I like to drive and the fastest I could make was 210 km/hr with the car from a friend and normaly I drive between 140 and 170 km/hr.

The longest way I make alone with a car was from Vienna to Hamburg in germany that is about 1200 km one way, with two stops where drank coffee.

I was 18 when I got my first own car.

I drive very much when i go for holiday because i have a motorhome and the longest way with stops was from vienna to the nord cap in norway and back in 3 Weeks.
210km/hr. this is the funniest joke so far

This thread is for the female drivers in this forum. I will like to know the longest distance you have driven a car. Most times, we hardly see ladies on our highways driving long distance.

Now this is what prompted me to open this thread. I was travelling from Abuja to Warri few days back. I was driving a 2009 Camry. Somewhere around Gwagwalada, I overtook a 20‎11 Highlander which was pulling over. A lady was behind the wheels. I was driving at an average of 145km/hr. On getting to Lokoja, I pulled over to buy some onions. I spent roughly 6mins doing that. When I was putting the onions in my boot, the lady with the highlander passed me. Then I continued my journey. Just after Lokoja, heading towards Okene I got close to the lady. On getting to Okene town, I somehow overtook her. Immediately after Okene, she overtook me again. At this point, I was doing between 130Km/hr to 140Km/hr because it wasn't a dual carriage road. I followed her closely behind maintaining same speed but I could not overtake her. She was firing ahead. She was obviously doing same speed with me.

On getting to Benin bypass, she headed for the Lagos direction while I headed towards Warri. My guess is that she might be travelling to Lagos. This is the very first time I'm seeing a lady drive this long distance with such speed. Even my elder sister and my wife I consider rugged and good drivers because of the way they both drive haven't  done such‎ a distance. My mom who taught me how to drive when I was in SS1 will not even think of driving that long distance.

So to the Nairaland ladies who drive, what is the longest distance you have driven and also your average speed?
145km/hr is suicidal.

So unfortunate... He should sue the Nigerian Navy, I'm sure the case will be ruled in his favour, I still recall the young lady that was battered and beaten blue black by some navy personnel some years back, She sued the Navy and was compensated with millions. Let this man do the same, Some of these military men are just full of themselves and need to be taught a lesson or two.
that young lady's dad was a strong legged ex military man. justice in nigeria is titled to the side of the richer and mightier.

NYSCRe: Decamped From Nysc Batch C 2014 Camp: My Story by blakky97(m): 6:12pm On Dec 25, 2014

I am ANYANWU BRIGHT C. A graduate of accounting from MICHAEL OKPARA UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE UMUDIKE WITH THE NYSC STATE CODE NUMBER LA/14C/0087. Deployed TO LAGOS STATE.

Having done all registrations AT THE IYANA IPAJA ORIENTATION NYSC CAMP IN LAGOS, and collected my kit from the PLATOON 7 OFFICER, my joy knew no bound as i put a call to my parents and siblings informing them that I am now a "CORPER".....It was indeed a great day as we all washed and ironed our khaki in readiness of the swearing in ceremony scheduled to hold on MONDAY THE FIRST DAY OF DECEMBER , 2014.
On that fateful Friday, little did i know that the tradional lecture by the Oba of ifako Kingdom will be the last activity i will witness as a BATCH C 14 CORP MEMBER...

At exactly 7PM at the close of parade activities that fateful day, I received a phone call from an unknow number, only to be informed that my attention was needed urgently at the CAMP SECRETARIAT. I quickly left my band group and went to the secretariat only to see other colleaugues of mine FROM MICHAEL OKPARA UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE UMUDIKE sweating profusely like Christmas goats....

WE WERE TOLD THAT OUR COURSE LOST ACCREDITATION AND HENCE WE WERE TO BE DECAMPED.
Before i could say jack, my khaki and other kits were collected from me and an army hilux van moved us out of the camp and dropped us along Ikeja bustop.......

I CHECKED THE TIME ON MY WATCH AND IT WAS 9PM.....

WE STARTED PUTING CALLS TO OUR SCHOOL BUT ALL WE GOT WAS THAT WE WILL BE REMOBILISED BY BATCH A 2015.

FELLOW NAIRALANDERS, I FEEL SOO SAD AND TEARS CANT ALLOW ME WRITE MY STORY FUTHER ...PLEASE WHAT DO I DO?..... EVERYONE HAS LOST HOPES ON ME AND I FEEL SO CURSED.......DO I STAND A CHANCE OF SERVING AGAIN?....PLEASE ADVICE ME.....AND PLEASE MODERATOR MOVE THIS STORY TO FRONTPAGE AND POSSIBLY LET IT GET TO MEDIA HOUSES I BELIEVE THAT WILL MAKE MY SCHOOL RISE UP TO THE CHALLENGE OF GETTING THE PROGRAMS INVOLVED ACCREDITED AND SAVE THE FUTURE OF THOSE COMING BEHIND ME.

AS I SPEAK NOW OTHER STATES HAVE STARTED DEMOBILISING OUR STUDENTS WHO READ BANKING AND FINANCE, MARKETING AND ACCOUNTING.
the lion is the king of the jungle.
it is not bigger and stronger than the elephant's
neither does it have poisonous venom like the snake.
nor is it taller than the giraffe or more swift than the monkey
rather, its mindset places it at an advantage over the other animals.
it lives the way it thinks.
when a lion sees an elephant.
what comes to its mind is food.
it eats the elephant.
conversely,
when an elephant sees a lion
what comes to its mind is eater.
it is eaten by the lion not withstanding its size and might.
it is a victim of its own thought.

open your mind.
believe your existence does not depend on nysc.
believe you can make something out of your life this period you wait to be mobilised.
so not be a victim of the mindset that defines your demobilisation as your doom
and one day
youll be glad you were demobilised afterall.
before you are called again,
it's not the end of the world.

RomanceRe: Need Advise:she Is 35 And Doesn't Even Have Toasters by blakky97(m): 10:29am On Dec 25, 2014
a single lady at 28, 30 should at least be financially stable. there'll be nothing to enjoy in a marriage with a lady who is advanced in age, and yet dependent. sitting down all her life and expecting a charming prince to emerge from the blues and shoulder all her responsibilities at age 38 is totally unrealistic and appears more like a miracle that doesn't happen every day. yes! the red sea was split, david killed goliath, manna fell from sky, bread and fish multiplied, water became wine. but they happen only once or never in every blue moon. they cant be waited for. something other than sitting down, watching telemundo that makes you dwell in a fantasy garden at 30, ought to be done. if a guy is not attracted by your looks, he must be drawn by your sucess and achievements. successful ladies can even attract younger guys. something expired beauty does not do.
im yet to discover what it is that prevent women from making moves to initiating relationships as an alternative to getting lost in the rave and suave of a pity-party, when guys do not approach them first. there is something called emotional intelligence that can enable a lady determine who and who (of guys) can be approached with no dreadful consequence. there are decent and mature guys that will gladly make friends and plan dates with a lady who made the first move. white women do it all the time and yet they have not gone into extinction. we all have fears. but when you do the things you fear most, the death of fear becomes certain.

Hahaha...I can totally relate

Lived in Ekosodin for the six (6) years I schooled in UNIBEN. The experiences are countless.

1. Frog jumping for about 500m because I was "roaming" for chairman dem area near Hostel 37 (100 Level)

2. Broad daylight shooting by 2pm during my registration. I throway my folder run enter Lagos. Popsy no gree hear, sent me back. (100 Level)

3. Robbery on Ekhorotunwen (I hope I got it right) just before Newton's Villa. My new Sagem X7 was collected after I received two resounding slaps (100 Level)

4. Personal Encounter with "Black Ninja"- Those who know, know...Na God save me that day

5. Robbery on the road that leads to Colon Towers, just after Twins junction. The mark of the hand axe is still on my head

6. Unfortunately indicted for housing a friend that was trying to escape from cultism. God himself saved me that day because I left my place 5 mins before they stormed and took away my TV and VCD

7. Kneeling down for 1hr in Colon Towers, because one small boy no hear my "Good Morning"

By 300 LEVEL, I knew who was who. Africa, Bazu... grin WHo know, still know

8. Challenged an oppressor and was slapped. I saw the guy later in Engr. wearing blue lab coat (meaning he was in 200 level). I control my men wey dey my 400 Level class, and he was humbled.

9. Settled numerous issues from Mummy is Good to United Villa to Prince Villa. I was the acclaimed Pastor wey no dey hear word.

10. Final year in Ekosodin was fun. If someone's phone was stolen, I knew who to call. If any of my friends had any issues, I knew who to tell. Helped many young guys escape the popular "open office for your head" which meant buying beer or cigar.

In retrospect, these cult guys are just young and fearful guys trying to prove themselves to the world. They are the most lily-livered folks I have met. When they are being looked for, they would run to Pastor, asking me to pray for them.

It might not have been the best of experiences, but Ekosodin was a true reflection of the world we live in. I went, I saw, and I conquered.

BTW, all those guys of those years are married with beautiful kids, some of them burning for God. Glad we never gave up on them.
from ubits to 400l electrical and 500l civil, blue lab coat is what is worn. so how did you know he wasn't in final year doing ELA 201
