Leopantro: Okay, now I'm a bit angry.

Repulse is a HD game on android with graphics that surpass Wipeout on PS2.you can compare it with need for speed on android, graphic wise. Tried it on my S2 and was getting a white screen. Game was also hanging. Tried it on a tecno N3 and it was playing smoothly with no lag. See how chinco is insulting my S2
Now you're getting me curious;
have you rooted your N3? is there cwm for N3? those are 2 important factors for me before i can consider the phone

ps: if you know someone who has upgraded it to jb and it doesn't have any lag that will be an added plus

Lordwize: Can I upgrade from android 2.3 to 4.1 or 4.0 please? If yes, how?
depends on the phone, but unless the manufacturer has released a version of the sort it's usually better not to

PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 11:50pm On Mar 26, 2013
if you still see crack, it might be that your sdcard is faulty and your files are getting corrupted in which case you may have to get another one, especially since you say even pictures are showing crack

lynxnoon: pls who's been able to make a WIMAX MODEM (e.g Swift 4G modem) work on linux?

Oga 4ller . . i dey wait oh .. .
Cheers
bros lynx,i wish i had good news for you, i really do, but from my research, it is not possible -simply because the stupid chinko company refused to release the source code and i don't think they support it any longer. There was a version of ubuntu that there were modules that supported but it was a 2.6 kernel, i think it was ubuntu 9.04 or something.
Your best bet is to run windows as a vm client inside your linux environment and share the internet connection with your host. At least that's what i do.
I periodically still check online to see if a better solution has been found but so far nothing. If you do find one, pl share with the house

Leopantro: do I eyes deceive me? can you believe it? not only is texazzpete comparing different Android phones, he even said he prefers S4. the same texazzpete that frown on Android looooooog time ago when people were comparing Android to iphone. even infoseye.
change and progress is good
Nah i think Tex just prefers iphones and winphones ,maybe he feels the android platform is like pure water but i've seen posts where he says he's tried android phones. If his claims are true (and i see no reason why they aren't) he may actually be among the first people to try out the s4 (at least on NL)
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 9:34am On Mar 16, 2013
is it me or does anyone else feel that the s4 shape is getting boring?
Well for me sha, all those ui thing that all these phone vendors tout don't count for zilch, i get a new phone i change the default launcher sharp sharp.
I'm really surprised so many people are ok with the default settings

PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 10:08pm On Mar 13, 2013
One other thing, samsung caters to every spectrum of the market from the high end to the low.
HTC's low-end android devices aren't worth it imho and they don't release dual sim phones anymore
Yes it can be argued that there's a higher profit margin from high end devices, ut the fact still remains that even low end devices can increase awareness.
I'm not a samsung fan but the way things are going my next phone will probably still be samsung or LG unless another brand comes out with something that meeds my needs
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 7:40pm On Mar 13, 2013
u guys are beginning to remind me of the bashings that go on on zdnet, everyone touts the device/ecosystem he/she likes and bashes every other one

4ller is right abt one thing though, those that will buy into an ecosystem will buy into the ecosystem regardless of what anyone says, sometimes it's not the "best" phone that sells best

on that note, this is my opinion, BB, Nokia and Samsung will continue to rule the nigerian market (and maybe tecno). Samsung 'cos of their marketing - see how they pushed the galaxy pocket for example,
Nokia 'cos of their feature phones (the Asha series are still a major best seller)
and BB: well everytime i go to slot i see how many pple are buying bbs (personally i believe if they didn't release the bbOS 10 for the next 2 years pple will still be rushing them here)
i once tried to convince my younger bro to move on from bb to the android ecosystem. when he gave me his reasons for sticking i agreed that he was ok where he was.

Which G+ community will that be? i'm on Ubuntu and Linux, haven't seen any flame wars yet, just comments by Linus Torvalds, complaining about some thing or the the other
ComputersRe: Ubuntu Linux by blackweaver(m): 8:00am On Mar 13, 2013
Has anyone tried the chromebook? personally i don't see the hype about that device, i installed a chromeos image on my flash drive and i am yet to see any reason why i'd want to put it on my phone. so to login i'll have to use a google account. True there's a guest account but that's limited, why can't i just use the device i paid for with full access without an internet connection
ComputersRe: Ubuntu Linux by blackweaver(m): 7:57am On Mar 13, 2013
Firefox os on the other hand ... well i'll see how that one turns out but the idea that most of my apps will be web based as an idea that i find particularly distasteful - i don't even use dropbox. Call me old fashioned but i prefer to be able to use apps on my phone without lining my isp's pockets at the same time.
ComputersRe: Ubuntu Linux by blackweaver(m): 7:47am On Mar 13, 2013
hmm, compiling some obscure package from source on ur phone - just thinking aloud. On a side note, i wonder if they'll use the same pakage manager with the 1 app fits all approach. A drawback i can envision with the approach is the dependencies thingy, it might not seem like much but i'm pretty sure some people will find it annoying if everytime they install an app. a bunch of libraries they didn't specify get downloaded too. Unless it's going to work differently
