rickkid:
My personal worst of them all - the one who is a lane polygamist. Cannot just keep to a lane and drive in a straight line like an adult. They will straddle two lanes and be eyeing a third and you'll be there behind them honking your horn fruitlessly. Gosh! This one makes me into the sort of foul-mouthed person that nobody will recognise.

Please to any Nigerian road users reading this: those dotted white lines on the road are not just helpful suggestions to be ignored at will. You are meant to drive inside a lane. Drive then indicate when you are coming out at least 3 seconds before you actually come out. Stop driving like illiterates! Please!

Honourable mention to the woman drivers who go around terrorising innocent drivers because the mugu at home is the one maintaining the car. Just continue o, you hear?
One day bushmeat go catch hunter.
women demonstrate stingyness when driving. and when you jump into their front without begging or looking at their frowning faces. they start chasing you and blaring horns to call your attention so they can use fingers to touch their heads to signal they are insulting you. I never look at them after the deed. if they like they should put navy or airforce sticker on the windscreen.

Honestly it's surprising the way some of u here reason at times. How on earth did this story suddenly turn into a political debate. Next y'all would soon start flinging insults at each other.
Let's face it...the reason y this young man is probably battling for his life is due to one reason and one reason only and that is Indiscipline!
And it's a trait inherent in all of us due to the environment we find ourselves. Today it's overcrowding on a moving train, tomorrow it's You throwing out a pure water satchel from your car or bus, or urinating on the sidewalk, or posting illegal posters on public walls or double -parking.
We all have a long way to go.
Nice one!

Reason is that, a typical Nigerian Guy mentality goes like; when he buys a new baë(Ride) he immediately thinks he owns the road by driving recklessly devoid of caution..

However, glad he is alive to learn life isn't just about Cars or anything. ..

People should learn to live a simple Life.. This life is Just One chance..

What are your thoughts on this?

philipstweets:
Good evening pals, just got back from work and i want to share my story with you. I also need your contribution and experiences.

I work at Festac but i live at Apapa. I boarded a Mile 2 bus at Festac. When I got to mile2 bustop by 7:30pm, I boarded a danfo bus (LT35) to Apapa. The bus has five rows and i was at the middle. As we left mile2, there was traffic immediately after the bridge.

While pressing my phone, the girl at the extreme back near the window who was pressing her phone shouted "JESUS!!!!" We all looked back thinking that the truck behind us was about to hit us.

However, what we saw was a young guy in all black attire and a face cap trying to pick up something from the floor outside.

Suddenly, the conductor started shouting "Ole! Ole!! Ole!!!" (thief thief thief)

Before the conductor could even get down from the bus, the guy took to his heels. He ran into the other side of the road and we didnt see him again.....That was when we realized that he had stolen the Samsung S5 belonging to the girl sitting near the window..

And that was it, the phone was gone just like that. I was in shock till i got home.

Share your own Mile 2 experience.
I once watched a scene in ajah (near the roundabout towards abijan) a lady had her bag snatched by a thief, as people chased him, he ran to a man and dropped the bag on his feet. Although people saw what happened and left the man alone, they may have assumed it was his turn to run with the bag but that he couldn't make it. God saved the man that he did not pick it up in confusion and that he was not on the mainland. He may have met his death unjustly.

Dude, don't get it twisted. This isn't 'male chauvinistic' in any way. We all know that 'nice' in this context doesn't relate to courtesy, etiquette and the like. Those are perfect chivalrous, gentlemanly traits.
'Nice' in this context refers to being a mugu, sometimes even inadvertently, because you want to be seen as caring or so. Any reasonable man would respect a hardworking, high-earning woman, because the probability of falling mugu to her would be quite low.
I get you brother. I don't support the mugu-man thing either. I thought the 'nice' here means the contextual NiCe as it applies to the human race. Thanks a lot

Just as you have NL in nigeria here, they have an equivalent forum in UsA called TOPIX. I want you to check from time to time and see what makes fp there. See intellectual discourse and contributions. Not all these fp that flaw logic in all facet. What is the meaning of a post like this? Don't the op have sisters, cousins, aunties, and friends? If one of them told him how badly she's been treated by her boss or colleagues on account of been female, will he be laughing and defending his points? Come on! Fp worthy materials should be scrutinized by intelligent people.

For heavens' sake did u type all these to appease the female folk or what? I probably think you one of those few guys who give ladies the worst impression about us... OP is absolute sh*it being nice
Yes I did. I'm not trying to appease anybody. Infact I don't care about pleasing people generally. But I don't want to keep passing by when fooolish things are done without at least making an effort to correct them. Why all these topic on women? The description of women most people on NL give, does not represent the girls I meet on real ground. You may not necessarily be better than them by virtue of just been male and that's what I'm pointing out. They excel academically and professionally, they so sports, they ride bicycles, they spend money on friends in reciprocation of the gifts they receive, they play chess, they take responsibilities of their junior ones and aged parents, they need homes and right companions to complement their style and efforts too just like the man folk. What ever you point out as been a disadvantage of been nice to women, I assure you, you will find men displaying all of those qualities too. Don't go ahead my brother to treat your daughter, wife, mum or sister any how just because they don't deserve to be treated nicely as put by your hero OP. You may even end up being the one who needs nice treatment from your female superior tomorrow. Who knows? Respect everybody and be just. Don't let male ego or pride ruin you before competent women. If you don't believe there are competent women, start travelling. Leave your locality now

Don't mind their bragging! Most of the guys fumbling here don't have nerves in real life grin. That's why they're so endless about their bravery on NL.

One important thing they've forgotten is that they are responsible for the nasty attitudes of most of these ladies. When a woman goes all out and gives them everything they want, they call her desperate, turn her to a door mat and start behaving like a prize to win; whereas they run after the so called nasty girls like a puppy running after a piece of bone!
Exactly. I have a lot of women in my life I respect because of their achievement. Some are professionals. One is an international business tycoon, and others holding important positions in strong companies. I'm not a pervert or woman wrapper as my post may make me appear, I love seeing truth been told. I don't like to see men who hold opinions of women as dependent weaklings just lusting after money and marriage. Most NL post these days are related to bitterness and poorly description of the woman folk. I read engineering, and the 2 best students in my faculty were small girls. Men who are yet to achieve much should at least respect the fact the girls they are always quick to abuse have done that which they can't do despite having all it takes. Maybe the defination of a good girl is one that goes to meet them in their holes and moats to beg them for relationships. We are all humans. Let's respect ourselves. Its not everything we know and see we must say or write on NL. Some things should should be locked up in our hearts. In conclusion, I aver that the topic above is void of logic

Nairaland is gradually turning into a male chauvinist play ground. All topics that show women as negative creatures make front page, and get too much attention. Why should there be a topic like: disadvantage of being nice to women. We re in a modern world now, some women are far above men socially, mentally, financially and what have you. It takes a proud man to think he's superior to somebody on account that she's female. A woman in an oil company for instance is far above those men with dried bier bier and big dirty long sleeve shirts in faded trousers and filed shoes still telling themselves " I won't marry her if... I won't be nice to women because,.." Its time to open our minds and see life as real as it is rather than as we wish or imagine it to be.

I have never been this confused. I proposed to five pretty & gorgeous ladies at different time, hoping that at least one will fall and accept my proposal. I was just playing the nice guy I am to them so that one will accept and fall to my chest.
To my greatest surprise, two of them called me last week, that we can start dating, that they find me interesting. As I was contemplating on who to accept, I received a message from one two days ago that she has accepted my proposal. I was so confused. I couldn't sleep, I couldn't reply them back, my head is just full with thought. I just want to accept one, but I don't know how the other two will feel, if I later decide to develop a cold shoulder on them.

Nairalanders, I need your matured and wise opinion to help me out of this tragedy without hurting anyone...
