NOKIA! now if only those guys had made android phones too people won't be screaming samsung so much.
I used to be a die hard Nokia fan till they decided to make their bed with winPhone, now i have serios bad belle for them.
Anyway i've looked at some tecno phones and they look pretty decent; however i don't have the liver to buy a tecno phone, i'll rather stick to a brand i'm sure of like ... SAMSUNG or LG or any other brand popular in developed countries. Am i shortchanging myself? could i get a better deal with a brand like tecno or Be? Maybe. For me it boils down to confidence, and i don't have much confidence in devices only sold in developing countries

your own request was a legitimate question, most of those "snide remarks" happen when someone asks a question that could be answered with a simple search. Sometimes we have an idea abt the answer but still have to search online to get a concise solution to give the person.
So our point is, the person who has the problem asks, meanwhile even the person who has an idea does a search. So why can't the guy search instead of asking a question that has been answered over 100 times elsewhere?

with the exception of a few guys here, most of us don't do tecno and we're not ready to research on it
