4llerbe: pretty sure by then i'd have dumped android
well i'm pretty sure it's just a matter of time before we have an android launcher that has the ubuntu sort of ui with all the gestures and stuff. For me that customisability has been a major selling point of android. i'm not sure ubuntu will give me that anytime soon so for now i'm down with android
FamilyRe: Father Tortures Daughter For Being A 'Witch' by blackweaver(m): 5:34pm On Mar 04, 2013
So a witch told the man that his daughter is a witch and he believed her smh. That witch that calls herself a prophetess should be arrested, isn't that the kind if thing that revd king did and now he's on death row? She should be charged for complicity to attempted murder
RomanceRe: Woman Dumps Boyfriend On Valentine's Day With Garage Advert by blackweaver(m): 5:37pm On Feb 16, 2013
So the guy doesn't have a palce of his own? he moved into his gf's place? no wonder she locked him out. The guy probably doesn't do anything in d house while the woman pays all the bills. My only issue is why did she wait this long to break up and why make it public

4llerbuntu: Debloat your phone. a lot of the stock OEM apps on your phone are useless, you dont use them, they use your data and they slow your phone down.

install an app called TITANIUM BACKUP. you can use that to either FREEZE any app including system apps. that way they dont show up in you app drawer or become active. (they are still on the phone and may be unfrozen
OR totally uinstall any application whatsoever, including those system apps that dont show up for removal in app manager. be careful not to remove any essentail app tho.
i usually just disable my data when i'm not using it; also have this app Gemini app manager that i use to keep from starting certain apps automatically so that when i stop an app under manage applications it doesn't automatically come up

Tobis90: operamini 12.sis file
that would be opera MOBILE 12 not mini; the most recent version of operamini for symbian is 7.1, go to the opera.com and download operamobile for s60 instead; Opera mobile is nice and pretty powerful but unless you're using one of the higher end symbian phones you're better off without it. On the other hand you can get UCbrowser for browsing
PhonesRe: Nokia Care @ Nigeria: by blackweaver(m): 12:40am On Feb 09, 2013
Tobis90: too low for my liking
ok what app are you trying to run that it's complaining of low memory?

ositadima1: I apologize for assuming all Nigerians are the same, there luv for titles and accolades... Thank you for your reply, I will try out a live cd.
well actually for techies, most of the time titles sound patronising (as if you're trying to bribe us or something)

As for your error that's strange, maybe it's a problem with the cd; ubuntu livecds shouldn't ask for password (as far as i know sha) unfortunately i can't remeber the default username for the ubuntu user.
Try googling up default username and password for ubuntu, but like i said before, my first thought on hearing your issue is that some error occurred during the boot process
PhonesRe: Nokia Care @ Nigeria: by blackweaver(m): 6:40pm On Feb 04, 2013
Tobis90: Hope changing of RAM won't cus any more problem too the phone ooooo... And were can i get it perfect done
you can't change the ram on a phone, that's one way it's different from a pc. If you absolutely must have a device with more ram you'll have to buy another phone.
This of course is different from changing the memory card on your phone.
Might i ask: why do u want to change your ram anyway?

shadrach77: this rubbish has to stop. Why not use the koranic to form these jokes, why use the bible? Something like this was also coined during the Farouk, Otedola saga. It more or less blasphemous and sacrilegious angry angry angry
guy i hope u realise the bible was not written in king james english;
just because a joke is written in king james english you now see it as blasphemous? That is pretty disappointing. what you see as "bible english" (both the style and the choice of words) was common english when the king james bible was written, so you are absolutely wrong.
OP go on nothing do u joo, dis guy wey dey complain suppose sharpen im middle english small

PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 10:33pm On Jan 25, 2013
also clear the app caches and clean up the dalvik cache
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 10:32pm On Jan 25, 2013
you should be able to link some of those apps on sd card, do them one by one; but i'm really surprised you have so little space; i have over 100 apps on my phone which comes with 160mb internal memory and i still have over 70mb free AND i have some apps i keep on internal memory too
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 10:21pm On Jan 25, 2013
dybaba: ok I have don it.
and you sill don't have much internal memory? have you checked?
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 10:17pm On Jan 25, 2013
you know the image i uploaded, select the linked files, so that it shows only the files that are linked, then select tap menu -> multi select -> select all -> actions -> create link

it shouldn't take long for all the apps to relink

by the way like how many apps do u have on your phone?
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 10:13pm On Jan 25, 2013
have you tried selecting all the linked files and linking them again?
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 10:05pm On Jan 25, 2013
if after all these you still don't have enough space then try this: set the filter to linked files, select all the linked files and create link again
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 10:03pm On Jan 25, 2013
dybaba: Yea... I have 6 apps on SD, I dnt actually move some of them to Link2SD Whn I instu it nd some I download after are showing on SD...I have bn trying to link dem but to do that I have to move them to internal memory 1st b4 I will b abbl to link them to Link2SD.....But each time I try to move therm d reply will be No enuf Memory.
look for some app on internal memory and lin that first - one of the ones that us linkable.
if that doesn't work then choose more -> relink all application files, then more -> relink library files, then more -> link dalvic cache files, then more -> clear up all app caches
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 9:56pm On Jan 25, 2013
so now when u select the option like in the picture do u see the apps that are on memory card instead of being linked?
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 9:47pm On Jan 25, 2013
Select the option as shown to see the apps that are stored on the sdcard instead of linked

PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 9:39pm On Jan 25, 2013
dybaba: the day I rooted my phone nd partition my SD, I set my link2SD to link all New app to d 2nd partition and I move d apps I earlier download to it...in fact I still have 860MB left on d 2nd partition SD.
when you open link2sd and you select storage onfo, how much internal memory does it say you have free?

the thing is by default, link2sd will automatically link apps that normally would be installed in internal memory; however those that are installed on the sdcard don't get automatically linked
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 8:41pm On Jan 25, 2013
dybaba: Yes o
so how many of your apps are on sd?
PhonesRe: Android, Anyone? Part II by blackweaver(m): 6:04pm On Jan 25, 2013

I guess its something that has to do with the configuration file in X11.conf.d but i really do not know which to edit..

Further help guys!!!
try running X -configure

it will generate a config file which you should rename to xorg.conf then copy/move to /etc/X11 folder (though you might want to backup the existing xorg.conf file there first)

checked the specs on their website, not enough info: what's the chipset of the cpu? what's the screen resolution etc
that's my problem with these chinese companies, they don't give you enough info about their products; what about radio emmission - SAR (Specific absorption rate)
we have to know if these phones can constitute a health hazard; what about the battery capacity?
i'm not saying the phone isn't good, i'm just saying they ought to give us more info so we know exactly what we're getting into.
and the android version, i hope it isn't too heavily customized - not the one that someone will be struggling to install apps from the play store

You shud be sued for false misrepresentation!

slimjx: Hello all. I am beginning to wonder if the Nokia range of lumia fones is the worst ever. I bought a LUMIA 800 recently and I can tell u that I already regret wasting my money on the fone. Even though it's a new one, the volume doesn't work. I can't hear the fone ring. I called it with my other phone and it just vibrated ones and didn't ring at all. Secondly I can't even configure it to browse since the phone doesn't receive default settings automatically. Is there anyone out there who can help me with these issues? It seem to me already that I have wasted 50k.
try contactig texxaspete with this issue, he's the one lumia expert i knowon NL
